Hi,
*ORA-12640: Authentication adapter initialization*
In SQLNET.ora file
Put on comment the line SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS) by adding a # at the beginning
Then you have #SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
Then try again.

  • Error in DB13 scheduled backup

    Hi All,
We schedule db13 backup in SAP on DB6 database (WIN2K3 OS) the backup is completing successfully but it was giving couple of errors in JobLog. Please find the error messages as follows
"Action deleted in SDBAP at 20061129225959"
"Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE"
Can any one tell me is there any problem with this error. Or can i ignore if we ignore this error can we able to restore this backup file?
    Thanks in advance.....
    Eshwar B

    Hi Eshwar,
This is a message related to jobs which have been scheduled periodically. If someone deletes such a periodic job in DB13, the job in SM37 is not deleted immediately but only gets an invalidation timestamp. If the invalidated job tries to start again in SM37, it fails with the error message you experienced.
Normally you can ignore this, as long as DB13 itselfs shows correct results. You should not interprete the jobs in SM37 only.
Depending on your SAP release there is a background job which cleans up such invalidated SM37 jobs
    Best regards
    Ralf

  • Errors in Offline Backup via DB13 SAP & Oracle on Linux

OS: Linux Database : Oracle Systems Affected : Production & Disaster Recovery Server
    Hi
We have offline backup scheduled every friday via SAP the backup runs fine & copies all the files in the backup directory but when i go see the backup logs in DB 14 i see the Offline Backup ending with Error Code 0005 & when i see the Detail logs i see following in red
    BR0278E Command output of '/oracle/UHP/102_64/bin/sqlplus /nolog < /oracle/UHP/sapbackup/.beelhrfo.spi':
    BR0279E Return code from '/oracle/UHP/102_64/bin/sqlplus /nolog < /oracle/UHP/sapbackup/.beelhrfo.spi': 0
BR0302E SQLPLUS call for database instance UHP failed
BR0306E Start and open of database instance UHP failed
Also if i check the BRARCHIVE i see them ending with following errors in Detail Log
    BR0278E Command output of 'LANG=C cd /oracle/UHP/sapreorg && LANG=C cp spaceUHP.log paramUHP.log /backup/UHPARCH//UHP':

BR0222E Copying /oracle/UHP/saparch/archUHP.log to/from /backup/UHPARCH//UHP failed due to previous errors
Please also note that we have a Disaster Recovery Server too & the above mentioned errors are in our (Production )Primary Database & once this backu finished the DR Server stops getting any log files, this happens only when this offline backup on every friday runs,
    Issues
The backup ends with errors although the backup file is generated & all data is copied
DR Server dont get redo log files after this offline backup on every friday

for the Cp errors i will see the permissions in backup/UHP ( this error is happening in online backup ) my main concern is the error occured in offline backup as it is somehow connected with our DR SERVER NOT GETTING THE LOG FILES EVEN AFTER THE SYSTEM IS UP ( yes if the primary is down no logs will be shipped to standby i know that but even after the primary is up after a offline backup via SAP via DB 13 the standby dont get any log files unless i restart the database and SAP )
So the error in the offline backup mentioned above in my post occurred at 29 OCT 15: 45  20
BR0302E SQLPLUS call for database instance UHP failed
BR0306E Start and open of database instance UHP failed
after this my primary database comes up & sap starts but the DR server dont get any logs & also the backup logs show the above errors in red
Given below is the text from Oracle alert file for the same time duration when the system tries to start the database & the above mentioned error comes up in opening the database time Stamp : OCT 29 15: 45 20
Deprecated system parameters with specified values:
    log_archive_start
End of deprecated system parameter listing
This is the only oracle alert log errors i can find relevant to database instance errors from DB 14
moreover in the alert file it also starts the data broker service relevant to i guess DR server in that all seems fine it starts everything then it gives this error & then keeps giving errors ( from oracle alert log file )
Error 12154 received logging on to the standby

  • Db13 backup restoration

    hi experts,
We are on win2003 and orale10g and we do online db13 backup alloline + redo log .now we have to restore this backup on test instance.can anybody guide me the exact steps involved and documentations if availabe.

Are you trying to restore on same SID or different, if it is same SID then, please find the below steps:
Hope the below gives you a full idea
"Steps for Restore and Recovery of
    SAP system using Brtools"
1     Check the sapmnt directory, SAP kernel and oracle executables
2     check the sap operating system users (i..e, ora<sid>, <sid>adm) with appropriate user IDs' and group membership. (Note: the Uids' of the SAP operating system users and GIDs' must be same as it was before disaster)
3     Check the Operating System groups (i.e., sapsys, dba, oper) with appropriate Group IDs'
4     Check for the Successful backup taken with brbackup and the tapes related to same
5     Check the init<sid>.sap, especially change the tape_address parameter,
6     check the sap directories used by brtools (/oracle/<SID>/sapbakcup, /oracle/<SID>/saparch, /oracle/<SID>/sapreorg, /oracle/<SID>/sapcheck), if necessary create it with ora<sid> as owner and dba as group
7     Connect the tape drive to the system and insert tapes in to it.
8     Check the Backup in the tape using command "brbackup -I show". This will show the backup date, tape label, etc
9     "Restore the backup logs as well as init<sid>.sap, init<sid>.ora saved while backup using backup ""brrestore -n all_log=<alternate location>""
(Note: this takes much time, since it reads the whole tape. So please be patience and donot cancel this step. Also we cannot restore the database without the detailed log)"
10     The above command will restore all the files like init<sid>.ora, init<sid>.sap, backup detail log, summary log.
11     Replace the existing files with the files restored from the alternate location to the original location
12     Check the mount points and permissions for sapdata<n> folders (i.e., owner - ora<sid>, group  - dba, file permissions 755)
    13     start the datafiles restoration using command - "brrestore -b <detail log name>.<ext> - m full"
14     Brrestore will create the sub directories as required and as in detail log specified
15     Brrestore will start restoring the datafiles as per detail logs
16     Once the datafiles restoration is completed, it restores Controlfile in to sapbackup folder and copies the controlfile as specified in the detail log
17     Check the control_files parameter in init<sid>.ora file and confirm whether the files are at the correct location. If the controlfiles are at different locations, check the path of all files and change the control_file parameter in init<sid>.ora
18     Mount the database, to do this execute sqlplus "/ as sysdba" and then in the sql prompt type sql script "startup mount"
19     This will mount the database if control files are in correct location as in init<sid>.ora and are not corrupt
20     Restore the archive logs from the archive logs backup taken with brarchive.
21     To Restore, insert the archive log tape in the tape drive
22     Ensure that the tape address parameter tape_address is correct in init<sid>.sap
23     To restore archive logs we have to restore summary as well as detail log of archive log backup
24     To restore the archive log backup log, execute the command - brrestore -n all_logs=<alternate location>. This will restore all logs saved in the backup like init<sid>.sap, init<sid>.ora, summary and detail log
25     Copy the summary and detail log from alternate locaiton to original location i.e., /oracle/<SID>/saparch
26     Execute the sql script recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;  in the sql prompt. This command will show the archive log file that will be necessary for recovery of the database.
27     To restore the archive log files, check in detail log file the archive logs saved in the backup. To restore the logs backed in the backup execute, brrestore -a <archive log a>-<archive log b>. This command will restore the archive logs from archive log a to archive log b to default location /oracle/<SID>/oraarch
28     Start applying the archive logs using sql script - recover database using backup controlfile until cancel; This will give the archive log file, check whether we have all the logs along with the file specified
29     Restore the all the archive logs available in the backup. Follow steps 21 to 25
Note: if we had added any datafile to any tablespace. The archive log will be switched from online redo log to offline redo log file (if we use brtools to add or extend datafile). When we try to add this archive log file, then we get an error, ORA-01111: name for data file <id> is unknown - rename to correct file and the correct file name with location will be displayed. But if we have extended the datafile, then applying the archive log of that time will extend the file automatically
To solve this problem , check the alert log file, the below error will be displayed
ORA-01244: unnamed datafile(s) added to controlfile by media recovery
         ORA-01110: data file <file id>: '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata<n>/<sid>_<no.,>/<sid>.data<no.,>'
Check the unnamed file in v$datafile table using query "select FILE#, NAME from V$datafile where FILE# = <id>;"
This will show the name of the file as in the controlfile. We have to rename the file and create the physical file; to do this execute "alter database create datafile '/oracle/<SID>/920_64/dbs/UNNAMED00<file id>' as '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata<n>/<sid>_<no.,>/<sid>.data<no.,>';"
         Start Applying the archive logs using sql script - recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;
30     Open the database using sql command - "alter database open resetlogs;", this will open the database in read/write mode and reset the archive log number to 0, the archive log generated will be started with number - 1
31     Check the connectivity of the Database with sap using a tool given by SAP i.e., R3trans. Which checks the connectivity to the database. Start the listener - lsnrctl start and execute R3trans -d. The output of the r3trans -d should be 0, else analyze the error and go ahead.
32     If the R3trans tool return code is 0, then start sap.To start sap switch to user <sid>adm  (use su - <sid>adm give the password if prompted) and execute startsap. This will start both database if not started and then sap
34     Brbackup doesnot take the backup of the tempfiles in any of the backup. So after opening the database we have to create the temporary datafiles. To add tempfiles execute the sql script : "alter tablespace PSAPTEMP add tempfile '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata<n>/temp_<no.,>/temp.data<no.,>' SIZE 6144M;". This will add a temp file of size 6GB
    Hope this helps you

  • I am having issues with Time Machine. Error message "The backup disk image could not be created.

Error message "The backup disk image could not be created." I have tried everything I have found online in the community from TM full reset  to changing my computers name. Anything else I can try? I am using a Seagate external HD with a connection through my router. I spent an hour on the phone with seagate and everything is ok on the HD end.
TM sees it and it is mounted but cannot go any further. HELP?!!!!
    Thanks

How should it be connected? It has a usb port and ethernet. The USB on the ExHD looks like the port on the back of my computer, so I would need one wth the same ends? Do they make those?
I can usually fix most my comp problems myself, but this new ExHD has stumped me.
    Thanks for your help.

The troubleshooting C17 is the specific article.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
This is generally a Lion error.. and you will need 5.6 utility to get access to the disk area.
So download the real utility. Run it instead of v6 toy version.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Go to the manual setup, disk page and click on disconnect all users.. that will unmount all users connected to the disk and allow it to start working. But there are a number of other issues that are possible cause. Pondini lists some of them.

Make sure that there are no other Macs backing up at the present time.
Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
    Count to ten
Plug the power cord back in
This will "fix" things about 98% of the time. Post back if you are in the unlucky 2% category.

I have tried the backup multiple times and it crashes in different places each time - it seems.
I did the select all and "ctrl W".  This did nothing.  Did you really mean "ctrl + W"?  Remember I have version 4.0.
I was able to do a successful back up onto a drive that has none of my pictures on it.  Could this be the problem?  I have an external hard drive that I have been using for my backups which have been working just fine.  I recently started storing my pictures in my catalog on this external hard drive.  Since then, I have not been able to back up to that drive.  Nor have I been able to back up to any other drive that has pictures on it.

  • Error in taking backup of RBS enabled content database!

    Hi All,
I have implemented RBS for SharePoint 2013 / SQL Server 2012. While I need to
take backup of RBS enable site collection and I received the following
    errors
    Site Collection Backup
Current Job Status No operation in progress. Previous Job
    Status Failed
    Completed 2/15/2015 3:55 AM Duration (hh:mm:ss) 0:00:02
Recovery Step To recover the data, use the PowerShell restore command
Restore-SPSite. For more details, type Restore-SPSite -? at the PowerShell command prompt.
Error Message There was a generic database error. For more information, see the included exception.
I could not find any relevant TechNet or blog post pertaining to this error. SharePoint 2013 gives general
    backup and restore strategies.
Q: How could take a backup and restore for RBS enabled content database?
Please suggest how I could achieve this. Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sandy

    Hi Sandy,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to backup and restore RBS enabled content database in SharePoint.
If you use the local FILESTREAM provider with RBS, you can use built-in SharePoint tools to back up and restore. These operations back up and restore both the metadata and the BLOB store. If you use the remote RBS provider, you must carefully coordinate
    the backup and restore processes.
It is very important to take note of the filestream provider name. Then you can detach database, and copy primary file, log file and BLOB storage folder to new server and attach.
It is also important to remember to enable FILESTREAM on all nodes of the cluster. Without it, SQL query to attach database doesn't work.
Here are some posts, please check if they are useful for you:
