Error in notification

hi there,
In trying to design company specific notification,in 1/0tab01-notification 1 ,not able to see the reference object i.e functional location,equipment etc in notification though in screen area have assigned reference object -005

thanks for the reply i tried the procedure you sent but it is not showing the control default value it is not getiing highlighted and is not selectable.
What i meant was in designing the notification , the reference object is not seen.even though i select it in screen area 1 .
i have checked the field selection it is alright.
Any further solutions?

Error handling notification type=Platform...

The message below occurs in our logs in batches of 7 or 8 occurrences over a few ms and separated by a gap of 4-20s. It's been happening for days. The erroring storage node is not the senior node. There is no noticeable service impact. This is a dev cluster consisting of has 8 storage, 4 proxy , 1 MBean server and 4 other process nodes. There is very little load on it. The platform is SunOs 5.10 on x86.
What does it mean?

Hi,
The log message implies that parallel eden/surivor space collector is running on member with id =2. I don't think it implies any immediate issues but I would recommend to check you heap space graph for the node and also spit gc logs using -Xloggc:<file_location> -verbose:gc and see if the GC is tuned correctly.

Error "the notification doesn't exists" when use BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN

Hi gurus, I have a problem with a BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN.
My order has 3 notifications on the tab "Objects" and I want to remove one. But when i called the BAPI, i get the error message "Notification 100047495 does not exist".
The content of the tables is:

Automated error email notification when outbound IDOC fails

Hi,
The requirement is that whenever the outbound IDOC of message type PAYEXT, basic type PEXR2002, fails, then email has to be trigerred to a group id.
I had suggested to write a report program that runs as a job. If the IDOC goes to error status then mail will be sent from this report. Client prefers it to be done through workflow.
There is a standard process code for outbound IDOC failure handling EDIO (we40). standard task 7989 has been assigned to this process code. I dont want to modify this standard task as I am not sure of impact.
Terminating event for this task is 'ERRORPROCESSCOMPLETD'.
I have developed the workflow that has trigerring event 'ERRORPROCESSCOMPLETD' and bound with the IDOC number. This will send mail to the group id with the IDOC details
Now issue is that, I am not sure if standard process EDIO will be trigerred automatically, or should we configure anywhere. Since this is standard outbound IDOC, I am not able to add the process code in partner profile.
Please give your inputs or any other alternate solution to send mail through workflow when outbound IDOC fails.

I guess in your outbound partner profile for PAYEXT. you need to add process code EDIO in message control TAb. WHich will cause to trigger the workflow which will send the notification.

Function returning error - change notification

I have a function returning error text. When error occurs I get the message
'xx error has occurred' on the screen (in notification). Is there a way to control the message text so I can display different text?

PO approved error in notification

Hi Guys,
I'm working with SRM 7.0.
We are getting an error when the agent approves the PO. A notification should go to the initiators inbox, but an error is appearing in SWI1:
Work item 000000005312: Object /SAPSRM/CL_WF_EVENT_ADAPTER method TRIGGER_EVENT cannot be execute
Message no. WL821
Diagnosis
The calling of the object method for the work item ended with a return value for which no handling is modeled in the workflow.
System Response
The work item was forced into the error status.
Procedure
Refer to your workflow system administrator.
Procedure for System Administration
Also check the binding between the task container and the method container.

Regarding Workflow Error and Notification problem

I am working on Workflow. I imported data first time in Data Manager and created new workflow. Now while "Launching" this workflow it is showing error "The record is currently used in workflow".
I was using this repository for other data with different workflow but i deleted all previous data and workflow. Why it is showing this error? When i have new set of data with new workflow than i think i should not show this error.
Other Question is regarding Notification:
To notify the person we have to make following changes :
1) Have to use Notify stencil and have to give e mail ids in User detail
2) In my server ini file i have to give my mail server name.
After making this changes I am not getting any mails. Please guide me for the same.
Please guide me how to rectify this error and what are the prerequisites?

Hi Ronak,
Couple of issues with emailing:
1. You need to restart your repository after updating .ini file to effect the changes.
2. Your SMTP server should relay mails without SMTP authentication.
3. You can also send emails to outside domains such as yahoo or others if your SMTP server permits.
Check with your mail server administrator and perform a simple SMTP telnet test to make sure your SMTP server is not an issue.

WF error sending notification to org unit

Hi All,
I'm facing an amazing issue :
I use my WF to send notification. The recipient can be a single user or an org unit(object O, in this case all people belonging to this org unit receive the notification in theur SBWP). It was running very fine before but newly my WF goes on error if the recipient is an org unit. I checked my structure, there is no issue, people are well assigned and have their users defined in the system.
Could you please tell me what's the root cause of this issue? Is there a configuration of WF or rules I should verify?

here is the last news, My WF runs correctly for another org unit. I went to the detailed log(transaction SWi2_freq) and found that for the container of my task(sending notification to the org unit ) some values of the structure "_Workitem" are diffrents :
Field "callbackFM" which value is SWP_CALLBACK_WI_DONE for both WFs
Field "return value" :
the WF which ran correctly : 0000
the WF which went on error : 1001
So I guess that this FM causes the error, but I can't find this FM with transaction SE37
How to reach it?
Have you faced this error before?
A colleague audited the OM structure, he confirmed that it's well set up, and the error is not due to wrong assignements or invalid dates.

I Have a customization where need to validate the notification respond attribute values using post notification. In this particular case there are used two respond attributes, one with type as Lookup and other as text. The second respond attribute is validated based on the value in first respond attribute.The validation is failing in post notification function with the following error message when use a respond attribute with type as Lookup and the page is not getting displayed completely. However upon Refresh the page is displayed properly. (Note: If we use attribute other than Lookup, its working fine). Error message:

Error in notification creation

Hi
My requirement is, create the Notification (IW21) by using the call transaction in synchronous mode after creates the notification I have to do some other updating. I complete the code and also it is working fine but some times it is not working, if I execute often, sometimes I am getting this error (No status object is not available for QNF#1)

Error in notification- Wrong Code group displaying

While creating Notification, we can assign codes for defect loc, def type and causes. After that, If I go in change mode of same notification, code group for defect type and causes are default taking as code group assigned for defect location.
Also the code group for defect type and causes are not even displaying in screen.
But the data for defect location is showing everything fine, means code group, codes.
Summary:
In QM02- Change Notification
Defect Location:
Code group- Correctly displaying whatever assigned during creation of notification
Defect Loc code: Correctly displaying
Def Loc description- Correctly displaying
Def Type:
Code group- Displaying same code group of def location
Defect type code: No display
Defect type description- No display
Causes:
Code group- Displaying same code group of def location
Causes code- No display
Causes description- No display
Did anyone faced the same issue before. If so plz ley me know

Error in notification mail in po release

Hi all,
 i encounter a problem in notification mail activity. actually my wflow gets trigerred wen a po is created. It has four levels of approval, in the activity i have given the notification agent as the po creator the wen the first approver releases the po and saves the workitem status is set to be inprocess itself it doesnt get the status as completed.but the po reaches the second approvers inbox and he also effects the release but there also the workitem status is set to inprocess .
 like wise it happens with the remaining users but the document is released but the notification is not sent to the po creator.
 When i view the technical details of that workitem there is an error stating
Terminating event recieved : notification of completion cannot be generated
problems occures during generation of mail
if_swf_utl_mail~send error 9 when calling service so_object_send
please do help me with this error.

Please check whether there is any terminating event that is triggered inside the Workflow. U can check through wflow Log. You can also check whether the User Id to whom you are sending the mail if it is SAP User Id and you are using Container element in agent determination to be always Concatenated with US for SAP User Id.

The "Lookup" type column value format is ID;#value, when we get the field value output from SharePoint workflow, it may display this format if we use look up this "Lookup" type column value as Text instead of String in workflow.

IMAP giving error in notification mailer setup.

Name : Workflow Notification Mailer
Outbound EMail Account (SMTP)
* Server Name = exsrv.domainname
Inbound EMail Account (IMAP)
Inbound Processing = checked
Server Name = exsrv.domainname
Username = testmailer
Password = ********
Reply-To Address = testmailer@domainname
IN THE ABOVE SETTINGS SMTP IS SUCCESSFUL BUT IMAP IS GIVING ERROR 'UNABLE TO MAKE NETWORK CONNECTION'.
I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS PLEASE,
WHY THIS ERROR APPEARING?
WHAT IS THE USE OF IMAP? CAN THE NOTIFICATION MAILER BE CONFIGURED ONLY BY SMTP SETTINGS?
PLEASE ADVICE.

When ever a leave request is created and submitted ,an e-mail notification is sent to the
preparer and approver, When the mail notification is actioned by the approver like Approving the leave request >or rejecting That means a outbound process is what as name suggest whenever any notification is send to the user from the application and inbound is the reply/action which is received back in the application.
What will happen if I don't set the IMAP for inbound processing?You simply won't get the replies/action summary from the users.

When there is any error or warnings in any of the map execution, i want to know in which map there is error or warnings. how can i achieve this...

Top apps error and notification error

when i reset my mobile the symbol of top apps has been lost and only the name ramaining.when click on it a white screen appears.....what will i do........ this happens when i reset *#7370# bcoz when i open notification>in application it appears in black colour.after reseting phone i cannot overwrite or delete top apps...plssssss any one can urgently help me...

When you raise the error, then the call to send the notification would be rolled back.
I would create a new procedure to send the notification, passing in all the values that you might need, and call that as an autonomous transaction. That way, when the error handler rolls the transaction back, your notification would still be sent.
Alternatively, invoke a custom error process and send the notification from there as part of the error handling process, which would be the way that I would build it - encapsulate all the error handling logic in one place, rather than separating it.
