Error in Verify Cluster of Oracle FailSafe Manager

Hello,
I am doing SAP ERP6.0 installation on MSCS cluster environment. I have finished the following steps
ASCS Installation,First MSCS Node Configuration,Database Instance Installation,Additional MSCS node configuration, Enqueue Replication Server Installation and Central Instance Installation.
I am now creating the Oracle FailSafe Group on the MSCS node which has the quorum resource in my case the DB node.
After adding the Cluster when I click on Verify Cluster I get error. Below is the VerifyCluster log

  • Error while installing OFM 11g - Oracle Identity management suite 11g

    Hi,
I am getting following error while installing Oracle Identity management suite 11g (Oracle Internet Directory & Oracle Virtual Directory) on Red Hat Linux 5.0.
"Error in invoking target 'client_sharedlib' of makefile '/apps/idm/Oracle/OracleHome/Oracle_Home/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk"
the same error is repeating for others also i.e. 'all', 'install" etc.
Can you advice me how to overcome this?
    Regards
    Chinta

    Hi Chinta,
Pl. check for all gcc and glibc OS packages compatibility with your your OS. This will solve your problem.
Also check that you are not installing a 32 bit IM software on a 64 bit machine or viceversa.

  • Error trying to log into Oracle Directory Manager

I am receiving an error message when I try to log into Oracle Directory Manager. This is the first time I am trying to log in, I am trying to login with the username cn=orcladmin, and with the password welcome, which is the default. I then receive the error message "Server is not up and running". I thought I started an OID instance with oidctl.
    I am running on w2k.
I am using the default port 389, at least thats what I accepted while installing the infrastructre.
    Any advise?

  • Error while configuring IWA in Oracle Access Manager

This is the error that I get:
"The credentials (REMOTE_USER=MyUser Resource=/edm/ RequesterIP=172.25.164.82 Operation=GET) used in the login do not correspond to a user profile in the Identity System."
I definitely have this user in AD as well as Netscape DS. My OAM configuration points to Netscape Directory. While the IWA login happens successfully, the WebGate is not able to identify this user in Netscape. What could be the possible reasons for this error?
    Kindly let me know.
    Thanks,
    Prashant.

Thanks Boland. That solved the problem. I was using samaccountname from AD, instead of uid from Netscape.

    Regards,
    Ranjith

    Hi Ranjit,
Can you check wheather IPMP is properly configured ( check with you system team ).
Rather than sap ,can you test the drive which is provided to you for installing SAP is moving proper from 1 node to other node.
It mean you for e.g drive F:\ provided to you for installtion of oracle software and database . Stop SAP & oracle and just try to move the F:\ drive from Node 1 to Node 2 manually . After that Try to shutdown the node on which F:\ drive is there , when OS is getting shutdown the drive F:\ should automatically move to other node .
Try this m if it is working then , Oracle Fail safe should also work.
    Any Query pls reply.
    Thanks

  • MS Cluster & Oracle FailSafe problem

    Hi there,
We are using MS Cluster with Oracle FailSafe 3.3.4 on a 2 node cluster.
1 database instance on each of the 2 nodes configured as active/active.
When I stop the MS Cluster service for SAN disk maintenance, the 2 databases are shutdown automatically.
But when MS Cluster service is started up, in Windows Service on both nodes shows that the Oracle listener and Database instance are started.
However, in actual fact, when I try to connect to the database is says that the instance is not started.
When I check the alert logfile, there is no entry where the database is started when MS Cluster service is started.
Is there any additional configuration settings which I need to do on MS Cluster or Oracle FailSafe?
The only way to startup both the listener and database on the 2 nodes is to startup manually.
All the Oracle listeners and Database + disks + network IP are already assigned as resources in their individual cluster group.
In FailSafe manager or MS Cluster admin, I can offline and online the resource group for both nodes. But still, in Windows services, they appear started while in actual fact I still need to start them up manually.
    Appreciate any advise.
    Cheers
    Jim

    Hi Tiburon,
no you don't need MSDTC as a resource in the cluster group. I have a similar configuration and following Cluster ressources in my Cluster Group
    - Cluster IP Adress
    - Cluster Name
    - Disk Q (Quorum Disk)
    - Oracle Services for MSCS
nothing else in the Cluster Group
Contents of my Oracle Group are
    - Disk F
    - Disk G
    - Disk H
    - Disk I
    - some more disks all on SAN
    - Oracle IP
    - Oracle Name
    - OracleOraDb10g_DbTNSListenerFslczvsoc01
    - ORC1 (Database)
    everything works perfect
May be that helps a little

  • Error while installing oracle identity manager

Im using windows installer. I get error below when installing Oracle Identity Manager, any idea to solve this?
Following Error occured during schema creation connected
ERROR loading database script C:\oracle identity manager\OIM9.0.1.1\installServer\Xellerate/db/oracle/xell.sql!
Please contact your DBA! ORA-06550: line 1,

    column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored [12/13/06 11:36 AM]
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi,
    I got the same error:
Following Error occurred during schema creation connectedError loading database scriptD:\appl\OIM_902_RC\OIM_902_RC\installServer\Xellerate/db/oracle/xell.sqlPlease contact your DBA!ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00905: object VIM_ADMIN.PIN_OBJ is invalid ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored [12/8/06 5:57 PM]
But I could fix it by dropping the schema and recreate it by only executing the prepare_xl_db.sh script as dba user on database server:
    1.     Copy the scripts prepare_xl_db.sh and xell_db_prepare.sql from the distribution CD/Directory to a directory on the machine hosting the database where there is (as the account user performing this task) write permission.
    2.     Run the prepare_xl_db.sh script by entering the following command:
    ./prepare_xl_db.sh
    3.     Provide information appropriate for the database and host machine when the script prompts for the following items:
    •     The location of the Oracle home (ORACLE_HOME)
    •     The name of the database (ORACLE_SID)
    •     The name of the Oracle Identity Manager database user to be created
    •     The password for the Oracle Identity Manager database user
    •     The name of the tablespace to be created for storing Oracle Identity Manager data
    •     The directory in which to store the data file for the Oracle Identity Manager tablespace
    •     The name of the data file ( no need to append the .dbf extension)
    •     The name of the temporary tablespace
    4.     Check the prepare_xell_db.lst log file located in the directory where the xell_db_prepare script was run from to see execution status and additional information.

  • HELP! Oracle FailSafe - Listener fails when adding standalone database

Well, I have a cluster of two nodes with the following specs:
    (1) an Oracle 10g database each
    (2) Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS)
    (3) Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition
    (4) Intel Itanium Processor
    (5) Oracle Failsafe 3.3.3 for Windows 2003 64-bit
The 64-bit Oracle Failsafe doesn't come with Oracle Failsafe Manager, so I used a Failsafe Manager remotely from another clustered servers. The version is also 3.3.3, but it's running on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Well, after connecting to the 64-bit cluster, I added the standalone database to a Cluster Group. There are two cluster groups on the Server:
(1)"Cluster Group" (the default cluster group created by MSCS); containing an IP address, a network name, Oracle Cluster Services, and the Quorum hard drive.
(1)"ORACLE DB" A cluster gropu I created for the database; containing another IP address, a network name for the IP address, and every hard drive volumes of the database files.
The database currently resides on the Node 2 (because I created it there). I have successfully verified the database (using "Verify Standalone Database" option). BUT when I added the database into the cluster group ORACLE DB, it failed with the following message:
23 20:48:48 ** ERROR : FS-10066: Failed to start Windows service OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener for the Oracle Net listener
When I opened the Windows Event Viewer, apparently the Listener Service had started, but it soon "terminated unexpectedly":
At first, the Listener Service appeared to be started:
But this is what happened next; it seemed the Listener Service terminated abruptly after entering the running state for a very short time:
What happened? What should I do? What is the problem? Many thanks!
PS: the following are the messages from both Verifying Standalone Database and Adding Standalone Database. The verification was successfull, but I just failed to add the database:

  • Doubts on Oracle Failsafe Shutdown Process

    Hello
We have the following configuration in our place.
Two Node Windows Server 2003 Cluster. (Active/Passive Configuration)
Oracle 10.1 Home on Both the nodes.
The database server, datafiles, redo log files are on the shared disk.
Oracle Failsafe Manager 3.4.1 is running on both the nodes.
Now We want to shutdown the whole database and cluster for a migration purpose. We should the system and then SAN sync the image to another place and restart it there. So I need a procedure for clean shutdown and clean startup.By going the Failsafe Documentation and other articles in goggle,I have not got a clear idea about the shutdown process.
    As per the documentation ,
For maintenance issues like cold back up ,The process to be followed is:
1.Take the database offline from Oracle Failsafe Manager and it will shutdown the database.
The questions I have is :
1)If I take down the database from Oracle Failsafe Manager on the Active Node,is there any chance that the database will start on the passive node due to failover.
    2) Do I have to first shutdown the passive node or put a freeze between the communication link so that it does not failover.
    3) Do I have to take the shared disks ,Network Adapters offline from the failsafe manager for a complete shutdown or will the Windows Machine shutdown takes care of it.
Also can someone just throw a brief overview on how to start up the same database on the other cluster.
Any suggestions would be helpful .
    Thanks

Sashank1- When you take it offline on Failsafe it won't come up on the other side till you bring it online.
    2- no
    3- again no
I could not get the last uestion but If you want to move resources to the other node it can be done via microsoft cluster services.

  • Oracle Identity Manager looking for OracleAS 10.1.3.x

    Hi,
I need to install the following products on 2 servers
Oracle Identity Management Suite (OID, DAS, SSO) as a OracleAS Active-Active Cluster.
    Oracle Identity Manager in Cluster
    Oracle Access Manager in Cluster
    Oracle Virtual Directory in Cluster
    with F5 load balancers
A bit complex configuration, but think i can achieve it. I completed the first task successfully but now I am facing a problem when i wanted to install the Oracle Identity Manager 9.1 on the existing OracleAS cluster. OIM is looking for a 10.1.3.x version of OracleAS where as the Oracle Identity Management suite is shipped with OracleAS 10.1.0.2 version. we went ahead with the installation process as there was no reference of application server version in the Oracle Identity Management Certification matrix and the OracleAS 10.1.3.4 certification document below mentioned that IM 10.1.4.0.1 is shipped with 10.1.3.x version.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/oracle_soa_certification_101310.html
Can anyone guided me how should i go ahead with this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ramesh GK

Check this OIM on OAS issues
SOA suite is using jdk 1.5.x , Identity Management Suite is using jdk 1.4.x. My advice is to use OC4J from SOA Suite. Open a SR to confirm this. Some OIM required patch for OC4J are only for 10.1.3.x and can't be applied to OC4J from Identity Management Suite, also you can't not use the same database for OIM and IDM repository if you are using multilanguage installation.

  • Failsafe: verify cluster throws warnings

    Hi,
We have Oracle failsafe 3.3.4 on top of oracle 10.2.0.4. Database and cluster are installed succesfully. Verify cluster is throwing the following warning messages.
** WARNING : FS-10658: The Oracle Management Agent software is not installed on any of the cluster nodes
** WARNING : FS-10658: The Oracle Intelligent Agent software is not installed on any of the cluster nodes
** WARNING : FS-10658: The Oracle Application Server software is not installed on any of the cluster nodes
Are the above 3 components required for the functioning of failsafe.
Please let me know. thanks in advance

Install the resource provider software so that it exists in the same Oracle home on each cluster node.

  • Oracle FailSafe on Windows Cluster - Oracle Service Question

    I'm running DB10G R2 on a 2 node Windows 2003 Server cluster.
I have configured Oracle FailSafe and the failover 'appears' to be working correctly but I'm confused as to what/how the DB service works.
When I switch between nodes the OracleService<SID> remains at Started on the node I'm switching from, the service on the newly 'active' node never starts. Is this expected behaviour?
The database is accessible from the clients but I'm guessing (am unable to test/prove) that if I power down node1 it won't be.

Why can't you test/prove what happens when you power down node1? A critical part of every cluster implementation should be to perform failure testing.
It's been a while since I've worked with Failsafe, but I do remember that all management is performed through the cluster manager application (can't remember what it is called exactly--the MSCS cluster admin tool). You shouldn't have to worry about the services. You should be able to relocate the database, it's storage (drives) and its associated IP address to the other cluster node and verify via the MSCS app that all services are running on that other node. At that point, the original node (node1 in this case) can be powered off, rolled out of the building, whatever you want--database should remain available on node2.

  • Error while "Enabling Security for Oracle Management Service"

    Hi,
I have installed OEM 10GR1 on Solaris 9. I am using 9.2.0 database for repository.
My first installation of OEM and agent went smoothly, and everything was working fine.
Then, I tried to follow configurating security for Grid Control Framework. I got following error:

    /oracle/app/oracle/product/10gEM/bin>./emctl secure oms

    Please help.

Thanks for response. I had temp space full issue with repository database. After bouncing database, the temp tablespace became empty, and the secure operation went smooth.
