Error in DB13 scheduled backup

Hi All,
We schedule db13 backup in SAP on DB6 database (WIN2K3 OS) the backup is completing successfully but it was giving couple of errors in JobLog. Please find the error messages as follows
"Action deleted in SDBAP at 20061129225959"
"Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE"
Can any one tell me is there any problem with this error. Or can i ignore if we ignore this error can we able to restore this backup file?
Thanks in advance.....
Eshwar B

Hi Eshwar,
This is a message related to jobs which have been scheduled periodically. If someone deletes such a periodic job in DB13, the job in SM37 is not deleted immediately but only gets an invalidation timestamp. If the invalidated job tries to start again in SM37, it fails with the error message you experienced.
Normally you can ignore this, as long as DB13 itselfs shows correct results. You should not interprete the jobs in SM37 only.
Depending on your SAP release there is a background job which cleans up such invalidated SM37 jobs
Best regards
Ralf

  • Error if we schedule Backup in DB13

    Hi Friends,
I am getting an error, if we schedule back up from DB13. It is saying "file size is greater than it can fit in an cpio header--limit is 32 bits". This error is occuring when PSAPDATA3\undo_1\undo.data1 file is in backup process. And undo.data1 file is 5GB in size. Is this could be problem or any other problem with settings in InitSID.sap. Please help me with your valuable solutions.
    Regards,
    Nageshwar

    HI nageshwar,
Check the initSID.sap file for parameters CPio, dd that has mentioned. Change that according to  your OS and the tape parameters also needed to be set based on your OS. After doing changes, try the backup.

I set up other job from DB13 (Verify database) and also it not ran well, it show an error too, but a diferent one:

I also checked the permissions in /usr/sap folder and sub folders as per the link you put here... and everything is well... but tell me one thing which owner/group must have set in /usr/sap/ directory? In that help sap link it doesn´t show any suggestion in this column, so I don´t know in this case which owner and group must have set... In my case the /usr/sap/ and dba as group:

  • Re: Schedule Backup: Initialisation Error

    Hi all,
The oracle database I am using now is 11G R2 and I am having problems doing schedule backup. I have already looked up the forums and some of the solutions posted included
    1) Restarting EM
    2) Recreate the schedule
The link to the forum post is here. Re: Initialization error stopping execution of scheduled backup
However, I would like to know what is the root cause for this problem, and why this is happening.
Could it be due to the database experiencing ORA-12519 issues? (http://www.dadbm.com/2011/11/oracle-listener-refused-connection-ora-12519-troubleshooting/)

    Hi Ultragc88,
    Thanks for your post.
What’s the detailed version of your TFS 2012?
To create Backup plan, you must be a member of both of the following groups:
    1
The Administrators security group on the server that is running the administration console for Team Foundation.
    2
The SQL Server System Administrator security group. In addition, the service account for TFS (TFSService) must have
SQL Server Perform Back Up and Create Maintenance Plan permissions set to
Allow on each instance of SQL Server that hosts the databases that you want to back up.
    3
The Farm Administrators group in SharePoint Foundation 2010, or an account with the permissions required to back up the farm.
If you ensure you have the above permissions correctly, but still occur the same error, please share the full backup plan creating log here.

  • I/O device error when trying to backup system image on my K330B running Windows 7 Home Premium

I set up my Idea Centre K330B to schedule complete system backups to an external HDD once a week.  This worked fine for three months, then about a month ago a scheduled backup failed due to "device error encountered with either the source or the destination (0x8078012D)".  It also gave "Additional information: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.  (0x8007045D)"
I ran chkdsk/r on both the backup drive ( E: ) and the system drive ( C: ) and no problems were found.  The backup drive has plenty of available space.  I tried the backup to a freshly NTFS-formated external drive.  I tried the backup with my BitDefender 2012 Anti-virus disabled. I tried the backup after booting in safe mode.  Nothing works.
If I specify to backup only C: and not the reserved partition the backup completes with no problems.
I get the same error condition whether I perform the backup with Windows or the Lenovo backup software.
Is it possible I have a disk corruption on the reserve partition that is not found and repaired by the chkdsk/r C: operation?
I'm thinking about saving all important user files and rebooting to the factory settings, but if the reserver partition is damaged I might end up with a dead 4-month-old PC.
I would greatly appreciate any help or advice as to how to get these backups going again.

I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode.  Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed.  I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides.

  • Windows Server 2012 Windows Backup failed with following error code '0x8078006B' (Windows Backup failed to create the shared protection point on the source volumes.).

The Volume Shadow Copy service initially was running under the context of System, so we thought that ‘System’ doesn’t have permissions to access network shares.
When the Volume Shadow Copy service was running under the context of System, this was the error logged:
“failed with following error code '0x8078014B' (There was a failure in creating a directory on the backup storage location.).”
Which is likely due to not having permissions to write to the network location.
This is a scheduled backup trying to write to a network location, so we changes the service to run under the context of an account that does have permissions to write to the network share.
Then the error changed to this:

  • Scheduled Backup & Manual Backup not Inintiating for CM

I am trying to do a Backup for CM. But it is not getting started it showd the error "Backup initiation timed out. Master agent might still be processing this operation or may be down.". I checked the DRF Master and Local services- it was up and running. I Restarted the service and tried, still it shows the same error and does not backup. The Backup device, scheduler is all configured and the Backups took place till last week. The Backup server is up and other backups for different sites are successful.
Guys please help me out as an upgrade is scheduled later tomorrow for that server. Thank You.

    Hi Bijoy Jack.
I had the same problem, and I stopped the antivirus protection service on my FTP server, after this solved my problem.
Maybe you need try this if you have a firewall or other protection file or network.
    Regards.
    Mariano.

  • Error using Window Server Backup on 2012R2 Hyper-V to network share

    Hi
    I have a Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V server. It runs a Windows 2012 R2 VM (called
    server-1).
I want to backup the VM to a network location (\\network-1\server-1_backup$). To do this, I installed Windows Server Backup from the command line and configured a backup to look like this:
    C:\Users\admin>wbadmin enable backup
    wbadmin 1.0 - Backup command-line tool
    (C) Copyright 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
    The scheduled backup settings:
Bare metal recovery : Not Included
    System state backup: Not Included
    Volumes in backup: (null)
    Components in backup: HyperV\server-1
    Files excluded: (null)
Advanced settings: VSS Backup Option (FULL)
    Location to store backup: \\network-1\server-1_backup$\
Times of day to run backup: 04:00
But when I run this backup manually, I get the following error:
    C:\Users\admin>wbadmin start backup
    wbadmin 1.0 - Backup command-line tool
    (C) Copyright 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
Do you want to create a backup using the same configuration that you use for
    scheduled backups?

The log file then looks like this:

The odd thing is that if I set this up from a Windows 2012 Server using the GUI to exactly the same network destination, the backup works no problem. It just doesn't work when using Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V configured through a command line.
    Any help appreciated,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
I tested this in my lab server 2012R2  , but there's no error .
I would suggest you to create a new share folder on other server then check if the issue persists .
Writer Name: Microsoft Hyper-V VSS Writer
    Writer State: 0
    Failure Result: 81000112
    Application Result: 0

       Component Result: 8100010D
Component Message: Component reports path on network share which cannot be snapshotted. (0x8100010D)"
According to this error , please check if the VM's resource (such as VHD file) was restored on network share .
I also searched the error "ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x8100010c)" , but I can not find it within following article :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2009/09/16/diagnosing-failures-in-windows-server-backup-part-1-vss-spp-errors.aspx
Any further information please feel free to let us know .
    Best Regards,
