Error in dev trace files

Hi,
Is this something related to shared memory not being cleaned properly before restarting?
System environment: AIX 5.3, Oracle 10g, ECC6
Error in dev_trace files
ERROR => ShmDelete(1002): shmctl(6,IPC_RMID,0) (1: Not owner) [shmux.c      2986]
Thank you in advance
Regards
KVR

Please can you let me know the solution ... we've been facing this problem too ..
Many Thanks,
Shailendra

Hi there. One of my standby databases is not working properly, I mean is not synchronized with primary. Both database are 9i Release 2 running on Compaq Tru64 servers
I look for the primary trace files and I found this trace file:

The error I want to highlight is "FAIL TO PING STANDBY UMERCADO3, ERROR 3113"
I did this testings on the primary server:
    - Unix ping to standby node , ok
    - tnsping to standby database (tnsping umercado3), ok
Therefore I do not find the reason for this error. By this time I have defeered the transfer from the primary to standby.
    Any advice is welcome.
    Thanks!

Suggestion: would attempt to make a sqlplus connection from the primary to the standby using the tns entry that you have configured for the log_archive_dest parameter. you need to connect to the standby as sys.
    What happened:
I did a sqlplus connection ON THE PRIMARY DATABASE using the tns entry that is exactly the same used in log_archive_dest_2 parameter. Here is it:
    SQL> conn sys/*********@UMERCADO3 as sysdba
    Connected.
Therefore I do not think it is a problem in the standby password file.
    Any suggestions?

The specified operating system call was returned with an error.
For communication calls (receive, send, etc) often the cause of errors
    are network problems.
It could also be a configuration problem at operating system level.
(file cannot be opened, no space in the file system etc.).
Does anyone know about this?? The RFC connections between APO server and Optimizer server are working fine and there is no issue. However, for any dialog/background process we are getting the error above. Please suggest.

    Hi all,
I have encountered with an error in my oracle bdump trace files,
KEWRGRFR: failed waiting for remote flushers, rcode=-125.
Could some one explain me why this error occurs? I face a large number of lock in my database is this happening due to this error? Please help
Mine is a two node rack system with 10gR2 and Solaris 5.10 system and no alert log message during this time
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: user650425 on Jan 6, 2010 4:17 PM

    Hello Nicolas,
Based on the configuration he has 10gR2 2 Nodes RAC with Solaris 10, I think he definitely bought them. If not then he will not be able to view most of the performance views too.
They expensive but they are the best yet in the market and save a lot of time in diagnosis and root cause analysis.

    Hi friend,
Its correctly mentioned that there is a problem / error in font exchange table.
So use check and try to use the font which is available in your system.
If that is ok then explain us  clearly what is these
    Variants : R2 , TEMPLATE_R1 and R1B.
If you explain it briefly we can get some more better understanding in it.
    Thanks,
    Sri Hari

  • KQRCMT: Write failed with error=604 Errors in Trace File

Anyone know what errors like these in the trace file might indicate? I'm trying to diagnose why one of our application processes died without warning, and found this in the process trace file right about the time when it died. My Oracle Support turns up very few hits, none of them helpful. Google likewise had very little to say on the matter.
Also there were no errors thrown in the alert log during the time indicated in the trace file messages.

  • Capturing errors in trace file

If I intentionally out a error in report and run it through report bulider, the trace file shows proper errors.
But, If I try to run it from command prompt, it produces the trace file but dosen't give error information. I have tried giving TRACEOPT = TRACE_ALL. and all other trace options. Do we have any other way to capture errors in report.?
My reqirement is to log the errors produced in the report to a table, and find out the successful execution of the report.

  • Listener trace file: Winsock 54 errors

I am seeing many of the following error ("soc nnn error - operation=5, ntresnt[0]=517, ntresnt[1]=54...") in my Listener trace file.
This is on an Oracle 9.2.0.4 server (Windows 2003 Server R2).
If my intepretation of the Listener trace is correct, this corresponds to Winsock Error 10054 (Connection reset by peer).
SQL*net trace files at the client side (a separate host) do not indicate a corresponding error - all the trace files appear "clean".
So what is the peer in this context? My initial thought was that the Oracle server had established a session for the client, but then the client
had appeared to disappear from the network. But I would have expected to see something in the client trace files at the same time.
This is an example from the Listener trace file.

  • Writing to a custom developer's trace file

Is it possible to create a custom dev trace file and write to it from a custom abap program?  We've developed a custom ABAP program and we'd like to write errors to a custom dev trace file that can be monitored in ST11.  I know we can write to the SLOG using FM RSLG_WRITE_SYSLOG_ENTRY, but I don't want to fill up the SLOG in transaction SM21.  I'd rather write to a custom log file in ST11.  Is it possible to create your own dev trace log file?
    Thanks,

  • Unable to write trace files in Background dump destination in oracle 10g

    Hi All,
    OS version : RHEL 5.7
    DB version : 10.2.0.4
cluster : 2 node RAC database
Today I faced a strange behaviour for one of our production database. Its a 2-node rac database. On the first node there is no auto generation of trace files in the BAckground dump destination. I am able to see trace files of second in its background dump dest. But the strange behaviour occurs on the first node. I see only Alert log file in the background dump dest . Inspite of getting an error which shows trace file generated but no file occurs in the bdump. The following is the error but physically there no trace file generated:
    Errors in file /oracle/db/admin/<sid>/bdump/<sid>j0011558.trc:
ORA-12012: error on auto execute of job 94377
ORA-12008: error in materialized view refresh pathCan anyone have any idea for this strange behaviour. There are no maintenance script for removal of trace files.

  • Agent10g: Size of Management Agent Log and Trace Files get oversize ...

    Hi,
    I have the following problem:
I had installed the EM Agent10g (v10.2.0.4) on each of all my Oracle servers. I've done a long time ago (a few months or a few years depending on wich server it was installed). Recently, I've got PERL error because the "trace" file of the Agent was too big (the emagent.trc was more than 1 Gb) !!!
I don't know why. I checked on a particular server on the AGENT_HOME\sysman\config (Windows) for the emd.properties file.
The following properties are specified in the emd.properties file:
    LogFileMaxSize=4096
    LogFileMaxRolls=4
    TrcFileMaxSize=4096
    TrcFileMaxRolls=4
This file had never been modified (those properties correspond to the default value). It's the same situation for all Agent10g (setup) on all of the Oracle Server.
    Any idea ?
NOTE: The Agent is stopped and started weekly ...
    Thank's
    Yves

Why don't you truncate the trace file weekly. You can also delete the file. The file will be created automatically whenever there is a trace.

  • Capping dev_ms trace file size

hi - i'm wondering if anyone knows a way to help.  we have been asked by SAP to run our msg server at an elevated trace level (trace level 3 - we set it from SMMS).  this writes out a huge amt of data to the dev_ms trace file.
the default trace file (dev*) size, per the rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING param default is "on, 10m" (i.e. 10mb).
that applies to "all" the dev* trace files obviously.
w/ our elevated dev_ms trace set, it's overwrapping in ~3 min ...so between dev_ms.old and dev_ms, we never have more than ~10 min of logs kept at any one time.
the pt of us running at this elevated dev_ms trace level is so we can capture (save off) the trace file and send to SAP the next time our msg server crashes.
our SAP file system mountpoint /usr/sap/<SID> is limited in size...and by setting rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING value to a higher value it affects all the dev* files, not just the 1 file i really care about increasing the capped file size on (dev_ms).
**QUESTION*:  does any one know a way i could keep dev_ms capped at a large value like 100mb yet keep all the other dev files at the normal 10mb default?  thanks in advance

    1.  Increase rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING to 100MB.
    2.  Set (SM51) > Select All Processes > Menu > Process > Trace > Active Components > Uncheck everything and set trace level to 1.
    3.  Menu > Process > Trace > Dispatcher > Change Trace Level > Set to 2
Wouldn't this essentially just increase dev_ms to 100MB while leaving other dev* trace files to not log anything?

  • Trace file errors interpretation

We are running Oracle 11.2.0.3 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server with an app server on the same. Our app has a search function that has recently started timing out on us. Sometimes intermittently but often now. I've ran a trace in our dev environment, below code, in an attempt to track down the issue but I'm finding very little useful information in relation to the errors I see in the trace file below. My experience in deciphering trace code is nill so I was hoping there would be someone out there who could elaborate a little on how they interpret these errors or provide a resource so I could do so myself. I appreciate any help provided.
