Error in Remote Chain process type

Hello All,
I have a requirement wherein after one process chain in BW is finished another on in APO server should start.
So i created a remote chain process type.
In the destination i have given the APO system and then name of the process chain from APO system and in the destination for call back i have given BW system.
When i check the process chain, it is giving an error as error in definition of the process chain.
Has anyone ever used remote chain and faced such an issue.
Thanks and Regards,
Mansi

Hi,
process chain are stored in tables RSPC* -->RSPCCHAINT store the text.chk the definition there.
Hope this helps,

  • Process chains - Process type ends with complex status

    Hi all
does anyone know how to use this functionality ? I've created a custom process type that ends with complex status. I assume I assign the different statuses with parameter E_STATE. But how do I retrieve the status in the process chain ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
We have two connected links in the process, one to continue the process chain when process status is green and other link to red status. The problem is the process status remains yellow until our confirmation in pop-up.
The process chain should be started by user in web browser. So, it isn't possible run it in background.
    Thank you,

  • Error "Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'" while transporting process chain to production system.

    Hi Gurus,
Whenever I try to transport a process chain ZFI_0FIGL_C10 from dev. to qua. & prod. the error “Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'” is displayed in the end of creating transport package.
The process chain was created to load data to 0figl_c10 and it works all right on all systems (dev. qua. prod.).
The process chain contains processes for:
    - starting the process chain
    - executing infopackage (for loading data to 0figl_o10),
    - ACR (activate data in 0figl_o10)
    - delete index 0figl_c10
    - DTP loading data from 0figl_o14 to 0figl_c10
    - executing infopackage 80FIGL_O10
    - creating index in 0figl_c10
    - building DB statistics
    - rolling up aggregates in 0figl_c10
    - deleting of requests from the changelog 0figl_o10
    - deleting of requests from PSA (0fi_gl_10)
How to find what cause that error.
    Regards,

    Hi,
A SAP consultant told me to ignore that error.
Indeed, after creating transport with some new process chains (again I was informed about that error "APCO ...") and transporting it to production everything works all right.
The problem is described in sap note: 883745.

  • Error in Including Roll Up Process Type into Process Chain

    Dear Experts,
On BI 7.0, I found an error, when including the Roll Up Process Type into my process chain. The sequence of my first process chain looks like this.
Start -> Execute Infopackage -> Execute DTP to load data to DSO -> Delete Cube Index -> Execute DTP to load data to cube -> Create Cube Index -> Roll Up
I found this error when activating the process chain
'No type "Delete Index" process can be in front of process "Roll Up of Filled Aggregates/BIA Indexes" variable ROLLUP_ZHRF_C04
Then, after looking through the forum, I found someone suggest using 'Initial Fill' before 'Roll Up'. I followed his sugguestion, so my second process chain looks like this.
Start -> Execute Infopackage -> Execute DTP to load data to DSO -> Delete Cube Index -> Execute DTP to load data to cube -> Create Cube Index -> Initial Fill -> Roll Up
The same message is shown; however, this time it just a warning message instead of the error msg.
    1) How can I solve this problem?
    2) In which sequence of process types I should take for my process chain?
    3) Must I always use the Initial Fill before the Roll Up in the process chain?

    Hello,
This issue is with patch 16 of BI. The only solution i think is you need to create a local chain with start process -> rollup and include all the roll up cubes in that variant and include this local chain at the end of the main chain. Hope this helps.

  • Process chains: error when including CVC generation process type

    hello all !
I have a Pc that loads data from custom extractor into a Icube.
next triggers Generate Characteristic combination which never executes. Status remains active but no "completed succesfully" (yellow triangle) in monitor of pc.
When I run it alone the CVC generation process types executes OK...??!!!
My sequence is Delete Index from cube ---> Load IP --> Atribute change run ---> Create Index --> Delete overlapping request (up to hear loads oK although status never becomes green '??)
final step is a CVC generation + adjust time series process type.
Does any of you know why the error ? and how to help solving it out ?
    appreciate all yur comments

    Hi Samir,
I guess you can directly go to RSA1->Source Systems.Rt click and Transfer Global Settings then Delete the Red Request and Go to the Particular Process chain and do a Repeat/Repair.
    You can try repairing it...
Rest of your question is not clear.... Give me ur number, will call you, then we will discuss

  • Error in remote call of destination - when transporting process chain

    Hi all,
I have earlier not had troubles transporting process chains from development system to test. Now I get the following error
Error in remote call of destination BW Test
    Message no. RSPC051
    Diagnosis
The following error occurred during the remote function call for destination BW Test:
Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)
    System Response
A short dump has probably been written in the other system.
    Procedure
Look at the short-dump overview in the other system.
I know we have a transaction (RSTPRFC) where we give the password for the user that will do the activation of the PC after transport, but checking with the basis guy, and according to him there has not been any changes to this user. (As the user is the same as the RFC user used when setting up source systems). Running a check on the source systems from RSA1 gives green on all, so then the user should be correct...
(there is also no short dump available in the other system)
Does anyone have a clue on what could be done to locate the error..?
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Øystein

    Hi,
you are both right, and I got the issue corrected. In SM59 i have an ABAP connection that when checking it, gave me a logon error. When getting this connection working (by giving another password) and then setting the same password in RSTPRFC, the transport worked.
I'm just not sure I understand why this became an issue.
But anyway, thanks for the input.

  • Error in Decision Process Type Transport ( process chain)

    Hi,
I have used a decision process type in my process chain and hence used the BW formula builder to create the logic for the "if then else" conditions of the decision process type. I have collected the process chain with all the required components like the process chain, the start process type, the decision process type and the corresponding formulas.
The trasnport went in fine with a warning (return code 4), but the formulas didn't get transported. The transport log reads like "An error occurred when deleting formula XYZ version A" at the RS_RSFO_AFTER_IMPORT.  The overall status is a 4 and even though the log reads like "An error" it is in yellow indicating that it is just a warning.
I checked in target system ..other objects are transported except for the formulas. The table RSAFORMMAP doesn't contain any record for the formula ID XYZ in the target system whereas the sender system has corresponding entries.
Transport requests are colleceted properly.. i able to see formula ID , all object table in TR. but stll its not moving to target system..
    what will be the issue?
    Regards
    Rajesh

    HI,
I found SAP NOTE 0000884385  for this issue. but is there any otherway to rectify this issue

    Hi All,
when i am trying to excute a process chain, i am facing follwoing error:
    1)  My chains contains a ODS with its infopakage so data is flowing form infopakage to ods and get activated.
    2)  delete index is executed at  cube level. and gets updated through DTP
Here is the errror message its thorughing
"Job BI_PROCESS_DROPINDEX could not be scheduled. Termination with returncode 8"
Please give me useful tips to  execute the chain.  Points will be awarded for the useful  points,.
    Thanks a lot
    Narendra

    Hi,
yes, the user should be set with type 'system'.
    Just use the following path:
    SU01-> USER(ALE REMOTE)->LOGON DATA->USER TYPE-> SYSTEM.
This user type may not execute or start any batch jobs, irrespective of the user authorizations.
    Solution
Set the type of background user to
    "Background" up to 4.6B
    "System" as of 4.6C
This user type corresponds to the "Communication" type and may also perform background functions

  • Email Alert for Process Chain for ABAP Process Type

    Hi BW Experts,
I created a process chain based on ABAP Process Type ( for Broadcasting rsrd_broadcast_starter). I want to add alert message for each ABAP process if it is failed. But I cant see any option showing Successfull or Error or Always when I select create message option on the process type. How ever I can see for other process chain which is loading data (Process Type is Info Package ) from SAP into BW.
Please some one tell me why it is not showing alert message for ABAP Process Type.
    Thanks

I dont have the exact answer for your question, But as a work around i can suggest you that.
If these ABAP programs are included in a chain and this local chain is a part of meta chain then you can create a message on the local chain.By right clicking on the local chain >Create Message>Success
                                                                                    --->Failure
    >Always
Hope this resolves the problem tempervorly.I will get back to you once i have
    Or the permanent solution is
Its big and also easy method to perform, by this you will be able to get all the options for a ABAP Program also.If you have any questions please let me know.

    Hi,
    take a look:
    Data Warehousing
    "Errors occurred during post-handling RS_AFTER_IMPORT for MPRO L "
Errors occurred during post-handling RS_AFTER_IMPORT for ROUT L
Try to set the Process Chain Start to Immediate(background jobs) in the schedule, because this will trigger the process chain once tranported and may cause similar errors.

  • Process Type ABAP does not work properly via process chain

    Dear SDNers
I am running a process chain and it contains process type ABAP program. ABAP program was running correctly till now via this process chain. ABAP program process type generally takes approximately 2 hours to run. But now, this process type for ABAP program just run for less than 1 minute and finishes successfully. The issue is that ABAP program does not run at all.
I ran the ABAP program in background and it took approximately 2 hours to run. ABAP Program is local means in our BW system and does not involve Remote Function call. We have BI7.0 system
Has some one came across this type of issue?
    Best Regards
    Pradip

Has the aleremote user or which ever user you have defined for background scheduling changed permissions recently?
What happens if you create an adhoc chain and include this ABAP variant, does it run then?
What does the log say in SM37 when run via process chain?

  • Subject: Continue Process Chain Execution Despite a Process Type Failure

My process chain is made of several process types; process type 1, process type 2, etc.
Generally if a process type fails, e.g., process type 1 failed, subsequent process types are not executed.
    1.     Is it possible to continue to execute process type 2 despite errors in type 1.
    2.     If process type 2 was an ABAP program, is it possible to get in this program whether process type 1 was success or failure because I want to do certain things only  if process type 1 was a failure,

    Hi,
    Here are my answers,
    1) Is it possible to continue to execute process type 2 despite errors in type 1.
It is possible to execute subsequent process even if the process fails.
when you are developing the process chain, whilee connecting processtype1 and processtype 2, a popup appears with three optionhs "success", "failure", "always".
    select "always" in your case.
If you are asking about the process chain already developed, go to edit mode, removelink between process1 and process2 and follow above steps.
*2) If process type 2 was an ABAP program, is it possible to get in this program whether process type 1 was success or failure because I want to do certain things only if process type 1 was a failure *
let me assume that you want to run programA if process1 is succesful and programB if process1 fails.
include programA in process2 and ProgramB in process3
connect process1 to process2(ProgramA) and select "success" n the popup
connect process1 to process3(ProgramB) and select "failure" in the popup.
    hope this helps you,
please let me know if you need any more information.

  • What are process types in process chain

hi any one tell me what are process types in Process chains

    Hi,
In the Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen.
In the left-hand area of the screen, a navigation area is displayed. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
Use the drag-and-drop function to add the relevant processes into your process chain.
You use the Process Types function to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate InfoSources and Data Targets navigation trees.
If you insert into the chain a process that is linked to additional processes, the respective process variants are generated and inserted into the process chain automatically. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain if required.
Only if the attribute realignment run is inserted automatically, do you also arrive at the variant maintenance screen.
If you want to specify yourself the processes that are to be included in a chain, choose Settings ® Default Chains, and select the Do Not Suggest Processes option. As a result, the system does not suggest, generate, or insert automatically any processes into the chain. This setting is user-specific.
If the chain that you create does not correspond to the standard, the system displays a warning. You can ignore these warnings if you are sure that you are creating a chain that meets your requirements. Warnings do not affect how the chain operates during runtime.
Your chain is checked in the checking view and during activation. The system tells you if it discovers any errors.
Creating a Process Chain Using the Maintenance Dialog for a Process
You are in the maintenance dialog of a process that you want to include in a process chain.
    1. Choose the Process Chain Maintenance pushbutton and create a process variant.
    2. Save the variant and go back to the previous screen.
A dialog window appears in which you enter a technical name and a description of the chain that you want to create.
    3. Confirm your entries.
The Add Start Process dialog window appears.
    4. Create a variant for a start process.
    1. a. On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
    2. b. If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for the chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
The Maintain Start Process screen appears again.
    3. c. Save your entries, return to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog window.
You are taken to the Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen.
The various process categories, the application processes, and collection processes are displayed in the left-hand area of the screen. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
If the process that you used to create a chain is linked to additional processes, the respective process variants are generated and inserted into the process chain automatically.
    5. Use the drag-and-drop function to insert any additional relevant processes into your process chain.
You use the Process Types function to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate InfoSources and Data Targets navigation trees.
Additional Steps to Creating a Process Chain
    6. When you add a process, you need to select a process variant or create a new variant. For collection processes, the system determines the variants.
Various functions for working with the process are available from the context menu:
Context Menu Entry for a Process Function Information
Maintain Variants With the exception of the variants in the collection process, you can use this function to change all process variants.
Exchange Variants You can swap the variants for an existing variant or a new variant.
Display Scheduled Jobs Once the process chain is active, you can use this function to display the jobs that have been scheduled.
Display All Jobs After at least one run of the process chain, you can display, for a specific process, all of the scheduled jobs for this process and all of the jobs with which this process was run. You arrive at the job overview from where you call up the relevant job log.
Create Message You can also send messages to an application process of the chain, depending on the success or failure of the process.
    1. 1. From the context menu of a process, create an additional process variant of the Send Message type.
    2. 2. If you maintain a message, first specify whether you want the message to be sent when the process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully. Then choose Next.
    3. 3. You arrive at a window, in which you can select an existing process variant or create a new one.
    4. 4. If you create a new process variant, edit the document that is going to be sent, and maintain a list of recipients.
    5. 5. Save your process variant and go back a step.
The message process variant is now assigned to your application process. When the message is sent, the status information and the process log can also be sent.
    Wait Time
You use this function only to debug a process run.
Specify how long (in seconds) you want the delay to be between one event being triggered and the next process starting.
You can capture the process by using transaction SM37 (Job Overview) or SM50 (Process Overview).
Remove Process You use this function to remove a process from a process chain.
Manage Data Target You use this function in connection with the following types of process variants
    1. • constructing indexes
    2. • deleting indexes
    3. • constructing database statistics
    4. • rolling up filled aggregates
    5. • compressing InfoCubes
    6. • activating ODS object data
to call up the administration for each of the data targets.
    7. Hold down the left mouse button to connect the processes through events.
Before you do this, select the process underneath the process type row, and position the cursor over the required process. When you select the process type row, the whole process is moved into the plan view.
From the context menu of a link, you can display the event or remove the link again. To do this, highlight the link and right-click with the mouse.
    8. If necessary, specify whether you want the event to be triggered after the previous process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully or whether you want the event to be triggered independently of the outcome of the process that precedes it.
    9. Under Attributes ®Display Components assign a display component to the process chain.
    10. Maintain additional process chain attributes if necessary.
    11. Check your process chain in the Check View and make any necessary corrections.
The Legend explains the meaning of the different colors used to display the processes and links.
From the context menu for a process, you can display the messages resulting from the check.
    12. Save your process chain if it does not contain any errors.
    Result
Your process chain can be activated. After activation, the chain starts in accordance with the start process selections. For example, if you scheduled the start process directly and chose Immediately as the start date value, the chain run starts immediately after activation. In the Log View, you can display the reports for the chain runs.
    Hope it helps.

    Amith
