Error in Planning layout since Excel 2007 Service Pack 2

Hi,
since I updated Excel 2007 from Service Pack 1 to 2 I have a problem with the planning layouts in upspm.
When I open a planning folder with an input layout with excel inplace, a second instance of excel is opening without a sheet.
When I close this excel I can work with the layout.
This bug is definite since SP2 in Excel 2007.
Is there a solution for this?
I'm using SAP GUI 7.10 Patch 5

Hello Tobias,
in fact, with SP2 Microsoft has changed when security checks are performed. More details can be found here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=2009802
There is also a SAP note 1425448 (that contains a link to the MSDN-Knowledge-Base). Technically in SAP Desktop Office Integration the SAPGUI is a container for Excel (inplace activation). You will get the same effect when you embed e.g. an Excel file with macros as an object in a word file. It is even worse in the latter case:
- I get two VBA 'stop' pop ups with no information
- Then I get the security warning pop-up (activate or deactivate the macros) -> activated
- Then Excel opens, but deactivated, no document is disypled: Excel main window visible
- Then one get a pop-up below the Excel window that claims that there is no Excel installed (?)
- It is impossible to close Excel, the Excel process has to be deleted via task manager ...
I hope that this MSDN article is not the final word about this issue.
Regards,
Gregor

  • Planning Layout in Excel 2010

    Hello,
When opening up the planning layout, the Excel layout opens a "read only" with Excel 2010. It is working fine with Excel 2003 and 2007.
Could someone please advice if you have come across a similar issue and how you hav resolved the same.
    Regards,
    Subhra Ghosh.

    hello,
in my opinion that´s an MS office security issue. in excel 2010 it´s standard security setting to open read only. you could switch in change mode via the excel-symbol-context menü or you configure the security settings of excel 2010 that excel trust all documents and open in change mode..

  • Compatibility between Exchange 2007 service packs

Hi all, I have 5 servers Exchange:
    - 3 Servers CAS and HUB
    - 2 Servers Mailbox server in Microsoft Failover Cluster (MSCS)
    Domain Controllers are all
    Windows Server 2003 SP2
The versions of Exchange 2007 SP1 servers are all:
    8.1 Build 240.6
I have thought about installing SP3 and RU13 in all 5 servers for Exchange, but I'm going to install SP3 and RU13 on 2 servers CAS / HUB and the following week at the other CAS / HUB server.
Finally, the following week in the two Mailbox Servers.
Is there any problem if I miss 2 servers CAS / HUB with SP3 RU13 and the other CAS / HUB in SP1, this will only be for a few days?
Is there any problem if I leave the servidors Mailbox Servers in SP1 while CAS / HUB are in SP3 RU13, this will only be for a few days?
    regards
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator

    Hi Yupikaiey.
Only thing you should be concerned is if you have CAS-CAS proxy or the Mailbox Cluster part.
Your current plan looks good. Just stay alert for any uncommon issues popping up, which would normally mean due to the difference.
If you upgrade your servers in this order, you may avoid potential service interruptions.
    Details below:
Version Constrains are more of between roles of 2007-2010-2013 and not between same version SPs or RUs.
    Exchange 2013 Server Role Architecture
The Past: Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010
Our goal was to make these server roles autonomous units. Unfortunately, that goal did not materialize in either Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010. The server roles were tightly coupled along four key dimensions:
2.This also necessitated a tight versioning alignment – a down-level Hub Transport or Client Access shouldn’t communicate with a higher version Mailbox server; in some cases this was enforced (e.g., Exchange 2007 Hub Transport servers cannot deliver messages
to Exchange 2010 Mailbox servers), but in other cases they were not (e.g., an Exchange 2010 SP1 Client Access server can render data from an Exchange 2010 SP2 Mailbox server).
The versioning restriction also meant that you could not simply upgrade a single server role to take advantage of new functionality – you had to upgrade all of them.
    The Present: Exchange Server 2013
If I upgrade the Mailbox server with a service pack or cumulative update, then for a given mailbox hosted on that server, all data rendering and content conversions for that mailbox will be local, thus removing version constraints and functionality issues
    that arose in previous releases.
    Exchange 2007 Servicing
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/dd421853(v=exchg.80).aspx
    Deployment Order
Our test infrastructure guarantees that Exchange hotfixes work across multiple server roles. The order in which you apply the update rollup to the servers is not important except if you are deploying CAS-CAS proxying. Because the update rollups are not segmented
for different Exchange server roles or for specific file configurations, apply each update rollup package to all Exchange 2007 servers in your environment.
If you have multiple Active Directory sites, and if you deploy a Client Access server in the proxy sites that do not face the Internet, you must
apply the update rollup to the Internet-facing Client Access servers
and to the non-Internet-facing Client Access servers in the proxy site simultaneously. For other Exchange 2007 configurations, we recommend that you
apply the update rollup package to the Client Access servers before
you apply it to servers that are running other Exchange 2007 server roles, such as the Mailbox server role, the Hub Transport server role, and the Edge Transport server role.
    Note:
Applying service packs and update rollups to clustered Mailbox servers requires specific planning and application steps. For more information about how to apply service packs to Exchange 2007 clustered Mailbox servers, see
Upgrading Clustered Mailbox Servers to Exchange 2007 SP1 or later. For more information about how to apply update rollups to Exchange 2007 clustered Mailbox servers, see
Applying Exchange 2007 Update Rollups to Clustered Mailbox Servers.
For Patching and compatibility between versions:
Determine the service pack level of Exchange.
Update rollups are service pack dependent. For example, an Update Rollup 5 package is available for Exchange 2007 and for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1. To determine the service pack level of Exchange, examine the
ExchangeVersion property. For more information about how to view the
ExchangeVersion property and about the build number that is associated with each Exchange version, see
Exchange Server 2007: Platforms, Editions, and Versions.

Since installing XP Service Pack 3, iTunes dose not recognise my iPod. Windows does but Itunes doesn't. The Windows dialogue box syas "iPodService Module has encountered a problem and needs to close"
Have a look in your Device manager. (Right-click "My Computer", select "Manage" and click "Device Manager".)
Is Device Manager (in the right hand pane of the Window) completely blank?
If so, see the following Microsoft document for troubleshooting advice:

  • Could you help me regarding the planning layout in excel please ???

    Dear All,
Could you kindly help me to solve my case please .. ? :).
I tried to change the template of excel planning layout using this program: UPP_MASTER_CHECKIN.
I tried to modify the template by inserting some logo picture there.
I put the picture in the left-top corner,
but after i run the program, the logo picture position cover/above the planning data.
    My questions is:
    1. Could we setup in what row we're going to start the planning data ?? So it the planning data will not be covered by Logo ..
    e.g.
    Before:
Planning data is written in row 1 and column 1.
Could i modify the planning data to be written in row 6 and column 1.
    Regards,
    Niel..

    Hi Neil,
you must insert row between logo and data region. Furthermore you must set image properties to not change its dimension.
    Best Regards

  • Is there a way to sync Pre-MS Exchange Server 2007 (Service Pack 1) Calendar?

    Hello all,
I think my company must be using Pre-Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 with Service Pack 1 for our exchange server, because
I can only set up company Exchange account on MS Entourage, not the new Outlook
I can only set up the same exchange account only on iPad and iPhone (able to view in Mail, Calendar, Contacts & Reminders)
    But
I am unable to use Lion's Mail, iCal and Address Book to see my Exchange account
For the moment, I am not really concern about mail and addresses,
but can I see my Exchange calendar on my desktop iCal? How do I set it up?
I guess the most obvious and straight forward way, for now, is to view on my iPad :-)  But it is really funny that the iDevices are backward compatible but yet Lion OS cannot...
    Thanks and cheers.

    Hi,
Yes it will work, it says enterprise because it works there as well.

  • MOSS 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3) Installation.

    Hello All,
We are planning to install MOSS 2007 SP3 on the Production environment. Prior to that, the plan is to install this on Dev and UAT environment first and then proceed to Production environment.
Production MOSS 2007 SP2 environment has the following Farm Topology.
2 WFE's , 1 APP server and 2 DB servers. Following are my questions.
    1) What would be the best approach to install SP3? Is it to install SP3 across all WFE's and APP servers one shot or install it on 1 WFE first , validate it and then based on the result..proceeding forward to install on the other WFE and APP server?
    2) Do we have any articles or guidelines provided by Microsoft on how to install MOSS 2007 SP3?
    3) What should be the check list  for this?
    4) What aspects need to be considered for Validation purpose? Do we need to validate MOSS2007 OOTB features or only customizations?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Axel:
I was finally able to resolve the issue by repeating the steps twice that were outlined in your first response that contained the link. Who knows what happened the first time. Many thanks for your assistance. All is well n PC land, now back to the Mac side.

  • Error 1101 still appers with XP Home Service Pack 3 - What Now?

    Hi,
I have received an error message 1101 (corrupt windows installer service) after trying to update Java.
My system is Windows XP Home with (recently updated Service Pack 3).
This error messgae also appeared with service pack 2 , so I don't think the recent upgrade to service pack 3 is any cause.
    I have tried Java's instructions to ..........
    Go to Start -> Run.
    Type msiexec.exe /unregister
    Click OK
    Go to Start -> Run.
    Type msiexec.exe /regserver
    Click OK
    Run the Java installation again.
This did not work, so tried their next suggestion to...........
If the above fails to address the issue, download and install the latest Windows Installer Service from Microsoft for your respective operating system.
For related information visit: Microsoft Windows Installer
This did not work either as Microsoft download advised as I have Service Pack 3 I do not need the download.
So I still have this error 1101 message when update Java and presume it has something to do with this Windows Installer Service. (actually wondering if this why my pages are taking longer than normal to load also).
I could restore back to before servic pack installation and then try the microsoft download but wondering if there are any other suggestions first.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

I have exactly the same problem - XP Service pack 3 and can't successfully install Java update. I also have followed all of the advice mentioned with "msiexec.exe /unregister" and "msiexec.exe /regserver" and then renamed the files and tried again, and then tried it in safe boot mode, then tried to update the Windows service, etc. but to no avail. I still keep getting:
"Error 1101.Error reading from file:http://javad-esd.sun.con/update/1.6.0/sp-1.6.0_07/sp1033.MST. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."
Has anyone with XP service pack 3 had any joy? Mike_Shellshear

  • Outlook web login screen not displaying correctly on Exchange 2007 service pack install

    Hello everyone,
I believe our exchange server installed a service pack 3 update and after rebooting the server, we noticed that the Outlook web access login screen is not displaying correctly.  The page looks white with some black X's (I think that's where the
pictures/background images used to be).  We tried to restart the ISS service with no luck.  I would appreciate any help you guys can provide.

    Hi,
I have seen this issue in another similar thread, that issue was solved by re-creating the OWA virtual directory.
Please try the following steps to solve this issue.
Open EMC, navigate to Server Configuration -> Client Access, under Outlook Web App tab, double-click owa (default web site) properties.
Then check InternalURL, ExternalURL, Forms-Based Authentication settings ect
Open EMS, use Get-OwaVirtualDirectory get the list of virtual directories and identify the directory which is giving the problem.
    Remove it with this command
    Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory “owa (Default Web Site)”
Now create it again with the following command
New-OwaVirtualDirectory -OwaVersion “Exchange2007″ -Name “owa (Default Web Site)”
Then configure the “owa” virtual directory settings like InternalURL, ExternalURL, Forms-Based Authentications etc… & check the OWA by logging with some test users.
    Best Regards.

  • Unknowned Error when Refreshing Objects in Excel 2007

Business Objects Server Version: Business Objects XI 3.1
    MS Office: 2007
    Live Office: 12.1.4.1068
    Crystal Reports: 2008
Issue: When attempting to refresh the objects for either Crystal Reports or a WebI Document, I receive an "Unknowned Error" message.
Symptoms: I can do a refresh successfully with a Universe query, but not a Crystal or Web Intelligence Report.
    Steps to recreate:
    1) Open Excel
    2) On the Live Office tab, click Crystal Reports
    3) On the BO Server select the Crystal Report
    4) On the Choose Data page, select the chart, and NEXT.
    5) Choose Finish.
The Vacations chart is successfully imported and rendered into the spreadsheet.
    6) Then, on the Live Office tab, select Refresh All Objects.
    The Unknowned Error is displayed.
I reinstalled the BO Client and Live Office multiple times to no avail.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Check the Application Server logs for any errors. Live office will use the QaaWS 'war' file deployed in the Application Server to refresh the WEBI reports. It is possible that a network component is not allowing the refresh request to be sent succesfully to web services.
Try to simplify the connectivity hops between the Live Office machine and the BOBJ Server - if it is a Windows Dev machine - you could install Live Office on the BOBJ server for a test and then un-install it once test is completed. If it fails to work even on the Windows BOBJ Server, their is a problem with the deployment - else a problem with the DNS or another network component.

  • Insufficient memory error when loading a large Excel 2007 file

My Tx shows approximately 110 M free memory.  I have the Documents To Go version 11 applications, as well as the 1.9 M spreadsheet on a 2Gb SD card.  when I try to load the file, I get an insufficient memory error, and the device does a soft reset when I touch OK.  I haven't tried moving the file to the device memory.  Would that help?  Is there anything else I can do to get the file to load?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated
    Post relates to: Palm TX

It means not enough dynamic memory, or the "RAM" portion of the memory. You have 110 MB of free program memory, which is where everything is stored, and is largely unrelated.
You could try buying UDMH, (palmpowerups.com) an app that expands the dynamic memory area.
A soft reset before opening the file may help too.

  • Error with DQS after Installing SQL Server Service Pack 2

When I open the DQS client, I get this error message:
    Message Id: VerificationFrameworkVersionNotCompatible
A new version of .NET or Data Quality Services was installed on this machine. In order to continue to work with DQS please run 'DqsInstaller.exe -upgrade'.
However, when I run DQSInstaller.exe, I get this message:
DQS Installer has detected a previous DQS installation under this SQL server instance.  Running DQS installer will remove the previous installation, together with all the knowledge stored in it.
Will I lose all my knowledge bases?  Is there an upgrade path?

    Hi Adolfo Socorro,
According to your description, when you install SQL Server 2012 Service Pack2, the error of
Data Quality Services (DQS) will occur. The cause is that Product Updates will not update the schema of the DQS catalogs, any related MDS catalogs, and the SQL CLR assemblies kept the DQS catalogs. Therefore, extra steps may be required
if the DQS catalog schema needs to be upgraded, or the DQS CLR assemblies have been upgraded by the product update.
If you have previously run the DQSInstaller.exe to build the DQS_MAIN, DQS_PROJECTS, and DQS_Staging_Data catalogs in one or more of the updated instances, you
may need to continue to do the necessary upgrade steps to upgrade the database schemas, such as launch CMD as Administrator
    cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.InstanceName\MSSQL\Binn" DQSInstaller.exe –upgrade
There is an article about upgrading DQS, you can review the following article.
