Error in PPT after exporting Xcelsius dashboard

I exported a Xcelsius dashboard into a MS Power Point. If tried to open in the same sytem it is working fine.
if tried to open in some other system, I am getting the following error.
"Some controls in this presentation can't be activated. They might not be registered in this computer."
The version of the flash player in the system the PPT was created and the system in which we tried to view is 9.0.115.0
Please suggest a solution to resolve this problem.

I'm not an expert on this but it sounds like security settings. When I export to ppt, the notes section of the slide generate has this text describing the security settings:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT XCELSIUS CONTENT EMBEDDED INTO THIS SLIDE - PLEASE READ ON IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES!
This PowerPoint slide has Xcelsius content embedded into it and certain restrictions apply:
1). Information message shown when you open this slide deck: "Some controls on this presentation canu2019t be activated. They might not be registered on this computer".
    You need the latest Adobe Flash Player on your machine to view the embedded Xcelsius content:
    a). Close PowerPoint - make sure you DO NOT SAVE this slide deck.
    b). Using Internet Explorer install the latest Adobe Flash Player from adobe.com
    c). Open this PowerPoint slide deck again.
2). A design-time thumbnail is not shown for the Xcelsius content when you open this slide deck until you enter and exit Slide Show mode.
3). Office 2007 files (.pptx) do not support Xcelsius embedded content - save as an Office 2003 file (.ppt) instead.
    For more information refer to the Export to Microsoft Word 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 section in the Xcelsius release notes.
4). The Xcelsius visualization shows error code messages (#2048, etc).
    Flash security restrictions have prevented the embedded Xcelsius content from accessing external data.
    To allow the Xcelsius embedded content to access external data refer to the Adobe Flash Player - Security Issues section in the Xcelsius release notes.
    Note: To allow embedded Xcelsius content in a PowerPoint slide you have to add POWERPNT.EXE as a trusted Adobe Flash application:
          Office 2003 path example - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\POWERPNT.EXE
          Office 2007 path example - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\POWERPNT.EXE

Hi,
iPhone doesn't support flash application with firmware 2.2.1, I don't know if it will work with firmware 3.0, and xcelsius shows the dahsboard as flash.
So I think you should find a program to view flash in iPhone.

Emailing ppt file with xcelsius dashboard - need advice

We have created a live connection to our xcelsius dashboards via LiveOffice, and we use it to load client-specific data into templated charts. We would like to email the pre-loaded powerpoint dashboards to clients and initially planned on using the "Save Scenario" function until we realized that this loaded/saved data is only available locally.
Any workarounds for loading data, saving, and then emailing to an end-user who is unable to connect to BOE?

Here is what you can do:
-->Run the dahboard in preview mode
>then goto FileSnapshot-->Current Excel data
-->Save the file
-->Import the saved excel file back into your existing dashboard. (Perhaps you can save (""Save as") your original dashboard and then make changes to the new one)
-->Export the file to PPT
--> Now you will be able to share the dashboard with your end users
P.S. You can remove live office connections configured in the data manager from the New dashboard.

Exporting Xcelsius dashboard to PDF in landscape mode

This same question was posted over a year ago and one of the 'official' replies was that the feature was added to the request list and was going to be implemented some time in the future. I was just curious if there have been any developments on this and thus, if it's now possible to export a dashboard from Crystal Xcelsius into a PDF in landscape form.

I had the same problem but have only found a temporary fix.
In Adobe Acrobat, go to Document -> Rotate Page.
Rotate by 90 degrees in either direction (doesn't matter which way)
You will now notice why I call this temporary - you will have large blank margins above and below the dashboard even if you did not include any when exporting.

URL button doesn't work after export into ppt/word/pdf

I am working in Xcelsius.
Lets say I have placed a URL button in the Canvas and mapped that to a path of the file(which is not actualy an URL),but any path of the file which is present in the local system
After exporting this dashboard into ppt(or word/pdf),when i click the button,its not redirecting me to a target.
But during Preview of dashboard,it works fine.But after exporting,the URL button not redirects me to the path specified.

Xcelsius (SWFfile) performance after exporting to Business objects platform

I am facing a problem wherein the SWF file takes time (almost 1-2min) to load the refreshed data in Infoview portal
i.e. after exporting the xlf file to Business Objects platform.
Following are the system details:
1) Business Objects XI Release 3.1
2) Xcelcius Engage/Enterprise 2008 SP3 Windows (file name: 51038212.ZIP) version 5.3.0.0 build number 12,3,0,670.
Following are the dashboard details:
1)2 tab sets
2)column charts
3)combo boxes
4)spreadsheet tables
5)quite a few images and logos embeded
In the xlf file, we have used the Refresh on load option in
Data manager so that the dashboard (SWF File) takes the latest WebI report instance when opened in Infoview portal.
The SWF file is approximately 2MB in size and it uses 42 live office connections.
Also I had read in few blogs that vlookup function is not the ideal function to be used in the excel datasheet and instead INDEX/MATCH
can be used to improve performance. Is it true? I have tried using INDEX/MATCH function for few charts but doesn't show any performance improvement.
Please suggest solution as to how to decrease the time it takes to refresh the live office connections and display the SWF file in Infoview portal.

Hi Lee,
2 MB is quite heavy for a swf file. I think you should split this file in different parent-child flash files using the swf loader component and opendoc.

Export entire Dashboard in excel is giving error generating document when table view have subtotals

Hi all,
We have dashboard with multiple tabs and are trying to Export entire Dashboard into excel.
Excel file is generated with all dashboard tabs as sheets but few of those sheets are empty with Error generating document message in first cell.
After further analysis we concluded that cause is table view with subtotals enabled. Pivot tables with subtotals are generated properly.
Obvious workaround solution to recreate table views into pivots is not possible due high number of reports.
We are running Oracle Business Intelligence Product Version 11.1.1.7.150120 (Build 150113.1200 64-bit)
Any ideas or solutions about this problem would be much appreciated.

We just found culprit
Rows per page of table view must be max 999999999 which is more than enough for our needs.

Xcelsius dashboard pulling data after BO session timeout

Hi,
We are working in BO 3.1 Sp2 fp 2.6 environment where in we have built Xcelsius dashboard published on infoview for end users.
These xcelsius dashboard are using Live Office connection to show data from webi and crystal reports and have multiple tabs to navigate apart from Home page.
The scenario is user logs in to infoview using his/her SAP credentials and access these .swf file . The user is presented with a drop down filter box , he can select the values from there and see the data based on that. During this activity if user remains idle for more than 20 mins and comes back to home page after that , a error message is displayed saying session is lost or expired which is quite expected.
Now, if user clicks on OK for that error message and try to put filter values again system allows him to do so and shows him the updated data based on filters.
The question is , is this happening because of cache or something as there is no session active for user still he can put filter and see data and can also navigate across the tabs in dashboards.
As mentioned ,the xcelsius file is using Live Office connection and property "Latest Instance" for reports which are already scheduled.
Appreciate your views on this behavior (after the BO timesout).

The issue is not really with standard timeout which is set to 20 mins.
The core problem which annoys users is while they are still moving across the tabs (that means they are active), they'll get this error message if they don't go back to home page within 20 mins time interval .
This is so because when they are navigating between tabs their session somehow is not detected as active in BO and thus expires after 20 mins.
The only suggestion that we could give to users is to go to home page before session expires so that they can continue their analysis without getting this error.
But, still we don't have the reason as why during analysis on tabs session is detected as idle and how data is coming in dashboard even if session expires from BO side.
Hope this clarifies.

What is the reason for this error? after export part of movie broken

hi, i cannot find the reason for this strange error that happaned to me for the first time, you can see the outcome here:

after exporting in imovie to h264 .mov file, from HDV project, resolution is twisted, plus, the part that was supposed to fit hole screen, is black and sometimes with little graphic errors.
i tried about 10 times, with different setting, resolutions, and other parameteres.
after exporting for ipod, everything is ok, in m4v format.
what is wrong? i use the same method for creating and also for exporting, as in previous projects. i didnt use any new transitions, efects nor titles...
any thoughts?

ok, i think that i know where is the problem, but i still dont what is it
ive copied my file to a new mac with just installed imovie and everything is the same,exactly the same output. so 100% positively the problem is within the particular project.
i didnt check my mackbook with TT, since i dont have it and dont want to pay i thought its for free
i`ll try later to figure out what wrong and what part of the project is bad.
for now, i think i hate imovie again :)) piece of..

QT-0544-bfe29850-13ebc4-00 error after exporting

Has anyone received this error after exporting from other files? I get this and can't show MOV files after I export from AVI to MOV. It show me that it can't find this file on my hard drive. I've removed all and re-installed everything again. Removed the application data apple computer and local application apple computer information and then reinstalled. I still get the error. HELP. Error message after Export, LR5.4

This message appears after each time I export. However, the Export has already succeeded. Several weeks.

In your Export dialogue, right down at the bottom in the Post-Processing section, set After Export: to Do Nothing.

OBIEE Report Export from Dashboard to Excel doesn't suppress the columns as

OBIEE Report Export from Dashboard to Excel doesn't suppress the columns as expected even after the properties are set to Suppress in the report. In Dashboard it is suppressed Properly but in the excel export it is not suppressed and values for the columns are repeated.
Added the following to the instanceconfig :

Export the dashboard

Is it possible to export the dashboard e.g. aging analysis into excel and ppt file ? Pls advice. TIA

Basically yes and not. You cannot export from B1. But If you have an xcelsius application (which is used for development) possible to export it.
to do:
1. open the source file in xcelsius
2. replace in data sources the /proc with the server full address (B1i)
3. do preview (to test)
4. export it to Word/PPT/PDF,
Please note in this case the dashboard will run from ppt, pdf, etc, or a sample web browser.
By the way, in this case you have to do the authentication manually.... (en-USDBNAMEUSERNAME)

Error when trying to export to excel

I have been having a problem with some of the dashboards I have been creating that export data to a csv file. I used the process described here: http://biguru.wordpress.com/2008/04/26/export-data-out-of-your-xcelsius-dashboards/. When I trigger the XML connection it gives me an Error #2032. I have done research on this error as I have seen it before and usually the solution has something to do with a crossdomain.xml file. However, I don't think this is a fix for my problem. The reason I believe this is because I have successfully created dashboards that implement this export method before. In fact I have .swf files and .xlf files that continue to function properly. It's just new dashboards that I create where I see this error. Seeing as both the functioning and non-functioning files exist in the same directory and on the same server, it's hard for me to believe the error is a result of a crossdomain policy. Any ideas on what might be the problem?

But doesn't this only work for the latest SAP Dashboard 4.0? How about for those with just Xcelsius Engage 2008? I'm thinking that's why everyone is discussing the XML output option

Add Xcelsius Dashboard to Web Dynpro via Flex Wrapper

Hello all,
I'm trying to get my application, similar described in [https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001894392008E.pdf].
When running the app in Flex Builder 3 i got the following error in firefox(i guess flashplayer debugger?!)
SecurityError: Error #2047: Verletzung der Sicherheits-Sandbox: parent: file u2026bin-release/xyz.swf kann nicht auf file u2026bin-debug/xyz.swf zugreifen.
     at flash.display::DisplayObject/get parent()
     at mx.managers::SystemManager/executeCallbacks()
     at mx.managers::SystemManager/docFrameHandler()
Help: Because the description of the error is in German, I'll try to translate: file xyz.swf cannot access file xyz.swf!
(xyz.swf) is both times in the same folder, so I suggest, that would be the same file... But where can I change that? And where in Flex Builder do i have to add my swf exportet from Xcelsius? Any help available?

I found that documentation before, but my Slider is embedded in an Xcelsius-Dashboard. I tried to get the event-handling working, but only in VC, and not in Web Dynpro4J.
I use the GenericXcelsiusWrapper.swf as Wrapper for the Xcelsius Dashboard, and I can write data in the Flash Island and display it, but after a change in WD the changed value will not be displayed in the TextView.
Do I have to handle an GAC-Event-Property, and if yes, which name should I use?
Hope, anyone has experience with that or has a document, because I didn't find any, and can help.
