Error inserted into my LDAP request by Weblogic

I have been unsuccesful trying to get LDAP working with my installation
(wl8.1 sp2, w2k). I finally loaded a sniffer and captured packets going to
the LDAP server to see what was being sent and I think I have found my
problem. There is some filter entry that it; WL, does not like and it
generates an error message BUT, WL doesn't error out it just inserts the
error message as the filter string in the LDAP request packet; which of
course doesn't work. How can I find out what filter it doesn't like? This is
on the LDAP request packet NOT the reply packet so I know its coming from
the WL server...

If you can, the best way would be to to change the column name from SUBTYPE to something that isn't a SQL reserved key word.
You might get around this particular problem by adding @Column(name = "\"SUBTYPE\"") on your attribute. This will force eclipselink to add quotation marks in the generated SLQ, but I think it will cause problems when it comes to some more complicated queries.
In my opinion, the only safe way here is to not use column names that are in conflict with SLQ reserved key words.

• HELP!!: Error inserting into table in exception block

I have some pl/sql code. In the exception section I have several lines of code similar to:
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
INSERT INTO SCHEMA.ERR_TABLE (err_num, line)
values ('101', V_LINE);
When I try to compile the code it gives me an error:
(1):PLS-00201: identifier 'TEMP_ERRS' must be declared
(2):PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
(3):PLS-00201: identifier 'TEMP_ERRS' must be declared
(4):PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
TEMP_ERRS is just a table that exists in a schema?
I tried inserting a record into this table in plain sql code and it worked.
What am I missing??
TIA-
null

I was able to insert a test record into TEMP_ERRS using plain sql, and it worked so I believe I should have the correct previlage.
The only difference is that the PL/SQL code is part of a trigger, what specific previlage would I need?

• MS SQL Server 2014: Error inserting into Temp table with index and identity field

In this thread, I mentioned a problem with SQL Server 2014:
SQL Server 2014: Bug with IDENTITY INSERT ON
The question was answered, it is a bug. To keep you informed on this issue, I open this discussion.
Problem:
The code below works perfectly fine on MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and MS SQL Server 2012, but gives an error every second time the proc is executed on MS SQL Server 2014. If I do not define any index on the temp table, the problem disappears. Defining the index
after the insert, does not help.

I remember few issues with scan2ident function, I am not sure if they have fixed it however it appears that this is intoduced to SQL 2014 and we need help from MS to get this resolved as it needs code analysis.
It is not getting simulated for other versions of SQL apart from SQL 2014.
Also to add, interestingly, the value of rax is not visibly changed and it was successfully passed on to rcx, which has a valid value, so something should have changed the value of rax inside call to function using call qword ptr [r10+50h], and looking at this
it appears that it might be a list of functions and we are going at particular offset [50h]. So, bottom line is that the call to function qword ptr [r10+50h], should be changing something in rax, and debugging/analyzing this code might give us some more idea.

• Error:insert into testtable numbercolumn values('9,000.00')

In testtable, ID(number(12), amount(number(12))
Now I want to insert the following record. I got error,a invalid number .
insert into testtable(id,amount) values('111','9,000.00');
I think data type is different. amount is number type but '9,000.00' is varchar2.
How can i insert '9,000.00' to number data type?
I do insert to_number('9,000.00'). It doesn't work. Would you help me for this problem.

Since the datatype is number, if your data is not coming from any convertable source as '9,000.00' (i.e a big auto-generated file from another system that needs data conversation), why bother when oracle will still store it in the table as 9000.
SQL> create table testtable (ID number(12), amount number(12));
Table created.
SQL> insert into testtable(id,amount) values(111,to_number('9,000.00','9,999.00'));
1 row created.
SQL> select * from testtable;
ID AMOUNT
111 9000
SQL> insert into testtable(id,amount) values(111,9000);
1 row created.

• ORA-06502: error when inserting into table via db link with long datatype

Folks,
I am getting the following error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small.
This occurs when an insert is done via a database link into a table that has a LONG data type for one of the columns, and the string contains some carriage returns and or line feeds.
I have checked by removing the db link, and inserting into a local table with identical column data types, where there is no error.
So this might be another db link bug?
So I need to remove the carriage returns and/or line feeds
in my pl/sql block in the page process. I have tried
l_text := REPLACE(l_text, CHR(10), ' ');
l_text := REPLACE(l_text, CHR(13), NULL);
but still getting the ORA-06502. Would really appreciate some advice here, please.
Cheers
KIM

Scott,
Time to 'fess up':
My fault sorry, the error was coming from another page process where I had allowed insufficient string length for one of the variables, and my error message did not identify the page process clearly.
This leads me to make a request for future releases, could the system error messages state which page process caused the problem?
One other thing I notice, and this might be a feature not a fault, the page processes are numbered: "Page Process: 3 of 5". However process 3 is not the 3rd one to be processed, and probably refers to the order in which they are created. Should the number reflect the process order?
Cheers
KIM

• URGENT - Insert into database error

Hi people.
I am using this code to insert multiple records into a table from a multi select box.
Sometimes it works, other times It throws an error saying:

Why would this be? and how can I fix this?

try {conn.close();} catch (Exception ex1) {ex1.printStackTrace();}
}%>
Thanks

Looks like you might be trying to insert a row before all of the rows are returned from the query, this is possible - how many rows do you get back on the members that fail the insert?
You could create a seperate connection for the inserts or move to your last row before starting to insert.
Secondly, your query seems very intense with all the sub selects. Will the following not work?
Select tGroup_X_Member.MemberId
From tGroup_X_Member, tSubject, CALLS
Where tGroup_X_Member.MemberID = tSubject.UogID And
tSubject.Name = CALLS.CallerName And
CALLS.CallerName = ?

• Why this Error comes "ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into

I'm using Oracle 9.2 with Weblogic 8 server. After Googling i got to resolve this issue "ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column" by adding : oracle.jdbc.RetainV9LongBindBehavior=true in server properties for the datasource.
But why did this error come and after keeping the above property why did this error go away ?
Can anyone help me on this.....

You have an error in the code:
1. you don't provide a value for 'what' - you have to tell Oracle what it should execute when it submits the job.
And remember - with ISUBMIT the next_date parameter has datatype VARCHAR2 - SUBMIT uses datatype DATE. So make sure you provide a VARCHAR2 value and do not rely on implicit conversion.
>
PROCEDURE DBMS_JOB.ISUBMIT
(job IN BINARY_INTEGER
,what IN VARCHAR2
,next_date IN VARCHAR2
,interval IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'null'
,no_parse IN BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE);
PROCEDURE DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT
(job OUT BINARY_INTEGER
,what IN VARCHAR2
,next_date IN DATE DEFAULT SYSDATE
,interval IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'null'

• Error adding BW object into a transport request

Hi all, I'm modifying an OHD and when I'm trying to save into a new request I got the following error: "Attention!. The selected object is already locked by another transport request". And it shows me which is the TR that has the object locked, however, when I go to SE10 in order to check if the object its locked there, it is not!. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
Mauro

Did you try unlocking from SE03 - enter that request which system warned and execute and try collecting the Object again in new request
SE03 - Search for Objects in Requests/Tasks - enter IOBJ - Obj tech name - select Modifiable option and execute .. you will see the request numbers .. where this object is locked

• ORA-00604 error when trying to insert into a XMLTYPE stored as BINARY

Hi. Here's the scenario.
Here's my Oracle version:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
The database is encoded as AL32UTF8.
First I create the table...
create table binary_table (the_field XMLTYPE) XMLTYPE COLUMN the_field STORE AS BINARY XML;
Now I try and do an insert like this...
insert into binary_table values (xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="AL32UTF8"?>' || chr(10) || '<a>b</a>' || chr(10)));
and I get this error:
SQLState: 60000
ErrorCode: 604
Position: 122
Error: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
If I create the table with a CLOB storage option for the XMLTYPE, the insert works fine. If I repeat these steps in another database instance, same Oracle version, that's encoded as WE8ISO8859P1, it also works fine. It behaves the same in several clients. I also tried it with several different values for NLS_LANG and that didn't help.
I do want to say that this database instance has just been set up especially for me so I can do some R&D on AL32UTF8 and XMLTYPE to see if it fits our needs. So it might be a problem with the database instance.
Thanks for taking a look at this.

Hi,
Use this
Load data
append Into TABLE HS_HRMIG_EMP_PER_20MAR07 fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
TRAILING NULLCOLS.
Here optional enclosed by is for doubles quotes which should needs to place in single quotes.
like '"'.
try with this.

Gavin,
What is your VC2_40 and NAME_T type definition? Your insert used these as varchar2, which is a built-in type not a user-defined type. If you explicitly define these to be varchar2's, the insert statement works fine.

Can't you use "alter index <shema.spatial_index_name> rebuild ONLINE" ? Thanks. I could switch to "rebuild ONLINE" and see if that helps. Are there any potential adverse effects going forward, e.g. significantly longer rebuild than not using the ONLINE keyword, etc? Also wondering if spatial index operations (index type = DOMAIN) obey all the typical things you'd expect with "regular" indexes, e.g. B-TREE, etc.
