Error in iTunes Store Power Search

Hi and thanks in advance for your assistance. I need to research songs and artists and have been trying to do this via the iTunes store Power Search.
Problem is that when I type in an artist name and hit "search", I immediately get this error message:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
I press OK and then do the search again immediately. On the 2nd search, I get results. This is very consistent.
It doesn't happen on another co-workers computer, but it happens on a different co-workers computer.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I'm experiencing an error involving power search as well, however my error is not numbered. I attempt to search for a song, artist, album, and composer anything and iTunes will appear as if its searching then a window will pop up informing me:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.
Everything is in order on my computer itself, my connection is in perfect order and is active and alive. I have been receiving the message above for at least a week.

Problem with my iTunes store, cannot search, stays in one application that I already purchased. Please help!

Go to Settings, Store, Apple ID, Sign out and then sign back in again and have another go.
Also, try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

  • Cannot connect to iTunes Store when searching

I am having issues connecting with iTunes Store when searching for apps. All other aspects seem to work just not the search function. Only happening on my iPad. My iPhone and Mac work fine. iPad is updated to most resent os.

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Network connectioncould not be made/error in Itunes Store

I am using Windows Vista (Home Premium Service Pask 1), IE7, Itunes 8, Norton IS 2009 (version 16.02.07, Belkin wirelsess modem. I can connect to the Itunes Store and search for music but when I try to buy a track the error message says that the request could not be completed as the network connection could not be made. It also says tha there was an 'error in the Itunes Store'. I can access and change my account information, I have tried two different payment methods. Switching off all Norton features does not have any effect. I re-installed Norton and Itunes yesterday, in that order so that Norton might be tailored during Itunes install. That seemed to work because program control entries were added. I have run diagnostics in Itunes and all connections were sucessfull (only anomaly is that diags said the user is not an administrator which it was). I have searched microsoft, symantec and itunes web-sites and I am losing the will to live! Can anyone help, please?

Fixed it myself shortly after posting the question by enabling protected mode in IE7! I can only put it down to the collective telepathic powers of the Itunes user community. Once I got past acknowledging an apple T&C's change I enabled protected mode and was still allowed to download. I am now a happy buyer.

  • Unknown error in iTunes Store 11222

For the past couple of days when I've tried to sync my iPod, I've been getting a message "cannot connect to iTunes Store. Check your network connection and try again." Network connection checked. Even ran iTunes diagnostics to confirm that my iTunes was on the net. Passed with flying colors--even said that my iTunes was connected to the Store! But when I tried to connect, got the same message the first time, then on the second click received "unknown error in iTunes store 11222." I need some help here, or the iTune Store techs need to fix a problem. . .

I got my daughter a brand new Ipod today and was forced to download ITunes V8, and ran into this error. I have spent the better part of christmas trying to get this to work without luck. I have renamed the host file, cleared dns, updated my firewall to assure that itunes is clear to communicate, assured that I don't have proxy server set, etc. I had Version 7 and never had any problems. This thing doesn't do me much good if I cannot purchase music, and it seems this problem has been going on for a while since I see posting from October. I can access any website that I want outside the Itunes application, so it isn't my web connection....any thoughts.

  • ITunes Store = inaccurate search results?

A couple of our listeners have found that our podcast - which has been featured in and carried by the iTunes store for over two years - is no longer showing up in search results.
As an experiment I just fired up iTunes, went to the iTunes store and searched for 'This Reality Podcast'.
I was very surprised to see a bunch of podcasts returned in the search, *none of which* had a matched result or met the search criteria. And our own show isn't featured.
Can someone tell me what on earth is going on here?
    Thanks.

Clearly, if you then click on "show all" next to podcasts, yours shows up on the results, so it's not necessarily excluded, it's just that you're not in the top hits. Search engine optimization is always tricky as the criteria are not always published (for fear of people gaming it).
It could be that those others are simply clicked on more frequently when people use similar search terms (popularity is a common criterion). Could be that you're moved down the result set because of the explicit rating. I just don't know.
But I agree that there's something weird about the searching, that there should be some priority given for words in titles, or for the proximity of the words to each other (esp consecutively). Or it would be good if they supported the quoting of a search phrase, to get exact hits.
Hopefully someone else can give you better insights into the iTunes Store search engine's logic.
As an aside, I found it amusing, though, that when I searched for "reality" alone, you were higher up in the result set of podcasts than when I searched for "this reality podcast". It's very strange that a further qualification of a search got me further from my intended destination. Definitely indicative of some loose logic in the search tool.

  • "error in itunes store" message when trying to download

I just downloaded itunes for the first time and want to download some music but keep getting the message "unknown error occurred and error in itunes store" ...any help for me out there ?

Does this error happen on other computers with iTunes?
Does this error happen if you created a new user account and opened up iTunes and accessed the store?
What kind of Internet connection do you have?
Have you ever had iTunes on your computer before?
And are you using any Antivirus or Security Software?

imatch has not completed loading step 1. Error (0x800B0109) There was an error in itunes store.

I had this error with iTunes on Windows XP.  I solved it by going to Microsoft Update, selecting "Custom" to do a custom scan (not Express), then installed "Update for Root Certificates for Windows XP [April 2012] (KB931125)".
