Error in Number range objec

Hi all
I created a Number ranger object and using this number range object in my program to get number automatically.
The number starts from 1 as given in the number ranger interval but after 1 it skips 9 numbers and goes to 11,12, 13 so on.
why does this happen . how to resolve this issue.
In number range object I checked main memory buffering and given 10 for Numbers in buffer field.
Kindly help me resolve this issue.

I removed the No of values in buffer and kept that field empty , but now it is jumping around 400 numbers . why does this happen.
Also let me know how to transport number range objects from DEV to QAS and then to PRD.
Does the number range interval also get carried as it is to QAS system on transporting the request? if yes then the current number will be the last number generated in DEV system . How to tackle this issue.

Hi Murthi,
Please check through T Code FBN1 whether you have maintained correct number range for Document type (Check document type in OBA7 and see what number range is maintained) you are posting in that particular company code and fiscal year.
If not maintained please maintain the same. It will solve your problem.
Also you can click on question mark tab in yellow and see the details of error. You can also get the information of error and solution.

We have a stuck BDOC for a BP with "ZEmployee" (custom) role in CRM with error as "Fill in Required fields". We knew this is b'cos one of the mandatory field in not maintained in CRM. After maintaining the mandatory field in CRM; we are re-processing the stuck BDOC and again it is getting into the error message with error "A number range is not assigned to account group Sold-to party".
We have checked the number range and grouping configuration both in ECC and CRM. But still not able to identify the gaps. Is there a detailed step-by-step approach which can be taken up to resolve the issue.

I am facing similiar issue. When i am creating BP in CRM WebUI, I am getting an error message: "Error in Transporting Number Range".
Could you please share your findings, how you solved your issue?

Getting Error: The number range is not maintained for Object/Year: J_1ILIC/

When I try to capture deemed export license from J1ILIC01 I get this error
The number range is not maintained for Object/Year: J_1ILIC/
I tried to maintain number ranges in SNRO & SNUM there the changes are saved but I am not able to capture the license and receive the same error again. Please help.

Just check if you have maintained number range for the correct year as shown in error.
Goto SNRO/SNUM enter the object ID and click on number range .Maintain there for that particular year.

Transport Error like Number Range Inteval for 0PRODID is missing

Iam transporting an infoobject to Quality and got an error like Number range interval for 0PRODID is missing.
But the infoobject which iam transporting is not the 0PRODID but is an Attribute.
can you pls let me know what to do.

Check with your Infoobject 0PRODID in Quality has got the Number range available.
If not first generate the Number range or go with the RSRV run the test with Master and do the transport

Error in number range while testing inbound idoc via we19

hi all,
i have done all configurations but while testing the inbound idoc via we19 i am getting an error 'error in assigning number to idoc'..i checked and found that the number range object for idoc is edidoc in it number interval is defined from 1 to 99
i dont think that anything is wrong with the number object..
Can u tell me how dow i eliminate this error?

Increase Higher limit the reason is when you look at current idoc number ( This idoc number already exists ) ,it will not create new idoc number.
System will get the number from SNRO Based on IDOC Object.
Just look at EDIDC and see the current idoc number.
Simple example :
I have one number - 100 ,it is already exists in database,if i insert same record to the database ,did system will accept ?

In FBN1 am trying assign 51 for my company but it says
tat the number overlapps....what shall i do for the following

This happens when
Existing Number Range number for ur Company code
No.                    21
From Number     5100000000
To Number         5299999999
If you are trying to add 51 with the number range as shown below
No.                    51
From Number     5200000000
To Number         5259999999
This happens bcos the from number and to number assigned to 51 falls in the from number and to number of 21.
In such cases you will get the message as what you are getting now.
So try assigning a different from number and to number for 51.

Hi,
for 1) there is a solution for sure. What you are looking for is "early number assignment"
Customizing -> ... -> Change Request Management -> "Define Transaction Types"
Double click your transaction type and uncheck "Early No. Assgt."
For 2), never tried alpha numeric but it should work. You need to define your own number ranges and assign them to your transaction type. Re-assign to numeric ones after testing is done.

Error in Number Range

Hi;
I am facing a problem while trying to create a new number range ZT, with values 1350T to 1488T, through transaction XDN1. An error message which appear is "Enter interval without overlap". It says that the number range is overlapping with existing range no. P8 - 1000000000 to 1999999999. Now, ZT will be an external no. range and P8 is an internal no. range and also, as you can see, the numbers are not ovelapping. So, I cannot see where the overlap is. I would be very greatfu if anyone can give me any insights into it.

I got your problem. It is not because of Number range PB.
See, the problem is that when you define the number range ZT, there might be a number range already existing which is alphanumeric (May be XX A ZZZZZZZZZZ, which is standard).
since the ZT number range contains the alphabet T which is overlapped in XX number range, you can not again define the number range whith T.
Solution could be to delete the XX number range and then define these 2 number ranges i.e. PB and ZT.
At least you try it. I am sure that it will be done.

follow steps below:
1. go to tcode snro
2. input GL_LOCAL in the object field
3. push "number ranges" button
4. push "Groups"(maintain) button
5. select "V0" group, since I use Document type 'V0' during PCA distribution
6. push 'change' button
7. insert the year you want

Error in number range assignment

When I try creating a process order, I get the below error : ERROR OCCURED IN NUMBER ASSIGNMENT FOR OBJECT RESB. There is no problem with the number range, i.e. number ranges are assigned to the order type. Any solution?

Hi,
check table NRIV object RESB (which number range assigned, whats the highest number assigned) and compare it with table RESB. If the highest number in RESB is higher than the status in NRIV you know the reason for the message.

Error in number range when creating new material

Hi All,
We just recently changed the number range format of our material master. Earlier it was numerical and no it contains alphanumeric data.
To do the change, in the material type i selected the option "External Number Assignment w/o check".
Now i deselcted the option and tried to create a material with the old number range, it does not allow me to do so.It gives the error "Number 12345 not defined for Material Type".
What changes need to be done to allow numerical characters to be accepted?

Error in Number range object - URGENT

I changed one attribute(let say X) of a characteristic(A) from dis to nav and transported to QA. The transport failed saying that the intervals for the number range object for X does not exist.
In DEV RSRV check on X, A shows no errors
any suggestions how can I fix this prob

try attribute change run first if dont work try this
you can increase the number range buffering size... go to se37 use functional module rsd_cube_get and then click on the test/execute(f8) button, then put in your cube name , then for i_obj put in a and then for i_bypass put in x press the execute button. the click on the blue icon next to E_T_DIME. you se your dimensions there. you now need to increase the buffer size for the dimensions that are receiving high volumes of records. so on the same screen not the dimention tht you want to increase the size of, scroll to the right hand side extreme and note down the NOBJECT number starts with BID. then go to transaction SNRO, put in the number you noted down and click on the change icon.
Now in the edit tab on top drop down set up buffering and select main memory.
now under "No. of numbers in buffer type in 500
save and click yes to continue
setting the number range too low will not help in load performance significantly, whereas setting it too high will consume a lot of memory on the application server, which will effect other applications.monitor the memory usage during data loading to find an appropriate number.

check the posting date what u r puting , it should be on or before 31/03/2010
i think this is only the issue dont looks like any other issue
or do one thing just o\go in SNRO and for J_1IINTNUM object put 9999 year and the number range
and try to post your transaction in 2009
