Error in synching

When I attempt to sync my mini (to my computer running Windows XP), after a hundred or so songs an error message comes up saying that the attempt to copy to disk failed because the disk "could not be read from or written to." What is the problem and can it be fixed?

Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting page? It may be of some help: "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod

  • 800w error when synching (exchange server?)

    Hello,
Bought an 800w but haven't been able to synch properly since initially setting up the device. I get the following error when synching:
"The server could not be reached.  This can be caused by temporary network conditions."
Googled for solutions and came to the conclusion that the phone and/or PC thinks I'm on an exchange server as if I were at work. However, this is my home PC and it is not networked (except for wireless internet).
I'm thinking this is simply a settings error, but I don't know how to fix it. Any ideas?
    Much appreciated!

Is the error when you sync "over the air" or when you connect to your PC? What kind of email do you have set up?

  • File not Found error when synching Ipod

I have a fairly new Ipod and synced successfully for months, but now iTunes says it cant synch because of a "File not Found error" (no error number or other clues). I'm running the latest iTines and Ipod software, and I've reset USB drivers but still no luck. I cant reset the iPod itself becase I then got a "1418 error", which is why I then reset USB. I'm stuck, has anyone seen this before?
The Ipod itself plays fine and Itunes recgnises it OK, albeit very slowly, even thought I'm using USB 2.
One other piece of info; when this first happened, the sync must have first deleted the songs I no longer wanted, prior to unsuccesfully adding new ones. Those old songs show up on the iPod but are skipped when I try to play them.

Its on the same thread as this one ("connecting iPod nano (second Generation ) to Windows"). Scroll through the authors, you will find it.

  • Blue Screen Error after Synching

I had Blackberry Desktop Manager 7 installed on my WIndows XP machine...I have been getting Blue screen errors frequently after my  Outlook is synched wiht the device..I was on BDM 6 prior to this and used to consistently get Blue Screen Errors. I used to think there was some other issue with the laptop until recently when I got a new one and I installed The desktop manager.
Once i realised that, I uninstalled the Software from my desktop yesterday but I read a lot of blogs that said that the BSOD will continue to come as your normal uninstalls are incomplete..Could you let me know how this can be fixed? Do you have a stable version of the desktop manger that doesnt give a BSOD?
I need to sync my device with Outlook everyday..and I cannot afford BSOD's everyday..

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
BSOD's are actually more rare of a problem, from what I've seen, and often indicate something more core wrong with the actual PC, Windows installation, or something else...and the RIM Desktop Software is simply revealing this deeper flaw rather than being the cause of it. In the worst case scenarios, I've actually heard of folks doing a clean rebuild of their PC (e.g., reinstalling Windows from scratch) and that rectifying the problem.
    Ohhh...one last thing:

FYI -- From the wording, I suspect you are misunderstanding the purpose of these forums. This is a user-to-user community, not a user-to/from-RIM channel for any communication whatsoever. So, by "Do You", you are actually asking that of other users, "out there", just like you who happen to be volunteering time to help others out.

  • Error: cannot synch ipad/ipod due to software not being installed?

    Hey community!
I've been having this problem synching both my iPod touch and iPad to iTunes (running on a recent Windows 7 machine). I kept getting the error message stating that I didn't have the correct 64bit version of iTunes installed. With a little help from user b noir down at this discussion thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20296011#20296011 , I've been able to connect both iPad and iPod without having iTunes giving the eroor again.
But, iTunes shows neither of these, both in the basic musiclist and in the preferences-tab.
The devices don't appear in the 'my computer'-window, but in the device manager of win7 they are listed as usb-controllers: both always named 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver'. The usb-icon left of their name has this yellow exclamation sign (suggesting an error i presume) but when rightclicking and checking all details, nothing is mentioned about possibles faults.
Basically I'm stuck and really need some help on this matter.
In the installation-forum I've already been helped up untill this point (see this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20296011#20296011 ).
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance!

I read in another discussion concerning the same problem that reinstalling the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi alone would do the trick, but all I get when I open that msi is this:
"A later version of Apple Mobile Device Suppor' is already installed on the computer."
That's a rarer one. (That sort of trouble more commonly hits different .msi files in the iTunes installer bundle.)
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Mobile Device Support entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another AMDS install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Error (-50) synching Aperture photos to iPhone

    Hi,
iTunes seems chronically unable to synch some of my Aperture photos to my iPhone. This is not universal, but it happens consistently if I include certain albums in the list to be synched.
Basically, the synch proceeds as normal, with the iTunes status saying "synching photo X of Y" with X counting up, but after a while, it stops, generates a popup and none of the photos appear to have synched. The popup error says "The iPhone MikesIPhone cannot be synched. An unknown error has occurred (-50)." A message is also written to a console that says:
    6/28/11 11:26:27.403 AM com.apple.usbmuxd: MuxSendToClient send failed for 0xf-3315a3c0884bb37651fb55ab4a70721a40ac329d@0xfa250000:65438->0x1003296f0-iTun es/com.apple.iTunes:5644: 32 - Broken pipe
Any ideas how to fix this? I've tried "Generating Previews" in Aperture for all of the photos in the offending album, but this does not help. (Note that the photos sync fine with an old-style Apple TV.) I feel like the iPhone-downscaled cache of the image must be corrupted somehow, but I don't know how to force it to be rebuilt without deleting/reimporting the photos (and thereby losing all of my edits and metadata, etc.)
    Thanks,
    Mike

I'm having the same issue. It appears to be a problem in Aperture because the iPhone will sync normally if I select iPhoto in the Sync Photos from menu in iTunes (or if I stop syncing photos altogether).
I read on another thread about deleting the iPod Photo cache, so I did that, but it didn't have any effect on this problem.
This issue only recently started on my machine, and I can't recall doing or changing anything that might have induced the problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Phil

  • Microsoft C++ Runtime Error when synching Q5 to Outlook 2007 calendar

Attempting to synch my Q5 to Outlook 2007 calendar I get an error message that states: <Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
Program:ResearchinMotion\BlackberryLlink\BlackBerryLink.exe. The app has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the app's support team for more info.>
I am running Windows XP and Office Professional 2007.
I have had the phone for more than a year and only recently has this problem developed. I have uninstalled BlackBerryLink from my programs and my downloads and re-installed it 3 times. Each time I attempt to synch it takes 19-22 minutes "Getting status information from BlackBerry Calendar " before the the error message appears. I have checked and the only calendars synching are Home and BBLink.
@BlackBerryHelp sent me to a knowledge base article blck.by/1wEvCts  on Lotus Notes even after I explained 3 times that I was using Outlook not Lotus Notes. Then they told me to contact "Windows".
So far I have missed 1 very important meeting because the appointment was not in my phone. Please help! I love my BB Q5 and I REALLY need my calendars to synch!!!

Options are limited.  If you call Microsoft at 1 (800) 642-7676 I think they will tell you the same thing.  I'm not sure what to suggest since Windows XP is no longer supported and that runtime could be out of date.

  • TS4062 I get an error message- synching failed to start. What do I do now?

I get an error message about synching failed to start. How can this be fixed?

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
    - Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
    - Then try on another computer

  • Version 2.0 is not a compatible version error with synch manager

i've build a synch plugin and i put the dll files in the plug in directory.
when im running the synch plugin and im looking through the logs i get the following error "Version 2.0 is not a compatible version."
i think the problem could happen because im using visual studio and i think it compiles standard with framework 2.0 and im guessing synch manager need framework 1.1. but im not sure?
can anyone help me with this problem??
    kind regards,
    C. Oude Luttikhuis

yes that error message is actually coming from the .Net Framework you can find more on it <a href="http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=521514&SiteID=1">here</a>
For a netpoint 5.9 plugin it would need to be compiled in .Net 1.1, if you only have MS Visual Studio 2005 you might want to look into MSBee which will allow you to compile to 1.1 (but requires a higher developer knowledge) or i know that <a href="http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx">SharpDevelop</a> is a free IDE that will compile to 1.1 code.

  • For months, now, I continually get the message "Synch encountered an error while synching: Unknown error. Synch will automatically retry this action." This happens on both my desktop and laptop machines.

How do I know if my bookmarks are ever getting synched?

There was a server out last week. see below. now everything works great. thanks for the follow up.

  • Getting error while synching to Windows XP? Here's your ANSWER! Easy fix...

    New! I HAVE THE ANSWER!!!

I FINALLY found a tech support number. I hope I can explain the answer thoroughly...
First, connect your Ipod to your PC.
Then, WATCH the screen at the top of ITunes CAREFULLY. (This is the small white window that shows songs copying and flashes - "Synching Ipod...Do Not Disconnect."
IMMEDIATELY before you get the error message, you will see the songs that are uploading. The last song you see IMMEDIATELY before the error message is a corrupted song file. Therefore; this song file is jamming the synching process and will continue to shut you out of the system.
Once the error message appears, go under your song lists. Find the corrupted song, right click on it and DELETE the file.
After deleting the corrupted file, choose "Synch Ipod" under the FILE menu.
This should handle the problem. It fixed mine immediately. Keep in mind, you may have more than one corrupted file so you will need to watch the screen to make sure...

  • Error while synching PDA with server

    Hello,
Before I can load some CRM applications on to my PDA, I am trying to synch my PDA with the server.
When I synchronized I got the device ID and also the message that synch has started successfully. But when I go in the NWA of the server ( on my laptop) and search this device ID it shows the following error

Does anyone know what could be wrong here?

  • Repeated error when synching pearl - calender won't load

My Pearl is having a meltdown.  Everyone time I try to synch the calender gives me an error message at exactly the same spot - record 128 of 262.  It has also randomly deleted several past years of appointments, and when I tried to restore has wiped out appointments on my Pearl but not on my Outlook.  I tried to over-write from Outlook onto my Pearl; no luck.  I tried to reinstall the software; no luck.  I'm ready to chuck it out the window!

Hi Gyro gyrl and welcome to the forums!
What is the error message do you get?
    What software did you reinstall?
Which way is the sync running when it fails:
    1) from device to Desktop
    2) from desktop to device?
If it's 1 You have a corrupt entry in the device calendar
If it's 2 You have a corrupt entry in the Outlook calendar.
Let me know the answer to the questions,
    Thanks

  • Error: "LDAP Synch status is enabled. Cannot add users through BAT."

In 10.x it looks like Cisco has disallowed user imports (via BAT) into LDAP-integrated systems.  Has anyone else run into this?  Below is the error I'm receiving in the Job Status log file.  The error implies that "it's a feature, not a bug".  How are large companies supposed to import new phones/users when they open new branches or do a phone refresh?  Breaking LDAP to do the import isn't a option because you have to blow away your LDAP directory config to do so - not to mention people wouldn't be able to log into Jabber or their user pages while it was broken.  I'm hoping someone has a workaround or has already spoken with TAC about this.
    Failure Details :
Device Name/User ID Error Code Error Description
LDAP Synch status is enabled. Cannot add users through BAT.
    Result Summary :
    INSERT for 0 PHONES passed.
    INSERT for 5 PHONES failed.
    INSERT for 0 USERS passed.
    INSERT for 5 USERS failed.

So if a company has a large CUCM deployment and adds another branch (let's say 100 phones/users), I would have to go user by user and do the phone associations, profile associations, primary extensions, etc 100 times?
Is there a better way that I'm missing?  That just doesn't seem logical.  In previous versions (I'm not sure about 6.x in the link.  I started with 7.x) I could have sworn that I could import from BAT even if LDAP was integrated.  I would get an error and only the non-LDAP fields would get changed, but the changes, associations, etc. would still go through.

  • Error 209 synching

Help! New (refurbished) ipod 60 gig with video - i presume it's 5th gen. Works fine but it won't transfer my videos to the ipod. It just says 'error 209' and gives up transferring video but transfers music and pics just fine. Anyone have any ideas?

solved it, in case anyone is interested and looking for an answer. The videos were not playable on the ipod so I used a programme downloaded from the apple website - iSquint - to convert them. I then got the message for my photos, but I found if I synch my entire picture folder instead of just iPhoto it worked fine for some reason.

  • Error in Synch

What is error 1432? I recently reformatted my system. I though it will fix it. Itunes freezes during synch with my ipod classic. I love my music collection (19GB) because some of them are rare to find now. I've already given away most of my cd's. The problem is still freezes near the end of it. I've restoring ipod to factory settings but still the same error. Once it freezes you can't eject the ipod you need to manually disconnect the usb from the port to let it run again. Is there anyone out there that can help? Please...
