Error in creation of Cost center

Hi All,
Trying to create Cost Center through KS01, however I am getting an error as "No compnay Code assignemt to the Contrilling area TS". can anyone please explaine me on the process to chek this error.

Please check the spro seeting for this error.
spro -> enterprise structure - > Assignemtn - >controlling - > Assign Company Code to Controlling Area.
Please check whether the required Company code has been assigned to the Controlling Area. If not please assign the required and check or the same.
Please note: A company code can be assigned to one controlling are only

Checklist for Creating Cost Centers
You have created the controlling area and assigned one or more company codes to it.
You have assigned the highest node of the standard hierarchy to your controlling area (see: Maintain Controlling Areas in Customizing for General Controlling).
If you want to use user-defined cost center categories, you have defined them in Customizing for Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM-CCA) (see: Maintain Cost Center Categories).
Depending on the cost center categories, you have entered default values for planning and posting primary and secondary costs or commitments data. Check these default values.
You have defined a standard hierarchy (see: Maintain Standard Hierarchy in Customizing for Cost Center Accounting).
Check the existing search helps, if necessary, (see: Define Search Helps for Cost Centers in Customizing for Cost Center Accounting).
Transaction for creation of cost center is KS01
enter the Controlling area , give the mname of your cost center say MECHNAICAL
Enter the Valid from & To Dates
give the name & maintain the mandatory fields
In the Control tab maintain the flags for Actual revenues, Plan revenues, Commitment update
Maintain the addressif required & save the Cost center

KO88 - Error when settling for Cost Center AND Auc for the same Internal Or

Hi Experts,
We need to configure Investment Internal Orders that could settle to both Cost Center and Auc, but each assignments with different Source Cost Elements
We did the following:
1. Created Auc Class
2. Created Investment Profile "IMOBIL" and assigned to Auc Class, flagging Auc
3. Created Allocation Structure "CV" with two assignments:
01, Source = Cost elements 7000000000 to 7999999999, receiver AUC "by cost element"
02 Source = Cost elements 4000000000 to 4999999999, receiver CTR "by cost element"
4. Created Model Order, filling the Investment Profile IMOBIL created in step 2.
5 Created Settlement Profile ZCV0001, assigning Allocation Strucutre CV, allowing CTR and AUC for receivers, default receiver is "FXA", doc type "AA".
6 Created ORder Type CV01, assigning Settlement Profile ZCV0001.
When I post only for Asset Expenses (Source Cost element 7, Assigment 01), the settlement through KO88 correctly settles to AUC, and also creates the settlement rule for cost center (i'm using the strategy to create from Responsible Cost Center).
But when I post for Asset Expenses (cost elements 7, receiver AUC) AND General Expenses (Source Cost element 4, receiver CTR), KO88 generates an error KD506, saying that for Assigment 02 - AUC I didnt define a settlement cost element.
1. Assignment 02 is not AUC, is CTR;
2. I flagged "by cost element", so I don't need a settlement cost element. And also, I was able to post to AUC when the source posting was only for cost element 7.
Did you face any problem like this?
I cannot find out what is the missing configuration, or if it is a program error...

I already created Source Structure and assigned to my Setllement profile (so I assigned Allocation Structure AND Source Structure).
I don't understand when you say that I need to assign the Source Sutrcture in each rule....because the Source structure is in the Settlement Parameters valid for both rules...
When I post to Asset Expenses only for the internal Order, the 2 rules (CTR and AUC) are created when I run KO88 (but only AUC rule is settled). This is OK.
The problem is when I post for both General Expenses AND Asset Expenses, the system is not recognizing that I have 2 source structures, neither is findind that for CTR AND AUC the Settlement cost elements are the original cost elements.
I'm thinking about changing message KD506 to warning, do you know if this can help?

Profit Center value for Creation of Cost Center in MDG F

Hi
I am using MDG-F 6.1. I want to create cost center using change request type OG_W003 ( Cost Center single processing) without uploading intial data from ECC check table ( CEPC- Procit Center Master Data ).
Is this possible as there is warning message while creation of CC?
As there is warning message befor submitting of CR as
'Field "Profit Center": Field should be filled because Profit Center Accounting is active'
If we go ahead for with final processing then again one warning message
'The status of change request 86 does not allow for object changes'
After Approval active CC stores in MDG database table and not replicated to ECC even assigned Edition with flag'Immediate replicate' .
Also one more question How referance data ( Like Controlling Area/Company Codes) are retrived in MDG F in case of add on deployement?
Does intial upload is requird for this as well?
In ECC it is possible to create CC without PC.

For Interface and for ALE setup Global company code is must. You are dealing with cross-company transfers since you are using MDG and ECC. In the ALE distribution layer, it is required to set up the global company code for the program to understand for which company code the master data is created. This setting will not affect any process. Tcode- ob72 and obb5.

BA activation - Error in Document level - cost center validaty date error

Hi,
We have activated business area for a perticular Cocode,
The problem is,
All the cost center were assigned to Business area from valid date 1.1.08,
But when an entry is passed before the cost center validy date, that is if an entry is passed on 31.12.2007 there is an error msg,
Cost center not assigned to Business area on 31.12.2007. how should this problem be solved. But if i try posting it on or after 1.1.2008, there is no message and the entry is posted.
and also in F.01 when tried to execute BA Statement, there is not data displyed, but there are transaction posted.
Please help me out of it. It is very urgent.

I have done that.
I have given Valid from as 1.1.08 to 31.12.999.
But there are some transaction that has to be posted as of 31.12.2007. When the entries are passed, i get an error Msg,
Cost center XXX20 is not assigned to any business area.
How do i solve this issue.

Some error in creation of Work Center

Dear Experts,
After completely creating the project, I tried to check the chart for scheduling, but to my surprise no dates were appearing and the scheduling chart was also not proper. After lots of permutation and combinations I realised that the work center(RENOV) that I created had some effect(or difference) that the dates and duration was not getting picked up from the internal activity tab on project builder(CJ20N) screen.
Hence I created a new Work Center (Ren1), which was just a copy of another working Work Center. When I used this work center along with my existing activity (ABCD) I could see the duration appearing in the dates tab and my project could also show proper schedule lines.
I did side by side comparison of the RENOV and REN1, apparently they are alike in appearance. I am curious to know what could be the reason for this anomaly.

When I am trying to activate Dummy Profit Center I am getting this error
"A profit center scenario is active in new General Ledger Accounting
Message no. FAGL_LEDGER_CUST155".

Problem while creating PO (Cost center error)

Dear Expert,
While Raising PO through ME21N, we are getting an error for cost center budget exceeded for 2011.
The below is the error.
Budget for Cost Center 2110404 getting exceeded for year 2011. Please check
Message no. ZCO_VALIDATIONS004
The cost center is newly created in the fiscal year 2011 & the budget is assigned at internal order level & not on cost center level.
I want to know were the system is checking for the budget in cost center (T code).
I have checked the Tcode KPZ2, KPZ3, KP06, there is no budget assigned.

I have checked the Co Validation in Tcode OKC7 & found the below validation set for specific Cost center i.e Marketing cost center which i m using.
Cost Center IN
FIVAL_MARKETINGCC ( Marketing cost centers for Validations ) AND NOT
Activity type LIKE 'HR' AND NOT Activity type LIKE 'TR'
AND NOT Activity type LIKE 'AZ' AND NOT*
Ref. Transactn LIKE 'TR' AND NOT*
Ref. Transactn LIKE 'HR' AND NOT Ref. Transactn LIKE 'A'
AND Amount in LC <> '0.00'
Please let me know if you can give any inputs on the same to resolve my issue.

MIRO Cost Element error for Cost center

Hi,
When i am doing MIRO - there are some price variances. System is giving the error to maintain the Cost center for that price differance cost element.
But i have already maintain the Cost center for that Cost element in OKB9 Transaction. Why the system is asking for Cost center assignment again?

Hi Sunil,
Maintain the OKB9 settings with valuation area mandatory and dont give business area in the sub-sequent screen. Maintain only Valuation area and Cost center. It will not give any error and it will pull the cost center from OKB9.

Cost Center does not exist for a particular period - Solution

We have encountered an error in the subject,
COST CENTER does not exist for a particular period
Solution:
1) Either extend the Posting period for the invoicing date
2) Or enter the Cost Center as PO number in Sales Order
Please do add your comments if there are different ways to solve this error

Actual activity price does not exist for cost center / activity type

Hi,
We are trying to upload the time sheet related data(number of hours an employee workred on a project) ect from Non SAP to SAP.
We have used a customized program and have loaded the data from se38.
All this HR data will be saved in CAT2
Later we transfer the time related data into SAP FI/CO using CAT7.
+When tested with a couple of employees time sheets, they got uploaded in SE38 proerly and when transfered it through CAT7 it was properly taking the hour*rate is cost and was reflecting in the respective cost element.
For a few time sheets in SE38 we were getting an error saying that the cost center(100501)/ activity type(EAT001) does not exist for 2010.
Hence we have taken, FY 2010, the cost centes and activity types in KP26 and have given the planned Activity as 1. No planned cost in KP06.
We have run the price calculation forr the FY 2010.
Then we were able to uplaod the time sheets, but when we tried to transfer the data through CAT7, it throws an error saying no activity price exist for cost center 100501/ activity type EAT001. If I ignore the warning an proceed, no amount is being calculated.
When uploaded employee time sheets before, all the cost were getting claculated and were entering into the respective cost elements, but now no amounts are being calculated and it is taking Zero.
When checked the previous years data i.e, 2009 all amounts are fine, in KSII I can see the activity quantity filled with some numbers in 2009, where from are they comming? I have checked KBk6 nothing was mentioned.

I never used CAT* though, but the error means that you need to maintain a activity price in KBK6 (Actual price)

Please help me to resolve " No substitute cost center mainta

We are working on SAP 4.6c version.
In my project,HR and FI servers are different.
I am facing a issue which pertains to HR-FI -ALE Integration and that error is " No substitute cost center maintained" this error encountered when i am trying to do posting for payroll.
We do not have a substitute cost center in our project.From HR perspective, cost center is having a relationship with the position and in turn in Info type 0001 personnel number is linked to Cost center and the position.I have checked the validity of position,cost center and employee's start date and end date.I haven't found any discrepancy on the validity periods.
Hence please suggest me ways to overcome this issue.

System is asking alternative cost center for your company code.
Please create the a new cost center, then assign to your company code in the table of TKA3G.
Or else go to path:
Payroll-> Payroll Singapore ->Posting to financial accounting->Activities in the AC-System->Set up fixed cost postings and substitute cost centers->Set up substitute cost centers .
For each country text will vary. but fixed substitute cost center name will be appear.
Ask to your FI guys then they will create a new cost center.
For fixed cost center assign cost center to your cost element.(V_TKA30)

Org Unit inheritance link to Parent Cost Center - is this Config?

We started at a new client and have difficulty maintaining the Org Structure A 011 relationships to child Org Units. The system undoes our implicit links. We want the implicit links to be there and not inherited. Is it possible to switch off the inheritance in config?

what do you mean when you say the system 'undoes' your implicit links? Did you mean the system undoes the inherited cc value by using the explicit cc-assignment done at an org unit level? if yes that is how sap works,... the options are
a. do not do explicit creation of cost center to org unit . that way assigning a cost center at the top org unit will suffice as that will be inherited to all org units down the structure. But this is not a workable business scenario at all.
b. determine the explicit cost center assignments at each org unit level and do the assignment accordingly.
lastly : I dont think inheritence of cost center is something you can deactivate in img.

Changes to Profit center assigned to cost center

We have a scnario in which the profit center assigned to the cost center master has to be changed. We have been advised also to change the validity period of the same from the date of change of the profit center .However, the cost center has been used to for some data postings with the old profit center maintained in the cost center master. Now my query is:
1. What is the impact of changing the profit center in cost center master? In our case, some data has been posted to the cost center when the old profit center was maintained.
2. Why should we change the validity period of the cost center after changing the profit center assigned to the cost center?
3. Also, what is the way to transfer the entries which have been posted to the old profit center to the new profit center?

hi,
1) The impact of profit center is more in the cost center. when ever we assign profit center to cost center. the cost will be updated automatically. so there is no direct posting in profit center only statstical posting are generated.
2) second one when we want to create profit center first chek it out profit center valid and upto. if same is not maintained in creation of cost center . so u must have to change the validity periods
3) i am not sure this one i thing 7KEH OR 1KEF TC is there any way tommorow i will give the answer this questions.

How to Book Activity Type to the Cost Center

Hi Guys
How should I put Activity type and a value to it in the cost center.
In the Assessment Cycle I am getting the error as the reciever : Cost Center has Activity type assigned to it but there is no value in the Activity type.
Can some one help me out on how the activity is initially linked to the Cost Center.
and how will we put activity value in the cost center.

Hi,
Use T.code KP26.
Here enter the version as '0' & then enter the activity type, cost center & then click the overview icon in the top.
A new screen will appear, here you can enter the fixed/vairable price.
This activity type is to be assigned in the work center (T.code cr02), costing tab.
