Hi
Check again the availability ot the tables of the select.
It must be a security problem.
If there are sysnonyms, recreated them.

  • Getting error while opening Workbook

    hi Gurus,
In the production system I am getting error while opening the workbook 'THE WORKBOOK DOESNOT EXISTS IN THE DOCUMENT STORES' through analyzer, transported successfully. Even single workbook not able open, even I am able to open the queries, what could be the reason, kindly suggest me ASAP.
    with regards,
    Ravi Kumar.

    Ravi,
They might have got transported. But, they need to be manually put in the roles folder. Ask your manager to do that if you don't have anuthorization.
    You need to goto RSSM.
    Thanks

  • Error while opening Workbook:variables for characteristic cannot be process

    Hi all,
When I try to open the workbook for a particular query, I am getting the following error. Kindly suggest me in rectifying this information message.
"Variables for characteristic [ZDVCODE]Dealer code cannot be processed"
    Regards,
    Steve

I am encountering a very similar warning, so this may shed some light on the matter.  I have a Web Application that runs just fine when it is filtered only by Calendar Day.  However, when I filter the Web Application by Calendar Day and Material Group both, then I get a warning at the top of the output that says "Variables for characteristic [0CALDAY]Calendar Day cannot be processed".
So, at least in my case, the variable isn't deleted, and it actually works just fine buy will spit out this warning under these circumstances.

  • Error while opening workbook

    Hello All,
I am logging into doscoverer with some reponsbility.
While I am trying to open a workbook. It is displaying me with some message like "Item xxxx used by the work book is missing do you like to continue".
what might be the reason behind this.
does it mean though i am having access to work book.
    1) Am I not having access to the business area?
2)Am I not having access to the tables that make up the work book?
Please let me know all possible reasons for this error to occur.
    Kind Regards,
    Kumar

Just one addition to Rod's correct answer. I've seen Disco Admins with 'fat fingers' accidentally wipe out an item in a folder - or in actuality delete one and not understand the ramifications.
Unfortunately, you can't always open your workbook if it's using this item.
The quick fix to opening your workbook is to get the Admin to just add a new item (manually insert into the folder) where it's the same datatype (ie: number or char) and just set it to something it's value to something like 'Russ Was Here'.
Then your workbook will open, you fix the worksheet to either delete the item or point to another, and if desired the item can be deleted again from the EUL. In essence, you're just putting in enough for the workbook to open and go from there.
Just letting you know in case it's a case of a single item missing that's causing the problem in your report and not a security issue or the entire folder now gone.

  • Error when opening workbook

    Hi
I'm recently having a problem when opening a workbook in BEx Analyzer.
This never used to be a problem, however when opneing it now I get following error message:
Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
System error in program CL_RSR_FIPT_TRANSFORMATOR and form GET_MAPPING-01
No information can be found on program CL_RSR_FIPT_TRANSFORMATOR...
I found that it has something to do with a conversion of a Key Figure using a budget rate, after I remove the conversion everything works fine.
Notes found on this problem: 930168
but this note states that support package 8 will solve the problem.
    We are at 16...
    Can someone help me?
    Thnx!
    Kind regards

    Hi Murali
I found that it has something to do with a conversion of a Key Figure using a budget rate, after I remove the conversion everything works fine.
I tried building a new query from scratch, again the error appaers when using the conversion.
I executed other queries which also use the same conversion and they run fine.

  • Error when opening report in Excel

    Hi all,
I'm trying to import an answer (which I made in OBI) to an Excel via sheet (Via the OBI office plugin).
    So what I do is:
    - I navigate to the report I want to open
    - I expand the report so I can see all the views
    - I double click the view I want to open
After doing this, I get following error:
Error while opening workbook. Old format or invalid type library. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80028018 (TYPE_E_INVDATAREAD))
Can any of you help me with this issue?
    Thank you very much

    Hi Srini,
Thanks for your reply, but -for the benefit of other readers- after some research we found that this issue seems to be caused by a Microsoft Office BUG, which is listed on their support website as Article ID 320369 ( BUG: "Old format or invalid type library" error when automating Excel )
The URL to access this article is: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320369

  • Discoverer Desktop (4)- Receiving error Attempt to Open Workbook Failed

    Hi,
The reason for this error is multiple people are opening same workbook. This has never been a problem before as the user would receive message: "Open Workbook as Read Only..."
Now they only get the message: "Attempt to Open Workbook Failed."
We have tested here and have determined it is not a generell issue because we have the problem only on two workstations.
I check the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER for diffenerence between the workstations but without any success.
There is no file access problem
    Any idea?
    Thx
    Arnd

    Hi all,
We are having exactly the same problem. I've come to the point that there's a problem between Discoverer Desktop 4i and XP SP3.
    The scenario we have is:
    a) If an user with SP2 creates a workbook and saves it into the network shared folder,
a.1) It can be opened by users with SP2 as many times as the want. They just receive the "Open Workbook as Read Only" warning message.
a.2) Users with SP3 can open it only if the workbook is not open by any other user. After that all users receive the "Attempt to Open..." error message.
a.3) If a user with SP3 makes any change to the workbook and saves it, it doesn't matter which SP version you have, the file becomes "corrupt" and only one user can open it at the same time.
    b) If an user with SP3 creates a workbook and saves it into the network shared folder it can only be opened by one user at the same time
I've also made tests and the same error occurs if the .dis file is located in a local directory (c:\My Documents for example). I can not open it twice in my computer in two different discoverer desktop instances, and I have SP3, while another user with SP2 can.
Any ideas? Our Discoverer Desktop version is 4.1.48.06.00
    Regards.

  • A critical program error has occured while opening workbook

    Dear friends,
A critical error has occured while opening workbook. The issue is that the same workbook is opening in some one machine but not in others. The following Dialog box is poping out when tried to open workbook:
"A critical program error has occured. The Program will now terminate. Please refer to trace for further information."
However,i  did the full updation of service pack3 of MS Excel 2003 on my machine and the same version as on that particular machine(on which workbook is opening). The problem is still there. Please provide some solution.
    Thankx a lot in advance!!!
    regards,
    Sandeep Singla

The machine where the workbook is opening has a GUI :-
    Release : "710 Final Release"
    File Version : 7100.2.7.1038
    Build : 967944
    Patch Level : 7
and the machine where the critical program error is coming has a GUI :-
    Release : "710 Final Release"
    File Version : 7100.2.8.1039
    Build : 983952
    Patch Level : 8
The Excel 2003 are similar in both the machines as the service pack3 has been installed in the machine where workbook was not opening.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Getting error while opening the workbook

    Hi,
I am getting one error while opening the workbook.
Error: The Dependency "Join condition" is not found in EUL.
Basically, the workbook was working fine. But we droped some joins and recreated new joins. After this change, our worknbooks starts giving this error.
    Please advice.
Where i can get the dependency information in EUL?
    Thanks, rajesh

This has to be one of the most 'pain in the butt' errors you can get (well ... 0000 - normal successful completion is another).
Although I've seen this one for years, these days I'm finding many more examples that are happening to me with this (simply the environment I'm in) and in many cases, requires rebuilding the workbook again. For example, sometimes I put in the join that I think it's having a problem with, but the existing workbook simply won't run. Recreating the workbook exactly the same gets it to work properly. Maybe it's a 4.x thing (version I'm on these days) ... but just a warning that you may well have to rebuild.

Make sure that the user is able to access workstream from the site collection through VPN. If the user is able to access already, try to download the file locally and see if the data is getting loaded and upload again.
