Error in generating HTML, PDF format

Hi guys
I am using Oracle Reports 6i with ORACLE 9i Database.
After generating my report when i tried to generated report output in HTML or PDF format then system return following error message.
PDE-PER001 Internal error (REP-3335. Unhandled Internal CA Error. depep 2).
Remember when i tried to generate HTML or PDF format on other PC file generated successfully.

Hi,
I have a design studio application I want to share publicly on BI Launch Pad for my company. The dashboard/application made in design studio works fine locally and on BI Platform public folder (through my login credentials).
However, when other people from the company try to view this DS application, it throws "Error while generating HTML"
The root cause is:
The initial exception which caused the request to fail was:
Index: 0, Size: 0
Any clue why such a thing might be happening?

What version of BI4x/patch?

If I were to guess, I'd guess that your filename is invalid. How about removing all special characters (spaces, brackets, etc.) from the device name. Also, make sure your form was compiled for HTML.
I haven't actually used the HTML driver, but these are general things you should do if you have trouble with any Central driver.

Error In Generating the PDF Form

When I'm trying to activate the PDF Form, I got a message asying Error while Generating the PDF Form.

I will try to explain the issue in detail.
I am trying to execute Tax Reporter Transaction PU19. Iam executing Quarterly Form 941 for USA for a Tax Company and a Period. This report gives an output Log and the log had generated errors in the log section General errors and Warnings.
The errors are :
Errors in generating the PDF Form : HR_F_941 and
Errors in generating the PDF Form : HR_F_941_SCHED_B
As we are new to the PDF Forms we don't know why the report has generated and how to find out by debugging or any other way.
So I need to find out how the above errors can be identified?

ERROR WHILE GENERATING THE PDF

HI gurus,
We are trying to publish BI reports in the Portal server as Iviews.
In the portal system, when I am clicking the PRINT VERSION button for the
CO cost center (area): Plan/actual: Quarterly iview, its giving the PDF file,
thats well and good.
But when if I am doing the same thing for other iviews, for example: say the iview (COcost center range: Transaction Drill-down).
I am getting the ERROR WHILE GENERATING THE PDF
The question is : its working for some standard iviews and giving error message to other std. iviews.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

"Error while generating HTML" encounterred while running prefilling cache

Hi,
We are using BI7, prefilling cache function by using Broadcaster. The prefilng cache is created OK in BEx broadcaser based on Java web and was scheduled. When we run the process chain to trigger the prefilling cache, we got the following error message "Error while generating HTML". But sometimes it is complete successfully.
Is there anyone know the reason?

How to generate a PDF format report

Hello,
here i am trying to generate the report as 'PDF' format from the form. after i run the form a parameter form comes up there i give parameter as 'IC' it should get only the IC related report in 'PDF' format. i could do this but after i close the adobe and return to the report its not over writing on the same file where i gave the DESNAME:='C:\KAVITHA8.PDF'. its taking atleast 10 minutes to rewrite on the same file.
i tried first the following way to get the PDF format output but its not even working.

THIS IS NOT WORKING TOO.

All the information you described points to the problem that reports seems can't generate to a file which already exist. You can verify that by simply doing
r30run32 C:\AC_REPORT.REP DESTYPE = FILE DESFORMAT = PDF BATCH = YES' desname=c:\temp\ac_report.pdf
several times. If first time the report is successfully generated in c:\temp\ac_report.pdf, but not the second, third time, then it looks like there is a bug on reports r30run32 executable.
You may try to find any latest patch for Reports 3.0 to see if patch can solve you problem. But keep in mind Reports 3.0 is de-supported, you are better to move to 6i or 9i reports.

Getting error in Portal "Error while generating the PDF" for BI Report

Hi Experts,
we are gettign the error while trying to generate the PDF file from the Reports.
Earlier it was working fine Adobe Reader 8 , currently we have upgrated Adobe Reader 9 in our system.
After this upggradation browser "*Failed to open PDF in Browser"*
Could you please suggest me how to diagnostic the error. Do we need to configre something in the Portal or in the Backend BI system for this.
Please suggest me the needful on this?

Field error when generated to pdf file

hi all,
please help.
I have an oracle report generated which will show numeric figures out. eg. 500.00
when this report generated to pdf file, the numeric figures field becomes 4835.50.
Does anyone comes across this issue? i checked with my software vendor and they said this is an oracle bug when generating oracle report 6i to pdf file.
Is this true?

Dynamically Generated HTML/PDF/RTF?

Hi guys,
This is similar to something I asked recently, but I've got a better idea of what I need and how to ask. I'm still fairly novice at programming, espeically applets.
I'm working on an applet for an educational purpose that will generate an array of study items...probably 30-50, I haven't decided on the size yet. It's for foreign language study, and the items are foreign phonetic characters, no more than 3 per item. I'd like to output them in a print-ready format, probably essentially a grid, with some space for the student to write their answer next to or under it. I've seen some free libraries out there that can generate pdf, rtf, and HTML, most notably the iText libraries.
I really want to do this as an applet. So my question is, how would this, or another library that one of you knows that would be better, be implemented? Would the output be a file on the server? Is there a way to make it generate the file to the users local cache or something, or give them an option to download it without it going on a server, since it is randomly generated and not uniform for other users? (I assume that would require making it a signed applet?)
Any help you can give would be really appreciated.

Error while generating interactive PDF

For the first application i am creating in web dynpro, i thought of creating a interactive form and calling it in web dynpro screen.
But there's an error...!!
I have created the adobe form in Adobe LIve Cycle Designer.
I have placed the UI element InteractiveForms in the layout tab of the view. And in the Template source have given the name of the PDF file. Have also checked the Enabled check box in the properties.
First when i executed the application it displayed the PDF, but none of the field's where editable or interactive.
Then after searching some PDF got some code which i put in the WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view.
Now it gives a Dump..!!!
Kindly suggest if i have missed out on some settings or some more code needs to be written to make the form interactive.

Rollover areas slow to show in html/pdf format

Hi
I have a series of rollover shapes with text appearing when the user hovers over the shapes. However when viewing the learning in pdf/html it takes a good 10 seconds or longer for the rollover function to appear, if at all. It's only happening with this one slide which only consists of shapes and rollovers. Any ideas?

Perhaps something on your slide has become corrupted.
Take a backup copy of your project, then try this:
Create a new blank project CPTX of the same dimensions as your current project and copy/paste all slides into the new shell project. Then test to see if the issue remains in the new project.
If it does remain, try dragging groups of objects off stage into the scrap area so that they will not be published with the output and test publish again to see if removing certain objects seems to resolve the issue.
If there are any Advanced Actions on this slide, delete them and see if that makes a difference.
Let us know how this works out.
