Error in syncing Ipod Nano with windows XP

Some of the songs get loaded to the Ipod then I have an error window pop up that says:
Attempting to copy to the disk "ipod" failed. An unknown error occured (-69)
Does anyone know whats going on?
I've been able to sucessfully load all the songs on another computer to my ipod. So I know theres something wrong with itunes. In light of that, I removed Itunes and tried to download it again. The same window appears saying theres a error (-69)

  • Sync ipod nano with a new computer

My hard drive in my MacBook crashed and I now have a new computer. I am trying to sync my ipod nano with iTunes but i get a message stating that the content on my ipod will be replaced with the songs and playlists from my iTunes library (which is nothing). I want to get all my songs, playlists, from my ipod onto my computer. Help!!!

See if there are instructions for what you want to do in the iPod nano (5th generation) - User Guide, check Knowledge Base, iPod Nano Support or call U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273).

  • Sync iPod Nano with iPad2

I bought my mom an iPad2 last year because she doesn't have a computer (WAY too complicated for her) and I recently gave her my old iPod Nano 5G. I was wondering if there is a way for her to sync the Nano with her iPad2. Anyone know?

No, not possible.  Nanda can only be synced with iTunes on a computer.

  • ITunes displays -48 error message when syncing iPod Nano on Windows XP

My girlfriend's mom's iPod Nano ran out of charge while jogging so she decided to charge it on her daughter's iHome. The next day she went to use her iPod but it was totally empty of all music and files. When she tried to sync it to iTunes, she received an eror message stating, "An unknown error has occurred (-48)" from iTunes and a Windows message stating that some iPod folder/file was corrupted.
If anyone receives such a message, I was able to correct it by:
-Plugging in your iPod to your PC
    -Ignore the error messages
    -Go to My Computer
-Find your iPod's drive letter (ie. G:)
-Right-click on it and select Properties
-Go to Tools Tab >Error-checking and select Check Now
You should be able to sync your iPod as before. I do not claim to be an expert so be warned that it may not work for you. Good luck!

    Hey ermides,
Thanks for the question. The following resource provides information if you are receiving a -50 error message when syncing:

  • ITunes 9.0.2 locks trying to sync iPod nano under Windows 7 Enterprise x64

I've been fighting this thing for a couple weeks now and it's getting to be very frustrating. I wanted to sync some new music purchases onto my various iPods, but ended up with a 5G iPod Video with just a couple songs on it and which refused to sync. It had been fine before I tried to sync it, with about 45GB of music on it, but now I couldn't get it to work at all. I formatted it, I ran chkdsk, I restored it, but nothing I did would make it sync. I thought the hard drive was fried, so I ordered a new 160GB Classic. After I got it, I found that it did the same thing! iTunes would simply hang trying to sync to it and it would never get more than a couple songs on there before giving up.
What it would do is spin for a couple minutes and then lock up completely. If it was playing a song, it would finish the song but then not go to the next one and just stop. I couldn't bring it up, I couldn't click on it, I couldn't close it. I couldn't even end the task in Task Manager. Even ejecting the drive in Windows didn't make a difference. The only way to get it back was to unplug the iPod. Then iTunes would come back and I could use it again.
Finally, I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it, and then both the new Classic and the old Video were able to sync with no problems. I can't tell you how happy I am to have spent that $235 for no good reason!
So next I grabbed my 3G Nano and tried to sync it. No dice, same problem. So I tried all the same things, check for errors, format, restore. All of this was much quicker since it's only 8GB of flash instead of a 60GB hard drive, but still none of it worked. Finally I installed iTunes on my work laptop running Windows XP, imported the iTunes library from my other machine (via .xml), and waited. And waited. And waited. It takes a long time to rebuild the library from that xml file! When it was done, I plugged the Nano into the XP laptop and restored it... and it synced! Like it was nothing at all. Everything went on there quickly and with no fuss.
Now, this is the same content, my music is on a network drive. So there is no difference whatsoever in what was being synced. The only difference is the PC being used.
So, what the heck! I do need to get iTunes working on my primary machine again, as this is the machine I use. I can't depend on my work laptop to sync the Nano since I'd have to re-import the entire library every time to get the changes I've made. Is there some known issue with Windows 7 x64 and iTunes 9.0.2? This used to work just fine! Please, if anyone has any suggestions I could really use some relief.
    Thanks!!

Doublechecking something Emcee. I see you've got Windows 7 x64, so I'm assuming you've got at least 4 GB of RAM. Do you also have an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset on that PC? If so, see the following Microsoft document:
[You encounter problems when you move data over USB from a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset and at least 4GB of RAM|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972]

  • Error when connecting iPod Nano with PC

I really don't know what the problem with my Nano is. I have tried almost everything, including disabling my antivirus program, but when i try to connnect my iPod to my computer, i keep getting an error message. It says "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to reinstall the iPod's software." Can anyone help me?

    hiya!
with that error message, the best places to start are with these documents:

  • Problem syncing ipod nano with itunes after external hard disc install

Since moving the itunes library (without a hitch) to a new external drive we have had a new problem which presumably is linked! When the ipod is plugged in all seems normal at first, the ipod syncs ok, then the system hangs at that point. itunes says "syncing ipod do not disconnect" (Even though the sync icon has vanished from next to the ipod on the itunes screen)likewise the ipod says "Do not disconnect". Windows then opens a "Autoplay" window which is obviously searching for files, with the torch graphic. This continues with the computer frozen. Cancelling the autoplay, leaves it saying "Cancelling" but it doesn't. Ctrl-alt-del is required to stop it, but that causes the computre to actually require a switch off. The fault is obviously with whatever is triggering the "Autoplay", but the ipod correctly lists as drive H, it doesn't seem to be a drive letter confusion. (Unfortunately it is impossible to learn which drive the autoplay is searching, and why, and what it can't find! Is there anybody that can help, as itunes is unuseable with ipod at present. I have tried completely removing and reinstalling itunes/Quick time with no effect!

Recently I transfered my entire iTunes library over to my external HDD
How and what exactly did you transfer?
and completed all of the necessary requirements to be able to play my music back from the new folder location (i.e. changed the location in iTunes preferences and consolidated everything etc)
This should been done before you transferred anything.
Now I have gone to sync my iPod Touch with iTunes and it keeps coming up with an error
What exactly is the error and when do you see it?

  • Syncing ipod nano with itunes

Having lost a lot of my music files from itunes because of computer failure and user error(!)I now have more songs on my ipod nano than appear in my itunes library. If I attempt to sync with itunes now, will it delete any songs in the ipod that are no longer showing in the itunes library/list? I would like to add a few new downloads from time to time but dont want to risk losing the existing contents of my ipod...? (Is there a command to prevent itunes deleting songs in my ipod?).

Just wanted to say - "thanks very much"- to Zevoneer, for such an informative and helpful reply to my recent posting: looks like its a full time job...!
    Cheers,

  • Sync ipod Touch with Windows Live Mail

Is there a way to Sync Ipod touch's information (calendars, contacts and such) with the new Windows Live Mail through Itune 8?

    No.
Windows Live Mail stores contacts and calendar info in a database format in file with an extension of *.edb. iTunes syncs with Outlook data stored in a *.pst file.

  • Synching old ipod nano with windows 8

I have a 5th generation iPod nano and just recently purchased a new laptop with windows 8.  I was able to install the itunes program successfully and found all of my past music stored in the cloud. The new computer has been authorized to my existing itunes account.   When I purchased new music and connected my nano, neither the computer nor the itunes software recognized the nano as being attached.  It was as if the nano had never been connected.  The nano doesn't even show up as another drive or a USB device connected.  What could be the problem?  I'd really like to get the song on the nano.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
    Many thanks!

    Hi, bevelyn53.
I would recommend installing the Apple Mobile Device Support driver manually.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 in the article below.

  • Syncing iPod Nano with Outlook 2003

Hi folks! I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have 2 8 gig 3rd generation nanos (mine and the wifes) which are way cool. I use to have a HP iPaq handheld which I used to play music and carry my scedule and contacts on. However ther is very little support for this old device and I went to the iPod thinking it wouls eassily sync to Outlook 2003 on my HP Vista machine. I worked at first although it woulds only sync select few appointments on my calendar but my contacts were initialy OK. I got it to function OK on both iPods as my wife and I need to know each other's scedules and we use the same contact list.
But recently I have been having issues with the sync as it routinely gives the error message: "iTunes failed to sync with Outlook calendars (or contacts) please log out of windows and log back in" When I log back on my calendar and contacts lus is gone on one of the iPods and will not sync back short on resetting the unit. So far the list will remain on my wifes unit but I am SOL. Anny advice would be appreciated

This isn't going to help but I want to add that my 3G Nano has similar issues. I use Outlook 2007 and it syncs just fine, no errors. Problem is that none of my contacts nor calendar items are sync'd. I have selected Outlook in iTunes CONTACTS tab as the source to sync from too.

  • Any App that will bi-directionally sync iPod Touch with Windows Desktop Outlook 2010 Tasks?

    Hi All
    iPod Touch 3rd gen iOS v 5.1.1
    iTunes (for Windows) v 10.7.0.21
Windows 7 32 bit Desktop PC
Outlook 2010 32 bit with POP3 mail server
Appigo ToDo app on iPod Touch
    I reside in Canada
I have been using Appigo's ToDo Task Manager app on my Touch for almost 3 years now. With their Appgio Sync conduit, I have been able to seemlessly bi-directionally sync between the Touch and Outlook Tasks on my Desktop. Now Appigo is no longer going to support Appigo Sync. I can keep using this sync conduit BUT I will no longer be able to update my Touch's ToDo app (eventually that will be a problem).
I DO NOT use iCloud and do NOT wish to use iCloud. I also do not wish to keep my tasks (which do contain confidential information) on anyone else's cloud server. Hence, I need the ability to direct sync between my Touch and my desktop.
I've been searching the web and the App Store looking for either a way to keep using ToDo with another sync method, OR another app that will allow syncing between the it on the Touch and my Desktop.
I don't care about syncing emails since they get downloaded on my Touch regardless. I don't care about syncing Calendars and Contacts since that happens whenever I sync my Touch to iTunes.  Just Outlook Tasks that need to be synced. I also don't care for Reminders - seems like a waste of space IMHO.
I can't be the only person on the planet that doesn't want to use a cloud server, doesn't have an email exchange server and wants to keep tasks in both handheld device and desktop in sync. Please, please, please, any and all suggestions and help will be most appreciated!! IF I need to go to iOS v 6+, then I will need to purchase a new iPod Touch; a huge expense when the Touch I have is still working fine (but if one has to, one has to).
    Thanks a bunch
    barb

I'm in a similar position. Just recently migrated to iPhone from Blackberry (and liking it) but would only do so after confirming that I could sync Outlook tasks to the iPhone. Using ToDo and Appigo sync was the solution and it has worked fine. And I deal with Calendar and Contacts in a similar fashion as you.
I'm not sure I understand the options. I don't have a basic "cloud as a process objection" and cost isn't an issue. But I do want my tasks to end up synced on both my laptop (on the hard drive) and on my iPhone (and soon to come iPad). A variation on your question. Is there no way to do this?
