Error in pointing Identity Manager Repository to Datasource in Websphere
I'd installed SJIM 7 in Websphere 6.0.2 and I'm trying to configure the datasource. I tested the connection successfully via Admin Console. The JNDI name is defined as jdbc/DataSource. But when I try to point the respository to new location by running the ln script (shown as below), I run into error as follow.
I wonder if anyone have a resolution for this.
[*** AIX Steps ***:]
cd /home/apps/idm/idm_war_V1.ear/idm.war/bin
./lh -Djava.ext.dirs=$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext:$WAS_HOME/lib setRepo -Uwaveset -Pwaveset123 -toracle -icom.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory -fjdbc/SJIMDataSource
[*** Error ***]
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Context: pidmap01Cell01/nodes/pidmap01Node01/servers/nodeagent, name: jdbc/SJIMDataSource: First component in name jdbc/SJIMDataSource not found. [Root exception is org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound: IDL:omg.org/CosNaming/NamingContext/NotFound:1.0]
Failed to load JDBC DataSource 'jdbc/SJIMDataSource':
==> javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Context: pidmap01Cell01/nodes/pidmap01Node01/servers/nodeagent, name: jdbc/SJIMDataSource: First component in name jdbc/SJIMDataSource not found.
Had worked with SUN engineer who suggested the following steps. It worked.
1. Please run the command as indicated below to create
ServerRepository.xml into tmp folder
./lh -Djava.ext.dirs=$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext:$WAS_HOME/lib setRepo -n
-tOracle
-icom.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory
-fjdbc/SJIMDataSource -uiiop://localhost:9811
-U"Websphere Admin console USERID" -P"Websphere Admin console PASSWORD"
-o"/tmp/ServerRepository.xml"
Remark
======
-n option will bypass any checking and ignore any error message.
-o option is used to generate the ServerRepository.xml in a specific folder.
-Assuming jdbc/SJIMDataSource is a valid jndi name and is resolveable
within the app server container
2. Stop the websphere app server where IDM is deployed.
3. Copy /tmp/ServerRepository.xml into WSHOME
(/home/apps/idm/idm_war_V1.ear/idm.war/WEB-INF)
4. Restart app server
5. Bring up the Idm Admin Console and try to login as Configurator
(default admin user)
6. Check app server log and command line console to check any error.
Also the lh command will not test connection to
the repository when configuring the ServerRepository.xml file. It is
just generating the ServerRepository.xml which contains the data needed to connect to the backend repository. That's why you are seeing "No check means no guarantee...caveat emptor.".
If the App Server start up properly and user is able to access the Admin
UI after copying the generated "ServerRepository.xml" to the WEB-INF
folder, then it does prove that IDM is working fine.

The dbconsole cannot run with this mismatch.
If US/Pacific is the correct timezone, set your timezone environment variable to US/Pacific and repeat the 'emctl start dbconsole' operation.
If US/Pacific is not the correct timezone, make sure that the timezone in your environment is correct, and then run the following command in your local Oracle Home: 'emctl resetTZ agent'
The output of this command will include detailed instructions to follow, to correct the mismatch.

Environment:
Windows 2008 x64 server for database host, 11.2.0.1.0 64bit db
Target ident manager server: windows 2003 32bit (I heard 32bit installs are easier)
Running the RCU utility from a 2008 or a 2003 host makes no difference, fails the same way.
From the documents here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/install.1111/e10033/configone.htm
Section 4.2.2 indicates a few parameters in the db must be set, so here are the current values for my db:

Variable Size 1476396712 bytes
Database Buffers 620756992 bytes

I selected utf-8 during the db install as well.
I selected automated memory management, so alot of the memory values above were set to 0. I set the just to be sure..
I'm at a loss for what to check next.. Last time I tried installing this product only way i could get rcu to work was from a linux host; but then the install would fail.
The db is running in a virtual box vm, i think I gave it 5 gigs of memory. Could that be part of the problem? I'm looking for any directions or ideas, I havnt even gotten to installing the product yet; seems like a daunting task.
Thanks!!you can try this
copy msvcr71.dll from (rcu-install-dir)\jdk\bin to: and C:\Windows\SysWOW64
and, If you are using ‘Oracle Database XE’ you must set the RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS environment variable to TRUE, before the installation
To do so: Right click on ‘My Computer’->Advanced Tab->Click on ‘Environment Variables’->Under ‘System Variables’ click ‘New’->
Name: RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS, Value: TRUE -

Configuring Identity Management Components - Error in starting opmn server
Hello,
I have a VM, which is being administered by VMware Lab Manager. The VM is running RHEL 5.1, and has an Oracle 11g database installed.
I am in the process of trying to install and configure Oracle Internet Directory 11g. To do this, I ran the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Oracle Identity Management Installer. I selected the "Install Software - Do Not Configure" installation type, and chose to "Configure without a Domain" in order to avoid having to install and administer a WebLogic domain. I set "/data1/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1" as the Oracle Middleware Home, and "Oracle_IDM1" as the Oracle Home Directory. (To simplify things below, let ORACLE_IDM_HOME refer to the /data1/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1/Oracle_IDM1" directory... understand that no environment variable exists with this name though.) The installation routine ran successfully.
But, I ran into a problem while trying to configure the Oracle Identity Management 11g components. I ran the Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 1 Configuration Wizard (ORACLE_IDM_HOME/bin/config.sh). Here are some of the key configuration values that I entered:
- Oracle Instance Location: /data1/u01/config/oracle/as_admin/asinst_1
- Oracle Instance Name: asinst_1
- Select Domain: Configure without a Domain
- Configure Components: Oracle Internet Directory
- Configure Ports: Auto Port Configuration
- Specify Schema Database: Create Schema
After entering my configuration values and hitting the Configure button, the configuration process started running. Shortly thereafter, under Bootstrap Domain Configuration, "Failed" appeared next to the "Create ASInstance" line, with the following error listed:
{code}
Error creating ASInstance asinst_1
Cause: An internal operation has failed: Error in starting opmn server
Operation aborted because of a system call failure or internal error
{code}
In case it would be helpful, here is the output from the error log for the Oracle Identity Management 11g Configuration Wizard:
{code}
oracle.as.provisioning.util.ConfigException:
Error creating ASInstance asinst_1.
Cause:
An internal operation has failed: Error in starting opmn server
Operation aborted because of a system call failure or internal error
Action:
See logs for more details.

To get more information, I tried to manually start the opmn server (I set ORACLE_INSTANCE to "/data1/u01/config/oracle/as_admin/asinst_1" and then ran "./opmnctl start" from the ORACLE_IDM_HOME/opmn/bin directory). As expected, the server failed to start. But, I checked the opmn.out file (in the ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/OPMN/opmn directory), and found the following error repeated several times:
{code}
OPMN worker process exited with status 8b. Restarting.
OPMN worker process exited with status 8b. Restarting.
OPMN worker process terminated with signal 11 7 times in 10 seconds -- aborting!
{code}
Does anyone know what this error means? I am at a loss as to what to do at this point, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!h1. UPDATE:
I just needed internet access to download the sysstat and compat-db packages, once installed I disconnected from the internet and re-run the installation, once again, it went fine without problems and opmn and OID are up and running. Also, I enabled the firewall which was disabled during the first installation.
Here is the list of packages needed as pre-requisites:
gcc-4.1.0-28.4, gcc-c++-4.1.0-28-4, setarch-1.6-1, libstdc++-4.1.0, libstdc++-devel-4.1.0, compat-libstdc++-2.96, control-center-2.8.0, glibc-common-2.3.4-2.9, binutils-2.16.91, make-3.80 on top of sysstat-5.0.5-1 and compat-db-4.1.25-9.
There are 3 configuration files for opmn: instance.properties, opmn.xml and ports.prop..... and for OID: component-logs.xml
h2. instance.properties:

RahatAll,
I could resolve the issue by applying the note Note 869852 - Central Note For UME Web Dynpro UIs , the part at page 4/11 :
5)trouble shooting
The second symptom matches our problem and was resolved using the solution b.
Please note if you dont define an account for the Run_as identity it will pickup any user in the Administrator group
I restarted the J2ee after the change.

500 Internal Server Error in Identity Management in Portal
Hi all,
We have just upgraded our portal server to SP13 (2004s).
Post upgrade, I am getting an error in Identity Management.
When I search for a user, and try viewing his/her details, I get the following error.
500 Internal Server Error
Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
The funny thing is, it works fine for some users and throws an error for some others.
Can anyone suggest what could be done to resolve this?
Regards,
PrekshaHi,
the error may due to duplicate entries of users.
go to logfile and check the users.

Can anyone please help me to solve this issue.
-SriHi,
The pre-req is that it should be minimum 2GB RAM.
Also please try starting the server manually and stop the server and then Retry in the install wizard.

Error while installing OFM 11g - Oracle Identity management suite 11g
Hi,
I am getting following error while installing Oracle Identity management suite 11g (Oracle Internet Directory & Oracle Virtual Directory) on Red Hat Linux 5.0.
"Error in invoking target 'client_sharedlib' of makefile '/apps/idm/Oracle/OracleHome/Oracle_Home/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk"
the same error is repeating for others also i.e. 'all', 'install" etc.
Can you advice me how to overcome this?
Regards
ChintaHi Chinta,
Pl. check for all gcc and glibc OS packages compatibility with your your OS. This will solve your problem.
Also check that you are not installing a 32 bit IM software on a 64 bit machine or viceversa.

Error while installing oracle identity manager
Im using windows installer. I get error below when installing Oracle Identity Manager, any idea to solve this?
Following Error occured during schema creation connected
ERROR loading database script C:\oracle identity manager\OIM9.0.1.1\installServer\Xellerate/db/oracle/xell.sql!
Please contact your DBA! ORA-06550: line 1,
column 7: PLS-00905: object KOD.PIN_OBJ is invalid ORA-06550: line 1,
column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored [12/13/06 11:36 AM]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi,
I got the same error:
Following Error occurred during schema creation connectedError loading database scriptD:\appl\OIM_902_RC\OIM_902_RC\installServer\Xellerate/db/oracle/xell.sqlPlease contact your DBA!ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00905: object VIM_ADMIN.PIN_OBJ is invalid ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored [12/8/06 5:57 PM]
But I could fix it by dropping the schema and recreate it by only executing the prepare_xl_db.sh script as dba user on database server:
1. Copy the scripts prepare_xl_db.sh and xell_db_prepare.sql from the distribution CD/Directory to a directory on the machine hosting the database where there is (as the account user performing this task) write permission.
2. Run the prepare_xl_db.sh script by entering the following command:
./prepare_xl_db.sh
3. Provide information appropriate for the database and host machine when the script prompts for the following items:
• The location of the Oracle home (ORACLE_HOME)
• The name of the database (ORACLE_SID)
• The name of the Oracle Identity Manager database user to be created
• The password for the Oracle Identity Manager database user
• The name of the tablespace to be created for storing Oracle Identity Manager data
• The directory in which to store the data file for the Oracle Identity Manager tablespace
• The name of the data file ( no need to append the .dbf extension)
• The name of the temporary tablespace
4. Check the prepare_xell_db.lst log file located in the directory where the xell_db_prepare script was run from to see execution status and additional information. -

As I can solve this problem, not to reinstall everything again
thanksNot sure if I understand your issue correctly. Your deployment failed during the installation and you have started the servers and trying to login?
When installing OIM in a clustered WLS domain, the docs specify various cluster configurations needed to be completed in the WLS Admin Console before running the OIM installer. These steps DO NOT include starting up of the first managed server. In fact, if you start up the managed server then you may very well run into deployment issues after the OIM application is built. Instead, when installing OIM, the installer detects that not all nodes are on-line and so will queue the deployment for later. Deployment then takes place in later steps when you are instructed to restart the app server and start managed nodes.
Thus was your managed server running when you were doing the installation? That has caused the issue. I would suggest to dump this domain (save the .xldatabasekey) if you don't wanna to dump the database part and start the installation again BUT don't start the managed server while doing the installation.
HTH,
BB
