Error in SBO Service Manager
Dear All,.
I have a problem in SBO Service Manager. When I'm opening the Service Manager, the service seem not installed (blank) but when I'm looking in the Windows Server --> Administrative Tools --> Service, all the item in service manager is already installed and running.
I'm already trying to remove SAP Server and Server Tools and then doing clean installation but the problem is not solved. I'm already tried to reinstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005 but still the problem is not solved.
I'm using SAP Business One 2007A Pl 49 and Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
Pls help me to solve this problem...
Thanks for your help
Dear Gordon,
The Server OS is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 standard Edition Service Pack 1

SBO Service Manager button disabled
Dear Experts,
Hi, I try to run SBO Service Manager, it used to have dropdown drill with some options like "SBO Backup","SBO DI Server" and "License Manager". But now I see the dropdown no longer has those 3 options, but only blank and the button is turn into grey and disabled. I've check on service.msc all the services is "started" except for the SBO Backup.
Does anyone know how to figure it out?
Thanks,
FloHi Flo, this is just my opinon and even experience -
You probably have it on DVD or have downloaded some place the server tools service manager install/uninstall.
I suppose it should not matter, as you are not downloading newer service manager.
However, do backup whatever you are doing, if you want to restore it to this state.
It is hard for me to tell 100% it will be OK, but I think it will be ok. The final decision is yours! -
I installed SAP Business One 8.8 and the Upgrade PL13.
The SQL server 2008 was installed a few months earlier and already in use.
The SBO service manager is not working well:
If I choose at Service: license manager,(or SBO Backup, SBO DI Server)
the buttons below stay grey and become not active.
I don't know what the problem is.
This is the reason I cannot find the hardware key for my licence key.
Can anybody help me?Webber is correct that there is no problem with your hardware key.
The license server is not able to access because there is security setting prohibit it to run. The security setting is in the UAC.
In the OS like windows server 2008 and UAC setting in the OS MS Window Vista or Window 7. there is UAC that turn on. This made the license server is unable to run. If you are using laptop or notebook as server standalone and using MS. Window Vista, just turn off the UAC. If you are using window 7, just set the UAC from always notify or default to notify me ... or never notify.
The setting is similar with windows server 2008 and do not afraid the other impact. The security is just to prevent the running of the softare that is not yet certified by Microsoft software. UAC is available in the user account. Access the user account in control pannel.
if you set the UAC default or always notify, you need to run as administrator for the SAP B1 software including SBO service manager.
here is the steps:
1. To run a program one time as an administrator
Right-click the program and select 'Run as administrator'.
2. To run a program permanently as an administrator
Right-click the program and select Properties -> Tab Compatibility -> Privilege Level -> Change settings for all users -> Privilege Level -> Run this program as an administrator
if this issue solved, pls close this message as answered.

Hi All,
I am facing one issue while downloading Service Orders in SAP Service Manager 4.0 with SMP 2.3 SP03
I am working in the development environment where I have 15 - 20 Service Orders. When I am transmitting the client it downloads the rest of the configurations properly like complex tables, data tables, rules, screens etc but as soon as it hits /SMCRM/BTX_DOSERVICEORD_GET it does not downloads anything. I get a session time out error and then the ATE gets crashed.
I checked in the logs where I found -
throwExceptionToClient::com.syclo.sap.component.serviceorder.steplet.ServiceOrderFetchSteplet::throwExceptionToClient::285::ServiceOrderFetchSteplet - No roll storage space of length 2352 available for OCCURS area.
2014/05/13 14:04:12.082: ServiceOrderFetchSteplet: doSteplet returned false; no data to process
As I said its in the development environment it has hardly 15 - 20 Service Orders but when checked with the basis team it is consuming all the 65GB RAM and hence could not proceed further.
Please let me know what could be the possible error and how can I fix this.
Please advise.
Thanks and Regards
Neha Mahanty

Only 15-20 service orders, but how much data on those orders? SM 4.0 brings down potentially a lot of data per service order, including:
Addresses,
Business Partners,
Categorizations,
Confirmations (and all the data under those),
History Records (There can be a lot of those),
Items,
Reference Objects (This could be a huge installed base).
You may need to debug the java and adjust what data is pulled down and/or examine the Service Orders to see where the bottle-neck is. You should also increase the timeouts in your Agentry.ini file. Those settings are in seconds.

SCCM Client Installation Error and compmgr service issues
Hi dudes,
Hope you all are good. I am getting stuck in SCCM client installation. I have SCCM 2007 R3 setup. It's working perfect but recently getting errors in
sccm client installation after facing some viruses issues in my environment.
I search on that error but nothing found any relevant information related
to the below error. I tried to manually installing the client but getting the error ccmsetup.exe is not a valid 32 bit application :(. Also while trying to start the configmgr service manager in tool box it gives the below snapshot error. Any help relevant
to the below error very meaningful for me.

Thank You for your response. Yes i tried it to manually start the service on client machine but it give the below error,
For component service manager, yes we are going forward to the restoration process using VM restore(as sccm is deployed on a VM and we take the full vm backup).

Error while starting Oracle Management server service
Hi all,
We are about to administer our database using Oracle Enterprise manager. For that we have configured OEM in a Test PC and tried to connect our database.
First i have logged in to OEM Console with Sysman login id using the default password "oem_temp" and it prompts me to change the password, also i have changed the password as "xxxxx" and i have come out of OEM console and tried to relogin using the changed password.
i got the message as invalid login or password or
check for the availablity of Management server service"
i found that the service Oracle Management server which was previously running is not running now and i tried to restart that manually.
On doing that i got a message as
"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
Would any one of u help me to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance..Hi-- could you please describe your administrative domain?
I need to know the operating systems on each of the
clients and the OSB admin server. Also, does 'obtool' CLI
tool work? Do any of the machines act as an apache webserver
for another application? Is there any other backup service
running on any of the machines?
thanks,
Judy
I noticed that when re-installing the OSB without the
Administrative Server (only Media Server and Client)
I got no errors at all (but still cannot connect from
another Administratice Server to my machine) -

Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service - Error when opening SM Portal
Greetings,
I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this issue and I have tried all suggestions I have found on Technet.
Basically, I had the SM Portal working on a test VM. I am ready to use it in production but it is not working. I deleted my test VM and built a new one. On it, I have SharePoint 2010 Foundation and the SM Portal installed. I have
a valid self-signed cert. the FQDN is correct (hqsrva24.dds.local) in both SharePoint and also in IIS. I also made sure under Application Settings on the SM Portal IIS site points to the FQDN of the SCSMWebContentServer.
So what happens when I go to the SM Portal (https://hqsrva24.dds.local:444/SMPortal) is it prompts me for a logon, which i put in and the site comes up. But at that point the Silverlight portion is not loaded and I immediately get prompted for a logon.
I have tried several different logons, all of which have full access to the site in Sharepoint. Eventually I get the error in red at the bottom of the screen "Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service"
If I try to access the Web Content Server service on its own (https://hqsrva24.dds.local/Servicehost/services/DataAccessService.svc), I get a prompt to logon and none of my logons work. i eventually get
an unauthorized error. However; If I log into the server which SM Portal is on and go to https://localhost/Servicehost/services/DataAccessService.svc, I get no prompt to login and I get a "Metapublishing for this service is currently disabled."
I'm out of ideas at this point, barring completely starting over (not just the SM portal but all of the Service Manager Suite).Man I've had this problem so many times and its almost always a different solution. Are you sure that either the Domain Users group or NT Authority\Authenticated Users have permissions to the site and service. remember the the two prompts are authenticating
different things: the Sharepoint site and the application site (silverlight). Make sure users have permission in both SCSM and in Sharepoint.

Has anybody faced the same problem?
Thanks
ThiagoHi Thomas,
Thanks for your response. I understood your comments but, the system was running fine for about 3 months. No changes have been applied during this time and suddenly this error pops out.
I opened a case with MS Support, but they applied a WA which does not resolve our problem, because the error appears after a few days later after the WA procedure.
The WA is just a watermark reset using this SQL query:
DECLARE @MaxTransactionId Int, @RuleID uniqueidentifier
SET @RuleID = '' -- <-- SET THIS TO YOUR RULE ID!!!
SET @MaxTransactionId = (SELECT MAX(EntityTransactionLogId) FROM EntityTransactionLog)
UPDATE CmdbInstanceSubscriptionState
SET State = @MaxTransactionId
WHERE RuleId = @RuleID
The problem with this WA is that all Work Items affected by the problem - workflows not being applied - do not get the information we need to identify all the SLA's. The system just "forget" them and moves on.
Cheers,
Thiago -

One question you have the website installed on the same
server on which you have the Server Management
Server, so if you can
not make your upgrade to
SP1, this changed because
a prerequisite of System Center Service
Manager 2012 SP1 in which you can not have
the server Mangement and
website on the same server they have to be
separate.
