Error in viewing logon page, inspite of restoring original par file

Hi,
I was trying to modify, the logon par file, because it was not getting deployed,it was becoming .err,
I reverted back to the original logon par,and still even that gets deployed to .err.
I renamed the original par, changed the reference in authschemes of configtool. This time, the renamed par file got deployed, but still the logon page shows error.
The portal instance is sp9.
Regards,
Harish

Hi Harish
can u pls give the exact details of the error .

  • Error on Portal Logon Page

    Hi Experts,
We are getting exception while calling the Portal URL.
Recently, we changed the password policy and made some customizations on the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file.
After that when I tried to access the Logon page, it gave an exception.
I even replaced the customized logon par file with the original one but it did not help.
Please note that I deployed the logon par file with the same name, so I did not have to make any changes in the authschemes.xml file.
So ideally when I replaced the customized PAR file with the original one, it should have worked out.
Can it be because of some UME property "Password Policy change" or something like that which has been changed by our Basis team  in the Config tool and which is creating issues now.
Is there any connection between the UME property and the Portal Logon page? I know that UME comes into picture once the user clicks on Login button after entering the login credentials but does it also come in picture at the portal logon page call?
We are not able to trace out the root cause as both Password Policy Change and deployment of PAR was done parallely due to which we are confused about the cause of the issue.
Please find below the trace against the exception ID:

    Hi,
Check if your portalapp.xml has an entry "<property name="ClassName" value="com.sapportals.portal.ume.component.logon.SAPMLogonComponent"/>"
If it is there, then I feel that this is an issue with jar files not getting imported properly.
Just try including these two jars (umlogonbase.jar and com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar) from
    usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.runtime.logon\lib
and copy manually to the lib folder under PORTAL-INF in your project.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
Try once again with following steps
    - J2ee - cluster - server0 - apps - sap.com - irj - servlet_jsp  - irj - root - web-inf - deployment - PCD -
    Com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak
    - copy, paste and rename par file at desktop
    - Then extract preserving folder structure
    - Portal-inf - lib -  copy .jar files to your project
    For Changing images :-
    - Portal-inf
    - Meta-inf - information
    - CSS       -  style sheets
    - SRM
    - Layout   - copy or replace your images here
    - Umelogontoparea.txt and umelogonbotarea.txt will be same in every JSP pages.
       Look only these two files.
    - Then portal - System admin - support - portal Runtime - admin console - upload that .par file from desktop. ( No need to ZIP again )
    - .par   NOT   .par.bak
    - Then shutdown servlet engine.
    - User - SAP - APD - JC00 - J2ee - Configtool  -
Configuration tool - Switch  to configuration - Edit Mode
    - Cluster-data - Server - Persistence -   Com.sap.security.core.umeservice - Then switch to edit mode - Authscheme.xml
Replace all occurances of string “com.sap.portal.runtime.logon” with  your par file in the tag  <frontendtarget> save and restart servlet engine.
I hope u will solve your problem

  • URL İview logon page

    Hi ,
We have a URL iview in EP 7.0.When we run URL iview, logon page appears. This site user ID and password are the same as portal user id and password.
How can pass user id and password screen in URL iview?User want to see his/her menu without entering user id and password in the URL  iview.

Ok, i understood you the other way.
Thoose parameter are used for logging on to the portal from another system.
You want to logon to another system from the portal.
You will need to use usermapping of the portal
You create a system and an alias for the webpage you want to logon to.
In you user adminstration you can the maintain a user mapping for the user to the system.
At last you can configure the iView to use the mapping.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d3/ab0b5decd045e482d0deae9f9c90d5/content.htm

  • How to put portal logon page CE 7.3 ui.war file in NWDI Track

    Hi,
We are using sap portal CE 7.3 in our project. I have customized portal logon page. for this I have downloaded ui.war file from portal server in my local machine that is on my desktop and this ui.war file i have imported in my NWDS and done the required modification.
Now I have to put this development that is modified ui.war in my NWDI track which is currently lying on my local machine Desktop, please let me know how to transport this ui.war file and ear project associated with this war file into NWDI track.
because from NWDI track only this customized logon portal page has to go to QA and Prd system. This is strict client requirement.
    Please help me.
    Thanks

    Hi Arush,
Instead of importing the war file into NWDI track, you can create new web module project  in NWDI using New-->Development Infrastructure-->DC-->Java EE-->WebModule and copy paste the WebContent folder Jsp's and xml files which are inside the ui.war in your local machine. Then for this web module you can create ear file for deploying .I have done in this way it worked.

Any ways are there to achive this requirement... Pls help me out....

    Rabin,
There are numerous threads already on this topic -
You need to customize only one file in the customer namespace : com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par which internally uses umelogonbase.jar and  com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar.
Go through the below links for SAP Logon customization - This would make it easy !

  • Error Message For Logon

    Hi All,
There are 3 scenario for which we can have error message on logon page of EP
    1) Wrong Password
    2) Wrong UID
    3) UID locked
But on EP6 we have only one message being flash on screen and that is
    User authentication failed
To make this error message more user friendly can we have following 2 types of error message
    1) Wrong UID / Password
    2) UID Locked
    Thanks

    Hi
Use your logon par file to do this.
If you have customized the par file use that otherwise use <b>com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par</b>
You can modify the following JPS files..
    1)umLogonPage.jsp
    2)umLogonCertPage.jsp
    3)umResetPasswordPage.jsp
    4)changePasswordPage.jsp
    5)umHelpPage.jsp
    6)umLogonProblemPage.jsp
    7)umLogoffPage.jsp
The properties file for error message has configured in the following path..
    <b>PORTAL-INF/exlib/umelogobase.jar</b>
configure the error message in the properties file and create the jar file again and save in the same location.
For user ID lock use import c<b>om.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement.IUser</b>(Depricated) or <b>com.sap.secirityapi.IUser</b> to validate.

  • Error in using Custom Page Layout

    Hi all,
I have created some customs page layouts, and they are working fine in the Portal (EP 6.0 SP2).
Now I have imported them to another Portal (same version than the first one), I made an EPA pakage with the PCD objects for the new page layouts and deployed the PAR file containing the the JSP for the new layouts into the Portal.

    - I am able to create a page and choose one of my customs layouts as a default layout.
    - When in the page I try to select 'Edit > Page Layout' I get a 'Portal runtime error', and in the page logger I see the following exception (see it copied below):
Am I missing any step in the transport? I think no but maybe there is something else I have to do.
Thank you very much in advanced and regards

    Hi Krishna,
I've been able to solve my problem.
It was something wrong when transporting the page Layouts with an EPA package from one Portal to another. Some properties were lost.
What I've done is to recreate manually the page layouts PCD Objects. And all it's working OK

    hi devara,
when you import standerd par files in the NWDS, some files dont get included in your project. you have to manually include these files in the project.
you will get the "com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead_core.jar" file in the
    portal inf-->private->lib--com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead_core.jar
    in your original par file.
just copy this file and paste in your project .

Any ideas? Are there any other setting that i need to do aside from teh autosceme file. thanks

    Hi Johan,
There are two lib files which you need to paste while you import the file in the NWDS.Just check for the steps through this weblog
    the jar files name are
    com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.par
    umelogonbase.jar
(when you unzip you can find the files at PORTAL-INFlib)
Modifying The Logon Par(or customising the Logon Screen)
    Thanks

  • While viewing a page I suden get "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found." However I can back arrow to the page

I just upgrade to versions 18.0.1. I am suing Window 7 64 bit.
Now I while I am viewing a page I suddenly receive the error massage "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found."
I can use the back arrow key to bring the paper back.
If I have several tabs open, I can watch one tab after another change from the page name, It doesn't seem to matter who page it is, Yahoo, Washington Post, NBCNews,

I am not a techie. I keep 15-20 to tabs open at a time for reference while working. When I upgraded to this version, all my tabs were closed and my history was erased. I still have not recovered from that loss. I do not want to have this repeated!
If I was using pdfforge extension (what ever that is) before the upgrade, why is it venomous now?
Besides this issue, since upgrading I suddenly starting having the audio from commercials being played from tabs that are not active (open). I now have to leave my audio muted.
I expected assistance from Firefox not some unknown individual ( iamjayakumars) who for all I know is a troll trying to get me to do something to expose my computer to attack.
I allowed Firefox to collect data they needed from my computer when I submitted the question.
Fix the bug in your program! I have used Firefox since it came out. I am within a hairs width of switching browser. The only thing holding me with Firefox is my bookmarks. If I figure out how to export them, I am gone.
    FIX YOUR BROWSER!!!
