Error in oracle instalation

Im try to install Oracle 10g server in my computer, but when the wizard is attemping to create the starter database(new database) the below errors are coming up.
Ora-19583 conversation terminated due to error
ora-19870 error reading backup piece
ora-00600 internal error code arguments :[krbrckhr_fault]
ora-06512: at "SYS_DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE"
Please any help, its my first oracle instalation.
Thanks !!

And without knowing your version number, operating system, or hardware you would like one of us to peer into a crystal ball, toss coins, use a ouija board, read the stars and tell you what is wrong?
Fascinating. <g>
There is no such thing as 10g. Is this 10.1.0.3 or 10.2.0.4 or something else?
Windows or Linux is not sufficient answer as to your operating system. What is it ... version, edition, reseller, etc.
What are you using to install Oracle? The fact that you have an error with SYS.DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE is reason for anyone trying to help you to be cautious.
And, finally, what documentation did you read before starting the installation and that you are following as you do so.
If your answer is none either go for 3x5 cards or go to http://docs.oracle.com and start at the beginning.

    Hi,
Yes, Solution describe in 350251 - Creating a New or 2nd Oracle SID with runInstaller
    "THE SOLUTION"
The good news is the solution is very simple and takes a few seconds
    First cd /var/opt/oracle
You will find a file called oraInst.loc # cat oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/oracle/PR1/oraInventory
    inst_group=dba
Use vi or emacs to edit the file and change the inventory_loc to the directory of the oracle instance you are currently installing. ie inventory_loc=/oracle/PR2/oraInventory
Restart your oracle installer  eg. su - orapr2
    cd /oracle/stage/816_64
    setenv DISPLAY localhost:0.0
    ./runInstaller

    Khalid,
This combination is strongly not recommended. Oracle 8.0.5 was built with GNU Lib C 2.0, which is 2 generations ago. It will not work once installed and I do not know if the old glibc compatibility libraries would be available.
I would encourage you to use Oracle 8i (8.1.7.0.1) or wait a few days for Oracle 9i.

Do a search to find all copies of psapi.dll. You only need the one for IE 7. Rename the other one(s).

  • Deployment Manager Error with Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.1

I have installed Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 (patch upgraded from 9.1.0.1) on OEL 5.3 64bit and Weblogic 10.3.1
    Database:Oracle 11gR2 (remote machine).
**I am aware that IM 9.1.0.2 is not certified on Weblogic 10.3.1 (it is only certified on 10.3),
The installation was successful and OIManager is up and running. Able to create Users, Resources etc. as well.
As part of configuring OIM Connectors tried to Import .xml file using Import option from Deployment Management section as below and the following error was displayed.
"Either your session timed out or you are trying to access a page without logging in".
Did all workarounds like enabling java, changing browsers, restarting machine etc as per the below discussion but in vain.
Deployment Manager Error with Oracle Weblogic Server
Can any one suggest any workaround or solution for this problem.
Or atleast can any one confirm there is no Identity manager available on this date which is compatible with 10.3.1? and cannot be continued further.
    Thanks in Advance

Edited by: SudheerPrabhala on Oct 20, 2009 1:26 AM

You are facing this issue because you're using a non certified combination.
Other folks who tried to use OIM in 10.3.1 ended up in the same problem you're facing.

Assuming that you are following the written instructions available at http://docs.oracle.com that walk you through the install. And assuming you installed the correct versions of libraries. And assuming you set permissions correctly.
I'd suggest metalink and opening an SR.
If you didn't follow the docs ... rm -rf would be a good place to start.

Make sure the path to the ODAC used by BAM (C:\OracleBAM\ClientForBAM\bin) is the first item in the system PATH
environment variable. Restart your computer after fixing this.
If that doesn't fix it, please check the Troubleshooting section in the BAM Install Guide.

  • ODBC error in oracle 11g

    Hi all.
I have installed oracle 11g release 2 64 bit on my system and also installed Informatica powercenter 9.1. the informatica repository is in oracle database. I have configured informatica perfectly since i could run workflow when connecting to flat files etc. i am having problem when i am trying to connect informatica to oracle source system and receiving following error the oracle(tm) client and networking components were not found. I read in many forums posts and realized i should install oracle client. I am encountering issues once the client is installed on my system. the issue is that my repository and integration server stops in informatica powercenter. the error log says TNS could not be resolved. then i tried to log in to database server "sys as sysdba" i am receiving error "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges ". I have done following things to resolve my error
    1) checked my user is in ora_dba group
    2) checked sqlnet.ora file SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
I dont know where to start to now fix this error. I have some questions Is there a problem installing both server and client on the same machine.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
P.s I am not sure whether this to redirected to informatica forums or oracle forums so my apologizes if i am in a wrong place.

I suspect you're actually using 32 bit components, as I've only ever seen the error message you've posted "oracle(tm) client and networking components were not found" come from Microsoft ODBC or OLEDB provider for Oracle, and those only come in 32 bit. The fact that they got loaded in the first place and didnt find the client indicates the process is 32 bit.
You'll first need to determine for sure whether the process that needs connectivity is 32 bit or 64 bit, then install that bit-ness of Oracle client. You can also install both a 32 bit and a 64 bit client, and in some cases you need both. If you're running it ON the database machine and already have a 64 bit database, that already includes a 64 bit client.
In either case, you can probably just go with the 11201 client.. Here's the link, click "see all" to get to the client download:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
    Hope it helps,
    Greg

  • Installation errors with Oracle 10g Express Edition client.

    Hi,
I want to use the Oracle 10g XE client on my Ubuntu (Lucid) laptop. I am following the installation instructions as mentioned at Installing Database Oracle XE Client. When I run the .sh file for my bash shell, I keep getting this error message:
    root@machine:/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/client/bin# . ./oracle_env.sh
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/client/bin/nls_lang.sh: 112: [[: not found
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/client/bin/nls_lang.sh: 112: [[: not foundAnd, when I look up nls_lang.sh at around line 112, I see this:
    # Detertmine the LANGUAGE_TERRITORY part of NLS_LANG
    # we derive it from the current locale by inspecting the LC_ALL and
    # the LANG environment variable. Other LC_* environment variables
    # are not inspected.
    if [[ -n "$LC_ALL" ]]; then
      locale=$LC_ALL
    elif [[ -n "$LANG" ]]; then
      locale=$LANG
    else
      locale=
fiHow do I get the client working ?

So, I have been searching around to look for a method to enable the client installed on my laptop to connect to the database. Granted that, the server is not installed on my local machine. But, I am simply, unable to find any clues as to how do I specify the database name that the client should connect. The ORACLE_SID parameter needs to hold a database name; but, where are the IP address and port number mentioned for the database ? One site recommended that tnsping be used to check for database existence; whereas, tnsping is not installed. Then, the commonest hint that I keep bumping into - TNSNAMES.ORA file. Since I have only the client installed, I don't even see the network/admin folder (or whatever the path is to the .ora file) under /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.
It can't be this hard to connect to an Oracle server with only a itsy-bitsy Oracle installed on my local machine, hmmm ?

  • Error connecting oracle 11g through SQL Developer

i am using SQL Developer to connect to oracle 11g which is installed to another machine in same network
means i am using a client machine to get connected to oracle installed to host machine through SQL Developer
    iam getting this error
network adapter could not establish the connection
    vendor code 170002
    my listener.ora

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
iam not understanding what is problem
    please somebody help

I would say it's vendor code 17002 (not 170002). And such a message is thrown by SQL Developer , unfortunately very generic for any kind of connection problems.
Start sqlplus and try to connect, very likely you get a better error message.
Recently I had such a connection problem and the reason was - No Listener.

  • Error Opening Oracle Terminal File fmrweb.

I installed 9IAS portal and the forms/reports server. The portal works fine, but when I try the 'Run Form Web ( runform.htm)' I get an error "Error opening Oracle*Terminal file fmrweb." The file does exist in my c:\oracle\806\forms60 directory and my FORMS60_PATH is set to c:\oracle\806\forms60 as well. Anybody having ( had ) similar problems? Note: 8.1.7, portal, and formsserver installed on the same Win 2000 machine. No Oracle apps. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Christian,
It's probably working because you're now using fmrweb.res instead of the foobar fmrwebdk.res. Just look out for that missing quotation mark :)

  • ORA-12560 error during 11G Install

    Hi,
I am trying to install 11G on my WIN XP Pro laptop.During the installation process, whilst the database configuration assistant is on the "Completing Database Creation" stage, ORA-12560 TNS:Protocol Adpater error is thrown.
I've followed all steps so far in the install guide including installing Microsoft Loopback Adapter for my DHCP laptop but to no avail.
Anyone's been through this thing before? Appreciate a quick repsosne please.
    Thanks.

Here's the extract from the log at C:\app\gopher\cfgtoollogs\dbca\homedatabase.I've highlighted the TNS protocol error in bold.
