i m having software version v52.0 i want to update it to v60.0 but on the device updates it is showing no updates available.and on the nokia ovi suite it is showing only applications are available for updates....please help...

You may try your luck using the NSU . If both FOTA and Nokia Suite / NSU say that no update is available then there is NO way to update it yourself. Only chance you may take is checking with your local Nokia Care whether they can do it for you ...
The reason you are not finding any update is..Availability depends on Product Code / Region ..Also, for Network locked devices, update is possible only after an approval from the Operator. Hence even if an update is released by Nokia, it need NOT be for your particular device..

Update Firmware on 5800. Username/Password require...

I want to install Google Maps on my 5800 but have the same probnlem as many users (Certificates Expired). Thus I tried to update the firmware. But I can't because it says 'username or password' is invalid and I have to type in both.
What username/password? I haven't a glue what username or password I have to use. Can someone help?

I have called T-Mobile and they told me to download the Nokia Software Updater from their website (http://www.t-mobile.de/business/mein-handy/1,15556,20345-_,00.html > got to downloads).
On this page is written: Current Version is 20.0.012
After downloading it and trying to update my firmware the NSU says my 5800 has version 11 installed and there is no newer version available. T-Mobile told me v.20 is not stable and it is not for T-Mobile users. Why do they write it on their page?
Does anybody have v.20 installed on his T-Mobile 5800? How did you do that?

While I am trying to update my Muvo slim firmware using the recovery tool it throwd up an error. And from then onwards if I am trying to power it up it won't.
If I again try to update the firmware, it throws up the error that "Unable to Write to Device: Device Time out".
I am afraid that my Muvo slim got bricked. Can you please help me in recovering the same.
PS: My PC OS is Windows XP.

On my XP system, the last time I wanted to reload the firmware, I had to remove all of my Creative software programs,?and then revert my Windows Media Player back to 0 and then use The Recovery Tool. It is a bit of a pain, but does seem to work when you are getting errors with the firmware download.

Everytime I update Firmware it errors and I have to restore.

This is getting so **** frustrating. I love my iPhone but I HATE iTunes so much. I go to upgrade firmware and then it errors, then the phone is stuck in recovery mode. So I have to restore and upgrade then reload ALL of my music, apps, and contacts. This takes HOURS!!! And also none of my stuff will be in the right order it was.
What am I doing wrong here? It's not jailbroken or anything goofy like that.

I've just gotten so used to it that I make sure to back up my phone before hand, because I know its going to crash and burn. It's just depressing to have to waste about 2-3 hours updating firmware on the darn thing.
This is the only thing I can think of though, when I used to have the old iPhone I had it jailbroken. But when the new iPhone came out there was no need anymore because the app store keeps me happy. I loaded my old profile onto the new phone though. (Contacts, appointments, music) I am wondering id that's the reason its acting weird.
I could start a whole new phone but I would have to write out all my contact info and everything. Seems like a hassle.

Try Restoring it 3 times in a row and see if that works.
If not that error can indicate one of two things: Your iPhone was at one time jailbroken, had the iOS version rolled back, or ran an unauthorized beta and if none of those things are true it is a hardware error.

When trying to update firmware on nano 3rd gen i get error -23

What is error -23 i can't seam to find anything about this... its really anoying as my ipod wont update firmware or restore... have tried deleting itunes and reinstalling etc.. even attempted on a different pc without itunes installed, IE installed itunes but still same error when trying to update to new firmware.... could someone please help me with this anoying issue.

You can try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:

Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPhone. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPhone; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken iPhone.

I have tried to update the software of my ipod of fifth generation and leaves a message that puts: failure when updating firmware. Write error in disc. Please, only it have 20 days. I need help. I have proven to put it in way disc, I have to reinstall software and nothing gives result.

jjegen seems to have differently than I. From what I see, tapping on the dialler and contacts on homescreen does nothing?
Your phone settings have had trouble. I would suggest restoring factory settings.
Go to MainMenu>green button>you will see the dialler. Type in *#7780# and enter your security code.
If that does not work:
Soft reset is *#7370# - this deletes all data on phone memory so make sure you have a backup.
OR
A hard reset (x6, 5800 and 5230 only) is done by the following (warning, this deletes all data on your phone):
1.) Turn off the phone and remove battery for 5min
2.) Reinsert battery
3.) Press and hold the green, red and camera buttons. DO NOT LET GO.
4.) While holding the three buttons, press the power key to boot the phone up.
5.) Keep on pressing until you see the country selection screen.
A correctly done hard reset would show you that everything on the phone (contacts, messages, calendar entries, etc) would be deleted. So it is advisable to back them up. Upon restoration, do not restore settings or files if possible.

Sometimes it's better to read the entries here first, before posting *g*.
Solution is very easy. Remove battery from Mega-Stick. Connect to USB while holding the PLAY-Button. Windows will find now a device called like recoverybla. Install the driver from the original MSI-CD. Now you can do a upgrade with a new firmware ... And ... it works ...

OK, so the firmware is the same as mine, and yet Apple Support offered this EFI and SMC update packages, which should give a message that our computers are updated.
However, the update packages fail to run.
Did Apple neglect to give the correct update for the mid-2012 issue of MacBook Pro 13-inch? I have the i7 Intel processor, instead of the i5, and I was sold this unit as having two processors, but the System info only lists a single processor.
Is one of the problems with Intel-based MacBook Pro units that the integration wasn't without bugs that cause processor hang when running the OS Lion, even with updates to 10.7.5?
Shouldn't the EFI and SMC updaters run on these machines as stated in the Apple Support article?
What will Apple do for these customers?

Kernel panics after updating firmware

Kernel panics began at startup after updating firmware about 2 weeks ago. Went through the KP repair routines prescribed by thexlab.com. Found no problems with the hard drive, permissions, etc. Did erase and install (with Leopard OS dvd bought from best buy) after archiving files to external HD and was able to startup normally. Updated OS to 10.5.7, along with several other items (iTunes was one of them). Put previously copied files (mostly iTunes). The computer ran successfully for a few days and then started getting KP's at startup again. Did another erase and install. Had success. Loaded iLife and Office 08 to have something to try to test the machine with. Shut down the computer and restarted successfully. I had forgotten I had not tested the RAM so downloaded Memtest. Tried to run it but the computer froze half way through the test. Did a hard shutdown, then tried to restart normally and got the KP again at startup. Here is the panic log:

Was able to start up in safe mode and ran memtest again, this time having success and finding no RAM problems from the single run of Memtest. Shut down and restarted successfully.
Turned the computer off for the night and just restarted it successfully about 24 hours later, and it is still running.
I presently have about 130GB of free space on my HD. I don't have any peripherals attached. The computer gets fairly warm at times but certainly not excessively.
Can anyone decipher my KP log and see if there is a fixable problem?

Must update firmware before installing OSX Tiger on OS9

I'm trying to bring an iMac G3 with OS9 to life. It's brand new, never been used before, and doesn't yet have internet. I will get internet (Airport Card) soon, but first have a software update problem.
After starting the iMac, I have inserted the install DVD for Tiger. The computer says it must restart to install, and when it restarts, the computer says it must update firmware before installing. I have to choose a system with which it will start up and my choices are:
OS9: Hard Drive
OSX: Install DVD
My 3rd option searches for a location, and ends up restarting in OS9.
Every option either results in the inevitable error message that the firmware needs updating or using the OS9 environment.
I read Apple support saying that firmware needs to be updated to fix this problem. Support suggests updating firmware from the OSX install DVD, but I haven't found such updates on the DVD, and need to overcome the firmware problem.
Please help, I am anxious to use my computer!

In order to install the firmware update, the machine must be booted to OS 9 on its internal hard drive. It's a good idea to have no external devices connected when you do it, other than the keyboard and mouse. If you can, print out the ReadMe that accompanies the update.
