Error in Opening Document - error messgae as "First Define Numbering Series

Dear All
With new financial year starting one of our customer define new posting periods (12 periods for each month) and assigned one period indicator for all the periods. They also defined some user groups and assigned this groups to document numbering series for that user. Now while opening the document (e.g. Sales Order) for that user system displays the following message:
"To generate this document, first define the numbering series in the Administration module"
Therefore user can not open the document. Same procedure was followed in previous period also without any error.
Please suggest procedure to be followed.
Thanks & with regards

  • Cannot open document (Error: INF)

We have migrated reports from version Business Objects 6.5.1 to Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2. We have been receiving sporadic 'Cannot open document (Error: INF)' now and again whenever you open Desktop Intelligence reports using Infoview. Have any other users come across this issue using BOXI 3.1 SP2. I do not believe that this issue occurred on SP1.
    This error is very frustrating.
I have browsed various forums and implemented changes which have had no effect whatsoever including the SAP Marketplace.
We are also receiving SetPrompts Failed errors. When a report is opened in Infoview and you refresh a report, a blank dialog appears with a red cross. if you refresh the report again then the SetPrompts Failed error appears. I have evene made changes according to article 1364437 based on this error and this has not resolved the issue.
    Regards
    Dipendra

We're on BOXI3.1 SP2 aswell and we have had the same sporadic issue - Cannot open document for Deski reports. This is causing some serious concern amongst our users over system stability.
You can recreate the situation by shutting down the InputFileRepository server and you get the same message. I've noticed that when this happens there is a mesage in the fcproc log file 'm_repFileMgr.Download failed'
My theory is that there may be some congestion in linking between the desktopintelligence server and the inputfilerepository. In addition, we had some logging on the fileserver and at the time of the error there was no mention of the report that failed or any error. We contacted SAP about this but did not get a satisfactory response. There were some heavily utilised DESKi reports which we managed to convert to Webi to take the load off and we also dropped the timeout to 20 minutes (not brilliant but it did mean that if we got the message the users wouldn't have to wait too long before it was resolved in case they couldn't get hold of IT).
I also upped the parameter for Maximum Retries for File Access in case it was having problems getting the file.
The result of this was that the error appeared to go away... until yesterday!!!
    Any further insights welcome.

  • Error when opening document with ECL control: INVALID_DATA

    Hi Gurus,
I've tried to search the net for this problem but could not find anything and I'm stuck now.
    Description:
we're using ECL to view attached documents (to POs etc.) which are stored through ArchiveLink on the content repository.
when we try to open this document, time-to-time we get following error:
Error when opening document with ECL control: INVALID_DATA
    Message no. SDV004
by time-to-time I mean that when we try to open same attachment again it opens successfully (sometimes we need to re-open it 3-4 times to get it)
what we've tried is to enlarge timeout for HTTP protocol (tx SMICM, from former 30 to actual 60) but only effect we got is that we're waiting for the error longer time
It will be really great if anybody of you guys can give me an advice where the problem can be or where should I look and what to check
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi Christoph,
thanks for tip, unfortunately this was already flagged, currently settings are:
    for Display Settings:
    yes - include ECL control
    use HTML control
empty - maximum viewer wait time
(do you think that setting some value for this could help)
yes - deactivate generic object services in viewer
no - doc display as dialog box
yes - deactivate data provider cache
    Storage Settings:
yes - always copy document class from document type
    yes - permit multiple assignment

  • SFP : Error in opening document (Layout)

    Hi All,
A SFP form was developed in Language "DE"; when I try to open the
layout of the SFP (logged on using EN); I get the error "Error while opening document" and the form is not opened. But when the same layout is opened with a logon using language DE; it gets opened. Why?
How to make it work in EN?
    Regards,
    Kanthimathi

    Dears,
you can solve this issue following instructions described in OSS note 1074025.
    1. Close SAP gui
    2. Check if process FormDesigner.exe is still running in Task Manager. If so, kill it.
    3. Delete folder "Designer" from location:
    C:\Documents and settings\<user id>\Application Data\Adobe
    NB: Path for Windows Vista
    C:\Users\<user_id>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Designer works perfectly
When you run again the Adobe LiveCycle, the folder is regenerated.
    Hopefuly it helps

  • Cannot open document (Error: INF) / Session is closed (Error: INF )

    SAP BO XI3.1
last time I face this one but suddenly disappear during testing, now we once again face this issue. As all users are member of group 'EveryOne' if we add any user membership to administrator group / master group this error resolved for this user.but that is not proper solutions, so far i m unable to find the rights which is lacking to all user for these report which are available in each user infoview and causing these errors while viewing.
    Open Document error message:
    While viewing Web Intelligence reports
[Session is closed (Error: INF )|http://yfrog.com/0cwebirightsp|Session is closed (Error: INF )]
    While viewing Desktop Intelligence reports
[Cannot open document (Error: INF )|http://yfrog.com/mjdeskirightsp|Cannot open document (Error: INF )]

You might need to give read rights to the folder and category this report belongs to???
If the problem is fixed when the user who is viweing is an administrator, this means there is insufficient privileges for the other users.

  • Getting error while opening document in SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
I got the below error while opening a document in SharePoint library.
"The document could not be opened for editing. A Microsoft SharePoint Foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document."
    Please help me to resolve.
    Krishnasandeep

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got the error while opening a document in SharePoint library.
The issue can occur when you have several different versions of Office installed on the same computer and you have
several different versions of the OWSSUPP DLL available which are not registered correctly.
To resolve this issue you should disable Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Support in any other version of Office installed on the machine and then repair Office.
For more information: you can refer to:
You get an error message when you open an Office file from SharePoint on a computer on which you installed more than one version of Office
In addition, please ensure that you are using Internet Explorer (32 bit) not the Internet Explorer (64-bit).
Please Verify the “Sharepoint OpenDocuments Class” addon is installed and enabled. If it is not reinstall Office.
    Please refer to:
Solved: The document could not be opened for editing. A Microsoft SharePoint Foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document.
And, if the Office tools can’t install correctly will also cause the error.
Here is a thread about this issue, you can check it. The replies include most of the possible reasons and gave the solutions.

  • Flash5.5 "failed to open document" error message

Yesterday I worked on two files both worked fine.  I saved my work and a backup. This morning I got the dreadful message "failed to open document" followed by the path to the file. The output panel gave me this message:
    The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
    In file "/Users/lucilarios/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Javascript/ObjectFindAndSelect.jsfl":
    Cannot find file /Users/lucilarios/Desktop/Trabajo_Macondo3/ProjectAlgebra09/TutorialsAlgebra/Integers/Law sOfAddition/NewProject/AssocLawAdd.fla.
The info on the file size shows 0 bites
Both the file and its backup were corrupted.
Are there compatibility issues betweenAdobe CS5.5 Programs and Mac OX Lion?  Lion has crashed my computer several times and other programs like Photoshop and Adobe Bridge have also misbehaved.  Has anybody experienced any issues with Lion and Flash?

    Hi ,
I'm sorry for the inconvience . We are actively working on with customers in resolving this issue .
Please help us answer the following question below so we can reproduce this issue and provide some solution .
About      the location where .fla file is being saved
To a local drive? (eg. hard drive, SSD drive, USB key,       SD card, opened as email attachment, opened from a zip archive, etc)
…or over a network? (eg. shared Windows folder across       Active Directory network, SMB share between OSX machines, symbolic       link/junction points to path) If so, do they have full file permissions       to write to that folder?
    The      .fla file before corruption/crash
    Reproducible from a new document?
File history. eg. originally created in CS4, saved in       CS5 and re-saved in CS5.5
    3. Where was the backup copy saved ?
    4. Did flash crash y'day while you were saving your Fla file ?
Can you please  email me your corrupt fla as well as any previous version of a working  backup copy if any to [email protected] .

  • Error while open document in CV02N

    Dear all,
In CV01N i have created one document and attached one DOC file also ( Application - WWI). After that i was deleted the attached doc file from my computer because it was already attached. But afterwards i am trying to open the document in CV02N particular file it was not open and giving error message ' File c:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\ttt.doc could not be accessed - Message no. 26136'.
    TTT is my file name.
why it is giving this error. Already my file was attached why should i want to keep this file unneccessarly in my desktop.
Kindly give the solution for this error step by step.
    Regards,
    sakthivel.s

    Hi Saktival,
Was the file checked in before you deleted the file. Only when the file is checked in it is stored in the SAP database.
Create another file, While attaching this file right click on the lock & select check in & save the document. Now delete the file from desktop & check in CV02N.
The above is the manual way of doing this, automatic checkin can also happen with status management.
    Hope this helps.

  • Pesky error when opening document

I have a document (actually several, based on each other) that somehow ended up with a message that comes up every time I open it.  Sorry that I don't know what the exact wording would be in English (I have the Japanese version of CS2), but it's something like: Cannot create composite font "^1". (I think "composite font" is the right term, but I'm not sure - it's the only logical translation of the Japanese word that actually seems to be a real term in English.)  I click OK and the document opens fine, but I'd like to clean up whatever is amiss.  There is no complaint about any fonts in the Search Fonts dialog, and I don't even know what a composite font is (all the Google hits seem to be related to PDF, but I don't think I have ever even used this document to make a PDF, and the error happens when I open the .indd file), so I don't know where to look for what to get rid of in the document so that the error does not appear.  Any guidance?

Thanks for the response.  I'm not having any other problems with the document that I am aware of, and I had been ignoring this error for a couple years, but it was starting to bug me.  So at your suggestion I decided to try the INX trick.  But that had even more dramatic results.  I had no trouble exporting the INX file, but when I tried to open it while another document happened to be open, I got the following message (again, all quotes from messages are translated from Japanese by me, so the English might not match exactly):
Adobe InDesign is shutting down.  A serious error has been detected.  If there are unsaved documents, restart InDesign and restore your work.
When I clicked OK on that message, another popped up on top of it:
Application Error: The command "0x4f79d17c" referenced memory "0x00000014".  The memory could not become "read".  To shutdown the program, click OK.
(Yes, I know that sentence makes no sense, but that's what the Japanese said.)  Even after a reboot it happened again, but the other document had also appeared (because of the recovery mode).  So I opened ID just so I could close the other document, closed and reopened ID with nothing else open, and tried opening the INX file again.  This time I got the original error about the composite font even on the INX file.  Hmph!
So unless you have another idea, I guess this ghost will haunt me permanently...
