Error in EMC while attempting to connect to Exchenge server
My Exchange server was working fine until a server restart for a virtual hard disk expansion. After the restart the users can send and receive mails without problems but when I try to open the Exchange Management Console I get the next error when expanding
the Microsoft Exchange On-Premises node:
"The following error occurred while attemting to connect to the specified Exchange server 'server.domain':
The attempt to connect to http://server.domain/PowerShell using "Kerberos" authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: WinRM cannot process the request. The following error occurred while using Kerberos
authentication: An unknown security error occurred."
I have recently aquired the administration of this server and unfortunately the previous admin didn't left any documentation about the installation and configuration.
Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Take a look at this
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;970923
Its for SCVMM but should work for Exchange 2010 too

Hello,
Make sure your SQL Server service is started.
Make sure TCP\IP and names pipes protocol is enabled
Make sure you have made an exception in firewall for SQL Server connection
Make sure SQL Server browser service is enabled
Make sure you connect with correct name hostname\instance name for named instance,MSSQLSERVER for default instance and Hotname\SQLEXPRESS for express edition.
Please make sure you use port no when connecting to SQL server listeing on different port (hostname\instance ,portno)

I have tried from so many forms. This is so frustrating. Thank for everyone/anyone who wants to help. So this is what happened: I had to uninstall my previous sqlserver 2012(which worked great) for some reason, and I uninstalled everything from that download.
Then I installed the trial edition of sql server 2012 (64 Bit) and It wouldn't connect to the database. (Error mentioned above.) My local DB is COWBOYS. (COWBOYS is also my computer name.) After this, I have tried downloading sqlexpress and sqlserver 64bit
many times and cannot connect to my local DB.
How do I connect to my Local DB?
Also, I think this might help: (When I run sqlserve.exe, which I was able to find in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\LocalDB\Binn, I get an error: Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with(Error getting
instance ID from name). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
I would happily re install it, if it wasn't my 20th time.
I don't have any remote connections, I don't use username/password, only window authentication. I work mostly on visual studio, but without able to store /retrieve data, I don't know how to survive.
May be the solution is very simple, but I am too frustrated.
Some of the things I have tried:
From a command prompt, enter one of the following commands:
net start "SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER)" OR
net start "SQL Server Agent(instancename)"(for instance)
on my sql configuration, I cannot start anything because there is nothing there to start. I can post more details, if that would help. Also, some more details about the error:

Any one that can help me, I will be greatful. Thank you so much. p.s. please ask me anything if you have any questions. It sounds like there are a couple things going on here. First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance. Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error. If you get an error, post the error message your hitting. If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect. If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog. Ex: "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name. However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format. Ex: COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install. Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server
This was originally posted in the SSIS Forum, but a member of the IS team suggested it be moved here. "Most recently I got this error (Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) so does this mean that SQL Server is still trying to use named pipes even if I only have TCP/IP enabled in SQL Server Configuration Manager?"
I'm having the same issue, and here's our scenario:
Installed SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition on a machine with WinXP SP2 and enabled remote connections over TCP/IP
Installed SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on a machine with Win2003 SP1 (remote connections over TCP/IP enabled by default)
Attempted to 'Copy Database' from Developer Edition TO Standard Edition using 'Detach and Attach' method and recieved the error on the Win2003 machine: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server
Attempted to 'Copy Database' from Developer Edition TO Standard Edition using 'SQL Management Objects' method and recieved the error on the Win2003 machine: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server
Reinstalled Standard Edition on the Win2003 SP1 machine
Checked all the settings on both machines several times, restarted services etc., and read every post I could find referencing the error.
Same error
Lost my last hair
Thanks in advance,
SteveNan,
Before I get on with this post - thank you for your reply.
The XPSP2 machine actually had the firewall disabled, and I verified that it could accept connections on the the associated ports with the Shields Up utility. I tested this on both machines.
I can connect to the server from the XPSP2 machine, Import / Export, manage, view logs, and do everything EXCEPT get the Copy Database package to run. SQL Server Agent always fails on the last step with the following error:

Hi,
I am getting error while enabling the WCF-Custom receive location:
MSDTC encountered an error (HR=0x80000171) while attempting to establish a secure connection with system
I found solution over internet for regarding the above issue which was suggested that NETWORK SERVICE is not having required permission. Used subinacl with the following command (on Command prompt with elevated mode)
subinacl /service msdtc /grant="Network Service"=QSETIL
But the same resulted in error: Last Failed: msdtc - OpenService Error : 5 Access is denied.
Getting nowhere regarding this now. Please helpHi Harkirat,
Have you tried
these steps to Enable Network Access Securely for MS DTC?

I'm guessing that you are going trough a proxy, if so you need to set your proxy setting for playback:
View -> OpenScript preferences -> Playback -> HTTP and enter the proxy settings.

When the problem occurs, the procedure does not return anything. SQL Server was told to stop executing. Furthermore, unless you issue the command SET XACT_ABORT ON, SQL Server will not roll back any open transaction. Which is one more reason you should not
permit command timeouts.
As for why this procedure sometimes take a long time, I would primarily suspect locking. When this occurs (but before the timeout elapses!), you could use my beta_lockinfo to see if there is any blocking going on. You find it here:

Connection Error iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server
Hi iCloud users
For the first time I have experienced errors while attempting to connect to iCloud via my PC. Never had any problems previously.
The first error I received was:
"Connection Error - iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server"
After a few attempts I was able to connect to iCloud. However I was unable to access my Calendar and Contacts. I received the following error messages:
"Can't load Calendar - There was a problem loading the application"
"Can't load Contacts - There was a problem loading the application"
Has anyone out there experienced this? If so could you offer an solutions/suggestions? Is iCloud not working properly today?
Many thanks & cheers,
SueHi
I am sorry can't help you because I have same problem when login to icloude.com and try insert to Contacts!
Many times happen.

When trying to sign in to iCloud, I always get the message, iCloud has encountered a error while trying to connect to the server. How do I get in????
Hello,
Try following step and check if issue gets resolved or not.
Find Acrobat.exe on your computer. Right click the program and click 'Troubleshoot Compatibility'. Set the compatibility to Windows XP service pack 3.

Here's the sequence of events:
Setting up a new iMac.
Migration Assistant was aborted during setup and a normal setup was completed.
Then ran Migration Assistant from the newly setup account.
It ran fine, but put all the data in a new account called "user".
Renamed "user" to a new name, renamed the home folder to a new name following these instructions: OS X: How to change your account name or home directory name
Delete the account we originally created, so just have one account with the name we want and all the data, email. Works fine.
Sign into the App Store with the account we share for purchases.
Now, the problem:
Go to System Preferences to setup iCloud with a new Apple ID
Get this error: "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server."
So I'm unable to setup iCloud for photo stream, FaceTime, etc.
Internet works fine, we can get mail, etc.
Rebooting doesn't help
Ideas?never mind the problem is gone this morning.

Crystal reports 2008 sp3 : An error has occurred while attempting to load t
Hello,
Please forgive me for posting in the CR .NET forum because we are using the full Crystal Reports 2008 product and I did not see a category for it. If there is a better forum for this question, please let me know or feel free to move it.
We are having trouble deploying our crystal reports 2008 reports to a Windows Server 2008 R2 server in an aspx application...
I have been working on this issue for 4-days and cannot seem to make any progress, so I would really appreciate your help.
Our Environment:
Development Computer (32-bit, WinXP)
VS2008 (fully updated, was not installed with its Crystal Reports feature)
Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 (downloaded and installed "cr2008_sp3_fullbuild")
Database Server (64-bit)
"SERVER2" is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 server, fully updated
Web Server (64-bit)
"SERVER3" is a Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Web server.
We have an application that is installed on the Web server and it pulls data from the database server.
The webpages are accessing the database properly. There is a ShowReport.aspx webpage that has the
CrystalReportsViewer on it. We send parameters and logon information to ShowReport.aspx. ShowReport
works properly on our development computer and the report looks good, but it fails on the web server.
We downloaded CRRuntime_12_3_mlb.msi (X86) from SAP/CR and installed it on the web server without any issues.
Our application pool on the web server for this application is set to 32-bit mode. When I launch the
application, it works properly with the database and displays data on web pages, but when I try to
view a report on ShowReport, I get the following error message:
An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime.
Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly.
Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) that contains the version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) that is required.
According to everything that I have read, I have properly matched the DLLs: On the development computer, "cr2008_sp3_fullbuild" was installed; On
the web server, "CRRuntime_12_3_mlb.msi (X86)" was installed. They are both Crystal Reports 2008 and not .NET. CR.NET was not installed on our development computer, so our application was built with full Crystal Reports 2008 SP3. On our development computer, .ENGINE is 12.0.2000.0 and
the same version is on the web server.
So, I am completely at a loss as to why we are encountering this error. Help, Please!!!
Thank you in advance,
MikeHi Mike,
Did you set your project for X86 mode only? If not do so and rebuild and deploy your app.
Thank you
Don
