  • Error while upgrading filesystem 0.8-9 - 2007.08-1

Ran pacman -Syu today (as I do every day) and while it was upgrading the filesystem package I got the following output:

Should I be worried? To me it just looks like it was trying to create an already existing directory and bailed out. Looking at the filelist of filesystem reveals no files in that directroy so I don't think there is any problem, or is there?

While you wait for an update to pacman, you could do the following:
    * uninstall any packages that have put files in /usr/var
    * add the following line to /etc/fstab
    /var /usr/var none bind 0 0
    * mount /usr/var
    * reinstall the packages from step 1.
Note that pacman will still give you errors when updating the filesystem package, something along the lines of "could not extract /usr/var, mountpoint busy", but this isn't anything to worry about.

    CJS-20060 error when upgrading SAP WEBAS640 SPS12
Posted: Oct 20, 2005 10:21 AM        Reply      E-mail this post
    Hi,
I am trying to upgrade my current EP6.0 SPS10 environment to SPS12. But right now, I can't even get the sapinst to go past this one error after entering the path to the Java Cryptography Extension. After entering the path and clicking next, I get the following error message.
    ERROR 2005-10-20 09:45:09
CJS-20060 <html>You entered the instance number 0 on host tp1 for the JC instance.<p>In the SAP system TP1, an JC instance exists already with the instance number 00 on host wsawd03q.</html>
We are currently running Portal on an HA Environment. The SCS instance was installed on host sapgrp. The CI instance was installed on wsawd03q. I am currently upgrading the CI instance. I've tried using the SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME but it did not work and I don't believe its relevant because my CI does not use a virtual host name.
Please assist with this issue. Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards,
    Kiet Tran

    Hi,
This is a known problem which I think will be fixed in future versions of sapinst.
What you need to do is to move the profile files of the other system from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profiles , to a temporary location untill the installation starts. You can then start the installation and move the files back at the same time.
Basically, sapinst doesn't truely realize that you are installing on a virtual host, and therefore believes there is a conflict
PS you must use the SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME parameter if you have a virtual host.
    Cheers

"Discount deviates from authorised ranges (sales oreder-discount%for document) [message 439-15] pls make it as soon as possible an i will be thankful to those guys .

    Hello Jenny,
You may check by supreuser account first to see if you got the same error.  If not, it probably just related to user authorization.  If yes, it must be a bug.

  • Error while upgrading EP 7.0 SP6 to SP9 (in java stack)

    Dear All,
    We have EP 7.0 with SP 6 , OS = Win2k3 SP2, DB = Oracle 10.2 g.
Upgrading it to Sp9 , we have downloaded dumps from service marketplace.
Kernel & ABAP stack upgradation have been completed and the system is showing it clearly from status menubar.
Now we are trying to upgrade JAVA stack from JSPM .At first we selected all the compnents to upgrade from level 6.0(6.2/6.3) to 9.00 but only sap.com/SAP_JAVASL comp got deployed.Other compnents were taking huge amount of time and in the status bar jmon process ids are only increasing one by one. (at one time it reaches to 50000 approx)
So, we abort the process and tried to deploy one by one , in that case some components got deployed , these are sap.com/BASETABLES,sap.com/CORE_TOOLS,sap.com/JLOGVIEW.
When we tried to deploy sap.com/SAP-JEE ,  it got deployed with warning (ultimately not happened) and dispatcher was in ACTIVE state(yellow) instead of running. So we abort the process and restart the cluster as well as reboot the system. This makes running the dispatcher.
Then we tried to deploy sap.com/SAP-JEECOR . It was also taking huge time. So we abort this process also. But now we are facing some problem that is dispatcher is not up.We restart the cluster and reboot the system still the problem persists.
    note:There is no space problem
**)disp+work.exe's status is Active instead of running
    **)Both msg_server & igsdw.exe are running
**)From portal it is showing dispatcher is running but no server connected
**)In JSPM log file one error msg is comming :
    service com.sap.security.core.ume.service ================= ERROR =================
Core service com.sap.security.core.ume.service failed. J2EE Engine cannot be started.
    java.lang.AbstractMethodError: com.sap.security.core.server.ume.service.UMEServiceFrame.useTxManager()Z
So how should we proceed as no further deployment is  possible as it needs dispatcher to be up.
Any help will be highly appreciated in this regards.
    Regards,
    Souren

  • Error while upgrading NW04s to sp5

I installed NW04s in my machine. I am trying to upgrade it to sp5. I could upgrade the ABAP stack to sp5 without any problem. When i am doing java stack, i could update all other support packages except the one 'CAF05_0-10003464.SCA'. Can anyone help me to sort out this problem?

    Symptom
JSPM hangs by upgrade from SP4 to SP5 with the following message into the log file:
ERROR: Not updated. Deploy Service returned ERROR: java.rmi.RemoteException: Exception in operation
    update with application sap.com/caf~tc..
Reason: com/sap/caf/rt/exception/CAFDeleteException; nested exception is: ,,java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
JUP fails by NW04 SP14 -> NW04s SP5 upgrade with the message into log file:
ERROR: Not updated. Deploy Service returned ERROR: java.rmi.RemoteException: Exception in operation
    update with application sap.com/caf~tc..
Reason: com/sap/caf/rt/exception/CAFDeleteException; nested exception is: ,,java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    Reason and Prerequisites
Deployment of CAF component sap.com/caf~tc failed by deployment scenario of type:
    1. The application is deployed with a reference to Lib1, where Class A
    is included.
    2. Then class A is moved from Lib1 to Lib2 (removed from Lib1);
    3. Then the new version of the application which has references to both
    libraries Lib1 and Lib2 is deployed via SDM;
    4. The deployment fails with NoClassDefFoundError: class A.
For patricular case we have the situation:
The class com/sap/caf/rt/exception/CAFDeleteException was moved from
caf/runtime/ear to caf/runtime/api/lib between the SPs.
    Solution
    Please follow the steps:
    1. Close JSPM application
    2. Start <device>:\usr\sap\<sid>\JC<instance number>\SDM\program\RemoteGui.bat
    3. From the menu invoke "SDM Gui" -> "Login" and enter your SDM password
    4. Navigate to tab "Undeployment" and select CAF component caf~tc, press button "Select" and "Start Undeployment" and complete undeployment confirming it.
    5. Navigate to tab "Deployment" and select CAF component using plus button and select option "Update deployed SDA/SCAs that have any version" into Deployment configuration options below and complete deployment confirming it.
    6. Close "SDM Gui" application.
    7. Restart JSPM and on the step "Select package type" select option "Single support packages" in order to update all other components, which left not deployed.
    8. On step "Specify Queue" select all not deployed components and complete their deployment.
    An alternative way is:
    1. If there is a problem with CAF deployment do not stop the upgrade application.
    2. Open command prompt and go to SDM\program directory
    3. Execute: sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"
    4. Execute: startserver
    5. After that start the SDM remote GUI application
    6. From the menu invoke "SDM Gui" -> "Login" and enter your SDM password
    7. Navigate to tab "Undeployment" and select CAF component caf~tc, press button "Select" and "Start Undeployment" and complete undeployment confirming it.
    8. Logout and close "SDM Gui" application.
    9. In the command prompt execute: stopserver
    10. In the command prompt execute: sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"
    11. Go to the Upgrade application and restart the process from the point of failure
    Best Regards,
    Barry.

I assume you need to make sure that you are performing the upgrade with the SAP JVM. You do not need a separate Sun JDK next to the SAP JVM because SAP JVM is a complete Java environment.
So you could try to deinstall the Sun JDK, to make sure you are using the right JVM for your upgrade.
Note that I did not check any install notes. It is just an assumption out of your exception traces. Maybe the install docs will tell you more about the needed JVM.

  • Error while upgrading the NW04 engine

    Hi All,
I got following error while upgrading the NW04 engine. "error while reading sdmrepository.sdc file. return code 16."
I tried from stand alone. same issue. It would be great if somebody gives solution quickly.
    Thanks
    Vincent

    Hi ,
even if you start the mode in either standalone or integrated your SDM won't start completely and shows the above error.
check for sdmrepository.sdc file under <Drive>:\usr\sap\<SAP_ID>\JC<Instance_ID>\SDM\program\config\
sdc file might got corrupted or it's size would have got reduced. even if you run sdm in standalone or integrated,
you will get the same error.
Solution is to compare with the backup file that sapinst created everytime while upgarding the engine in the same folder and
replace the latest with the current.then your problem is solved.
hope that helps.reward points if it helps

Procedure "SBO_SP_TransactionNotification" is a stored procedure created by B1 automatically, should be in each one of your company databases. You cannot find it in SBODEMOUS database?
You need to modify the stored procedure in SQL server before proceeding with the migration to HANA.
Was SBODEMOUS company database an old SQL company database or is it a new company database created directly in HANA version?
    Regards,
    Trinidad.

I have an OPMN clustered environment. The second node in the cluster was down while this upgradation.

There is another oracle instance we have, the one that is hosting the LDAP server, and after the above I also tried doing a stopall there, then bringing up only the ldap server which is required for the upgrade, and then shutting down the iasconsole for that instance too so that only the ldap server remained, then re-running the portal upgrade. It didn't help.
    Any ideas?
