Error in PDF

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in one of my PDF forms in WebDynpro. I have 2 subforms (one set as a Table and another as Western Text to display n records by looping the Node) which contains an Input field for displaying a value in my PDF form. But the problem is that when the last line of the page is encountered the remaining data is not flown to the next page, instead data is again started from the first line.
Eg: if is content to be displayed
1. I am an SDn user
2. I have a problem in PDF
3. Please resolve it.
then if the end of page in encountered in the 2nd Point, after starting in the next page the 3rd data is not displayed, but 1st point is again displayed
I tried by changing the settings of the Subform (Allow page break within contents option).
Now every record is displayed in fresh page if i remove the option of Allow page break in the inner subform and if i dont do that then the records are displayed one below the other but the overflow does not take place and the problem mentioned above happens.
Please let me know what has to be done to achieve both of them (one record following the other and repetations of the old data)

I encountered the same issue during my development on one of the applications and resolved it. But for your issue will need some more information like the NWDS version u are using, the designer version. Also, if u can specify more settings that you are using like:
1. The formStructure (subforms)
2. Layout properties
3. the filed properties where you are flowing the data.
May be I can help u with these information.

Receiving error on 2 different computers when trying to open pdf documents to print. One computer has Adobe Acrobat X and the other has Adobe Reader XL 11.0.05,

Is this form created in LiveCycle?
That is the Adobe product that creates an XML form.

There's probably a graphic on one of your pages that is causing a postscript division error (i.e. divide by zero?) See also: PostScript error offending command div
As Jeff suggests, track down the errant graphic to see what's wrong. If you print to file, you should get an idea of roughly where in the docs the error occurs by watching the print thermometer display.

My requirement is when i run the first report the second report should generate pdf in unix directory ('/ora1/app/1.pdf').
If i use my local drive pdf is getting created but, if I use unix directory in the desname (dynamically) , iam getting error SCABA 14.

has the oracle user respectively the User that starts the Oracle Reports process on your unix machine the right to write in the specified unix directory? If this doens´t help you make sure you give the report the right directory values and try some variants of this directory values.

Recently we migrated lot of crystal reports from BO XI R2 environment to BO 3.1 SP2 FP 2.5 environment, these crystal reports are integrated with the application.
Input parameters are given through the application using the Open Document URL and the report will open through the infoview.
This particular error arises when we try to open the report as PDF using Open Document URL,

Error in PDF preview Handler in Windows Explorer x32

I'm running Windows 7, 32 bit. and I get this error when trying to view a pdf in the preview pane "Error in PDF Preview Handler". I have Adobe Reader X installed, and have re-installed it with no help.
I've read many problems about this, but everyone else is running 64 bit. I'm running 32.

I solved my problem with the exchange of the UNC path against drive letters for the folders in
Administration - System initialisation - General settings - Tab Path
Before:
sbo-data\ruk\attachemnts
After: E:\ruk\attachements (E: is a local drive of the server and we run B1 via Windows Terminal Client on the same machine)
Before I did this, I checked the user rights on the paths, checked the DNS, hosts file, etc.

The address is http://<host>:<port>/inspection.wsil
It need not be localhost. Any address that's visible to the WAS where you are configuring should work. Make sure to provide the user account and password configured for ADS on the security settings of the destination.
One other thing I forgot to ask - did you do all the steps requried to configure ADS with CE? If not, please send me your email address and I'll send you the doc.

Error Generating PDF

Guys,
I am trying to use the EXPORT Data functionality in VC and do a "PRINT PDF". I followed the "HOW to EXPORT DATA from VC" document which had the following formula

Everything else works when I do the Export, for example : Export to Excel, Export to CSV but the PDF one gives an error "Error Generating PDF".
When I click the button, it seems like VC does communicate with the PORTAL CONTENT DIRECTORY, since it does bring up the selections box(screen) for PDF, but as soon as I click ok , it gives a message on the top left of the screen as "Error Generating PDF".
We have BI 7.0 with the patch 10
VC version is 7
Have ADS setup on the server which is Configured correctly to have ADS (32 bit).
Desperately waiting for some help here!!!!!!!

Please check the following SAP Notes for details:
Note 928493 - Error when generating a PDF
Note 925741 - Adobe document services (ADS) with non-supported platforms
Note 944221 - Troubleshooting if problems occur in forms processing
Also, recheck the ADS configuration and see that ADSUSER Password has not expired. If issue persists set the Trace Level for Web Dynpro to 'ALL'. You can find detailed information about setting the Trace Level in Note 742674. This should give you more details of the error.

Small error in pdf spec

found a possible error in the pdf spec PDF 32000-1:2008:
page 385, Table 165 – Annotation flags
8 bit position - Locked (PDF 1.4)
In pdf 1.4 there was no flag 'locked' at the 8bit position.
(there are also lots of spelling mistakes but don't want to nit-pick ;-)

Actually, that is correct. As reflected in the PDF 1.5 reference, Section H.3, Notes on 8.4.2:
Acrobat 5.0 obeys the Locked flag only for widget annotations. In Acrobat
6.0, markup annotations support it as well.

Error opening PDF downloaded from Interactive Report

hi -- I'm getting an error opening a PDF file downloaded from an interactive report.
I've seen on the forum that this could be related to the size of the file, but I've tried
this out on 10-row results (1k files) and it's still an issue.
I save the file to my file system. If I try to open it in Adobe Reader, I get:
File does not begin with '%PDF-'
and
Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
If I try to open in Internet Explorer, I get:
File does not begin with '%PDF-'
Other users are having the same problem. Download to csv and open in Excel works fine.
Do I need to have special print attributes for this? I didn't think so... I'm just using the defaults
(response header = report settings, content disposition = attachment).

I'm having the same problem that was described above, and my site does have BI Publisher installed, and it does successfully produce readable pdfs for many reports.
But there are other reports, even reports produced using the Apex Wizard and all defaults, that just keep producing the same Adobe Reader error reported above, ie
"Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

Error displaying pdf (only for one user)

Hello,
A user is facing a problem when running a program that displays a pdf. He gets the error :
"Adobe could not open "xxx.pdf" because it*s either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged..."
All other users can see correctly the pdf.

Hi Lalmar,
You might be trying to download a pdf file and lock it with password using webservice. If there is a connection problem, the pdf would be corrupted.
But as you are saying its specific to a particular user ask him to check re-installing Adobe.

I'm trying to get the deductions certificate (RPC190E0) in PDF format.
If we customize to get this certificate in SAPSCRIPT (table V_T799BSFT) the result is correct.
But if we customize to get this certificate in PDF when we run the report we get this error:

I have had the same problem in the past, talked with my system guy who solved it out.... misconfiguration of printers...
