Error in process chain with attribute change runs

We have one warning is coming in one process chain :A type "Attribute Change Run" process cannot precede process "Execute InfoPackage"
We checked the Process View , we found that there are number of attribute change run after each scheduling of Info package with different datasource but for same data target.
How to remove this warning .
Some onsite person has added this extra Attribute Change Run recently.

Hi Surendra,
If it is the same Info-object that is getting loaded through different Info-packages then have only 1 "Attribute Change Run" process at the end. You can ignore the warning.

Hi,
I believe this would be your Prod system, so don't just cancel it but look at the job log. If it is still processing then don't kill it and wait for the change run to complete but if you can see that nothing is happening and it is stuck for a long time then you can go ahead and cancel it.
But please be sure, as these kind of jobs can create problems if you cancel them in the middle of a job.

Error with Attribute Change Run - Urjent

Hi All,
In our scenario we will load master data from APO&ECC to BW.When we are doing attribute change run we are geetting short dump and jobs are cancelling every time .
Please fidn the details below.
Short Dump : ORA-14400 with ABAP/4 DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR..
When I have searched in the forum I got some information saying that we need to drop the index and recreate the index.But we have around 40 cubes.Then how I am going to deside on which I need to the relavent settings.
Please provide me the proper answer.We are facing this problem from past last two days.

You can try going to the monitor for Attribute change run from RSA1 >> tools >> apply change run or from Transaction RSATTR which will schedule/display attribute change run. Here you can have an option called change run monitor (Monitor icon). this wil show the status of change run including which all info objects are affected, and if its hitting the aggregates of any cubes. There are scenarios where the attribute change run failed with message that it was hitting/affecting aggregates of some infocubes. In case we had to switch off aggregates and trigger the change run again and then swtich on the aggregates after the change run is over.
And sometimes ACR goes on running for a long time in such case we need to check which Aggregate the ACR is currently changing and need to deactivate that aggregate.
But before deactivating an aggregate you need to check the data present in that and the usage of the aggregate.
Please use the table RSDDCHNGPROT and find out the infocube affected by this change run and de-activate "ALL" the aggregates
of the infocube listed under CNSID=0. Then start the change-run.
You can rebuild/refill the aggregates once the change-run is finished.This is necessary because there are inconsistencies in the aggregates
Most of the times we have problem with the Attribute Change Run(ACR) running because ACR and the Roll Up's for Aggregates cannot run in parallel.
Also you can try Tcode CHANGERUNMONI/program RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR to view this data.

Process chain with attributes

Hi Experts,
i built a process chain with 4 Masterdata.
I beginn with start and for each master data, i set up an infopackage and at the end , i created an Attribute with the 4 Masterdata als Infojects.
1. When i save, the order changed.
All the masterdata could not be upload.
How can i built a better process chain with Attibutes?

Aggregates with Attribute Change Run and Master data

Hi !
I created Aggregate which includes Master Data such as Customer , Customer Number , Material , Material Number.....
It also contains navigational attribute and hierarchy...
Now we all know that if Master data and Hierarchy changes frequently(or some new values are added or new attributes are added etc.) we want to see the respective change in Aggregates too
So just Rolling up aggregate will not help.
We need to apply Attribute Change run for this purpose, to aggregates..
Now the question is HOW TO APPLY ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN to aggregates?
How to automate this process with Process chains..?
If i create Aggregate on Master Data CUSTOMER NO., DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE THAT AGGREGATE IN ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN FOR THAT CUSTOMER NO. PROCESS CHAINS ? Yes or No..........
(What i mean to say is if there is Attribute Change Run for Customer No. and if this is in Process chains specially created for Customer Number , than as aggregates are created on Customer No., does i t automatically applies and make changes to Aggregate too, or do we hvae to create special process chian for it ?)

Issue with Attribute change run

Hi All
today one of my team memeber has killed attrribute change run, after that when we tried to use option maintain master data, a message were coming attrtibute has cancelled, please re run, even we were not able to load same infobjects, getting message, master data is locked, when it tried to see data in p table then i was getting few entries having delate and insert image( example for infoobject 0customer for customer number c100 two entries one with d flga other one with in flag.)
First i went in t code se14, i put all tables name then cliecked on activate and adjust data.
Even though problem persist,
Also i was not getting any infobjects in lsit( from rsa1-> tools-> attr change run)
Then i created one dummy process chain with process type attr change run and included only inoobject with which i was facing data load issue.
Please advice on my step.

Hi,
Goto RSATTR Tcode -> Click on Tab Monitor and Start Terminated Change Run -> system will open a new screen -> here you can see the failed change run, please rerun this failed change run and then try to load data, after successful change run things will be normal.
SAP Clearly suggest NOT TO KILL OR CANCEL Change Run Job. If this don't solve you issue, you may need to look for some SAP Note.

Process chain error - Attribute change run

I am creating a Process chain to load 4-5 master data with its text.
I get a error while executing :
it says : Attribut change run need to be set up.
what should i do
1 :where should i set it up and how ??
2 :why is that needed ??
I included it in the Process chain and still it says that i need to set it up in the administrative workbench .

Hi , when i execute a Process chain it stops at the A Master data load package and i get that red.
if i double click it ,
It says that
Attributes are not yet maintained.
If i see the details,it says
Diagnosis
     The attributes have either not yet been created or activated.
     The data cannot be taken from the source system without maintained
     attributes. Therefore, this data request is not possible.
Procedure
     Maintain the attributes for this master data-InfoSource in the
     Administrator Workbench and then activate them.

Attribute change run Failing in Process Chain

Hi guys,
Every day my process chains is failing due to Attribute change run and I am maually running attribute change run.
And one more thing when the attr. change run is triggered automatically,then it is generating 2 change counters in RSATTR tcode instead of 1.
One is successfully completes and one is still in schedule.After 2days days it is showing like completed change count id.
Please help me.

Hi,
As you said Attribute change run step is failing every day.
can you post the error message. is it failing because of Lock issue or some other issue.
Mostly attribute change runs fails with lock issues. if its the same problem in your case. make sure that no master data objects runs at the time attribute change run runs.
Try to put some delay in the process of the Attribute change run so that it will not get failed.
Check if its the same ACR scheduled or diff objects?

I have an issue where the master data Attribute Change Run aborted with an error pointing to the BWA:

we tried to load only 0 data into it,the error still occured.

Detail message is following:
not all data was indexed for index 'GBP_BIC:XYCH_098('0' for '114')
creation of The BIA INDEX for infocube 'YBC_SD015' terminated while filling

Attribute Change Run- Serial or Parallel

If we are building a chain for Attribute Change Run for all Master data objects, should we:
1. load Masterdata A, followed by attribute change run, load masterdata B followed by attribute change run, load masterdata C followed by attribute change run....
2. Load Masterdata in Parallel followed by AND with ONE attribute change run.
The first one seems grossly redundant but then if we have only ONE attribute change run, wouldnt that lock up all the objects for a LONG time?
Also, does an attribute change run by default include ALL objects which have been loaded anew and for which the change run has not run???

Also, say I have loaded object A , B and C. And in my process chain I have Attribute change run only for Object C.
Will the Attribute Change Run include newly loaded A and B by default?

How does attribute change run works for Aggregates and Master data?

Can anybody xplain how does the attribute change run works for Master data ?
For e.g.
There is 0spelling and it has master data
On Day 1 there are 10 records
day 2 it has 12 records
so with attribute change run this 2 new records will get added....
The values for this 12 records will added seperately in Data load
Is this how it workss
So how about Aggregates which has Master data.????

for e.g.
u have 0spelling whicha has attributes x,y and z on day 1 with 10 records
so do ur aggregates on day1 with same values
now on day2 u had new values of attributes y,z,s,d and new hierarchies and so u add new records
with data load u will load the data with version M of modified and is not available for reporting
If u do attribute change run then this modified version is activated to A i.e. active version .
It will also do the change run alignment for Aggregate for new attribute values and new hierarchy values for aggregate.
now in order for this data to be available for reporting u will need to do the roll up of aggregate.....
if u roll up aggregate before attribute change run , new data is not avaialable for reporting
if u roll up aggregate after attribute change run, then data is available for reporting
if u dont roll up aggregate eventhough new data is in dataprovider, still new data will not be available for reporting.

Attribute change run in th eprocess chain failed with the message " SQL Error 942" and ran succesfully after repeating the step.Searched in Forums for similar error but the solutions were not apt.

The reason behind that error could be:
An attempt is made to activate a characteristic whose compounding was replaced and whose navigation attributes were simultaneously deleted. The replacement of the compounding temporarily deletes the M view of the characteristic during internal activation. The process of deleting navigation attributes involves converting the attribute SID tables. However, the M-view of the characteristic, which has just been deleted, is needed for this conversion.
Check this SAP Note:
Note 684405 - Replacing the compounding and deleting navigation attr.

Change run error in Process Chain

Hi,
I got an error in running the change run step in the process chain.
The error is "The action is locked by a change run".
Could this mean that the change run was running when this step in the process chain was invoked.
I have a process chain with multiple(4) parallel processes and I would like to know from you gurus the best way to model such a process chain. Should I keep just one attribute change run at the end of the complete process chain or should I let the change run after every PC (each of the 4).
Any inputs will be appreciated

Exactly, you need to keep the change run process at the end of the PC. no need to run the change run for every master data flow.
check whether change run is running? check in RS12 for locked entries.

Regarding attribute change runs in process chains

Hi All,
While creating process chain for master data objects. I am trying to incorporate attribute change run process type for an info object. But the system asks for the DTP of the attribute and when i choose the DTP then both DTP and then Attribute are being incorporated. This is not exactly a problem but i need to understand why it is happening as i am already using that DTP to load data. Will this affect the data in master data object?. Thanks in advance.
