Error in Standard MDM Search IViews

Hi All,
We are using MDM Standard search IViews in our project.
From past 2 days all the search IView are giving *Error performing search Can not authenticate user session *
I tested the System Connection and it is working fine.
I checked the user mapping and every thing is fine.
and we have not done any changes too.
can some one help me in knowing what could be the reason

we are able to login to Data Manager with Mapped ID's and I even tried creating new IViews. Nothing worked.
As you suggested, will try restarting the portal server.

Pop ups on Standard MDM Portal iViews throw Portal Runtime Error

Hi all,
We are facing some issues with MDM Standard Search iViews in Portal. We have configured MDM standard iViews using MDM Search Texts iView, MDM Result Set iView, MDM Search Picklists iView, MDM Item Details etc. We are facing a problem with the MDM Search Picklists iViews wherein we have to click the ellipses button to open the pop up. Whenever we open the pop up, the pop up shows Portal Runtime Error. Please find the screenshot below:

The MDM System is working fine. The other Standard iViews are also working fine. The surprising thing is that, when the Super Admin role is assigned to the user, the iViews start working perfectly as shown below:

I have checked the permissions also on all these iViews as well as the System object and did not find any problem. Moreoever, this was working fine till some days back. All of a sudden these iViews have stopped working. Please guide me as to what can be the reason for this and any possible solutions.

I would check the logs but it sounds like a permission error to me. Can you or your basis resources modify the Security Zones?
System Administration -> Permissions -> expand Security Zones folder -> right click on com.sap.pct.mdm.appl.masteriviews and select Open Permissions -> in the assign permissions section add read permissions for a particular user, role, or group which the user getting the error is part of, check the End User checkbox -> Save. Login to the portal and try again.

Javascript error in Standard MDM IViews on portal

Hello Xperts,
I have deployed standard MDM IViews on my portal.
In standard Resultset IView, there is a provision of saving results by using My Bags option. When I click on My Bags option and then New Bag, it throws javascript error.
Details of systems are as below.
MDM API version 5.5
Portal Version EP 7 SP07.
Appreaciate any inputs for this.

Two search iViews on 1 page

Hello,
Does anyone know how to add two search iViews on 1 page.
I would like to use the toolbar search (com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.default). In separate columns of a page. When added one toolbar search on the page everything works fine. Added two toolbar searchs on the same page however results in the following error.
Error: 'length'is null or not an object.
The results of the toolbar search opens in a new window, so I don't quite understand what's creating the error.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi Paul,
I did you the standard toolbar search iview. The normal search iView cannot be used, because we want the search results to be displayed in a new window. That's why we choose the toolbar iview.

Push MDM search results from webdynpro to portal's standard ResultSet iView

Hi,
I have gone thru a lot of SDN information, blogs and PDFs
regarding the usage of EPCF, EPCM for communication between
Webdynpro and Portal utlizing portal eventing phenomenon.
My requirement a.k.a. predicament and grief::
I get back mdm search results in webdynpro app, using a
specialized search strategy to MDM repository. I need to
ship these resuls off to the standard out-of-box
portal's MDM ResultSet iView (which is a part of portal's
MDM business package).
I haven't had much success getting crisp resolution to
satisfy my requirements. In my WD code, I know, I need
to put some sort of ?event-generating-2-liner-code? that
sends my results to portal's standard iView.
Surely, I can send just recordIDs or I can send the actual
results. I get 5 fields per record of Material's table.
Once the ResultSet-iView displays the search results,
my responsibility is over. Now onwards, portal's standard
business package will take over from there for further user
interacitons, like accessing item details etc..etc..
Any and all help is highly appreciated.

MDM Custom Iview and Standard Iview Portal Eventing

I'm trying to develop a custom iview which updates a Standard MDM Result Set iview:

So i created an iview which raises this event
WDPortalEventing.fire("urn:com.sap.pct.mdm.appl.masteriviews","updateSearch","ID=115551&RefreshSearch=True");
Then i upladed my code in the portal, created a new iview and put it in the same page with a Result Set iview. During testing when i rise the event form the custom iview, the standard Result Set catch this event but instead of update it gives the following error:
Error occurred: Error performing search. com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: Illegal value for parameter, com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: Illegal value for parameter (see log for details)
In SDN there is a thread with the same problem (Search Standard iView + Search Custom iView) which is not solved.
Can somebody help me ?

but not any resultset or Current Search on page is catching this search.
please provide which options must be set made for views on page so that result set to be updated,

Print functionality in MDM Standard Business Packages iViews

Hi Experts,
I have successfully connected MDM repository and EP and created system objects and system aliases and suitable user mapping. Now I am having a page with 5 iViews - Text Search, PickList search, Hierarchy search, Resultset and ItemDetails.
The requirement is to have a print button in the page which when, clicked will generate a user friendly (preferrably a PDF) page and will allow the user to take a print out of the resulting PDF page generated.
I have gone through the following links

To be more specific, I am still not sure how to add a custom button and action to a standard iView - the deployed portal content is not a Web Dynpro application =, although I am not very sure what exactly is it.

Question 1: How to add default search criteria to Search iViews in
MDM Portal Business Package
Ans. You can make use of Named Searches. Open the Data Manager Create a entry in the Named Search table, select the desired Supplier as a search criteria and save the search in the Named Search created and assign this Named Search to the user in MDM Console. Now use this user while performing User Mapping step. This will limit the Records to the search criteria of the named search and whenever you create new records satisfying the search criteria, it will get added to named search automatically.

Custom Search iView - Portal Runtime Error when in role

Hello,
I have created a custom Search iView based on a standard Search iView, but I have some problems with it.
When this iView is placed inside a page and in the role and when it is being used (eg. user clicks Search), Portal Runtime exception occurs.
Additional information: Exception during PageProcessorComponent.doContent()
When I display this iView in preview mode, everything is fine, there is no errors.
Also when this iView is being accessed through URLiView everything is fine too.
So I think perhaps the problem lies somewhere in the portalapp.xml of this search iview.
Here are the steps which I followed to create a custom search iView:
1. I've imported the following par file: com.sap.km.cm.par.bak and created a project.
2. The project name is: mycompany.km.cm.
2. I've modified propertyapp.xml file so that the "basicsearch" and "search" components have some additional properties.
3. I've exported a par (mycompany.km.cm.par) and deployed it on the server.
4. I've created a search iView based on this par and put it inside a page and a role.
Maybe I'm missing something, maybe there are some additional steps which should be made, for example SecurityArea property in portalapp.xml file or something similar.
Help is very welcome cause I'm stuck with this.
The new properties are: HelpIViewPathToCall, "TagCloudIViewPathToCall, SearchIViewPath,KnowledgeBaseIndexes

MDM search text iView --when searchnode it should displayall parents&childs

Hi all
I have create one page & added three iViews to that page. one is MDM search text iView second is resultset iView & third is Itemdetails iView.
actually my requirement is when i search for any node in the search text iView then it has to display all the parents & child nodes of that search node. for example when i search for node india it has to all parent & all child nodes of the node "India".
now i am able to get all the parent nodes of node "India" in the resultset iView but i am not getting the child nodes of india like karnataka,tamilnadu etc.
now i want to display all the parents & all child nodes of the search node "India".
Please help me on this ASAP.

Hi Sunil,
This is the default behaviour which cant be changed. I tried this thing and I observed that if child node contains the search pattern then only it will display the entire path from root node till the child that contains the search text because it starts traversing from the top and moves till the leaf.
If your tree is some what looks like this then only it is possible to achieve the expected behaviour.

Error in KM search iView

Hi All,
I have created a new KM Search iView.
I saw the iView's preview and entered a document's name (giving the folder's name: /documents/myFolder).. but, i got the following error:

In Search Scope >> Show indexes, i have 3 indexes:
1)Marketing
2)marketing_external_channel_sales_tools
3)rooms_test_index
Do i have to delete these indexes, if so how?? create new ones ??

Hi,
   In order to narrow down this problem you should check:
   1. System Administrator-System Configuration->KM->
      Index Administration-> and check these indexs are working. These must be appear in green.
   2. You can create a new one, point to other folder and index. After that try to make a search using only this index.
   3. Also, you can delete the index and try to create again. Using trexadmin tool you can analize it.

Error while deletion of documents in Search iView

Dear All
I am using custom Layout set for KM Search iView. The layout set includes options for deleting the documents presented as search results.
When we delete the all the documents one by one present in search results, it works fine. But after last document is deleted, following error message is coming.

Exception Class: class.java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException
Exception Message: Index=0; Size=0</b>
Please help to resolve it.

I assume that you have Excel installed in your computer.
So, I think that this error is a problem with your Internet Explorer configuration.
Try to open them with IE 32 bits.

what do you mean by 'change the layout of the standard properties'?
What you can do is change the properties that are displayed. Have a look at this: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cc/f4e77ddef1244380b06fee5f8b892a/frameset.htm and the description for 'predefined properties'

KM search iview Error

Hi everybody:
I'm trying to create a KM Search iview in EP. I already have the index to a file system repository. I have create the search component set and search option set too.
The problem is when im going to configure the km search iview options, the option so set the search option set doesn't appear. When i click on preview it show me the window without option and "Service type" write in.
In portal version i have
J2EE Engine 6.40 PatchLevel 98256.313
Portal 6.0.14.0.0
and KM version doesn't appear.
Please help me. tnks

Content Administration->Portal Content->New Iview->Iview Template->choose
->km search iview, after create it you choose:
Property Category: Show all
you should see among other things
Search Component Set
Search Options Set

Hide or Remove OCI Check Box column from Standard MDM Result Set iview

Hi,
Can we hide or remove the OCI Check box column from the Standard MDM Result set ivew?
Though i have made OCI disabled, I dont want to display the check boxes along with the product list.
Can you please help?

Hi Arun,
If you are talking about the very first check box, then that is not related to OCI. Use of check box is to anable multiple item selection which can be used adding the records in the workflow, for comparison etc.
