Error in opening PDF attachment sent using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1
Hi all,
I am converting script to PDF using FM 'SX_OBJECT_CONVERT_OTF_PDF'. Using this table i am trying to send it as a attachment to mail id. I am able to send the attachment successfully, but not able to open the attachment.
It is giving error as 'Adobe Reader could not open file because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damaged'.
I tried seaching on SDN, but did not get useful answer.
Can you please help me in resolving this error?
Thanks,
Archana
Good day Archana,
This is the same problem we have encountered, this has started after adding a patch.
After doing so much R & D we could not do it. We have written a mail to SAP and they
have instructed the basis consultant to follow certain procedure and finally the issue is
solved.
I suggest you to consult basis consultants.
Regards and Best wishes.

Error while opening PDF attachment sent via mail
Hi,
I am attaching PDF file to PO in me22n and sending the same file as attachment in the mail to the vendor using class CL_BCS.
The mail is sent to the vendor successfully and they are able to successfully open the PDF attachment. But in some cases the mail is successfully received but while opening the attachment it is giving the error as file is corrupted.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks and regards,
JayashreeHi,
I would like to know what font type, you are using in the forms.
Ideally it should be HELVETICA .
If you are using any other font in your style/form,try changing it to HELVETICA & Test.
Also Check the OTF data at the call of gen. FM,before converting it to PDF.
Regds,
AS

How To Open PDF Attached file use CLIENT_HOST 11 g forms
How to open pdf file on client side at 11 g forms ?
when i open any attached (PDF )file on client side is not open those file open on server side plz guide me how to open those file on client machine using client host?
thanksWhere is the pdf you are trying to open? Is it on the server or the client? If the file is stored on the server then you can access it using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT assuming it is stored in a place that has a virtual mapping. For example:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('http://server/someLocation/file.pdf','_blank');If the file is on the client then you need to configure your application to use WebUtil. Then you can do what Francois suggested. -
I cannot open PDF filkes sent via email. I used too. nHow do I fix.
Cannot open PDF files sent via email. The open via Word in encripted jinerish. This has not happend until now.
CiroI had the same problem. My version of RoboHelp is pretty old (x5) and the problem was with pdfs made up in version 9. Some pdfs would open and some would not. It depended on the version used to make the pdf. Got error messages and corrupted file messages.
I solved the problem by using the full version of Acrobat and using the pdf Optimizer to make compatible with version 5( just to make sure).
Another option is to "print" to the pdf printer when the file is open.
Both then can be imported into RoboHelp without a problem
Hope this helps. It ruined many days at work for me while I tried to figure out what on earth I was going to do.

Cannot open PDF attachment in webmail sent from Outlook, says I need to save first; how do I save the link?
Looks like another user asked similar question with over 600 views and no replies ... hmmm. When I click on the attachment, it says I must save it to my disk; with one button mouse just click once and save? I've tried dragging and saving the attachment to word doc but opened up with a page of garbled words/symbols,etc. Any ideas are welcome.

'Failed to create object' when trying to open PDF attachment in Dynamics GP 10 OLE notes
Microsoft Dynamics GP 10 users who updated to Adobe Reader X are getting errors when trying to open or create an OLE attachment on a note.
They get 'Failed to create object' when trying to open an existing and getting 'Failed to connect.
And " Link may be broken" when trying to create a new one.
PDF attachments work pretty fine with previous version of Acrobat reader 7,8,9 up tp 9.4
Now that we install Acrobat X, something has changed.
It only does this for PDF attachments, Other file types work fine.
I was able to remove Adobe Reader X and install a prior version to work around the issue.
Has Adobe developed any Fix for the integration of X and OLE objects.
regards,Hi Gestis,
What version of Adobe Reader are you using?
If its less that 10.1.2, please update it to 10.1.2 and then try to open PDF attachment inDynamcs GP OLE notes. -

Adobe Reader Error in Opening PDF Form
Why do I get this error message when I try to open PDF Application Form using Adobe Reader?
"Error encountered while processing node xfa[0].form[0].form1[0].#subform[5].ApplicationEligibility[0]. Unable to find suitable font for Japanese encoding."Hi Deepak - I am a different user with the same problem as the guy above. I created a form in LiveCycle and when users open it in Reader it gives the error:
"Error encountered while processing node xfa[0].form[0].form1[0].#subform[0].#draw[2]. Unable to find suitable font for Japanese encoding."
Before I try to recreate the form from scratch, do you know how to fix this? For the record, the form was NOT built using any Japanese fonts.
Thanks,

Outlook2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Reader 11
Problem statement: Outlook 2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Adobe Reader 11.0.3
Environment: Windows 8 x64; Office 2013; Adobe Reader 11.0.3
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Open Outlook 2013
2. Open email message with PDF attachment
3. Open PDF attachment (with Adobe Reader as default PDF viewer)
4. Close Adobe Reader
Results: Original email message with PDF attacment now sits behind the main Outlook window
Expected results: Original email message should be on top of main Outlook window as it was when opening the PDF attachment
Note: Adobe Acrobat Profession performs as expected - the original email is on top of the main Outlook window - This only seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader.
Has anyone else experience this problem? If so, have you found a work-around?
Thanks,
MikeFrom: new window opens behind existing window - how to modify?
I had this problem happening in Outlook.
If I tried to open an email, it would open behind the main Outlook window.
The same happened if I opened a link in the email - it would open behind the mail.
The fix that was suggested to me was so simple that I still don't believe it.
Right click on the task bar and unlock the taskbar, then lock it again.
Close down Outlook and re-start it.
Problem solved! Just dont know how or why.

It worked for me with Win 7 and OL 2003. Why? Who cares ... It is working.

Why can't I open pdf documents after using Adobe Reader security?
I have been able to open pdfs perfectly well up until I changed the security settings on Adobe Reader. As I read somewhere that Apples have an inbuilt pdf reader I trashed everything Adobe, but still can't open pdfs. Tried using Preview to no avail.
Is there some other way of opening pdfs without reinstalling Adobe? You didn't think of mentioning that in your first post? So it's not Adobe Reader or Preview you are having problems with. It's pdf's in your browser!
For Safari, you need to remove the adobe pdf plugins which Adobe apparently screwed up. You need to remove:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
I think you can "get away with" removing just the second one. But both for sure should allow you to open pdf's in a browser (all browsers).
