Error installing Acrobat 9 Prof on Win7  64-bit

I bought a new HP laptop and loaded the other components of Creative Suite 4 Design Premium (Win 7  64 bit) with no issues.
I then tried to install Acrobat 9 Professional (several times) and keep getting error messages saying that one or more components dd not load correctly.
My antivirus was turned off and I rebooted after the first failed attempt. The 2nd attempt had the same results.
I've seen others with the same issue while trying to load Acrobat 9 Prof.
What is the "fix" to get this on my new laptop?
Thanks

Bill@VT I believe you are referring to the need for the CS applications to provide their licensing information so that Acrobat can be licensed as well.  This needs to occur before Acrobat is launched for the first time but does not affect the install order.
Mike Sz01 were the remaining applications for CS4 able to be installed successfully?  You can review the installation logs for error messages by following the steps listed in Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

  • Acrobat 8 prof on win7 / 64bit

is it possible to install acrobat 8 prof. on win7 / 64bit system?

To my knowledge the earliest version you can go down to with Windows 7 is Acrobat 9.

  • Problems installing Acrobat 8 Prof using transforms file

Need assistance with installing Acrobat 8 Prof. I used Adobe Customization Wizard 8 to create the transform file needed to configure Acorbat 8 Pro for enterprise deployment using SMS 2003. One computer was still waiting for the contents so it was decided that this computer will have Acrobat 8 Pro installed manually instead. When a staff member remoted into workstation and attempted to install Acrobat 8 Pro, he ran into some problems.
When staff member attempted to install Acrobat 8 Pro, he would get several registry key errors stating that it was not able to access those keys, permission denied. After close inspection, it looks like Acrobat 7 Pro was installed previously but was not removed entirely. The Acrobat 7 folder was still present with a few .dll files still in there. Attempted to delete the folder but error messages stating that the file was still in use, permission denied. Attempted to unregister the .dll files with no luck and staff member made himself the owner of the folders to be able to delete them and was successful.
Attempted to install Acrobat 8 Pro again using the following command line:
    msiexec /i acropro.msi TRANSFORMS=acropro.mst /qb.
Installation went okay and after reboot and first attempt to start Acrobat 8 for the first time, it went through the wizard to enter the serial number. The serial number was entered in the transforms file as well as other configuration settings. After closer look, it looks like none of the configuration settings took like shortcuts were still present and username and company name were not entered into product. Staff member attempted to reinstall again with no luck.
Is there a way to compeltely remove Acrobat 8 Pro so that when it is installed again, it would be a like a new install? Delete files, registry keys and so forth? The user of the computer has other Adobe products like Photoshop 7.0 and InDesign.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The DVD appears to have the 32-bit version and I've tried having Windows install it as Vista as well as WinXP, but it doesn't work. It just provides an error and tells me to contact support. I'm guessing this is under the CC area, but I can't find a DVD area!

    Hi ivank25654647,
I have checked the serial number you have provided and it looks like a Volume Serial number to me. There are mainly two reasons why this error might pop up :
    1) You are using the installer for a Retail product and using the volume serial number as that combination do not work.
    2) You have a stand alone installer for Acrobat and not a suite installer.
I would request you to kindly navigate back to the licensing website and go to Licenses>Downloads and search for the download link for the Creative Suite 5 and then download Acrobat again. This should resolve the concern that you have.

  • After system re-install Acrobat 8 Prof does not work

I had to install my Windows 7 pc. After this nasty procedure I cannot start Acrobat 8 Prof any more, window turns grey. Serial no. is available and no. of activations are not exceeded. Has anybody any idea what went wrong and how I can make use of Acrobat Prof again?

Have you tried a repair from the Start>Control Panel>Programs & Preferences? If a repair will not do the job, then you my have to reinstall as a last result. If you do that, be sure to deacctivate, uninstall, remove the Acrobat folder if any parts left, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, reboot, reinstall, and run updates. If a 64-bit system, the updates are an important part. If needed, they can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and installed in order.
During installation, don't forget to be logged in as the administrator and disable anti-virus.

  • Error installing iTunes 10 on Windows 7 64 Bit

I upgraded to Windows 7 from XP since I changed laptop. I did tried to install iTunes on this new machine (win 7 64 bit Corei7 processor and 4G RAM) but during the installation when the status screen states "Publising Product Information", I'm getting the following error message:
"An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken='1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorarchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x800736FD."
Following this message, the installer reverses the installation process and after a 10-15 minute wait, a screen comes up that says the Itunes installation was complete. Obviously it wasn't but that is what the message says. When you close out of that message, Itunes tries to start and this message pops up:
"Apple Application Support was not found.
Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall itunes, then install iTunes again.
    Error 2"
Any help will be very much appreciated

It's rarer to see these on Windows 7 than it is on Vista. Somtimes they're a bit easier to deal with on 7, too.
First, head to Windows Update and see if you can update the PC. If you can, and you collect updates without any errors, try another iTunes install.
If you get errors installing Windows Updates, double click on the failed updates in your Update history to bring up a small window containing alphanumeric codes for the erros. Are they also 800736FDs, or are you getting other error codes?
