Step1 : Most of the installation issues are fixed by reinstalling the Windows Installer.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175
Step 2: If Step 1, does nt work. You could try these
Navigate to C:/program data/OviSuite Installer Cache Remove all the subfolders from there.
Step 3: If it still does nt work then download the MSI clean up utility (provided in this post, save it as exe and then install it) Click and remove anything which is related to nokia.
Hopefully it works

  • Adobe Reader V9.0 will not install on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

I have Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6001 and tried to install adobe reader V9.0. The download was fine but when I run the program (AdbeRdr90_en_US.exe) it returns the error:
    "NOSSO (R) has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available
    Close program"
So I guess my questions are
    1. Is there a version of adobe reader that will install on windows vista ultimate SP1?
    or
    2. Is there another pdf reader that will work with Vista Ultimate SP1?
Thanks for any and all assistance!!
    Mark

I am getting the exact same error:
I have a brand new HP xw8600 systems with 64 bit Vista Ultimate installed.
Via google I found a suggestion to turn on user account control.
I went to control panel > User Account > Turn User Account Control
checked the box and restarted the system. I ran the install as the administrator. It was a minor improvement. Instead of the error coming up immediately like it was, I got the OS confirmation asking if I wanted to install the program. I got the failure right have selecting "yes"
Running out of clues... any help?

  • Oracle 10g install on Windows Vista Ultimate

Basic question on whether Oracle 10g can be installed on Windows Vista Ultimate. Any link suggesting the same will be appreciated.
    Regards,

I have installed Oracle Database 10gR2 Enterprise Edition on Vista Business Premium and run it with no issues.
Suggestion is to download the 'for Vista' version (http://download.oracle.com) and read the install manual (http://tahiti.oracle.com) before installing. The read the Platform Guide for Windows to follow-up management techniques.

  • Installing AUTHENTIC windows 7 ultimate 64bit on Macbook Pro - ERROR, help!

I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64bit (not the beta or RC, this is an authentic windows 7 DVD -- signature edition) on my macbook pro using Bootcamp. When the computer tries to reboot, i get a message that says:
    1.
    2.
    select cd-rom boot type:"
I saw forum posts with this problem where people were using improperly burned windows 7 versions, however, this is not a burned DVD -- its authentic from microsoft. This means i cant reburn the dvd...
    Any suggestions?!

Did you by any chance install Snow Leopard on your MacBook Pro?
My MacBook Pro was working perfectly fine. Installed windows many times the last 2-3 years and never had problems.
I installed Snow Leopard a couple weeks ago and since then I get this exact same error with all my Windows Install discs (ones that always worked before!).
Whatever I do. I can't get any Windows installed anymore.
The discs are fine, Bootcamp menu reads it and recognise it. But the moment you try boot from it you end up with the error the OP is describing!
And all this, after I installed Snow Leopard. Restoring to previous versions of MacOSX did not help!
So it seems that the Snow Leopard installation does something to the DVD drives on the MacBook Pro's (upgrading firmware whatever) and now it's ruined!!

  • CS4 Suite fails to install on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I just built my Intel i7-980x Workstation with 12gigs of ram a PNY Quadro FX3800 GPU and a 160 SSD.  I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS.  I then began installing my CS4 Production Premium Sutie onto my new Workstation, but the install, after the 4th disk, displayed and error message that said "Done, but with errors."  I can't load the screen shot since Adobe won't allow attachments.  I called TS, but they couldn't help.  I then look on this forum and found people having the same "Language packages" not installing on their XP/Vista machines.  So after turning off the firewall with no anti-virus it still would not install correctly.  Funny thing was I could launch Pr, Ae and Soundbooth, but not Ps, Ai or Fl.  I went to the Windows 7 website to see about the "Public" folder and this location http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Sharing-files-with-the-Public-folder shows you how to turn it back on as Win7 disables it; at least the Ultimate version does.  I attempted the install for the 4th time (I removed it every time prior to the next try) it finally worked.  Tech support needs to be on top of these things, but thank God for this forum and people sharing their experiences.  Hope this helps someone else

Ankit: you should really use code blocks when giving typing or copy/paste instructions.  This forum software keeps inserting random blanks and/or linefeeds into normal text, so when the user copied your instructions, the blanks were copied as well; thus the command failed.
    Example:
    Download Microsoft's SubinACL tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe -4a91-93cf-ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en
Install the same by double clicking on the "subinacl.msi" just downloaded.
Open Command Prompt window through the Run Dialog Box (Start -> type  "cmd". In the section above you should be able to see a command.exe.  Right click on the same and select Run As Administrator)
In the Command Prompt window, type in the following commands:
    cd /d "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Resource Kits\Tools"
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents /grant=administrators=f /grant=SYSTEM=f /grant=USERS=f /grant="Creator Owner"=f
The 'i' and 'ii' in the list above will probably be replaced by the forum software by something else (possibly 'a' and 'b') when I click the Post button.

  • Clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on Qosmio X870

When I received my laptop (Qosmio x870) I immediately uninstalled its OS since it was filled with bloatware and installed a clean version of windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. After my install I have been trying to install the drivers on my laptop, but some don't seem to be working.
My VGA driver has installed, but the windows experience index for my graphics is 5.5 which is much lower than it should be (if memory serves right it was 7.4 before I uninstalled the original bloated O.S). However, the biggest problem I have come across is the Network driver. I have installed every single network driver on Toshiba's driver page for the qosmio x870, but none seem to work. For some reason the laptop thinks my wifi is turned off, which I know is not (unless there is a setting in bios which should be changed otherwise I really don't know).
I really need some help here guys, if someone can point me to the EXACT drivers I absolutely need it would mean the world to me. Toshiba should really have a bundle of essential drivers, like most other computer companies have, it makes everything so much easier for people who hate the bloated O.S that comes with their laptop.

I found a driver installation list for X870 and this installation order is required:

  • Installing RSTE after install of Windows 7 Ultimate

I have the HP H9-1170T Desktop PC . This unit shipped with a Hitachi 1.5TB HD as the C drive, with GPT configuration and the OS on one partition, the recovery partition separate, and another partition for GPT. It was running OEM Windows 7 Home Premium. The device configuration was set at RAID.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with a 250GB WD Velociraptor as my C: Drive.
I had a lot of trouble installing the operating system until I read up on UEFI and the Device Configurations.
It took me 1 1/2 days to figure out the solution
The install would halt at the cd drivers and ask for the disk. So I went into the BIOS and changed the device configuration for SATA from RAID to AHCI and the install continued without problems.
I have downloaded HP SP59479 - Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver (RSTE). IF I try to install this update, the system comes back and tells me "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for installation."
How can this be, when it came shipped with this installed and running?
I don't believe that a UEFI partition with GPT is a requirement.
At least it doesn't appear so based on Intel's Specs.

    I don't like your attitude.
First of all, I am not a "you people."
Second of all, I don't work for HP, so don't take your frustrations out on me!
If you choose to trifle with your PC when you don't know what you're doing, that isn't my problem.  It's YOURS!
The original question you asked was why you couldn't install the RST driver, and I explained that to you.
Not at any time until you blew your stack, did you state that you wanted to run W7 in RAID mode.
Had you asked that question originally, it would have saved us time, frustration and not resulted in this animosity.
To install Windows 7 in RAID mode on your PC, you need to download and extract the Intel X79 chipset SATA Raid drivers onto a USB flash drive.
In order to do that, download the file at the link below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-111117-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=
Use the free 7-zip file utility to extract the files from the exe.
    http://7-zip.org/
Open the src folder, and then open the x64 folder. Copy the contents of the x64 folder (without the folder) onto your usb flash drive.
Then you need to go into the BIOS and change the storage controller setting from AHCI to RAID. Save the setting.
Then, you need to boot from the W7 installation disk, select the advanced installation options, and select the option to install a SATA/RAID driver.   Have your USB flash drive plugged into a usb port.
You should then see the correct driver appear on your usb flash drive, if you leave the box checked to only inlcude compatible drivers.  The driver it should be indicating is the right one would be the Intel(R) C600 Series Chipset SATA RAID Controller.
Windows 7 should install in RAID mode, and you can live happily ever after.

  • Error installing on windows 7

hello, when i try to install the update on my computer (i'm running microsoft windows 7, the beta), it just skips to the end and says "done with errors" and says it could not install the update.
i've tried running as an administrator, and tried all of the compatibility options (run for compatibility in vista, xp, etc etc). i'm out of ideas and really would like to be able to edit my raws again......please help!
also any hope for a lightroom update anytime soon?

It could be done (win7 RC 32b, build 7100):
If you use beta (build 7000), upgrade.
BTW - ACR 5.4 is beta, Win 7 - RC (not beta).
I do not remember any special steps - it went without a hitch (compat. Vista Sp1, run as Admin).
Other way: unzip; go to folder extensions\AdobeCameraRaw5.0All...\Assets, copy&rename file 1003 as Camera Raw.8bi into proper place:
    Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS4\File Formats
This two files looks the same.
    But no guarantee

Nevermind, I'm a moron. Right at the end of the Flex Builder
3 install, it specifically says to open Flex for the first time as
an administrator (right click the Flex application icon and choose
    Run As Administrator). Duh. Sorry.

  • New HDD won't install OEM Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

New Satellite laptop, Win 7 64 bit system., but just put a new 1T hard drive in and new Win 7 Ultimate OEM disc. Boots from the disc, but then I get a black screen with orange stripe across the top...on the screen it says "Starting Windows" but
no instructions, or steps to follow...what is going on?

Yes. you can try with the restore disc. It should work.
I've read few articles here on TechNet regarding 'Starting Windows' issue (without vertical orange line though), and almost all of them ended up with hardware incompatibility issue.
Could be that 1TB hard drive is not compatible with the laptop, or you have to change some settings within BIOS.
But try with Home Premium restore first. Worth to try.
    1. Boot into the repair disc / Windows installation disc
    2. Select "Reimage your computer"
    3. Connect the disk which contains the backups.
    4. Choose the recommended system image or choose a different one if you wish.
    5. On the next page select the time period of the image you want to restore to. Click Next.
    6. Now choose "Format and repartition disks".
Go ahead and complete the wizard.

    Hello,
In that case, what you want to do is run a program which sends an ATA SECURE ERASE command to the hard disk drive, which tells the embedded controller in the drive to basically purge the contents of the drive.  When it's finished running, there will be no information left on the disk.
If you are comfortable with Linux, this can be done by running the HDParm command.  The  Center for Magnetic Recording Research at UC San Diego has released a Secure Erase program which can be run from DOS.  There's also the Parted Magic Linux Live CD/USB, which creates a bootable CD/DVD/USB flash to boot from, but it's not free.
Another option would be to run Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN).  This program does not perform an ATA SECURE ERASE command, but instead overwrites all of the areas on the disk so that no information will be retrievable.  When finished, you will have a blank drive as well.
At that point, you can just boot off of your Windows 7 installation USB flash drive and load the operating system onto the now-empty hard disk drive inside the ThinkPad X220 as you normally would.

  • Error installing on windows 8.1

    What version works with 8.1?

You're getting an error updating Firefox, or with a new installation of Firefox?
Try using the "full" installer from this page (scroll down to your preferred language):
    https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
It will detect your Firefox 29 installation and update it.
    Does that work any better?

I downloaded the trial version of PS cs4 to try out on my new laptop.  Its a clean install of windows 7 ultimate x64.  I gets maybe 10% into the install and i keep getting these errors...
    Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS4

If somebody could shed some light on what i can do to make this work that would be great.  Ive tried redownloading the installer probably 4 or 5 times now.  Ive tried running in compatability mode and ive made sure its being ran as an administrator.
    Thanks

Some of CS4 might be installed so you will need to run the clean script.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html
Just install photoshop and bridge only. You can install the other stuff later on (not need to run bridge nor PS anyways)
Do the install only on C drive too.
