Error in Setting lock for Master Data Load

Hi Team,
I encounter the following error while uploading the Masterdata
"Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes
Attributes of characteristic 0BPARTNER are locked by terminated change run 465451241"
I Performed the following steps
1) Checked if any active jobs (change run jobs) running in the system. But no jobs running.
2) RSATTR->infoobject list-> no infoobject found
3)Tried after sometime ,but load continue to fail
Could anyone help to solve the problem

Hi Bala,
Check in SM12 if there are any locks exist with the change run number?
First check if there are any Master data loads running related to it?
Check in the Attribute change run screen if there are any change run steps are running?
Once after checking the above if no locks exist and no master data is running then check the below steps
1. Run RSA1 transaction
2. Tools -> Apply Hierarchy/Attibutes Change(or direct transaction RSATTR)... menu option
3. Click at "Monitor and Start terminated Change Runs" button (at the bottom of the screen)
4. Click "Reset Status" button at Run ID 465451241
NOTE: this is not recommended, to unlock the locks better to wait till the locks get relased.
If still the error message persists then we can use a FM in se37 in serious cases which was not recommended by SAP...
Use RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_CLOSE in se37 and execute--->there give ur failed change run no(465451241) beside I_CNSID and execute...
It releases all the locks by that change run....and continue with your further work/jobs...

Actually first we should load data to Master data table and then to Transaction load data.By this reporting performance will be good.Right?
Actually this will decrease the time of transaction data loading .So it improves the loading performance , not reporting performance.
Now I got a doubt from where this Master Data is been loading? and how to load this data.
2LIS_11_VAITM and 2LIS_11_VASCL are the DS for Transaction data , not for master data.To load the master data, first of all find out the master bearing characterstics in the data target.And then search for teh DS of master data in R/3 with tcode RSA6 .You will use characterstic(info object) as the search option here.
For example 0materail is the Master characterstic.
And you can see the DS for this Characterstic in RSA6(if it is not there, you have activate it from RSA5)

I want to load the Master data by using the process chain . Can anyone tell me the step-by-step method for loading the master data .
I means what are the processes should i need to include in the process chain . Pls tell me in sequenece .

Hi,
The process os loading master data is similar to transaction data in terms of using the infopackages.
First you have to load Attr followed by texts and hierarchy.For master data you have to include the process type called as Attribute change run.This can be included as a separate process type or using the AND process.

Hierarchy for Master Data Load from BW

Hi All
I'm loading Master data from BW infoobject 0Customer. There is no Hierarchy maintained for it in BW.
Rather than creating hierarchy manually in BPC, I want to include mapping in transformation/conversion file which should roll master data records coming from BW to ALL_CUSTOMERS (member manually maintained in BPC). ALL_CUSTOMERS will be parent node for the hierarchy in BPC. No other levels of hierarchy is required. All the data should have one parent.
Something like PARENT=*STR(ALL_CUSTOMERS)
Please share your ideas? Help is very much appreciated.

If you are laoding master data from BW infoobject, you will not be able to load /specify any value for ParentH1/hierarchy node as BW /BPC does not allow that.
An option would be to
1) load hierarchy from a flat file or
2) to maintain hierarchy in BW amd load into BPC the normal way

Caller 09 contains error messages in infopackage for master data

we are facing issue in info package some records were available in psa and then we got the job cancelled at R3 side and the short dump attached screen shot

How you remove the error depends on the error message.

If the source system is a Client Workstation, then it is possible that the file that you wanted to load was being edited at the time of the data request. Make sure that the file is in the specified directory, that it is not being processed at the moment, and restart

Can you please check the extractor in RSA3.
Also try to find the record which is failing and fix the Profit Center for that record.
If you dont know exact error record, please take help from FICO guys.
Else do random loads like, if total no of records are 100
Load 50 records by giving selections. If it went fine, then go to next 50. Do loads in Binary search way.

you don't have the SAP BW Data Flow Control for Administration Workbench installed in your system

"master data deletion for requisition" before master data loading

Hello Gurus,
in our bw syetem , for process chains for loading master infoobjects, all include "u201C master data deletion for requisition" ABAP
process except for one process chain. my question is:
why that process chain for master data loading is different from others as for lacking "master data deletion for requisition" in it?
so it does not matter if you include " master data deletion for requisition" ABAP process in process chain for master data loading ?

Hi,
ABAP Process means some ABAP program is being executed in this particular step.
It's possible that for all of your process chains except for that one requirement was to do some ABAP program processing.
You can check which program is executed by following below process:
Open your process chain in planning view -> Double click on that particular ABAP process -> Here you can see program name as well as program variant.

Master data loading issue

Hi gurus,
 Presently i am working on BI 7.0.I have small issue regarding master data loading.
 I have generic data soruce for master data loading.i have to fetch this data to BW side.Always i have to do full data load to the master data object.first time i have scheduled info package and run DTP to load data to master data object, no issues, data got loaded successfully.whenever i run infopacage for second time and run DTP i am getting error saying that duplicated records.
 How can i handle this.

Hi Prasad,
Following is happening in your case:
Loading 1st Time:
1. Data loaded to PSA through ipack.It is a full load.
2. data loaded to infoobject through DTP.
Loading 2nd Time:
1. Data is again loaded to PSA. It is a full load.
2. At this point, data in PSA itself is duplicate. So when you are running the DTP, it picks up the data of both the requests that were loaded to PSA. And hence, you are getting the Duplicate record error.
Please clear the PSA after the data is loaded to infoobject.

Hi Arun
Check the data in PSA. You can find erroneous data in PSA and correct the same. Save the data in PSA. You can manually update the data from psa or in process chain just repeat the delta step. Before doing that delete the error request from the data target.

Master data Load - Strategy

Hi All,
I would like to know the better master data strategy.
When using 3.x master data load strategy I can load directly into the info object without going thru additional DTP process. Is there any specific advantages of doing this, besides that it is 7.X.
I have been using 2004s from 2005 but most of the implementations we used 3.x methodology for master data load and DTP for transaction load. i would like to know whether SAP recommands new methodology using DTP for master data loads? If I load my master data using 3.x I can avoid one extra step, but will it be discontinued in the future? and have to use DTP even for this?
Please advice if you know what is the best way forward strategically an dtechnically?

The new data flow designed by SAP is using the DTP, even for Master Data... Right now you can use the "3.x" style which they maintain for backward-compatibility but down the road, eventually, it will be dropped, so looking ahead, technically and strategically, the right way to go is by using DTP...

Master Data Loading in Process Chain

I want to design process chain for Master data loading we have 8 modules in our project such as SD,MM,FI,CO,PP,QM,PM and LO how Design PC .Each Module one start varient and All Text,Attribaute and hierarchies Loading parallel ofter one Attribute Change run this Approach is Right Please guide me
and Module dependence are there ?
Like First load SD then MM like please guide me

It is also possible to load like this:
load attributes
change run load texts in parallel
because chnage run and texts don't disturb each other.
If you want also to load hierarchies the following order is recommended:
load attributes
load hierarchies
changerun
texts at last or in parallel with changerun.
And for loading diiffterent area...........first tell me which architecture you are using..........split or LSA........
as per ur update u didnt mentioned the type of architecture wheather it split,or,LSA or some other thing which u are useing,
if you use Split architecture the load ,GD,DP,FC from FC completion of master data COPA will start so Complusary load FC first ,,u can run simulateanously (GD,DP,FC)it will be no problemand have to cross check about configuration of ur server also ,later you can start pp,tp in case of HR it will be total independent so check when u want to load
IN Case of LSA (layerd Scaleable architecture) first laod Masterdata .. which will same for all the Process areas (like 0costcenetr,0employee) later start the Trancation data which you feel which is important as per my knowledege go for FC in turn COPA because usually reports morely based on FC and COPA

We had faced this error few days ago and rebooting the server resolved the error but it has recurred after 4 days.
RS12 and SM12 do not show any locks. Activating the info object has also not resolved the error.
Any insight is appreciated.

Error handling for master data with direct update

Hi guys,
For master data with flexible update, error handling can be defined in InfoPackege, and if the load is performed via PSA there are several options - clear so far. But what about direct update...
But my specific question is: If an erroneous record (e.g invalid characters) occur in a master data load using direct update, this will set the request to red. But what does this mean in terms of what happens to the other records of the request (which are correct) are they written to the master data tables, so that they can be present once the masterdata is activated, or are nothing written to masterdata tables if a single record is erroneous???

Hi Christian -
Difference between flexible upload & Direct upload is that direct upload does not have Update Rules, direct upload will have PSA as usual & you can do testing in PSA.
second part when you load master data - if error occurs all the records for that request no will be status error so activation will not have any impact on it i.e. no new records from failed load will be available.

BW - Delta for Master data not loading

Hello All,
I am not able to load delta for master data of vendor and material.
The initial load works fine but when I load delta it gives an error
" The extraction program does not support object 0vendor"
" ALE change pointers are not set up correctly"
Do i need to activate the change pointer in BD61. I was not sure so checking up with all experts.

Hi Ravi,
We faced the same problem as you for 0MATERIAL_ATTR and we solved it by the following steps,
1. Delete the previous Delta Init for the InfoObject
If you have access to R/3 Side you can follow the steps or you can follow the BW Steps
Goto RSA7 ->Select and Delete the Init for the InfoObject
From BW Side
InfoPackage-> Inti for Source System -> Select & Delete
2. Execute the Init InfoPackage for the InfoPackage again.
3. After successful completion, execute the delta InfoPackage.
We have have got resolved by doing these steps and it may help for your problem as well.

About delta loading for master data attribute

We have a master data attribute loading failed which is a delta loading. I have to fix this problem but I have two questions:
1. how can I find the those delta requests because I need to delete all these failed requests first, am I right ? Master data is not like cube or ods that we can find the requests in Manage, for master data how can we find them ?
2. Could you please let me know the detailed procedures to perform this delta loading again ?

Look.....for master data.....no need to delete request from the target..........just make the status red.......and repeat the load.....But problem is that master data sometimes does'nt support Repeat delta..........if u repeat......then load will again fail with Update mode R.........in that case u hav to do re-init.......
1) delete the init flag.......(In the IP scheduler >> in the top Scheduler tab >> Initialization option for source system)
2) Init with data transfer(if failed load picks some records)..........otherwise .....init without data transfer.....if the last delta failed picking 0 records.......
3) then Delta.......
