Error in renaming documents using Portal Drive

Hi,
we have NW Portal 7.0 SP12 and the following problem: when changing the name of a document using Portal Drive sometimes only the ID of a document changes but not the name. This means when I enter a folder using the portal I see a document with its name... when I enter the folder with Portal Drive I see this document with its ID.

Portal Drive Error--re-install SAP NW Portal Drive software and try again

Could you please let me know if there is any permanent fix for
Portal Drive inconsistence behaviour.
1.We use NW2004s SPS 13.
2.After the installation of Portal Drive (version 4.5.6796 ) on an

Hey just a update, so even though apple said the HDD was fine because of the S.M.A.R.T status and it was been picked it would be fine I did not agree, took my iMac apart went out to the local computer shop picked up a cheap 1tb WD HDD and now the iMac is worked fine and smooth :-)
So now I know that was the issue I can order a nice new SSD for the iMac and use the new HDD I got in an external case :-) just incase anyone had the same issue that's the fix. Buy a new HDD or SSD

Just looking for a point in the right direction or some answers to a problem that has been plaguing a few of our users.
We use Adobe reader X and Adobe Post Script driver as a means to print a document as a PDF.
However, a few of our users are experiencing the problem where as the every so often a PDF created comes up with the "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." Message. these documents always vary in size but average around 20 - 30 kb, These seem to be complete anomolies and are corrupted from the off. The only solution we have found for this is a complete rebuild. But we have no idea what is causing this, as we are using the latest version of Adobe Reader. Also, a document that will print corrupted on one go, will print fine on the next.

Thanks for your reply currently all users access these PDF's through the standalone reader and users on the most up to date version of Adobe Reader X are not using protected mode as we have had it turned off for a while to fix other problems.

Error While Posting documents using F-28

While posting Documents using 'F-28' after I passed posting key and account number I m getting the Error
'Entry not Possible'. Can anyone tell what may be the problem how to clear this error.

Hi,
I Guess this error is occuring because of the posting key and account number (Account type) combination is not correct. For each account type a perticular posting is is defined for debit and credit entries.
Check with your functional the correct posting key for account type and account number you are using.

Application crashes in CS4 on renaming document using Save As

I have ported a project from CS3 to CS4.But on renaming a document using File->Save As option my application crashes .
This did not happen in CS3.I m unable to find the problem

Same here---over and over. I had this problem in CS3 with Adobe's Acrobat update 8.2.4 which fowled everything up. I carefully followed the instructions to uninstall and reinstall all of CS3 but then every program in my CS3 crashed on opening or soon thereafter. I spent the money to update to CS5 and just successfully did that, except 'Save As' still crashes. I must go to the finder and rename the doc from there. Getting Error:Digitally Signing documents using Acrobat SDK

I am using following API's to digitally sign a document using Acrobat SDK but getting error(return code -2) while making a call to folllowing API DigSigCommitSigRefDict(ASAtomFromString("DocMDP"), tempDict, &pOutRefDict);

We have multivalued properties for files say geo:USA, APAC etc... Once we give value to geo property by being online in portal drive it is not reflectiong in Portal.
We are not able to view geo value in property through network mapped drive even if we maintain value in KM manually.
Please guide.

We were able to do this. This bug is fixed by SAP in 7.0 ICE.

Error while uploading document using Link Service

Hi
I have created a webcenter portal application ( in jedeloper 11.1.1.4) with Link service integrated.(Database and UCM connections are intact)
But when i click on link to new->document and click on Upload it gives a popup error saying connection to the server has failed, even though the connection exists.
I find that the document is checked in to the UCM even after the error was thrown, and once i re-run the application it shows up the link in the dialog.
Am i missing any configurations to be done?

Get error when unzipping document using Java Class

I am using an applet to unzip a compressed docuement. The document is compressed by a Java Rich client into a database and is going to be opened by a web application. So in order to decompress we are using an applet with the same unzip code. The rich client is working fine, but the applet is giving an error. Can anyone tell me what the following error means?? I have found no documentation on it and it is not giving me any real information.

Can you be any more specifc about what you are doing?
It may be a security issue as you are running the code in an applet.
The other thing to look into would be the content type you are using to send the zipped data over http. When writing the zipped object into the HttpServletResponse on the server you must call
setContentType("application/zip");
For a quickish example see

This sets the content type based on the file to be returned extension.

Error opening Visio documents in Portal KM

When I try to open a visio document (.vsd), the error "the page cannot be displayed..." appears, although I have installed the Microsoft Office Visio 2003. why it happens this?
If I Uninstall the program (Visio 2003) and only installed the Visio viewer, the documents are displayed correctly, but I want have the program installed and see the documents correctly.
What I must set?

I would recommend installing all available updates for MS Office, Internet Explorer, and Windows. If that doesn't help, it seems to be a case for Microsoft's customer support.

Portal Drive Single Sign On and Kerberos Authentication

We are using NW2004s SP10 Portal and we have successfully configured Kerberos authentication with Windows Active Directory 2003. To access the KM Content in windows explorer format, we are using Portal Drive but Portal Drive still asks for authentication i.e. SSO is not working for Portal Drive. I have understood from the forums and sap help site that SSO from portal drive will work only for NTLM authentication and client certificates. Can you please help regarding below questions.
1. Can Kerberos and NTLM authentication be configured together.
2. If yes, what are the steps to configure NTLM authentication for NW2004s SAP Portal and Active Directory 2003.
3. Any other approach to make Portal Drive SSO work.

I did two things:
first i made a change in the portalapp.xml in the PAR file "com.sap.km.cm.par". In the section authentication scheme for "docs" I changed the authentication scheme to "default" to make sure that documents are opened using the default authentication scheme (SPNego) instead of basic authentication
second, I used the SPNego wizard to configure SPNego. So I didn't adjust anything in the Visual Admin or the authentication template apart from adding the Template to the Ticket policy configuration.
Again, this only worked after installing the latest vesion.

Dear Praveen,
The SAP Portal Drive only adds a KM repository as a WebDav-folder to your Windows-Explorer so you can access it like your normal filesystem.
So you can copy and edit documents like you know it from the Windows world.
But please keep in mind that you only backup the file as it is, not any KM statistics, settings or user permissions of the file.
So if you have to rebuild the repository you can upload the files from your backup again, but you have to reassign all settings too.
