Error in Oracle IRM 11g - Offline access

Hello.
I am working with the last version of Oracle IRM Server, 11g. I'm having a problem with the Offline access element. I modified role Contributor in a way that is not allowed to work offline. To do that, I unchecked the box "Allow working offline"
After that, I logged in IRM Desktop in order to create a new sealed document. However, when I tried to refresh the contexts in which the user have rights to seal, the list was empty.
It might be a bug? Or there is something that I have to do when I don't want a user to work offline?
Thank you.

Hi
this is expected behaviour, online licenses do not synchronize so they are not available for sealing. I guess we haven't made that clear in the documentation.
I would be keen to hear what you are doing with 11g as an early adopter; so please feel free to email me at [email protected] I may be able to give you some pointers.

  • Oracle IRM 11g & Sharepoint

    Hi,
Can anyone list the documentation or steps how to integrate IRM 11g and sharepoint 2007 & 2010
Also how to configure Microsoft SharePoint to search sealed documents.
    regards,
    k

    Hi
We don't have any formal documentation for integrating with SharePoint. There is no out-of-the-box integration for automated sealing and rights delegation; but you can use the APIs (described in detail in the Developer's Guide) as several other customers have done.
For example you could use Web Services or Java API to automatically seal files in a particular workspace when they are checked in. If you don't want to perform the integration, you could simply run the Hot Folders open source project on your SharePoint server to perform the same functionality.
There is an out-of-the-box integration with SharePoint Indexing Service: this is described in detail in the knowledgebase article 471857.1 - Search and Index Sealed Content in SharePoint 2007 Repository in My Oracle Support (support.oracle.com).
To find links to the Developer's Guide and the Hot Folders project got to the Oracle Technology Network page for IRM: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/content-management/irm/develop/index.html

  • Error upgrading Oracle DBPersonal 11g R1 x86 from 11.1.0.6.0 to 11.1.0.7.0

    Hello,
I had to manually upgrade the Oracle Database 11g R1 x86 from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7. For this, i did the following:
    - I went to the command promt, and started an sqlplus shell with / as sysdba
    - then i've shutted down the database, exited the sqlplus shell, stopped the dbconsole and the lsnrctl
    - afterwards, I've started again the sqlplus shell, and I've run
         - STARTUP UPGRADE
         - SPOOL patch.log
         - _@$ORACLE_HOME\RDBMS\ADMIN\catupgrd.sql_
         - SPOOL OFF
         - STARTUP
         - _@$ORACLE_HOME\RDBMS\ADMIN\utlrp.sql_
         - EXIT
         Everything went fine so far.
    - finnally, I've run the "_emca -upgrade db_" command in a command prompt.
This final command did not complete successfully. The final message from the log file is "Could not backup file $ORACLE_HOME\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4J_DBConsole_MYCOMPUTERNAME_orcl".
Also, I have a great feeling that the upgrade didn't work... Everything I open an sql shell, it says "Connected to Personal Oracle Database 11g Release 11.1.0.6.0" and not "11.1.0.7.0".
Finnaly, I've tried using the Database Upgrade Assistant, but I get the following message: could not get the database server from the "Oracle Server" component. The "CEP" file %ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\rdbmsup.sql does not provide the version directive.
    My questions are:
    1. How can I check if the upgrade was successful or not?
    2. If the upgrade wasn't successful, how can I make it work? Can I still upgrade it, or is it a lost cause?
    Thanks.
PS: the machine running the database is a Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition R2 x86, with SP2 installed.

After you shut down the database, you need to install the 11.1.0.7 software patch into your current ORACLE_HOME before upgrading the database. I do not see that in your steps you outlined above. You can download the 11.1.0.7 patch software from MOS.

  • Agent Connection to Instance error in Oracle Database 11G EM

    Hi
I am getting the following error message when logging into EM on Oracle 11G Database.
Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).
Users can connect to the database no problem and it shows the Database Instance down, Agent Connection to Instance failed. The General tab shows green and the database is up.
I have checked the emctl status and lsnrctl commands and the listener is up and servicing the database. I checked the ORACLE_SID environment (in Windows Server 2003) and this is correct.
I have recently changed the passwords for SYSMAN and DBNSMP which were due to expire and since then the EM console has not loaded correctly.
As I said the database is up and can service users through their application.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Respect.

    Hi
The listener is up and is handling the database and users are connecting succesfully. I think it is more to do with the Enterprise Manager.
Can anyone give me some further info to troubleshoot?
    Regards
    Spencer

If you create a new application and try to create a new JSF page there are you still getting this error?
If you do then I think something in your installation went wrong - the first step would then be to delete the system directory at: C:\Documents and Settings\youruser\Application Data\JDeveloper and restart JDeveloper.

I installed WLS server (10.3.2) successfully.

Problem fixed. It was a folder security with Windows 7. When setting folder security on the root folder, it did not cascade to all the subfolders, even checked off the "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object". After searching many folders, the "oracle_common" folder was access is denied. Granted permission to this folder, and able to start Oracle Reports with no errors (without to run as Admin).

  • Oracle Mail webclient error and Oracle Files web error

    Having some problems with Collaboration.
    I've made a single-box installation on a Windows 2000 with SP4.
    The installation was successfully done.
The problems that I have are listed below:
    1) Error in Oracle Mail webclient
When accessing the Oracle Mail webclient, I'm getting the following messages:
"Application Error. An error occurred during log in"
then, when I click im "Mail", I get:
"Application Error. Error occurred while refreshing folder list"
I've tried the steps related in the 247517.1 document, but I'm still getting the same errors.
On the Collaboration Suite start page (when user logs in), the user can see the Oracle Mail portlet whithout any problem:
Welcome to Collaboration Suite Mail, USERID
You have 0 message(s) in Inbox.
    0 unread message(s), 0 voice message(s), and 0 fax message(s).
    2) Oracle Files is not accessible in the HTTP page.
I can access the Files by a FTP client, but when I try the http://host:port/files/app url, iget the 503 error message.
I've seen a lot of messages about this here in Metalik, but none of them could solve my problem.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 w/ unixODC connect to Oracle DB 11g

    Hi,
I am trying to configure our new install of Oracle Unbreakable linux (Enterprise v5) to connect to our Oracle 11g DB via ODBC. I have configured the odbc.ini and odbcinst.ini files. I have tried to do a test connection using isql. This is the error I am getting....
    $ isql -v JSI
isql: symbol lookup error: /opt/oracle/product/11g/lib/libsqora.so.11.1: undefined symbol: SQLGetPrivateProfileStringW
I understand this issue is with unixODBC and the liib.... libodbcinst.so.1.0.0. However, I have not found a way to fix this. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated on getting this working.

Well I have gotten a bit further along. I was able to get a working 2.2.12 rpm. I now issue the command....
    $isql -v JSI
    [S1000][unixODBC][Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-12504: TNS:listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA
    [ISQL]ERROR: Could not SQLConnect
Now I am getting this error.
I also know that my tnsnames.ora and linstener.ora files are correct b/c I can connect to remote Databases using sqlplus. I have downloaded a free trial of easysofts Oracle ODBC Driver and it works perfectly. So my configs should be right. My yquestion I guess is why does the Oracle supplied ODBC driver not work?

    Hi,
You can try running ctxkbtc once more with revert option.

Make sure to set NLS_LANG variable before running it

Oracle Functional Testing’s OpenScript scripting platform has the following system

  • Error retrieving data in Oracle BI 11g from DB2 AS/400

    Hello everybody,
In my Oracle BI 11g environment I want to have data coming from a DB2 AS/400 database. Retrieving the tables from the database in BI Administration and building the repository works fine. But as soon as I want to see the data (from the BI Administration or BI Answers) I get the following error (in BI Answers):
    +Description: System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException: ERROR [08S01] [IBM][iSeries Access ODBC Driver]Communication link failure. comm rc=11004 - CWBCO1011 - Remote port could not be resolved+
I tried some different settings (ODBC Basis, ODBC Advanced and AS/400) as a databasetype and different type of connections (ODBC 2.0 and ODBC 3.5) in the connection pool. But non of the settings seems to solve the problem.
When I try to query the database using another tool, Oracle Interactive Reporting, everything works fine as long as I use ODBC as both database- and connectiontype.
Does anybode got an idea how this can be solved/where to look for a solution?
    Thanks in advance!
    With regards,
    Dennis de Kock

    Hi Dennis,
We have used default ODBC 3.5 to connect DB2 AS400 iseries but we would like to know from Oracle what is the certified client connectivity software to use.
Afte Opening SR with Oracle they have mentioned that Oracle has not tested and it is not a certified database to support as per SRSP document.
Please let me know your feedback if you have contacted Oracle on this ?
    Thanks

Okay, before I post my info, I searched and searched everywhere via Google, OTN, Experts-Exchange, etc...to try to figure this one out and I'm stumped. So here goes. I get the dreaded "*ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified*" error. Here's my environment:
Server: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 version runs the following:
    Oracle Database 11g (Rel 1): 11.2.0.10
Oracle Fusion Middleware Forms Server 11g (Rel. 11.1.1.2.0)
I can connect via SQL+ no problem
Client: My Windows XP Professional PC.
I can TNSPING the database SID no problem.
I can connect via SQL+ no problem
I can connect via TOAD to the db no problem
I can connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager via the web interface no problem
I do have 2 Oracle Homes (Oracle 8.0.6, Oracle 11.1.0.1) on my PC. Currently the current home is the 11g one. I do have my paths on my PC setup fine.
The problem is when I try to run a sample form via the web I created, the login prompt comes up and I enter my username/password/database SID and that's when I get the error. Any clues as to what I should look for? Eventually this will be an app that all the users will be accessing and they shouldn't have to worry about having anything setup on their PCs.
    Thanks

Also keep in mind that tnsnames.ora file in forms 11g is under $ORACLE_INSTANCE/configBINGO!!!!!!!!!! We have a winner! Thank you so much "ashosheh". I looked and there WAS a tnsnames in the directory "Oracle/Middleware/asinst_1/config"....*BUT* it was a sample one. Meaning there was no entry just comments showing you a sample version of a TNS Names entry. So I copied my entry from another TNSNAMES and put it in there and voila...I was able to connect.
Thank you very much. This was driving me nutz all of last week!

  • Oracle DB 11g Release 2 installation error

    Hi,
I have download latest Oracle DB 11g R 2 from OTN. While during setup i am getting the below errors
    1) Oracle Database Configuration -- "Failed"
    2) Oracle Database Configuration Assistant "Failed"
I am not able to connect the DB with SQL Developer.
What could be the problem ?
I am newibe to Oracle DB. Just I want to use to Oracle DB for Webcenter.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Venu--

    Hi
I am wondering if this problem could be closely associated to the problem that I am experiencing in that the installation on Windows 7 (Home) fails during Enterprise Manager emca step because of listener problems.
Investigating the listener status subsequently it seems that the database will not register with the listener and therefore database access via SQL*Net (e.g. sqlplus user/pwd@orcl) simply doesn't work.
Currently I am at a loss to explain why the database won't register.
