Error in OS X Mavericks

good morning
I upgraded from OS 10.9 APP STORE Mavericks are performing a clean install, I understand that like millions of others, I had installed on my Macbook Pro OS Mountain Lion. Everything seemed right, a normal update, but to my surprise as beginning with the new OS X noticed that the screen does not slide well, it has a clean slide, ie when I move the screen Trackpad will "jump" is in Safari, Launchpad, App Store, etc ..... in any software. No happens to Mac and do not know how to fix it, I will have an error when installing the OS, but I'm no expert on OS. Therefore I request help to resolve this problem. I hope someone help me.
Thanks and greetings to all

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select
              /var/log ▹ appstore.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

  • I'm having an error message 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' every time when I try to download it

I'm having an error message 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' or '' An error has occured'' every time when I try to download it,, plz help me to fix it... :/

I have been reading the forum and other sites and no surprise that bugs do creep in from time to time and need to be fixed. Any new OS will come with bugs and i think this is one.  Yes they will fix it and then we will be able to download, but I do not think that the problem is due to too much traffic. However, is good to let Apple know about problem, so they can fix it.

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, click on More Info, and check the model identifier against the following, which are the earliest Macs of each type that can run Mountain Lion and Mavericks:

  • Disk error after upgrading to Mavericks

Mountain Lion was runnning slowly on my Macbook Pro and so I decided to upgrade to Mavericks and then follow the defrag instructions here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4032
Everything seems to work fine after completing the instructions, except that when I try and repair/verify the HD (both in Disk Utility and Onyx), I get this message:
"Error: Live file system repair is not supported"
Onyx tells me to boot holding down command + R and then verify/repair the disk when booted from OSX Recovery, which I did and it said the disk was verified. However when I boot back from the HD and go back into Disk Utility, I get the same error. I also tried verifying/repairing the HD when booted from the Carbon Copy I'd created (from the above defrag instructions), and again it says that the HD is fine.
So the problem seems to be that when booted from the HD, the HD isn't able to verify itself, even though when booted from another startup volume it seems to be fine. Mavericks seems to be running smoothly in general so I'm not too concerned, but obviously it is a bit concerning that I can't verify the volume (especially in case future problems arise), and so it would be good to fix this issue.

I can second that a bad HDD can check out with a good SMART status and be verified OK with Disk Utility and still be bad.  My MacBook Pro is under 1yr old and it started acting iffy (long wake up times, random shut downs) but the SMART Status checked out and DU verified it OK, what tipped me off was Apple Hardware Test (restart + "D") wouldn't complete and just freeze, even after letting it run for 24+ hrs.  I then ran a 3rd party system maintenance program called Techtools Pro 7 and everything checked out OK but the HDD surface scan which checks for bad blocks.  It projected it would take 28 hrs to finish and after just 3 hrs it had located over 1500 bad blocks.  I cut the test short and took it to Apple and the guy ran a HDD check and within a few minutes a big RED banner popped up saying FAILED.  My warrantee runs out in two days so I just saved $160 by ignoring Disk Utility.  OP maybe run a 3rd party disk program and see if the drive is ok physically.

  • HP office jet pro 8600- "No document loaded" error message with OS Mavericks 10.9.1 when scanning

I am unable to scan from either my HP officejet pro 8600 printer or  my iMac, using OS Mavericks 10.9.1.  From computer, message in sequence are:  1) Waiting for scanner 2) no document loaded and 3) scanner failed to complete the scan (this after changing defaults to match type of feed and document.  I can print and copy fine.
From the printer, I receive the following messages:  Scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following:
    1) Connection to computer is lost, 2) The scan application or computer is currently in use (Not that I can see) and 3) OCR application is not installed on the computer (have installed and re-installed driver several times, with help of HP customer support person).
I have spent 1-1/2 hours on the phone with an hp customer  support person trying to resolve the problem, based on the above results.  I have also read the solutions on this forum, none of which seemed to either apply or work.

    Hi Trishan,
I know you have done a great deal of troubleshooting already and have invested more time than I am sure you would like to have, but I have a document for you to use. I have seen success from those who have used this document.
Communication Error between the Scanner and Your Computer in Mac
You will find, after opening the link, that the 10.9 is not listed; however, this document does apply to all of the Mac operating systems.
    I hope this helps.

  • Error message when installing Mavericks...

After successfully downloading, the install program error messa
'this version has virus... remove and download new version."
After 5 or 6 times of this, still nothing... help!

how did you change networks? I'm not sure I follow that idea.
I got my stepdad a mac mini, trying to update it to Mavericks. Rather surprised it isn't already installed on it as I just ordered it last week from the apple store. At any rate,
I keep getting the dreaded "This copy of the Install OS X Mavericks.app application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading."
#1 - They have slow internet. It is considered broadband, but realistically, only about 2 mb/s. Ugh.
#2 - I have deleted and redownloaded multiple times, no help. I tried not deleting and redownloading, no help.
#3 - I turned off wifi and made sure to use only the ethernet cable, no help
#4 - I've said ugly things about Apple and Praised windows, no help. I spoke bad about windows and Praised Mavericks, no help (just a moment of levity)
#5 - I verified the date is correct through terminal and through the preferences pain, verified time zone, etc. No help.
I have read about changing networks, but not sure how to do that or what that implies. Is that saying I force the computer to go through a different server to communicate with apples servers? My parents live in Ruidoso, New Mexico, atop a mountain so to speak. It is cable modem, but slow. The server location is about 1.5 hours away in Roswell, NM. Maybe the Aliens from outer space are corrupting this...lol.
How do I choose a different server or network?
Only thing I can think of at this point is to go back to my place in Fort Worth, download it onto a flash drive, mail it to him, and hold my breath without turning blue.
Any suggestions and enlightenment on changing networks?
    Thanks

  • Error log: when installing Mavericks

I have successfully dowloaded Mavericks from the Software Update app, but when rebooted, the installer fails and presents an error log. This happens after a couple of minutes.
My theory is that its an Apple ID issue, (due to setting up a new account recently), but I didnt want to go through setting up another new account only for it to happen again.
It could be something completly different.
Here is a link to the error log:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4480360/Installer%20Log%2024-Oct-2013.txt
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Immediately after upgrading to Mavericks my Mid 2009 MacBook Pro that was purchased in September of 2013 received a service battery error.  The laptop will continue to charge while plugged in, but loses battery power at an alarming rate when unplugged.  Has Apple addressed this problem yet, and when can we expect a solution or repair for this?

  • I keep getting an error after downloading the Mavericks upgrade

I have a 2011 mac mini running Lion 10.7.5  that I want to upgrade to mavericks. I have not had it very long so I hardly have anything on it. I have downloaded and installed all of the updates and verified that the hdd is ok and downloaded the free Mavericks upgrade then when it finishes the  5.30 gb file download I get an error and a cancel or retry option. Did this 3 times. I would appreciate any help or ideas that anyone can suggest. Thanks

HI, Thanks for asking but although i can use wifi, I made sure that I am using the wired ethernet for the upgrade. It will complete the download but just as soon as it completes the 5.30 gb file that is when I get the error. I think that I have everything covered on the check list as far as preparing it for Mavericks. I have no hardware hooked up to it only usb keyboard and bluetooth mouse. I even unhooked the super drive. After doing some checking I'm not so sure that the upgrade is worth it. I have a program I want to install that says requrements are Mac OSX 10.8 or higher that is why I wanted to do it but the majority or people seem to be having serious issues with Mavericks. I'm starting to think it may not be worth the trouble. Thanks for your reply
