I have been trying to submit a question for days. First it just plain disappeared. Now I'm getting an error message with no explanation. Has microsoft taken over this site?

If I try to delete the Authoritation it says that it is nor posible and recommneds me to try later, but I never get it.

Administration Panel Error and a Question about Static IPs

Since there appears to be no other place to report errors within the latest generation of Linksys router firmwares, I thought the forums may be the best place.
If you use remote access to your router's Administration management console, upon saving any changes you are sent to the
"Your settings have been successfully saved." page. Upon clicking cancel it successfully attempts to route to the appropriate hostname but does not consider the port being used; therefore, unless you have your management console hosted on port 80 it does not bring you back to the right place.
This is mostly an annoyance.
My question is I'm wondering if it's possible to assign static IP addresses from the router.
On my older (much older) Linksys routers (before Cisco bought them out) you could easily assign static IPs.
I cannot seem to find a way to do with newer generations. All suggestions recommend assigning static IPs from the
network devices themselves, however that poses problems on modern mobile devices which don't let you do that,
and for laptops that are brought into a lot of different networks it becomes an annoyance to change those settings manually.

You want to assign a specific ip address to your computers/network devices thru the router? You can use the DHCP reservation feature of this router.
"A DHCP Reservation is a permanent IP address assignment. It is a specific IP address within a DHCP scope that is permanently reserved for leased use to a specific DHCP client."

Help about ESS/MSS - Deploy error and landscape question

I read a lot of post about this topic, but I continue something confuse about them.
I want to configure ESS and MSS.
My landscape is:
- J2EE 7.0 with Portal 7.0 (2004s) in a server A.
- ECC 5.0 ( with HR component SP05) in a server B.
Server B, has only stack Abap.
Server A is the latest version of Netweaver today. (stack j2ee and stack abap, BI, XI, Portal, etc)
I download and deploy in server A (J2EE 7.0), this components:
- BP ESS for erp2004
- BP MSS for erp2004
When I deploy the ESS BP, the deployment break raising this kind of error with the most of components, for example:

Obviously, for this reason the most of iviews raise errors. A few of these works ok.
I assign role, and others configuration steps, this part I thinks that is OK
I configured the Jco, the role in Portal, the profile in ERP for ESS, etc.
My principal question is:
Can I use Portal 7.0 against ECC 5.0 in order tu use ESS/MSS based on webdynpro, without stack j2ee in ECC server (B) ?
Is necesary install J2ee stack in my server B ? or not?
Where I need to deploy the XSS 500 components ? in the J2EE 7.0 ?
Why when I deploy have this problem and the most of components cant deploy it?
For my landscape, which is the recommended setup ?

Solman 7.0 : Resolution for error 'Answer the question for currnt SAP comp.

We are in the process of setting up Service Desk for Solman 7.0 (SP 19) for which we have created a custom user status profile ZSLFN001 and attached to SLFN transaction.
Now we are able to create a new message with the customized dropdown for user status (fast entry screen), but when a message processor is assigned to the notification an error is generated with the following details.
Message type : Error (Red traffic light)
Ref object : Header Data
Message Text: "Answer the question for the current sap component.".
I feel this has something to do with the action "Answer to app-specific questions" but am not sure what i am missing here.

Creating a SDK (.swc) in Adobe Flash CS5 - Error + Best Practices Questions

Hello all,
I'm currently developing a client library for a server-based API which is developed by my company.
The goal is for the .swc to be usable in both Flash and Flash Builder (any Actionscript environment, really). So far I've just been creating it in Flash CS5 and have yet to test it in Flash Builder. It contains a single piece of UI (a login window) but is intended to expose a number of actionscript classes as API interface points to the developer. The login window is a single Movie Clip placed onto the stage. I have been testing by simply running the Flash project for the SDK and it works well.
However, I run into problems when I attempt to use the SWC in other projects (I have the Flash project for the SDK set to create a SWC as well as a SWF)...
I link the SWC to the other project using the flash compiler settings
com.mycompany.SDK is a class required for initialization (singleton) and com.mycompany.LoginWindow is the UI window for logging in
The developer needs to call SDK.Initialize(), which seems to work fine
When the following code is added I get the below error: addChild(new LoginWindow())
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: InstanceInfo.
I take it that the error is a result of an undefined class - but I cannot figure out where InstanceInfo (it is not a class of mine) is being used or how to fix this...

TopLink error messages as question marks

I'm using JDev10g (10.1.2). I crated a TopLink project. When I run my project and attempt to execute a ReadAllQuery against one my persistent classes, I get the following error:

I don't know what's wrong. Erros in SQLPlus or Toad appear correctly. I set my locale to English (United States) and all the NLS_LANG in the registry to AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256 and yet the problem persists.
I took the code as a war file and deployed it on Tomcat and the error message appears correctly as follows:

Unplug the USB, then uninstall the software by going to Start > Programs > HP > HP Officejet 4500 and select Uninstall.
Once your are done reboot your PC, then download and install the software below:

Note: be sure to keep the USB unplugged till the installation prompts to connect it.
The software should resolve the issue and display any dialog as expected.

Error AC531 - Design question

Hello experts,
A US company with fiscal year running from Oct-Sept wants to roll out the fixed asset template to a Asian country e.g. China having fiscal year Jan-Dec. Since US is the parent company the depreciation area 01 has US GAAP valuation in China LC. There is another depreciation area with group currency for US GAAP. And finally I have one depreciation area say 30 for China GAAP in China Local currency.
When I try to assign a different fiscal variant in the depreciation areas it gives error AC 531 '
Fiscal year variants in co.code have inconsistent start date
' which is what I expected.
But how do I design a solution in this case. Are there any specific directions? I am sure this is not the first time something like this has come up. Thanks for your inputs.

I know this solution given in sap note 1175751. That is a consulting service. Plus all it does is replicate data in another company code. So, I think this is not possible in standard SAP.

"Error Images" Collection question

Hi all,
I just noticed that this collection contains one of my images (DNG). However, I can't find a reason. File is not missing from hard drive, and it does not look corrupted or having missing metadata.
Is there way to find why Lightroom placed a picture into 'Error Images" collection?

I have seen that happen with a couple of files and there is only one reason that I have found so far; if the file is write-protected, and you try to write updated metadata, the file is added to error collection. (but you are also warned that "Writing XMP Metadata did not complete successfully" with choices to Ignore and Show in Library.)
But the "Error Images" collection is dynamic: if you start with, let us say 4 images in the collection, and you purposely write-protect, modify and attempt to write metadata to a file not in your current "Error Collection", your "Error Collection" only shows the most recent file.
The only other reason, and this is a guess, is that Lightroom for some reason, failed do some operation on a selection of files. I do not have time to try this but if would be good to know the underlying criteria that define "Error Images".
But in your case you say, that the file

Then there must be other reasons, and it would be good to hear if any other users can enlighten us.

[Mac] Error Code 6 Question

10 days ago my hard drive on my Mac Pro crashed and was duly replaced and am in the process of uploading all my backup; when it came to loading CS5 an error message code 6 came up-what does it mean.

You are only allowed 2 active installations. Since the one on the crashed drive is still considered active if this is a problem you will have to contact customer service for a reset.
A standard backup will not work to install PS. You need to do this from disks or download.

Error while posing in J2IUN

Hi Friends,
I am getting error whicle posting monthly utilization in tcode J2IUN.
After putting all the values and leting all remaining amounts to be 0,
when SAVE button activates, then on pressing it follwing error comes.
Error : This function is not possible
Kindly suggest me way to save it.
I am not also not able to debug it as the error is coming at screen level only.

Errors upon saving question files

Hi-
I am hoping that someone can help me here. This is the second time that this issue has hit me and my IT department is not able to resolve the issue.
This is the second time that this has happened when I got to save the question file that I am currently working on. I receive a message stating that I do not have permission to safe to that location or that the file may be locked by another user.
I am an administrator on my laptop and I have tried saving it to my desktop and my personal drives as well as the public drives on our network.
Has any one else ever run into this? Is there a setting on my machine? This only happens when I am using Captivate and specifically when I am creating/updating questions.
I have tried file save as and saving it under a different name; get the same message. I have tried to copy and past the questions into a new file and they are lost. The frustration level rising when you have lost 1.5 hours of work or so.
I have attached a screen shot of the actual message that I have received.
If anyone has ANY suggestions or knows what I can do to try and fix this, I am all ears!

This problem happens fairly frequently. It will also occur if you try and delete a project you recently opened and closed. Seems the file locks have very strong hooks that do not release easily. If you keep trying to save (or delete for that matter) it will eventually go through.
One additional note on quiz questions - I have noticed that an overly large or wordy question/answers can corrupt the file during the publish routine. The project will open, save and preview, but will not publish correctly.

Video error - seeing white question mark when post to my webpage.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you can help me out.
I recently updated my software and now I'm using iWeb 2.0.4. I created a video using Final Cut Pro and rendered out a .m4v version which I've done several times in the past without a problem. The video of course plays fine in iWeb, I click Publish To Folder (since its not going to a .mac account), then upload the site via FTP. Once on the site, I get a white question mark.
So what I'm wondering is this...could it be the update thats causing the problem OR could it possibly be the server I'm using? This server I've never used before so I don't know how it handles video. Maybe it can't play QT or something...I don't know? I've done this exact same thing several times before and don't know why I'm having problems now. Its only a 3 min. video. I posted ones a lot bigger without a problem but those we put on another server.
If someone could offer me a suggestion I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you tried using the Publish All to MobileMe menu option? Also you can publish to a folder on the desktop and check to see if the movie file is getting included with the other files.
When you're viewing your site with Safari use the Window->Activity menu option. There you can view all the files that are loaded when your page loads and see the size and if it's there at all.

You can't connect a USB memory stick to your iPad and backup the iPad to it. You can backup to your computer's iTunes and/or to iCloud

ITunes Error and another question

So one day I was listening to my 30GB Video Ipod and it froze. I went about restarting it with the hold button, and the rest of the stuff. However, this time it started it was a bit different, it erased all of the songs on my Ipod. Or so I thought. Now when I connect it to iTunes it says that over half of my ipod is filled with "Other" but there are no songs, videos, anything listed. What's the reason for this?
Also, I tried connecting to itunes store and it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. You do not have permission to access the requested resource." I'm using firefox and I'm not sure why it's not letting me connect.

Mmm, just been back into my iPod screen and my manual setting was no longer checked! Not changed by me so the install must have overridden the settings I had on the iPod. And guess what, not responding for about the 20th time in the past hour. I have new music to put on my iPod and new videos, I want to be able to do this and I just wish I had not spotted there was an iTunes update as I would not be having these problems. I wonder how much time all the people posting here have wasted since iTunes 7 was released? I initially lost everything on my Nano when I first installed 7 but the 60 GB video was fine. I have passed that to a friend and purchased the 80 GB and with the first release of 7 that was fine (other than not being able to add the playlists mentioned above), but now with this new update I am stuck with an iPod with only a fraction of the music I want on it - that's why I spent money on buying an 80 Gb version.
