Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData for WebI report on SAP BW

Hello All,
I am getting below error when running a WebI report (BOBJ XI SP3) on top of a universe built on a SAP BW BEx Query (SAP BW 7.01 Level 0007).
"A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. Please enter a valid value for characteristic ZPRODCODE.. (WIS 10901)"
I observed that
1. Error is coming only with more number of restrictions in selection criteria.Without those selections ( as they are optional prompts ) data is coming properly with all 950 records. So as mentioned in old threads huge data is not an issue here
2. Error is coming only when data is not available in cube for the given selection criteria after taking long time.
Any idea why error is coming instead of report throwing No Data to retreive.

Error When Trying to Schedule Webi report using SAP authentication

Hii,
We are trying to Schedule Webi report in CMC for Group of Users using SAP authentication(SSO) ,While Trying this we are geting error Unable to Connect to SAP BW server Incomplete Logon Data ..(IES 10901) .
Authorization done at BI side and Its working properly.Users are able to login into BI Launchpad and View Report as per authorization
Some Webi reports are created using BICS connection and some are created using Universe Design Tool (.UNV) which are migrated from BO 3.1 to BO 4.0
Server Status:
BO server and Client Tools-:BO 4.0 SP6
BW System-7.01

Hi All,
We have a mandotory prompt on 0FISCPER for Web I Report . The promt is present in the universe.
The query works fine in Dev , but in Quality it shows the following error
A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. Please enter a valid value for characteristic 0FISCPER.. (WIS 10901)
The universe is on BW Query and the BW Query works fine.
Can someone please help on this

We have created report level prompts and facing this issue because we were selecting multiple values for prompts.
Its working fine for single selection. Is there any way to enable multi selection for the particular object at the BW end ?
Or else we have to create the prompts (Single selection) at the universe level.

HI,
I am getting the error The action cannot be performed error for Webi Report. I am getting this error after i save the report and open it again.

This is happening for only 1 particular report. In the end i removed some of the objects from the query and added some new ones.
Strangely it worked!

We are working with Business Objects EDGE series XI 3.0 and SAP BW 3.5. We work over Financial Infocubes. Our problem appears when we try to refresh a Profit & (Loss) (CO-PA Query) with more than two periods of time. If we work with one or two periods everything works perfect.
The error:
Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. Unknow error (WIS 10901)

Hi Marti,
could you provide the details on the elements that you included into the query panel for the Web Intelligence report and which items are being used in the report ?
Can you execute a BI query that looks the same meaning that all elements from the web Intelligence query panel need to be in the rows or columns.

Hi Expert - I got this error message while running any webi report.
"A database error occurred. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details. (WIS 10901)"
How can i see - RFC trace file
or from where in sap system i will get more details - SAP system log for more details
Any clue to solve this issue ?
- the number of record are not much , just 10 - 20 recotrds , still i am getting this error.

Hi Ingo i have tried to implement the note - 1260004 as you suggested , but in my registry files i am not able to see -

Why the bo server does have these paths.
Also We are another Bo server of 3.1 sp-2 , When i see the registry there is no entry like - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects
How come this possible.

Are you seeing this error for every report? or just for this report? Looks like it is DB error. Contact your DBAs

Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData when Scheduling

Dear Experts,
We have a Web Intelligence report that refreshes in the Rich Client without a problem. If we try to schedule this report, we receive the following error message.
A database error occurred. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND. (WIS 10901)
I've read the related SAP Note that says this is due to large data volumes, but it refreshes in the Rich Client fine. We've also restricted the WebI queries as much as we can and the underlying BEx query is also heavily restricted.
We're running BOE 3.1 SP2.
Any help to solve this problem will be massively appreciated,

Hi Andrew,
Think is not million of records if cells if you have 10 dimensions and 100.000 records you will have this problem, because is million of cells.
How many dimension do you have in the query panel?
Other issue that I had with similar error number was related to LOV, and I solved this procedure:
1. check your Web Intelligence Processing Servers are enabled and running?
2. Does the user have the appropriate rights to the universe and connection underlying the report?
3. Do an integrity check on the Universe and resolve all cardinality issues from the migration.
Once all the integrity issues were resolved and the LOV's recreated u2013try to re-export the Universe, which will resolve the WIS errors.
4. check you have the Universes existing in the correct universe folders.
5. And also check the disk space.

Please find the below errors :
1)report schedule status failed

3 ) Format : WebI
Parameters : 10000000000159270
Error Message :CORBA error while communicating with the SL service

Hi,
While refreshing the WEBI Reports would recommend you check the WEBI PROCESSING Server's last changed date from CMC--> Servers.
Check when you are refreshing the reports, do you see the time stamp changed of WEBI PROCESSING servers?
Do you keep getting this error messages for all WEBI reports? Can you re-produce this with simple e-fashion reports as well?
After that go to the node where WEBI PROCESSING servers installed and check on the event viewer details if you see any relevant error messages.

How to make Management of row level restrictions easy for webi reports?

Hi all
Our BO Product version is 12.3.0.601 (BO 3.1)
We are applying row level security for webi reports at universe level...
Since Universes are more in Number we have to create same restrictions and apply it to the users lets take a restrictions on region....which is common across all universes.
So the problem lies with the management of restrictions created at universe level.
Can we have a setup in where we can centralized the restirctions at a place so that management would be easy ......???
Shall we have to import the roles(restrictions) from R/3 or BW or Database level...?
Then how we will restrict our report (webi) to a region?????
So basically webi reports should run with the restrictions lets say region....How we will achieve this?/

Hi,
what is your Datasource?
If its SAP BW i would highly recommend you use the SAP Authentication in your BOE XI 3.1 So the users log into BOE with their SAP Username and Password and than the Data restriction of your BW takes place when the users run their Reports.
Informations on how to confiure the SAP Authentication you will find in the installation Guide of the SAP ITK.

Which folder i have to put my .jsp file for web report?

for web report(not the paper report) i put my .jsp files in the
\reports\j2ee\reports_ids\web
folder
this is for the DS(Developer Suite)
i'm trying to move this file to different machine where AS(Application Server)
is installed.
but couldn't find above path. where do i have to put .jsp file for
web report?
or do i have to modify in the registry? if so, where?

Passing values to subreport in SSRS throwing an error - Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details.

I have the subreport calling from the main report. The subreport is based on MDX query agianst the SSAS cube. some dimensions in cube has values 0 and 1.
when I try to pass '0' to the sub report as the parameter value, it gives an error "Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details".
Actually I am using table for storing these parameter values. In the main report I am calling this table (dataset) and passing these values to subreport.
so I have given like [0],[1] and this works fine. when I give only either [0] or [1] then it is throwing an error.
Could you please advise on this.

Based on the current description, I understand that there is no issue if you pass two values from main report to subreport, while the issue occurs when passing one value to subreport.
To narrow down the issue, I want to confirm whether the subreport can run if there is only [0] or [1] in the subreport. If so, it indicates the query statements exist error in the subreport. If it’s not the case, this shows the issue occurs during passing
values from main report to subreport. To make further analysis, please post the details of query statements of the subreport to the forum.

Execution time for web reports

Hello every one,
How to calculate execution time for web reports, for query execution we will go through RSRT, by giving query name and press execute + Debug button then select statistical data & Do not Cache buttons then press enter, after getting output press on back button, we will get duration of the query.....
But my question is , can we calculate execution time for webreport, if so can you please guide me.
and can you also tell me , if there is any RRI for one report, how to calculate execution time for these queries.
Ex : Query ABC have XYZ as its drilldown report , i need to calculate execution time for XYZ report via ABC report.

For reports executed in java web you can add the parameter &PROFILING=X
to the URL in order to record the execution time. Please have a look at SAP note 1048691 for further information.
