ERROR IN INSTALLING WLAN DRIVER

Hello, i have problem with instaling the broadcom wireless driver for HP 15-ac026tx  running on Windows 8 x64.When i download and try to install the driver i get this error please solve this...i need this driver to connect to any wifi

Hi: Your notebook is not supported by HP for W8. I would connect by ethernet, take the free upgrade to W8.1 and then download the W8.1 drivers you need. You can try this driver from a HP business notebook but I think you will have the same issue. http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6943827&swItemId=ob_145419_1&swEnvOid=4058#

  • Error building RT2860 WLAN driver in kernel 2.6.18-128.2.1.4.25.el5.i686

    Hello,
I installed VM Server v2.2.1 (kernel 2.6.18-128.2.1.4.25.el5.i686) and am trying to build the RT2860 WLAN driver from source (2010_07_16_RT2860_Linux_STA_v2.4.0.0). I installed package kernel-ovs-devel-2.6.18-128.2.1.4.25.el5.i686 and when I run make I get the following compile error:
error: expected identifier or '(' before 'void'
The offending snippet of code, from a header file, is:
    typedef VOID (*STATE_MACHINE_FUNC)(VOID Adaptor, MLME_QUEUE_ELEM Elem);
    typedef struct STATEMACHINE {
    ULONG Base;
    ULONG NrState;
    ULONG NrMsg;
    ULONG CurrState;
    STATE_MACHINE_FUNC *TransFunc;
    } STATE_MACHINE, *PSTATE_MACHINE;
The odd thing is, I'm able to build the source when I replace kernel-ovs-devel-2.6.18-128.2.1.4.25.el5.i686 with kernel-devel-2.6.18-128.2.1.4.25.el5.i686 or with kernel-xen-devel-2.6.18-128.2.1.el5.i686 but then, of course, I get an "Invalid module format" error when I try to install the module (/sbin/insmod rt2860sta.ko).
The issue is probably very simple to solve, but I'm not much of a C programmer so it's not clear to me why the compiler is choking on the snippet above.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Matt

This issue has been resolved. The problem was, we were (attempting to) use EMC PowerPath (/dev/emcpower* devices) but the default SCSI devices (/dev/sd*) were being discovered and used as path to storage.
The solution was to edit /etc/sysconfig/oracleasm and add "emcpower" to the ORACLEASM_SCANORDER parameter and "sd" to the ORACLEASM_SCANEXCLUDE parameter. Once we did that, failovers are working successfully.

  • Cannot install WLAN Driver on my U410 - Aborts on "Search the target device in this machine".

    Hi,
so I have uninstalled Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 64bit Pro on my new Lenovo Ideapad u410. I managed to get all the drivers working... EXCEPT ONE: The WLAN.
Now here's what I did and what happens everytime I try to install the WLAN driver:
I have downloaded the driver "WiFi Link Driver (Intel, CyberTan, Liteon) for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)" from the page http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT073650 multiple times and tried installing it multiple times. The installation process works until the status "Search the target device in this machine" shows up. As soon as this status shows up, the installation exits without an error message or anything else.
Please help me to get it working. I can't even use this machine without WLAN.
    By the way:
    - LAN works fine
    - It's not a hardware issue as the WiFi worked fine on the preinstalled Win8
    - The WiFi won't even show up under Windows
    - I have not installed the "Intel WiMax Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)" driver as I am told that this is not used.
    - Of course I am running the .exe as Administrator
    - It may have to do something with my partitions as I tried installing Win7 on UEFI before, I can post these if you need to see them.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi moeper,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The driver may not be finding the Wifi Device, that's why the driver installation is failing.
      Try This,
Turn Off the System, Turn it back on and start hitting F2
Check under Configuration TAB and and look for WLAN option,
If Disabled - Enable it then Hit F10 to save the settings
If Enabled - Disable it Hit F10 to save, Then go back to hitting F2 and enable it back,
    Then Reinstall the Driver
WiFi Link Driver (Intel, CyberTan, Liteon)
    If still Nogo
Try Opening Device Manager and look for your wireless device It should be located under Network Adapters
or it should show as Network Controller or unknown device with an exclamation mark.
If you were able to find it get the hardware id of that and post it back here

  • Error 0x800f024b installing x86 driver on Windows Server 2008

When attempting to install updated versions of my Lexmark Universal v2 PS3 x86 drivers on 2 of my Windows 2008 clustered print servers, I am receiving the following error screen:  "Unable to install Lexmark Universal Universal v2 PS3,
Type 3 - User Mode, x86 driver.  Operation could not be completed (error 0x800f024b)".  I have 55 other Windows Server 2008 file and print servers that I have not had any issues doing this upgrade to.  It only happens on my 2 clustered
    print servers.

I believe the issue is not installing the driver in the spooler context but adding the driver to the driverstore.  On a cluster the driver is added remotely (yes even on the active node) and the addition to the driverstore also travels the remote install
path.   There was some issue we fixed for Lexmark due to some long string or something in this context but I can't find the information.
Are you running Server 2008 or 2008R2?

  • Trouble installing WLAN Driver on Satellite C850-1CW

I've had to reinstall the Windows that the laptop came with (I'm now on Windows 7) and so I need to find all the drivers myself. This one is proving to be a huge problem.
According to System Information the WLAN Card's PCI ID is
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV _8723&SUBSYS_072310EC&REV_00\4&13FD83EA&0&00E1
Which leads me to believe the WLAN Card is Realtek 8191SE. I went to Realtek website and even check other websites and tried downloading and installing every driver that seems to fit that card but none have worked and the Network Controller remains unrecognized.
    Any ideas?
(Bluetooth and Ethernet drivers installed with no problems, by the way)
    Thanks

  • Satellite C660 - Re-installed WLAN driver not working

    Hi
I cleared a lot of unused programs from a Toshiba Satellite C660-1JH, and accidently removed the Realtek WLAN Driver.
The laptop obviously now has no internal wireless connection. When I realised I managed to find the driver online, successfully downloaded and installed it. I restarted the computer in order for the changes to take affect but nothing happened.
I removed the driver and all associated files and then took it from another site to check that there wasn't anything wrong with the contents of the file. I got exactly the same result twice more. I've been checking the uninstall program list each time to make sure the driver does exist.
My question is does anyone know if there's something else I need to do after installing the WLAN driver to enable it to operate, or if there's another decent internal wireless adaptor I can download from the web that works with this model.
Apologies for my vague I.T knowledge, hope somebody can help!
    Thanks

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there.
Fact is that your notebook has Realtek RTL8188CE WLAN card inside.
Dont search the driver Googling around. Right driver you can download from Toshiba WLAN portal http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
Install it, check status in device manager, try to enable WLAN card using FN key combination and send some feedback.
Driver offered on WLAN portal is the same that you got with original preinstalled recovery image (WIN7 64BIT HOME PREMIUM).

  • Sateillite A300-10M: How to install WLAN driver

I have downloaded the Atheros WLAN driver but not sure what files to open to load the driver onto the laptop.
    Any help, please?
    Thanks

    Hi
I assume youve got some ini and dll files inside the Wlan driver folder
In your case I would go to the device manager. There you should mark the Wlan card (unknown device or Ethernet adapter in network controllers) and should use the option install driver. Then use the advanced procedure and point to the Wlan driver folder which you have downloaded on the page.

  • [Wireless] MBP 9,1, error when installing b43 driver

I followed the guide for the 9,2 Macbook Pros, and tried to install the driver for b43. However, I get the following error when I run 'make':

I didn't find anything in the wiki about this, so I'm turning to the forum.

That page gives some horrible advice.  Not only are you trying to build a module that is already included in the kernel, but this page tells you to do it in a way that will result in untracked files in /usr.   Essentailly you are trying to build a module from 9 months ago for the current kernel.  Even if this were what you needed to do, you should be using the Arch packaging tools to install it with pacman (its actually super easy).
If you still want to use b43, just install the b43-firmware from the AUR.  This will pull the firmware out of the broadcom sta driver with the b43-fwcutter package and use it for the b43 modules.

I have exactly the same problem after running an fsck to clear corrupt files.
Is there a problem with mirrored disks and using boot -ar to rebuild path_to_inst?
The basic problem is that the root filesystem is coming up as read only

  • Tecra 8200: I can't install Wlan driver for Windows XP

    Hello ,
i can't find wireless driver for windows xp. I have Tecra 8200. I try to install a lot of drivers of the official page of Toshiba for Tecra 8200 but the drivers do not work.
If anyone know how i can install wireless in my tecra 8200, please let me know.

    Hi
Firstly what I want say is the Tecra 8200 was not delivered with Windows XP and you will not find any Wlan drivers for WinXP on the Toshiba website.
I have checked it and there are only drivers for W2k, NT, and W98SE.
But as far as I know the unit was delivered with the ORiNOCO specification Wlan miniPCI Card Wireless LAN standard: 802.11b
In this case I would recommend searching in the net for such drivers.
Unfortunately, this is all what I can suggest.

  • Can not instal Win7 WLAN Driver for Satellite C660-168

I can't install WLAN driver on my Satellite C660-168 after Windows 7 installing.
    What's the problem?

    Hi Admiral,
And why you cant install it? Do you get an error message or what happens exactly?
As PauPau wrote you have Broadcom WLAN card so you have to download Broadcom WLAN driver that can be downloaded on Toshiba WLAN portal.
Before installing the driver make sure you are logged in as Administrator or with Administrator rights. ;)

  • WLAN Driver not working (Tecra-R950-116 PT534E-00E00CGR)

I'am stuck with installing the WLAN Driver for the above mentioned Notebook on our preconfigured Windows 7 64bit image.
It seems to be a combined WLAN and Bluetooth Card (Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless). Unfortunately the problem is complicated by the fact that the Modell is NOT in the Support database of Toshiba. maybe because it was custom tailored for our organization.
So neither "autodetect my Model" or entering Serial number on Toshiba Support works, just yields "Model not recognized". Not very professional.
After putting the Image on the Notebook there are 4 unrecognized devices in device Manager.
One is labeled Network Controller, 3 more are unknown.
I downloaded the official Driver for Atheros from Toshiba homepage.
It installs without error message but device is still shown as non-functional in device Manager.
In Toshiba Support Forums I picked up the tip to install BT Filter Driver package first but didn't help.
I tried 3rd Party Drivers. There was an constant error of either "Access Violation" or "file not found".
I didn't save the Image the Notebook was shipped with.
Ordering recovery media would lead to big administrative Overhead because it requires credit Card or payment in advance.
Anything more I can do ?

    Hi
The notebook supports the Atheros b/g/n WB225 WLan card including the BT functionality.
The Atheros driver from the Toshiba EU driver page should be compatible:
    [Wireless Lan Driver v 9.2.0.489|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=5&selSeries=241&selProduct=7562&selSh ortMod=3563&language=13&selOS=30&selType=all&yearu pload=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=a llMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=al l&selectedLanguage=13&type=all&page=5&ID=82924&OSI D=30&driverLanguage=42]
You have to pay attention to the BT function you have to install WLan driver, then Atheros BT filter package and then the Toshiba BT stack in order to get the BT and Wlan working.

  • Satellite L650 PSK1JA - WLAN not turning on / Unable to install WLAN

Can anyone help with my problem here? I've been trying for three days straight and still unable to find a solution.
My laptop, Satelite L650 PSK1JA-07E017 hasn't been able to connect to wireless recently.
I just reformatted my laptop again today (due to other problems) and now I found out
    1. Initially, my toshiba (Out-of-Box-state) laptop has no WLAN driver installed, as the moment I checked Network Sharing Center, I only can see LAN (Atheros Ethernet AR81). (How did I connect into wireless all this time?!)
    2. So knowing this, I tried to download several drivers (Atheros/Broadcom) WLAN, however.
    - The Atheros WLAN driver seem doesn't want to install. The moment I run the setup, nothing happened.
    - The Broadcom WLAN (802.11n) actually worked once, however the moment I restarted my laptop, Broadcom disappeared from the *Network Adapter list*
Both driver were taken from main website "Download" Support
I have been trying to find a solution, sometimes the broadcom WLAN works, sometimes it doesn't, at least until today.
Even if it works, it would connect to the Network only for about 5 minutes or so, and after that, the connection would go "Unable to connect"
    Now today
    1. The wireless network light wont even turn on (That orange light). The moment it would blink is the moment I turned on my computer, but after the TOSHIBA Screen (The screen where you choose to go to your BIOS setting/BOOT), the light suddenly turned off.
    2. And when this light is turned off, I'm unable to enable it, as there's no WLAN driver on my computer (Heck, how does the light turn on?!). So FN + F8 Button is totally disabled.
    3. No matter how many times I install WLAN driver, it's either
    - Setup didn't do anything, no response, nothing happened (Atheros WLAN driver, all of them)
    - Setup worked but wont be listed as Network Adapter.
    4. I saw a forum answer talking about TBSWireless that's located in Toshiba folder, I tried and there's no response at all, nothing happened, nothing popp'ed up.
I used to think that it's caused by overheating, but apparently I don't think it's the cause anymore (as my laptop is totally cold right now)
This problem first time happened a year ago, but never pop up again until this year. Normally it's just reseting Network Adapter and it's all fixed. However, given now I don't have WLAN driver (Hence my connection is a box with red cross) there's nothing I can do. I can't install it, nor I can't do a single thing about it.
If there's something that I need to install first (before installing those WLAN driver) can anyone outline that for me?
and apparently my warranty has expired sometime last year so I can't really ask Toshiba to repair it (Unless I pay)

Installing Ubuntu is WAY easier than windows, same for installing packages (additional software ; although I doubt you'll need to do that).
    Two choices:
    1) Use WUBI (Windows Ubuntu Installer) which is just like installing another windows application on your harddrive. I have this, works great and still good for diagnosing h/w issues. It makes a dual boot menu so that you can choose windows 7 or Ubuntu from boot up.
Start download, run installer... follow prompts, easy. No mess no fuss.
Just go for recommended settings. My initial installation was 18GB but you can go for smaller if you want.

Side note: The application installer is an icon half way down on the left hand side in case you need to install anything additonal. I don't think you will, unless you want to play with Ubuntu.
    2) Install onto USB or CD and boot onto that.
    Follow instructions on this page:
    http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download
Go for version 11.10 (latest version), 32-bit (recommended).
Either 1) or 2) will do the job. 1) is probably marginally less work.. you can't really call installing Ubuntu work. If installing windows was like installing Ubuntu no-one would have any problems.
OK. Once you re-start and boot into Ubuntu the network icon is on the top-right. Looks a bit like a triangle.
There are two great really free PDF books on Ubuntu in case you want to know more:
    http://www.ubuntupocketguide.com/download_main.html
    http://files.ubuntu-manual.org/manuals/getting-started-with-ubuntu/10.10/en_US/screen/Getting%20Started%20with%20Ubuntu%2010.10.pdf
You shouldn't need to read them though, just follow the on-screen instructions the installer gives you and then treat Ubuntu (once you boot into it) it as if it's like windows.

  • P4m900m3-l failed to install audio driver

i got this error when installing the driver
when i checked the Device manager
when i tried to uninstall the driver
    what should i do?
I'm using winxp (it's my friend's pc actually)

    From device manager:
Click on "system devices", search and select "Microsoft UAA driver", right click over it and "Disable it".
Reboot PC, and boot in "Safe Mode", go again to device manager and locate "Microsoft UAA driver", right click over it and "Un-install".
Select "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" and un-install it too.
Reboot machine in normal mode and run Realtek driver installation again
