hai i am installing sap netweaver 2004s with a IBM DB2 as database.I got an error in Create database phase.

Open initECOMDB.ora, it may be calling D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\ECOMDB\pfile\init.ora which does not exist. Change it to the correct directory or remove it if all the required parameters are already in initECOMDB.ora. The line to look for is ifile
BTW - if your database has already been created, you can create its database control from the command line:
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create

i believe that oracle 8i are no longer supported by SAP.
By default, SAP R/3 4.7 EE should come with Oracle 9i.
Check your installer again.

In phase "Import ABAP" the installation halts with error. Can anyone please tell me what error should I search for and (possibly) what is the solution?

It is not easy, really , it has taken many hours and at the End I got the problems,.
so I have decided to pay 20 $ every month, and I can get an access IDES to SAP, ERP, ABAP.
without any problem. In ABAP, I have only Sflight ,SBOOK etc. but MARA, and others tables, dont exist, .
I know, some students have not enough money, so what can we do? every one get problem with installaion and others after installaion, with server, 3 days work, and NSP becomes RED. Yellow, etc.

Install the libXp package, that is the package which contains libXp.so.6, which is missing (see your error message)
Is this x86 or x86_64?
(in both cases you need to install the x86 version (.i386.rpm))

Error while install database instancew

hi, all:
while installing the database instance, error occurs. The error messages in sapinst.log, XCMDOUT.log, knldiag and knldiag.err file are posted below. The OS is Windows 2003/ 32Bit.
I tried to started the service SAPDB:<SID> manually, but it doesn't work also. From the OS log, the error message is alsoIt's not a valid volume: 'F:\sapdb\CRP\sapdata\DISKD0001'
Is there anyone met the same problem?

Error in installing Database Control with Database Creation Assistant

I'm trying to install the Database Control on Win2003 with the Database Creation Assistant. I get the following error. D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\ECOMDB\pfile\init.ora (The system cannot find the path specified).
Our init.ora file is not in that path and our file is named initECOMDB.ora. How do I tell DBCA the correct path and file name to use?
By the way I'm a unix guy and this is the first time I've done Oracle on Windows. The database had been created by someone else and the files are sort of slung all over the place.

I got an error like this when installing the database instance (non unicode abap system) for IDES ECC 5.0 SR1.
(I use ms sql server 2000 and windows 2003 server)

1. Check the CDs first.
2. D:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\ECC_50_ABAP_NUC\DB\IDES\Disc\DATA--> this will automatically created by sapinst command.

Error while installing database in oracle linux 4 via VMware Server Console

After this problem cleared i installed the oracle database; while installing i found another error

ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol adapter error while installing database

Hello,
I'm having troubles while installing my oracle database 10g. My server is SUN OS 5.10
When I am in the copying datafiles step, a pop up message shows up [ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol adapter error]
Could you please help me?

I am creating the database the database.
I am relatively new in Oracle but I have created a DB before and the ORACLE_SID was set after the database was created.
The steps I execute for are:
1. Install the Oracle engine (without create the DB)
2. Install the Patch
3. Create the database (dbca)
After the database is created, appears a popup (Database configuration assistance warning) where it says to set the oracle_sid among others steps.
Is it mandatory to set the ORACLE_SID before? some other configuration that I could be missing?

MSI error while installing database connectivity toolkit

Hi!
We are facing problems while trying to install the database connectivity toolkit (comes as subpart of the enterprise connectivity toolkit).
The behaviour is odd. Some months back it used to install OK. Now, it fails during installation. Pls see attached .zip file that shows image of the error messages.
Pointers:
1) The MSI error message has increasing numbering. First attempt to install gives mesages MSI4, next might be MSI8 and so on.
2) It used to install perfectly until few months back
3) We have tried to inatll it on freshly formatted computers having LV 6.1 and LV 7.1 runtimes.
4) OS is Win2000 with SP4
5) Few days ago it installed fine on a PC on which it had not installed for many months!
6) We have tried for all the CDs/backups where we had this software. It still fails.
7) All our other toolkits - Internet, SPC, Sound&Vibration, SMT continue to install flawlessly.
We are unable to see any pattern or reason for this installation failure and would appreciate any help.

Hello Kileen,
1. If you’re installing from the CD, sometimes the installer has a hard time grabbing the files from the CD. Try copying the installation CD contents over to a temporary folder on the computer and run the installer again.

2. Try changing permission settings in your registry:

> My system is Win2000 and I am unable to reach the settings mentioned in above link (which is for WinXP)
3. Turn off all virus scanners. Rerun the installation.

Kernel _In_Page error when installing database instance on IDES 4.7e

Dear expert,
I was installing the database instance of the IDES 4.7e database instance and after 3.5 hour I received the blue screen of death with kernel_in_page_error memory dump.
The system was installed on one single physical sata drive with different partitioned.
My system have dual core 2.8ghz and 1 gig of RAM.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is it because I did not install the NT patch as required in the IDES 4.6c version?

I have solved the problem and have successfully installed IDES 4.7e.
There were a few things I did and so I am not fully sure what solved the problem.
But I think it is related to one of this:
- update of patches of OS
- add %JAVA_HOME%\bin to the system path
- copy all installation files and data to the C: hard
drive instead of using the dvd rom for the kernel dvd.

Error while installing Oracle grid/Database vault in win XP service pack3

Hi,
I am trying to install oracle database grid 10.2.0.2 in win xp service pack 3. It's giving the below error.
"Could not find the main class. Program will exit"
When I am installing Database grid 10.1.0.3 it's getting installed.
I also have java 1.5 installed in my system.
I am getting the same error while installing Database vault.
Where ever it's asking for the below JRE_LOCATION in "oraparam.ini" file I am getting the error.
JRE_LOCATION=../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.4.2.8.0/1/DataFiles

JRE_LOCATION=../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.4.2.8.0/1/DataFilesPost the complete path,where the patchset is located. Make sure there's no space in the directory path. The same applies to the ORACLE_HOME directory.

Error while installing the Database instance in SAP4.7 on Server2003

Hi All,
I am trying to install SAP4.7 in server2003 which is installed on VMWare. I have successfully installed SAP instance. Now while creating database instance; i have given all the required detials and check all the paramenters. But when i click to start creating the database i got the error messgae that database instance can not be installed. I have chekced the error log but could not find the resolution.
