Error in persistence (in EP)
All,
The only user which is left unlocked in EP is j2ee_admin (which has Administrator role). By loggin in using this user when i try to unlock the user 'admin' i get the following error,
[631ffffffd6600812]#nvpal145_ERP_103929350#J2EE_ADMIN#0fab39d091da11dcaf4d005056843a93#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_33##0#0#Warning#1#com.sap.security.core.persistence#Java#ABAP message " " () returned from function in backend system ##ABAP message " " () returned from function in backend system #5#01#513#You are not authorized to unlock users in group SUPER#
When i try to create a new user, it says error in persistence

I have checked,
the roles for SAPJSF user on the ABAP system
The role assigned was SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO changed it to SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION.
Restarted SAP Server but error persists
Checked dataSourceConfiguration XML file in configtool.
Refered SAP Note 718383 for the procedure,
ume.persistence.data_source_configuration = dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml -So No change is possible.
Any ideas whats happening
Just to note i have changed the role assigned to SAPJSF from SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO to SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION through SU01

SXMB_MONI - Error accessing persistence layer
Hi,
In SXMB_MONI there are messages with status "system error manual restart possible" and "scheduled". when i try opening those messages it says "XML message not found". I no longer need those messages and want to delete them. But when i try to cancel those messages it says " Error accessing persistence layer".
Is there any way by which I can delete those messages?

NW2004s EP create user fails; error in persistence
I am trying to create user and add roles, however whenever I attempt to save, I get an error message that states there is an error in persistence, please contact administrator.
Has anyone seen this error before?
Thanks,
JRHi All,
I had the similar problem while creating users. I was able to create users in ABAP but not in JAVA.When I logged into UME using J2EE_ADMIN, and tried creating a user it gave an error.
"Error occured in the Persistence, Contact your administrator"
I found a solution for the error.
Check the roles for SAPJSF user on the ABAP
system
If the role assigned is SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO change it to SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION.
Restart your SAP Server and try whether u get the same error.
If the situation persists,
Check dataSourceConfiguration XML file in configtool.
Refer SAP Note 718383 for the procedure.

Hi everybody,
this problem has been haunting me for days now.
I have this JSE application that uses toplink essentias for his persistence layer.
Everything works fine in Eclipse, but when i try to execute it outside eclipse i get the following error:

my persistence.xml looks like this:

Does anyone knows why this happen?
currently im using the latest build from v2: V2_build_58g (V2 Final)
but i used othes from v2.1 branch, and got the same results.
thanks for the help.
p.s.: Sorry for my bad englishHi,
If you are having the same error as the first post where your PU was not found - even though you have all the correct jars in your classpath (and you don't have the problem with %20 spaces or unrecognized UTF-8 chars in the path to your persistence.xml - then you may have one of the following issues...
- dependent jars like toplink*.jar are not visible to your application-managed EM's classloader - IE the TopLink library is lower
- your server's classpath is incorrectly modified
- you do not have references specified in one or all of your *application.xml, .MANIFEST, ejb-jar or web.xml reference descriptors.
- another provider library is being loaded ahead of TopLink.
- several other scenarios I still need to expand on....
I am able to reproduce recently the same issue on demand on several application servers if I remove jars, hack the server's classpath or attempt to override a partial set of dependent jars via several application-managed scenarios.
thank you
/michael

I'm running into a ClassCastException (see below) when trying to deploy a EJB application. I'm using WebLogic 10.3.4 and have the following PRE_CLASSPATH variable set in my wlserver_10.3\common\bin\commEnv.cmd script.
set PRE_CLASSPATH=%BEA_HOME%\modules\javax.persistence_1.0.0.0_2-0-0.jar;%BEA_HOME%\modules\com.oracle.jpa2support_1.0.0.0_2-0.jar
My EJB application is trying to use the latest/current OpenJPA 2.0.1 and my ejb.jar has a Class-path specified in its META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file, pointing to a provided open-all-2.0.1.jar. This openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar library file is packaged at the ear application level.
I would really like to use the latest/current OpenJPA 2.0.1 as mentioned above - instead of the Weblogic provided OpenJPA snapshot but for the purpose of testing ... If I don't provide the ebj.jar a Class-path and don't package the open-all-2.0.1.jar lib in my ear, I'll get the ClassNotFoundException error (Error processing persistence unit oraexeu of module ReportBrokerService.jar: Error instantiating the Persistence Provider class org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl of the PersistenceUnit oraexeu: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl). It doesn't matter if I specify <provider>org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl</provider> in my persistence.xml or not.
My weblogic-application.xml file contains the followings. Please ignore the jws and xml stuffs as I'm also using cxf and know it currently works. The only change I recently added to this weblogic-application.xml file is the javax.persistence.* line:
<prefer-application-packages>
<package-name>org.apache.*</package-name>
<package-name>javax.persistence.*</package-name>
<package-name>javax.jws.*</package-name>
<package-name>javax.xml.ws.*</package-name>
<package-name>org.xmlsoap.schemas.wsdl.*</package-name>
</prefer-application-packages>
It appears there is some conflict between my provided openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar and the WebLogic provided OpenJPA snapshot (a.k.a. org.apache.openjpa_1.2.0.0_1-1-1-SNAPSHOT.jar) shipped w/ this version of WebLogic 10.3.4.
I'll appreciate very much any suggestion to fix this issue while still having my application uses the latest openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar. Although the case of ClassNotFoundException is really troublesome ... Should it work w/o my openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar?
***** ClassCastException - w/ the open-all-2.0.1.jar packaged in the application ear file and a Class-path specified in the ejb.jar manifest file

Deploying application in domain failed; Deployment Error -- The persistence-context-ref-name [QueryService] in module [C:\NetBeansProjects\JAV111MQ\assign1\build\web] resolves to a persistence unit called [QueryService] which is of type RESOURCE_LOCAL. Only persistence units with transaction type JTA can be used as a container managed entity manager. Please verify your application.
Here is my persistence.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<persistence version="1.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_1_0.xsd">

<property name="toplink.jdbc.driver" value="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"/>
<property name="toplink.jdbc.password" value="password"/>
</properties>
</persistence-unit>
</persistence>
Can someone tell me what is going on which would cause the build to fail?You apparently have configured it as a container managed entity manager. It roughly means that the container is injecting the entity manager in the environment and controlling the transactions itself, rather than that you are controlling the transactions yourself in the code.
Either change it to JTA to get the container to do the work, or if you want to keep it RESOURCE_LOCAL somehow, then stop using container managed injection and control the transactions yourself.
This has not much to do with JDBC however. In the future better use the [EJB forum|http://forums.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=13]. -
Persistence from the container's perspective
I've read up on using [JPA in a desktop application|http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/Desktop/persistenceapi/] , but does anyone have a clue as to how a typical EJB container instantiates an EntityManager? I'm creating a toy EJB container, and the problem I'm running into appears to be a lack of "persistence.xml". Specifically, persistence.xml should live within a library .ear, I should read the values from that file, put them in a Properties instance, and finally call "Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory" in order to create a resource to be injected. However, when I try this, I am getting the error: "javax.persistence.PersistenceException: No Persistence provider for EntityManager named default". I am guessing this is because my container (which has no persistence.xml of its own) does not have the PU entry in a persistence.xml within its own scope. Does anyone out there have some insight as to how this process actually works in the real world? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The container would not have a persistence.xml file of its own.
It's the applications being run by the container that would provide the persistence.xml file inside the META-INF of an ejb-jar file.
The file would point to an implementation of JPA as the persistence provider.
If you are making an EJB container then you should separate that from a persistence implementation.
What you want to look for is how to read user provided persistence.xml files to find out their persistence implementations which should have been provided to your container buy the users themselves. -
Multiple Persistence Units in persistence.xml
Hi,
in my session bean I want to read data from two ORACLE-database tables, which are located in two ORACLE-schemas (same ORACLE-instance). So I have defined two datasources, one for each schema. Then I defined two persistence-units in my persistence.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<persistence version="1.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_1_0.xsd">
<persistence-unit name="DACC/AEMA">
<jta-data-source>AEMA</jta-data-source>
</persistence-unit>
<persistence-unit name="DACC/ALLGEMEIN">
<jta-data-source>ALLGEMEIN</jta-data-source>
</persistence-unit>
</persistence>
In NetWeaver Development Studio this result in the following error:
"2 persistence units are found. Only exactly one persistence unti is supported."
What's the solution here? Of course I could define two session beans. But this would result in two development components (DC) as well, because there is only 1 persistence.xml per DC (is this correct?). I don't think this is a good idea. Any other suggestions?
Kind regards,
ChristophHi Christoph,
From a Java EE server perspective there are no issues with multiple PUs in a persistence.xml. This is a limitation of NWDS, or WTP (Dali), to be precise. So, you could try to ignore this error and deploy on the server.
HTH!

Using EJB with Hibernate on Weblogic Server ADF platform
Hi all,
We use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and WLS 10.3
I tried to use Hibernate on my project according to this link well, EJB with Hibernate On Weblogic
I wanto use Hibernate tool because toplink and eclipselink can not achieve the issue about generating update* ddl on schema, they can just only re-create the tables -not real update.
Firstly i got the related jars from internet: http://www.2hotfile.com/di-LSBU.png
cglib-2.2
antlr-2.7.6
commons-collections-3.1
dom4j-1.6.1
hibernate3
hibernate-validator-4.1.0.Final
javassist-3.9.0.GA
jta-1.1
slf4j-api-1.5.11
slf4j-nop-1.5.11
Then i added to model project as library dependencies: http://www.2hotfile.com/di-GMSZ.png
configured persistence.xml as below:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
<persistence xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd"
version="1.0">

@REM WARNING: This file is created by the Configuration Wizard.
@REM Any changes to this script may be lost when adding extensions to this configuration.
@REM *************************************************************************
@REM This script is used to setup the needed environment to be able to start Weblogic Server in this domain.
@REM
@REM This script initializes the following variables before calling commEnv to set other variables:
@REM
@REM WL_HOME - The BEA home directory of your WebLogic installation.
@REM JAVA_VM - The desired Java VM to use. You can set this environment variable before calling
@REM this script to switch between Sun or BEA or just have the default be set.
@REM JAVA_HOME - Location of the version of Java used to start WebLogic
@REM Server. Depends directly on which JAVA_VM value is set by default or by the environment.
@REM USER_MEM_ARGS - The variable to override the standard memory arguments
@REM passed to java.
@REM PRODUCTION_MODE - The variable that determines whether Weblogic Server is started in production mode.
@REM DOMAIN_PRODUCTION_MODE
@REM - The variable that determines whether the workshop related settings like the debugger,
@REM testconsole or iterativedev should be enabled. ONLY settable using the
@REM command-line parameter named production
@REM NOTE: Specifying the production command-line param will force
@REM the server to start in production mode.
@REM
@REM Other variables used in this script include:
@REM SERVER_NAME - Name of the weblogic server.
@REM JAVA_OPTIONS - Java command-line options for running the server. (These
@REM will be tagged on to the end of the JAVA_VM and
@REM MEM_ARGS)
@REM

JPA 2.0 in Weblogic 10.0 MP1
Hi there,
Is there a way to deploy a JPA 2.0 based application in a Weblogic 10.0 server?
We have an application that uses Spring 3.0.4, Hibernate 3.5.0.Final and Hibernate JPA 2.0.
Our customer is a major telecom operator that uses Weblogic 10.0 MP1 server with several applications already.
We tried the solutions for in http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Development/JPA_2.0/weblogic#DI_1:_Alternative_3:_Application_Level_Shared_Library_-InUse
All not working for us.
Thank you,
IoanHi everyone,
I'm facing the same problem: Every JPA 2.0 implementation I tried to use doesn't work for me on Weblogic 10.0 and 10.3. It doesn't matter which JAP 2.0 vendor I use (I tried Hibernate and EclipseLink). I've used the tutorial user13348764 has mentioned and I tried to use one the the earfiles distributed here. I always get this error (for Hibernate I get this message with org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence):
Caused By: weblogic.deployment.EnvironmentException: Error processing persistence unit example of module enterprise: Error instantiating the Persistence Provider class org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider of the PersistenceUnit example: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider cannot be cast to javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceProvider
