Error in Viewer Builder importing PNS p12 Development Certificate

I am getting an error in the Viewer Builder importing the PNS P12 Development Certificate.
I have already made the certificate for PNS Production/Distribution and for Development.
I was successfully able to import the PNS p12 Production/Distribution Certificate.
When I went to the next field to import the certificate for PNS Development - error says "Not finding expected label 'Apple Development IOS Push Services:' or 'Apple Development Push Services:' in this certificate"
I followed the same process for both PNS Distribution and Development Certificates.
Why would one work and one not? The Viewer Builder gives very little feedback?
Dave

I've been running into this same problem for DAYS now with an app I'm trying to build, except for me it's the production PNS p12 certificate.
I've tried creating a new app several (countless, actually) times. Since I never get to the point where I can save it, I've had to create a totally new app at every attempt—is this what happened to you? And it eventually worked?
I've also installed and uninstalled Viewer Builder a few times now and the same problem occurs.
BTW, I send my certificate to Adobe and they said that it was valid.

  • Minor error in Viewer Builder pop-up info

    Hi,
I noticed a minor error in the Viewer Builder pop-up information. When you create a viewer for the iPad and choose "multi issue with iTunes subscription", you get to complete the Newsstand information. The iPad 1 & 2 Landscape Subscription Tile info popup states that the PNG graphic must be 468x135, but in fact this should be 463x135 (see help file PDF). It's not a big deal, but it can be confusing for some users I think.
    Can someone please confirm this?
    Cheers,
    Bart

I'm able to get out this problem.
I'd one month old installation of designer and workbench. During  generating formguide, this set up created mxml with following component for Optional paragraph:
Then I uninstalled the workbench and designer and installed latest 8.2.1_GM version of those and run the formguide again. This time, the produced mxml has the following entry
(Notice the difference from cm.* to cm.controls.*)
As I guess (just a guess),I think earlier it searched CmOptionalParagraph in cm root
(it gave error that referenced component cm.CmOptionalParagraph  not found as it was in cm.controls location.)
Now it is able to find that as it searches correct location.

  • Problems in Viewer Builder with Production Push Security Certificate

Help! I've been trying for days now to build my iPad app in Viewer Builder, but I get an error message for my Production APNS Push Certificate and I can't get past the provisioning page. I've been on a dozen calls with Adobe, and we haven't yet been able to solve the problem.
In the last round of tech support, I emailed my aps_production.cer and my .p12 version to Adobe. They say that it's valid and that it works on their end. I was advised to uninstall my Folio Producer tools and Viewer Builder. I did this, redownloaded and reinstalled everything and got stuck in the exact same spot.
If anyone has had a similar problem and been able to solve it please let me know. I'm at my wits end with this one!

  • Viewer builder sideloading...

Can some one explain this please, I'm using VB 1.4 but using viewer builder we still have to create all the certs and icons etc, so Im not sure what advantage being able to copy a .folio file into iTunes over the .ipa file, have I misunderstood as usual?
    cheers
    Alistair
    Sideloading option in development builds
When you use the Viewer Builder to create a development viewer for the iPad, you can turn on sideloading. This option lets you manually copy a .folio file (not a .zip file) to the development viewer through iTunes.

The sideloading option is useful only for those who are still using the Content Bundler workflow (or for those who use the Content Bundler on a different machine).
    Here are the basic steps:
    1. Use the Viewer Builder to create a development app.
    2. Drag that development app into the iTunes library. Sync with your iPad.
    3. Use the Content Bundler to create a .folio file.
    4. In iTunes, select the connected iPad, select Apps, scroll down, select the development viewer you added, and then drag the folio file into the box.
These steps are from memory, so you may need to adjust.
Note that the only people who can sideload files are the people who have access to the development app. The only people who can use the development app are those whose UDIDs you added to the mobileprovision file.

  • Viewer Builder error: 'Signing Failed'

What does the View Builder Error 'Signing Failed' mean when I download my developer or distribution apps from Viewer Builder? The dev IPA and dist ZIP files appear to download correctly despite the message, so what is it trying to tell me?
    Ali

Righty, I turn to page 15 of the 'Adobe Publishing Process for iPad Viewer Apps' PDF as provided by my Adobe reseller. All the screenshots are blurred but no matter, I can probably muddle through.
The chapter is headed 'Setting up Apple Push Notification Service (Optional)'. At the end of the introductory text is a paragraph reading: 'Important: If you have already created an App ID and certificates, you can configure your App ID to enable push notifications. You don't need to create new development and distribution certificates. However, you do need to create new mobileprovision files.'
Fine, that's clear. My app exists already: I'm just planning to build an updated version, so naturally I have an App ID. The paragraph has told me that I don't need to create certificates, but I do need new mobileprovision files.
The first section after this is headed 'Creating a push notification certificate'. OK, I shall ignore this section because, as explained above, I apparently don't need to create any certificates.
The next section after this is headed: 'Creating a .p12 APN certificate'. Again, my understanding is that I don't need to create any certificates, so I shall ignore this section too.
Oh... I've already reached the end of the chapter on 'Setting up Apple Push Notification Service (Optional)' and I haven't done anything. How do I create the special mobileprovision files that I'm supposed to need for APN?
Well, this seems odd, so I flip back to page 6 and the beginning of the chapter headed 'Creating Certificates', seeking clarification. In the introductory text is a paragraph that reads: "If you want to enable the Apple push notification service (APN), create a separate certificate that you can upload to the Adobe fulfillment server. See the section on setting up push notifications for details.'
So this chapter is telling me that I need to create a new certificate for APN, but no mention of mobileprovision files, yet at the same time tells me to read a chapter that tells me that I don't need to create new certificates for APN and I do need new mobileprovision files.
I'm afraid I can't make any sense of this, and neither can anyone I send these instructions to. Luckily for us, APN isn't particularly significant for a twice-yearly magazine. But it would be nice to get a handle on it in case we launch a weekly.

  • Viewer Builder Error - requires authentication

I keep getting this message when i try to log into DPS in the viewer builder.
I have CS5.5 master suite and viewer builder installed on my work setup and i can log in to accts via the viewer builder there fine.
I installed the viewer builder on my home computer (no CS5.5 suite) and i get this error message for any acct i try to log in to.
Is it a requirement for viewer builder that indesign is installed on the system? might there be some other error causing this, or a workaround?
    Thanks-----

    I have the same problem.
I just had produce a new single veiwer app to appstore.
After 2 days, when I try to produce another single viewer, I meet that problem, both ipa and zip have the smae error information.
I pretty sure both our "Development Certificates" and "distribution Certificates" was right and I try to re-produce those again and again,
Even our developer and distrubution p12 files.
Do you have any suggestion about this situation??

  • Error in Downloading Distribution Viewer(.zip) in Viewer Builder

In the signing screen. I enter the Certificate p12 and password and mobile provision and I get this error
Not finding expected label 'iPhone Distribution' in the certificate.
I have rebuilt the viewer and checked/amended the cerificates in the the apple iso provision portal several times.
Can anybody help. I have a deadline.

I get this error if I sign the Distribution viewer with the Developer certificate, could it be your case?
If not, you might want to clean the keychain and reinstall the certificates and regenerate the P12 files

  • Viewer Builder, Built-in Single App, Error "Signing Failed"

    Hi All
I created Built-in Single App, with sample1.zip exported on Dashboard,
developer-viewer.ipa/developer-viewer.zip is built correctly. (Folio/Viewer version is V21)
Than I changed only from sample1.zip to magazine.zip,
then developer-viewer.ipa/developer-viewer.zip is Not built, with "Signing Failed".
I checked provision files, p12 files and others, uninstall and install Viewer Builder,
    but still I can't built a built-in Single App with magazine.zip.
    How to fix this trouble?
    shimoawazu

I used a sample1.zip for confirming the Viewer Builder settings.
The sample1.zip is 4pages data of our magazine.
I built a Built-in Single App with sample1.zip by Viewer Builder correctly.
Then the folio of magazine was ready, I published it and exported magazine.zip.
And I just changed from sample1.zip to magazine.zip, but a Built-in Single App is not built correctly with "Signing Failed".
I deleted the App on the list of Viewer Builder and  re-built a Built-in Single App again,
the result is same, "Signing Failed".
I changed from magazine.zip to sample1.zip, Built-in Single App is built correctly.
    What is wrong with magazine.zip?

    Thanks for your help..

    Hi Ben,
We're using version 1.5. Basically the 1.4 version when launched generated an error. Something about it having been expired, and we removed it and downloaded and installed the 1.5 version.
    Additional info:
Mac OSX 10.6.8 run with 8Gb Ram.
By the way...something different... in the provisioning account set-up we requested just the one email for Viewer Builder. Should we be using dedicated emails instead for each publication that'll be iTunes Subscription? (this is our first magazine we're transfering, so we've not got a conflict yet, but could have in future).
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Viewer Builder 1.9.0 error to install iOS 5.1 at iPad2

    Hi,
I generate an viewer builder using 1.9.0 but i can't install it on 2 iPad 2 with iOS 5.1, In iOS 5.1 it always shows "iTunes Sync - [app name] failed to install".
I added UDID of both iPad2 in the mobile provision file before generating the ipa file, I tried to install it thru Safari or iTunes but both failed.
But I can install this ipa file on iPad1 with IOS 4.2. Someone had same problem?
    Regards,
    App developer

Did you include the device's UDID in the mobile provision file?

  • Viewer Builder signing failure for distribution viewer

    I'm having the following problem:
I"m able to download the developer ipa from Viewer Builder with no problems, but when I try to download the distribution build, I get a VB error, "signing failure."
this indicates to me that there is a problem perhaps with my p12 and mobile provisioning profile, but I've done all that correctly, as far as I know, and tried multiple times to reproduce from Apple's provisioning portal, but nothing works.
is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I've been having this issue since last Friday. But, my ipa isn't working either....

  • SIGNING FAILURE (Viewer Builder)

We are trying to generate the Distribution Viewer (.zip) from the Viewer Builder and are running into an issue.  This happens at the end of the export process when the link for the .zip is clicked. The developer version (.ipa) works fine.
I have gone back to the Apple Developer Center and revoked all certificates and created them from scratch, along with new mobileprovision files and private key (p12). The error continues to persist.
Is there any information you can give us on what may be causing the Signing to fail on the Distribution file?

iIs there anymore updates on this? I'm having the same problem. I get a signing error when i try to get the ipa and zip. It worked the first time but i had to chnge one thing and have never been able to get past the signing error at the end again.
I've went through every step multiple times, revoked all certificates and provisions, cleared out the keychain and basically re-did the whole process more times than i can count. Everything matches up as far as i can see but I still get the signing error which is in no way specific to what exactly is wrong with the p12 files. I do other apple development on the same machine and dont have problems publishing.
So as theres no support system and the company have already paid for a single lisense which at the minute is used on an app we cant access does anyone have any idea how to solve this?
