  • Vendor master data Postal code

    Hi,
I am trying to create a new vendor in country Japan (JP).
Postal code settings : Length 7 Rule 2
But when I am creating a Vendor with postal code of length 7, system is automatically adding a hyphen '-' in between and throwing an error message "Postal code XXX-XXXX exceeds 7 characters. Message no. AM656".
I am not sure why is this happening so.

OSS note 1381564 - Postal codes
explains that the  postal code for Japan is Postal code format for Japan is 'NNN-NNNN'.
and you have to adjust your settings in OY07
to a length of 8 for postal code
and the checking rule should be set to 9.

  • ECC configuration (eg. Postal code Length..) to SRM - Vendor replication

    Hello experts,
    I had a small doubt.
While going thro Vendor replication errors in SLG1, I see that many errors like postal code length, geocodes not mainatained etc are repeating..
We have tried syncing the two with know tables/config many times, but something new pops up each time.
My question here is that, do we have any report/config that needs to be scheduled/done to bring in the supporting config entries from ECC to SRM.
Any help/lead would be of great help.
    Thank you.

    Hi Aarvi,
There is a table comparision method which you can sync up from your dev system, create a transport and move through your production systems.
    Thank You,

    Hi,
Check the settings for the country you are maintaining the following path -
    SPRO>>SAP NetWeaver>>General Settings>>Set Countries>>Set Country-Specific Checks.
In this check for the country what settings have been maintained for postal code. Also do a F1 to see the help on the checking rule field.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards,

This error we are getting in basic information in first screen during shopping cart creation.
Note-Recently we have upgraded the system from 4.6c to ECC6.0.we are getting the error after upgrade.

    Hi
As suggested earlier, Please ensure that user's Postal code starts with the correct format as per the country. Refer OY07 Transaction for more details.
Select for country Canada (CA), go in the details.
There is a tab there for Checks.
Either you can make the changes to country specific-checks changed in SRM /  ECC systems.
    1) Options to make Postal code mandatory or optional entry
    2) Postal code mandatory or optional entry
    3) Length of Postal code
check Rule (based on country settings)
Try Making changes there and then you can avoid this error message.
    Do let me know.

  • Vendor master error - Postal code ??

    Hi experts
I have tried to creat import vendor , not able to create .
Its throwing error like . "In Postal code a space must replace 5
    Message no. AM207"
Can anybody tel me how to rectify this , this vendor is for netherlands.??
Some body Tel me what mught be the problem??
    Thanks

the checking rule is defined by SAP, following the country specific rules for their address and postal code layout.
It is mainly used to check the entries made at vendor master, customer master, delivery address, plant adress etc. maintenance.
But interfaces to external systems like VERTEX (just an example, not valid for NL, but other countries like USA have as well specific checking rules) rely on accurate entered postal codes.
If you get business letters from a customer or vendor from NL, then they have usually printed the postal code in the right fashion, you just need to type it like it shown to avoid an error coming from the checking rule.

  • "Postal code does not exist" - bypass error message in CREMAS

    Hi.
I am on a client implementing ALE between HR+Travel and FI/CO.
Vendors are created in HR and send to FI/CO with the IDoc CREMAS.
They don't want to validate the Postal Codes and Cities in the Vendors' Master Data.
But the IDoc ends with the status 51 and the message:
R5(510): "Postal code &1 in country &2 does not exist".
Do you know a way to bypass the validation in this Inbound Idoc in FI/CO?
Is it possible to customize this message to be a warning instead of an error in the IDoc, like it is on the manual entry screen?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi there
I did some checks on this error and in fact found some support issues fixed in BC-SRV-ADR component (but for transaction XK01 directly) however for tcode PRAA there are some additional BADi's and user exits you can check in note 570023 - User exits for the generation of vendors with RPRAPA00, If the address editing in the vendor master record does not suit
your requirements, it can also be changed. For this purpose you have the user exit routine 'set_address_by_user'.
However specifically in XK01, this was alleviated by removing the flag CITY FILE ACTIVE for the relevant country.
If CITY FILE ACTIVE is disabled, it will disable regional structure checks, similarly POSTAL CODE CHECK will disable postal code checks. (See the F1 help)

  • Customer no moving into GTS due to Postal code error.

    Hi
I need your help. While pushing customer form R/3 in to GTS it's showing ZERO partner process. Then I checked in GTS in the BP logs it showed me that postal code has to contain 7 digits.
But in R/3 customer master record it's taking only 6 digits it has set up accordingly. So it's not accepting 7 digits. So what could be the setting so that I can look into it ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Best Regards
    Sits

    Hello Sits,
    check in GTS customizing
IMG --> SAP NetWeaver --> General Settings --> Set Countries --> Set Country-Specific Checks.
In here are country specific checks. One of them is also length of postal code.
Check whether for the country of your customer is 7 digit required for the postal code. Then change it to 6.
    Best regards,
    Gabriel.
PS: To be sure your countries in GTS are aligned with the Feeder use simple "adjustment" in the Utilities to compare/change via RFC to ERP..

  • Using IMB Postal Code with LiveCycle Designer ES

I am trying to add an IMB postal code field to my form that auto-populates based on the 5 or 9 digit zip
the user enters.  I found the IMB filed and dragged it to the form.  Gave it the same name as the zip code field the user keys.  However, after I key in the zip code it returns the following error:
Invalid Barcode Value: 24551-3938 is an invalid value for barcodes of type USImb.
Can anyone assist with this issue?  It actually creates a IMB barcode if I ignore the error message and tab through but when I compare the IMB created to an actual one from some mail pieces I received using this address ... they are not the same at all.

    Hi,
Not sure why you are resolving the node (??), also I would not be inclined to include a period in the object name (.), maybe this is why you are resolving the node.
Also I don't see in the script where you are calling the instanceManager, in order to use the addInstance method.
Having said that the problem may be in the File > Form Properties > Defaults tab:
Check that Preserve script changes is set to Automatic.
Lastly is the form Reader Enabled? It would need to be for users with Reader to save the changes, including new instances of a repeating element.

  • Dealing with error:AR191-ISO code in VAT Registration Number in Cust Master

    Hi,
While creating a Customer Master, user wants to enter a VAT Registration number (in the control data tab) which begins with a country code(ISO code) that is not the country code of the company code for which the customer is created.
As a standard practice, system prevents this throwing error AR191 suggesting that ISO Code not correct in VAT Reg. number
Is there any way by which we can still allow user to enter a VAT registration number of his choice & requirement, which is not beginning with the ISO code of the country in which company code exists
    See example below:
Country of Company Code XYZ :UK
Customer Created in this company code should ideally have VAT Reg. Number starting with ISO code for UK but user wants to have a different VAT Reg. Number used which is not starting with ISO Code of UK.
Is there option available in SAP by means of which we can deactivate this check?
In the configuration for u2018set country specific changeu2019, we can select options based on the length of the VAT Reg. Number and itu2019s formatting but how can we get rid of the check on ISO code?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    BM

The length of the VAT number, which is important for this check,
    is stored in field UINLN.
If the check comes across an invalid format, an incorrect country key, or an incorrect check digit, the exception NOT_VALID is triggered, and an error message is sent. If the check runs successfully, nothing will be drawn to the attention of the user.
The check rules are stored in table T005 in the field PRUIN.You can deactivate the following rules.......
1 Maximum value length, without gaps
2 Maximum value length, numerical, without gaps
3 Length to be kept to exactly, without gaps
4 Length to be kept to exactly, numerical, without
    5 Maximum value length
    6 Maximum value length, numerical
7 Length to be kept to exactly
8 Length to be kept to exactly, numerical
9 Check against country-specific edit format
10 Deactivate Postal Code Check for USA
    Please do this.

  • Canadian postal code not taking in web forms

Seems like Safari changes a postal code entry like N1C to 1-1 and will not allow me to edit the 1-1. Any ideas?

    Hi Mark
I see the problem. The zip field is designed to accept only 5 characters. Tried it on Firefox too with the same result.
I believe Canada codes are at least 6 characters. Did Safari return an error when you sent the "contact us" info, while Firefox did not? If so, Firefox would have accepted the alpha characters, Safari not.
If that's the case, coding errors exist on the site which Safari would not accommodate, but Firefox probably would - it's much more forgiving with this type of poor coding.
Anyhow, good lesson in using another browser when rendering difficulties happen with Safari.

  • Wild Card Postal Codes in Transportation Zones and Postal Code Range in TCM

    Hello Experts,
I have 2 queries on Postal Codes usability in SAP TM:
    1. Postal Code Transportation Zones:
Business Scenario: Some countries have non-numeric Postal Codes and you can not maintain From and To Postal Code range. System supports Postal Code to be entered as Wild Card (XY1*) in Transportation Zone but does not respect them during charge calculation.
    2. Postal Code Range in Rate Table:
There are standard Calculation Bases for Source/Destination Postal Code Range but these do not allow maintaining values like Source Postal Code Range (90100-90199) to Destination Postal Code Range (63100-63199). I am unable to understand the use of these 2 calculation bases since they do not accept range.
    Kindly suggest.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Vikas Chhabra

I start with the first question: Well, well, well. Probably one of the most underestimated topics in the transportation network. A bit of a background: Postal codes are alphanumeric meaning they allow numbers and characters. Of course for some countries only numbers are required and those are pretty easy to handle. Nevertheless, SAP produces global software and there are countries having postal codes with unfixed length, character first, in the middle, at the end. This makes ranges ugly, tough, sometimes impossible.
The range definition works alphanumeric, which is a position to position comparison based on single chars. You can check the inclusion results in excel or with any database. For the zone definition this can mean that you are forced to enter postal codes and no ranges. Of course this blows up the maintenance effort in the beginning, but ensures the correctness.
I was surprised by your comment that the zone definition allows '*' because this would make this whole thing even more complicated and error prone. I tested it and it does not work, at least for Germany. I think in the address definition per country you can define valid formats for postal codes and there '*' is not valid for Germany. The transportation zone location inclusion will not work with pattern!
In case you have manages to maintain this: I would advise to take the effort and enter at least valid ranges.

  • Postal code length

    Hi,
I got feedback form user that in Taiwan the postal code length has been changed from 3-digits to 5-digits, they are still under transition period but soon all of them will be using 5-digits postal code.
When we maintain 5 digits postal code in customer master, there is an error message appeared to change the postal code to 3-digits. I know the validation is reading the postal code setting from country-specific checks config (SPRO). But before I change the config I would like to check; does any one knows if SAP has released any patch to update the country-specific check config for postal code for country Taiwan?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Shoaib.

    Hi,
You should be able to change the Postal Code length in
SAP Web AS ->General Settings ->Set Countries->Set Country specific checks.
Here you can configure the postal code length according to your requirements for Taiwan.
    Thanks

  • Populating postal code field

Tried inputting first 3 characters of my postal code as requested but keep getting a '8-2' error code. The site's web master says I needed to download a current Mac security update. I did that, but am still having the same problem

    HI,
Empty the Safari Cache from the Safari Menu Bar, Safari/Empty Cache... then relaunch Safari. Try that site. If you still have problems, go to Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click the Show Cookies button. Delete the website url, then click Done. Now click the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Delete that website .name.com and click Done.
    Relaunch Safari.. try that website.
