Error in the Data Selection - Errors in Source System RSM 340

Hey Everyone,
I'm having an issue with loading a Delta for 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR. This is the second night it has happened, where I get the error "Error in the Data Selection". This error happens in the EXTRACTION part of the Monitor. And, we cannot run another Delta to see if it'll work, we have to delete the old Delta Init, and run a new one. The other error is "Errors in Source System - RSM340". That's as much it gives.
Could anyone suggest why this would be happening? I checked RSA3 in R/3, and no errors on the extraction. I also checked sm37 against the job that loads that data, and it completed successfully. I honestly don't think there's an issue with the data. We cannot have this happen often, and I just need to know if this is something that can be corrected.

There is nothing wrong with the TID's or anything like that. There is also no selection criteria in the infopackage.
When the Delta fails, the error occurs under EXTRACTION in the monitor. It seems to be successful under TRANSFER and PROCESSING in the monitor, which I find strange. Also, I run a new Delta Init with Data Transfer, and that works just fine.
So, I'm not sure what it could be?

CO-PA Delta load - Errors in source system RSM 340

Hi,
We are facing a unique error when we do a CO-PA delta load. The error message is as follows:
"Errors in source system RSM 340,The selected data source is locked by another process RD 156"
The load completes successfully with 0 delta records fetched. When we re - trigger this after sometime, the load goes through.
Can anyone explain as to why this issue occurs ? Basically, looking at the root cause.
We are pulling data from CE1XXXX table, the delta for which is pulled into BW with the setting of 30 minutes safety delta. Just wanted to understand how is it that in this scenario we are faced with a lock issue ? It is also confirmed that while the delta load is initiated the transactions are being passed into the CE1XXXX table.

caller 09 error mainly because of source(target system) and destination(bw system) not configured correctly.
i think you get the error message as follows. file is in the client workstation as like.
better you contact basis people. they will resolve this.

Urgent Help! Errors in source system(RSM 340)

Need urgent help. Issue in production.
I added fields to the COPA datasource, by changing the operating concern. I recreated the datasource with the same name replicated into BW & ran delta again. The whole procedure worked fine in Dev & Quality but in production it gives me the below error. I thought its a delta issue so I deleted the data & try reload but still same issue. Below is the error. I checked the connection with R3. its an ok. All other loads work fine. Before deleting delta, it gives below error & when you rerun, it finishes with zero records. I also tried activating update, transfer & ods & cube in BW. I also asked functional guy to check operating concern & its active. kindly help

In enhancement after doing the R/3 stuff, when we are able to see the data in Tcode RSA3 in R/3 only?
Give the detail for all types of data source and for all types of loads.
eg: Std data source for deltaload, Generic data source for full load.....etc...

I am doing enhancement for datasource '2LIS_05_QVUDN'.
I complited the R/3 stuff and check the data for enhanced fields in RSA3...it's giving run timeout run time error.
Then I just ignore that error and I complited BW stuff successfully....after compliting BW stuff I am able to see the data in RSA3 in R/3.
So my question is, What is the root cause for this....?
When we are able to see the data in RSA3 in source system.?
please give me details for all types of datasource and all types of loads so that it will helps a lot for me in future.

Modeling the Data model when multiple source systems

Hi gurus,
i have a scenario where i am getting data from multiple source systems all R/3 but from different locatins.
my doubt is if i have to do reporting on the data available.
1. do i have to build seperate infocubes for each source systems or build seperate data designs for each source system .
2. How can i consolidate the different source sytems data into one and report sensibly as well as without loosing the source system identification.

thanks for your focus, ya i am also thinking of have a flexible solution where in i can do it easily as well as we don't have much of complexcity, but wanted to try different options as well so that we can go for best one.
I thought of multiprovider at first when RafB suggested, and i agree with you as well Lilly, that data volume will be a problem, so keeping all this in view i want to build a solution where in it will be sensible as well as not confusing in reports ( i mean clear and readable reports)

Error in loading data into PSA from source system.

Good morning .
I am trying to load data from SRM source system into BI system.When I execute infopackage,the data is not loaded into PSA and status of the process immediately becomes yellow.After sometime it gets timed out and converts to RED.When I checked the error documentation I found that the iDOCS response was not received from the source system.Detailed error is as below.

There are idocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of BI.
Further Analysis
Check the TRFC log
you can access this log using the wizard OR menu path "Environment > Transact. RFC> In the source system
However,I was not able to navigate to this path.I think if I can navigate to this path,I can manually push IDOCS from source system to BI system.

Check the DataSource in RSA3, if it is working fine and able to see the data in RSA3, there is no problem in DS level, then check the Mappings and any routines in BW for that DS, if this is also fine then check the below options.
See Dumps in ST22, SM21 also.
Check RFC Connection between ECC and BW systems, i.e. RSA1-->Source System->Right Click on Source system and Check.
You must have the following profiles to BWREMOTE or ALEREMOTE users.So add it. Bcoz either of these two users will use in background to get extract the data from ECC, so add these profiels in BW.
S_BI-WHM_RFC, S_BI-WHM_SPC, S_BI-WX_RFC
And also check the following things.
1.Connections from BW to ECC and ECC to BW in SM59
2.Check Port,Partner Profiles,and Message Types in WE20 in ECC & BW.
3.Check Dumps in ST22, and SM21.
4.If Idocs are stuck i.e see the OLTP Idoc numbers in RSMO Screen in (BW) detials tab see in bottom, you can see OLTP Idoc number and take the Idoc numbers and then goto to ECC see the status in WE05 or WE02, if error then check the log else goto to BD87 in ECC and give the Idoc numbers and execute manually and see in RSMO and refresh.
5.Check the LUWs struck in SM58,User Name = * (star) and run it and see Strucked LUWs and select our LUW and execute manually and see in RSMO in BW.

IDOC getting struck at TRFC (SM58)
1.Reorg of table (ARFCSSTATE )
2.Incraesing the resources in the system (no of processes and memory ) , as this issue happens owing to this.
Source system tries to send TRFC to target and if there are no WP's available it will come to Transaction Recorded state, and form here it will not try to send this TRFC.So you have to execute this manually.
Also we can increase the timeout parameter so that it can try few more times to send before actually it comes to recorded state.

Error in Previewing data from a UD Source System

I have created a data source from a UD Source System; however, when I preview data, I am prompted by this message:
"Inbound processing of data package 000001 finished"
There is no error, but there is also no data preview that is displayed.

Hi,
sampling is out of a directory placed on the CLIENT. On runtime the directory must be placed on the SERVER.
So you must have two locations: one for sampling (*local) and one for (*remote) and before deployment you must switch from _local to _remote.
The _remote location points to a directory on the SERVER, don't forget to grant read/write privileges to the oracle user on the file system.

Hi,
Why your using conversion routine at info pack level?
Actually conversion routine already defined for info object 0MATERIAL, general tab.
at info pack level, remove conversion routine MATN1 and don't give any selections.
First try to run data source at source system RSA3. if it works then later you can trigger at info pack level without any selections.

Please guide us to fix the issue

It´s very difficult to help you without knowing
- what is going to be transferred
- where you get this error
- system configuration
- actual memory usage
- operating system
- database and configuration etc. etc.etc. etc.
I suggest you open an OSS call and let the support have a look on your system. It´s much easier if one has system access to find out the cause for that problem.

C4180 error:the data area passed to a system call is too small

C4180 Photosmart printer. Loaded official HP driver from the web site for this all in one.
OS is windows 8.1 pro 32bit.
After any print command , in my case a test print the following windows error.
"The data area passed to a system call is too small".
Removed driver and reinstalled, same problem.
Anybody had the same problem, more to the point what is the cause.

You have Windows 8.1, you updated the drivers for the PS C4180, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver with no success.
I would like you to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.
Does the PSDR find any problems with the software and drivers, any conflicts?

"The data area passed to a system call is too small" NFS client Windows 2008 R2 SP1

I need to map a Hyper-V virtual windows server to a UNIX folder, but when i made de mapping and tried to navigate in to the mapped unit and shows me:
"The data area passed to a system call is too small"
I tried too many things like adding a registry key (and windows 2008 r2 already has)
Use a similar account between Unix and Windows domain
I done the steps in the document:

And nothing, this is just frustrating, also I disabled the firewall in the virtual machine and the host server.
I have a Windows 2008 Domain R2 functionality and the virtual machine is Windows 2008 R2 too.

AIX 5.1 x86

Change how your NFS servers export the NFS shares and make them allow connections from high ports.

Add UseReservedPorts DWORD value under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Client for NFS\CurrentVersion\Default and set it to 1. Restart the Client for NFS service to allow

i am facing Problem while extracting data to Biw System from SAP R/3 system

The delta wil take the Last init selection for loading data in to the BW...
Did u check the IP at the Update tab is it the correct delta only.. or its a full..
better to go to the RSA3 and check the extractor in the Delta mode .. if u give ur delta mode it automatically takes the selction options.. so please try in RSA3..

If the source system is a Client Workstation, then it is possible that the file that you wanted to load was being edited at the time of the data request. Make sure that the file is in the specified directory, that it is not being processed at the moment, and restart the request.

If i do Repeat Delta, then it is working fine.
As it is a daily load, manually repeating the load from the past 10 days.
Have tried using program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.

Thanks for your valuable inputs, Problem is solved.
The Reason is that, there is a time difference in the r/3 system and bi system.
The tolerable time differene shud be only 60 seconds.
Basis guys took down time at the OS level and hav made the timers sync.....
The problem is on the source system GNP time differences
persists, which can cause the problem with delta upload .
Universal Time Coordinated UTC....: 1291187626
Date and time of database.........: 01.12.2010 12:46:59
Date and Time of R/3-Kernel.......: 01.12.2010 12:43:46
Date and Time of ABAP-Processor...: 01.12.2010 12:46:58
ABAP Time zone Setup ..............: 19800
Date and Time / local time ........: 01.12.2010 12:43:46
This leads to an exception of the delta processing, because this
tolerates a deviation of 60 seconds only (When the repeat is processed,
the "local time" in the ABAP is higher than the qrfc counter at the time when the delta was processed -> So a repeat works fine).
Please synchronize the timers like described in attached note 101726 and 741734 to eliminate the time difference .

Extraction Error: ERROR occured in the data selection

Hello everybody,
I have made configurations for the BW connectivity. Finally I was able replicate data sources from R/3 to BW. But when I try to extract the data its giving me the error. In monitor details, in extraction node its showing like "Error occured in data selection."
Its not giving me any more messages. I think the problem is with the BW connectivity configurations. Its my guess only. Is that right? But I am able to replicate my data sources.
Please help me.

Hi:
1)Try the RSA3 extractor in R/3.
2)Try simulate load in InfoPackage.
If RSA3 is good, and infopackage is giving error, then its connectivity.
Also, create another infopackage and try again just to make sure.
