We do not know the cause of it as the user have not complained about it so far. While routine checking, we stumbled upon this file and saw the errors. This is happening on our PROD instance. Hence it is a concern. Let me know if anyone has encountered this issue before. And what is the cause for it and the fix?
Thanks in Advance.

Thanks.Hi Tom,
Thanks, but at this point, I've rebooted, checked and double-checked more times than I'd care to count...:(
Since I can see the NMEA strings when the GPS module is hooked-up to the USB port, I guess I'll assume there's some reason why the
AMA0 UART has not been released, or that the GPS receives some different signals through the TTY that it's not seeing through the AMA0.
As I mentioned, when I use 'cat /dev/ttyAMA0', it just hangs, like it's getting no data. I'll keep looking...
Thanks for your help,

Cause
위 문제는 Bug:3132644 에 기록되어 있습니다.
With $FND_TOP/admin/template/afjava.sh 115.3, too much logging information is collected for a JVM, causing large log files. This is addressed in file version $FND_TOP/admin/template/afjava.sh 115.4, provided in patch 3104607 TXK Autoconfig rollup patch F onwards. The extra logging information is only generated if variable s_jserv_std_log is enabled.
Fix
1. Please apply the latest released TXK Autoconfig roll up patch.
2. Verify that variable s_jserv_std_log is disabled. -

Please advice,
AmyIt looks like you are using Oracle Applications, which is different from Application Server. You might benefit from posting in the EBS forum.
For this issue - I could suggest you check your system resources, in particular the ulimit. Check the number of allowed open files with ulimit -a and ensure it is sufficient. If that does not help, please ask in the EBS forum. -
Afternoon
Got a problem which happens every now and then.
when you try to logon to oracle apps via OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp you get given a screen that says LOGIN error Oracle error &ERRNO: &REASON has been detected in &ROUTINE
It happens for all users trying to log in, if your already in then there's no problems. system works fine.
You can log in to OAM without any issues.
As i said, this error comes and goes, lasts between 30 minutes and 2 hours.
Any help in find a fix or where to look to get a better error message would be very welcome.
Thanks
BrianThe MO: Operation Unit variable isn't getting changed.
Found a LOAD of errors in the OACoreGroup.0.stderr file but i'm not sure what one problem or another.
here's three errors from around the time the issue happened. (i've chmod'ed the aferror.log 777 to make sure it's no longer an issue)

Oracle 10g GetMetricData Division by Zero Error

http://www.dbazine.com/blogs/blog-cf/chrisfoot/10goemlessons
on this forum and other places, I have more or less restored functionality to my 10g EM console. The upload process appears to be working normally and the web interface works for just about everything except the "Home" tab. I also cannot reach the ASM page to perform ASM functions.
Here are the most recent entries from the emagent.trc file.

Finally, from the SYSMAN.MGMT_TARGETS table, I see the following statuses for the various target types

Any thoughts or additional suggestions?? I have been working on getting the EM console back up and fully functional for several days. I am more of a 9i type, not 10g.
Yes, it's been 18 months since this last worked; what can I say? I inherited this server from a vendor.

Does anyone haveA couple of updates:
1. I found a perl script file in the sysman\admin\scripts folder called semd_common.pl. I found the line number referenced in the log file. Apparently, the $total variable (representing disk space, I think) is not set properly. When I hard coded it to a fixed value and restarted the dbConsole, I stopped getting the division by zero error.
Not a good solution, but maybe a step sideways. I'd like to remove my edit, but one thing at a time.
2. I found another error message in the OracleDBConsoleSIDwebsrvc.log file:
03/22/06 14:44:23 Received exitCode 1 from emctl istatus
Googling this particular message did not reveal a whole lot to me.
Any more ideas? Anyone?

I get the error above when doing the following

You have the wrong Java version installed. Do you already have another Forms version installed (like Forms 10g)? I ask this because Java 1.4.2_06 installs with the Oracle Developer Suite 10g. For Fusion Middleware 11g (Forms 11g) you need to have Java 1.6 installed. If you already have Java 1.6 installed, then you will need to modify your System PATH so that it lists Java 1.6 before Java 1.4. The error you are getting, "stderr=[java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError" is because Java 1.4 doesn't support the method the installer is using. Run the following command from a Command/Dos window: "Java -version". If it does not show Java 1.6.0_??, then your PATH is still not setup correctly or you don't have Java 1.6.0 installed.

Transportable Tablespace Importing - Failed to read stderr from process
Hello,
I'm using the normal EM console packaged with Oracle (10gR2) and am trying to import a tablespace on RedHat rel4.
I follow the Transport Tablespaces link on the maintenance tab and get the option of export or import and also the place to put the host credentials in. I select import, enter the credentials and click continue and am given this error: Failed to read stderr from process.
I've tried logging into EM as SYSTEM, SYS, and a DBA account I use and have used both root and the oracle account with no luck.
Searching hasn't gotten me any useful results here or in metalink so I'm stuck. What am I missing?
ThanksThank you thank you!
The short version is I traced it back to an error with /bin/nmo which traced back to a failure to run root.sh when upgrading to 10.2.0.3.
Thanks again! -
Hope somebody can help :-)
Have one server with grid control installed 10g. Another server with rdbms 10g and in a seperate dirictory the 10g agent. Both sites are starting up, but in the agent trace file I can see following errors:
a) 2004-02-18 14:58:21 Thread-5931014 WARN upload: FxferSend: received http error in header from repository: http://myHost:4889/em/upload/
ERROR-400|ORA-01882: timezone region not found
I changed the timezone in emd.properties to CET (on both servers), but error still occurs
b) 2004-02-18 15:00:48 Thread-6160390 ERROR fetchlets.oslinetok: Process stderr = ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin)
I asume that he want to login to the local db on the agent server, question with which user (sysman or dbsnmp) ? and where to set the password (if not correct) in the agent config files.
regards, OlafWith try and error I solved the second problen (username password) also :-)
I found the targets.xml file and edited the tags UserName and password which contains encrypted values and set this values to dbsnmp and his password the attributes ENCRYPTED I set to FALSE. restarted the agent and the agent worked fine (he could login to the db) what he also did was to encrypt username and password in the targets.xml and set the attribute back to TRUE, so everything is fine and I can go home :-)

I guess I have a configuration and a design issue. I need to make the stderr log available to the user. So in case of an error they
can cut and paste the error information in the log and send it to us. It is a quick way of getting the error message.
I found this by googling it:
http://naive-amseth.blogspot.com/2010/06/opening-pdf-txt-or-doc-files-in-adf.html
But this says the log has to be in the public html directory. when we deploy t o devtest and production we are not able
to access the directories. They are deployed as ear files.
How do I configure weblogic to write to a separate text file when there is an error.(Is it stderr?) then make it available as
a txt file to the user?Why don't you implement an error handler page where you print the stack trace of the exception to the page?
This way the user sees the actual error and does not have to scan through a log file.
Something like this on a page:
<af:outputText value="#{ShowErrrorBean.stacktrace}"
rendered="true" id="ot1"/>and the code of the ShowErrrorBean to print the stack trace onto the page...
public String getStacktrace()
if (cc.getCurrentViewPort().getExceptionData() != null)
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(sw);
Exception e = cc.getCurrentViewPort().getExceptionData();
e.printStackTrace(pw);
this.executeRollback();
processException(e);
cc.getCurrentViewPort().clearException();
return sw.toString();
return null;

ApplicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning and exit with "error status 101"
My application crashed with memory error. It doesn't show any memory leak, but handles a large database and it looks like, its cache causes this problem.
I fixed it by closing database and reopen it inside "applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning".
It works great on the first call to applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning (actually significantly dropping the memory usage). But the function is never called again, and my application eventually crashes after a few minutes of heavy usage with "error status 101" .
My understanding is that "error status 101" happens when app doesn't release memory properly on didReceiveMemoryWarning, but in my case, it just crashes without giving me a chance to clean up.
Any idea on what's going on here?Yes, actually, the other answer you got was wrong.
Just throw an error inside the script, probably (given what you want to do) at the end. For example:
osascript -e 'error "This is a test." number 9000'
on the command line will give (on the command line) something like:
6:22: execution error: This is a test (-128)
If you read the man page for osascript, you will see that by default script errors are written to stderr; if you have your shell script watch stderr between the start of the script and the end of it, you'll catch the result message.
A few things to keep in mind:
--> AppleScript can catch its own errors using a "try" block, similar to in other languages. The basic syntax is:
try
(* Do some stuff here *)
on error msg number num
(* Process the error here *)
end try
--> If you throw an error yourself, try to use an error number which is "safe". Most of the negative numbers are already in use as standard signals. For example, -128 is "User canceled", while -43 is "file not found" (which pops up if you cast a string to an alias and the string does not describe a path to a valid item in the filesystem -- that's actually a very simple way to test for file existence). If you use numbers starting with 9000, which seems to be the consensus starting point, then you have the additional advantage of being able to figure out where things went wrong. -
