Cud u pls chck if ur system has got microsoft visual c++ 2008 redistributable instlld on ur pc? If not, do googlin' b4 u instll this on ur pc, if u feel its safe 2 install, go ahead n chck.

I got my nokia n8 yesterday and I got some problems while installing the ovi suite cd in my Windows7 64bit laptop.. so i download the latest version of ovi suite but i got the same problem as mentioned below...So provide some solution to install ovi suite completely in my laptop.
I got the error like

There doesn't seem to be any uninstaller for Ovi Suite either. I have looked for some sort of removal tool and thousands of other people are looking for the same, but that doesn't seem to exist either.
Every time I try to remove Ovi Suite from from Control Panel and also using third party software, It only seems to want to install the software and not remove it. Going through the motions of selecting to install the current software, the same error comes up about permissions.

Problem while trying to install OVI suite

Hi, guys! How you doing? I've got a problem while trying to install OVI Suite: I'm getting a warning signal that says "Something got wrong - Nokia Ovi Suite installations require that PC Connectivity solution 7.0.0.0 or a later version to be already installed before continuing installation" and I can't install after that. I've been searching at Google, but I have found nothing. Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

How to install ovi suite to a drive other than C:?...

how to install ovi suite to a drive other than c:??? my c: drive is almost full with other partitions perfectly free to install it, how do i do that? can i use previous versions of ovi suite to use with my e63? at this point, i'm unable to use ovi suite at all, because there's no room to install it on my c: drive.
allllllllso there's one more thing, when i originally had tried installing ovi suite on my computer i had more than 1gb free. after installing it i on'ly had 500mb free. i had only intended for it to use a very small amount of space, and since i also use my c: drive for virtual memory i quickly uninstalled it, looking for an option i'd maybe skipped over while installing it the first time. no luck. anyways, when i looked in the add/remove programs control panel the installed size of ovi suite was only 40-50mb. even after uninstalling ovi suite the extra memory space that seemed to all of a sudden taken up by the installation stayed used.
when looking at the file sizes of everything on my hard drive, (including system files and paging file) there is still a descreprency between the amount of memory used and the size of all files total on the drive. at this point im quite disgusted and disapointed in ovi suite as i'm mostly unable to use it to connect my phone to my computer and i'm also having problems with the CA101 cable as well. i guess i'll have to go check for another cable.

Hi ostrenga4, sorry to hear about your experiences.
When installing Nokia Ovi Suite to PC, Windows makes "system restoration points", which are available to restore operating system to previous condition, if something goes wrong, for example in driver installation.
You can change install location of Nokia Ovi Suite with following:
- Download Nokia Ovi Suite install package from Nokia Ovi Suite pages
- Start Windows Command prompt
- From Command prompt, navigate to folder containing Nokia Ovi Suite install package, which you downloaded
- Start Nokia Ovi Suite install package with command line "Nokia_Ovi_Suite_webinstaller.exe /TARGET="D:\TestDir\Test"
- This results, that Nokia Ovi Suite installer creates folder D:\TestDir\Test (if that doesn't exist) and installs Nokia Ovi Suite there.
- Unfortunately, Windows Installer still keeps installer cache files and system restoration points in C: drive (or whatever your system drive is)
As you can see, this is possible, but it is very much recommend to have enough space for installing software into system drive.

Installing OVI Suit on Windows Vista Enterprise di...

I have a great problem with the OVI suit installation on a Windows Vista Enterprise 32Bit.
Before i install ovi suit, there was the "Nokia PC Suit" on the PC this software is uninstalled now, and also i run the “Nokia_PC_Suite_Cleaner_7_1_1.exe“.
Also i have browsed the Support Board and Google/Bing for solutions,
But nothing of these entries can help me with this installation.
OVI Suit version is actually downloaded yesterday (3.0.0.290).
The installation stops at 1/3 of the normal run.
I have tested the installation on 3 machines like the problem PC, without a problem.
So i have no idea what i can do to run the installation to the end.
Now I have started a new try to install the OVI Suit, and deleted before all Registry-Keys.
By the way, is this really normal that the installation needs more than 120MB RAM?
So it’s 16:30 at your site next business day is Monday, i hope you have all details and can help me.

How to install Ovi Suite to the D drive?
The installer does not offer any options. -SS.
My C drive is full and there is not enough space for the humoungous Ovi suite. As a matter of my personal policy, I never install any application to my C drive. I have created a separate D partition expressly for installing applications.

You can change install location of Nokia Ovi Suite with following:
- Download Nokia Ovi Suite install package from Nokia Ovi Suite pages
- Start Windows Command prompt
- From Command prompt, navigate to folder containing Nokia Ovi Suite install package, which you downloaded
- Start Nokia Ovi Suite install package with command line "Nokia_Ovi_Suite_webinstaller.exe /TARGET="D:\TestDir\Test"

is there any solution for installing OVI Suite on secondary hard disc??
( i have asus ee and there is no free space on primary C: hard disc so i need to instal it on external hard disc, how can i change instalation folder??)

I have not tried this myself, but this recent thread

seems to document some command line options on the NOS installer that can be used to specifiy, among other things, a specific folder to install the software to. I suspect that a lot of files will still end up on drive C (because the stuff that goes into your user profile, and into "Common Files" subfolders), but this should at least allow you to ease the burden somewhat.

Installed Ovi Suite - Ovi Player broken now

as the subject says ive had Ovi player working fine on win7 64-bit for months now. But i wanted to take advantage of the free navigation so I installed Ovi Suite but since then when i try to run Ovi Player it just says Ovi player has stopped working.
I have tryed uninstalling and reinstalling when it is installing it says failed but put the icons and shortcuts everywhere, I have also tryed deleting the .msi file that it points at to force it to download it again but after downloading again it tells me it fail to install.
Has anyone had this problem and resolved it?

Try downloading the package again.

Check that digital signature on the package is intact. You can do verify it by right clicking on the package->properties->Digital Signatures tab->select Nokia and details. It should say Digital Signature is Ok. If you don't have Digital Signatures tab it also means that the signature is invalid and you should download the package again.

I get an error while installing Ovi suite.

I can't install the Ovi suite. I'm trying to update my firmware and get the free maps to my phone. I've loaded the newest version, but I get an error.

The installer is trying to install Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 runtimes to your machine when the error appears.

Many other programs install the same component and if you try to google this issue you will find quite many people strugling with the same issue even though they would be trying to install something totally different application. Unfortunately, there is no single solution that would fix this issue. Anyway there are some ways to figure out what is causing the error.
First step is to try to find the actual hresult error code. It should be something like -2343434.
Download the package from the link above and try to install that. You should get the same error message. Then type %temp% to you address bar and press enter. Sort the files by date. There should be very recent log file. Try to look for this hresult code or some other hint from the log file. Attach it also here.

I would definately go back to WinSxS and rename those *vc80* folders back that didn't appear after re-running setup.
2)
Ckeck if the "Windows Modules Installer" service is started. If not, try to start it from the services console. If you receive an error "1450 Insufficient System resources" error, then follow this steps:
1) Open regedit and replace the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
Key: RegistrySizeLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0xFFFFFF (4294967295)
2) Reboot
3) Open a command prompt as administrator and run SFC /SCANNOW to check the integrity of system modules.
4) Install pending windows updates

Runtime error by installing Ovi suite

I can download the software but when I want to install it, it refuses. Always get the info:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library and than Program: C:\.. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Error installing Nokia Suite! Need help.

Hello everybody,
I am trying to install Nokia Suite on my laptop, running on Windows 7 64 bit. I downloaded two different install files from http://www.nokia.nl/support/software/nokia-pc-suite/download . First I selected my phone (N97) and then downloaded that file. The install failed so I tried the fast download, which also failed to install.
During installation, I'm getting this error:
Microsoft.VC80.MFC,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64".
I don't know what to do now, can anyone help me find a solution?

Error installing PC Suite 6.84

Long story short, my computer got formatted and I had to re-install PC Suite (version 6.84) on my computer. Exactly when the installer reaches 38 %, I get this error :

I hope you can help me solve this as I've found absolutely nothing on Google and don't own any mp3 player so my cellphone is all I have (music xpress 5310).
I downloaded the new version, with OVI, but quickly removed it since apparently I can't transfer music directly from the CD there. Any help with that? In case I can't install version 6.84 I wouldn't mind the new version as long as I can transfer the files directly from the PC, since all of my music is on CDs.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. From your link I couldn't see for sure if my phone is compatible with OVI player. I know it can play music so I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Also from the link you gave me, it seems the way OVI works is that I have to download the songs (albeit free) and then transfer them to my cellphone. It said I could rip CDs also but most of my CSs aren't in audio form, they are on MP3 (data), so I'd have to transfer them to my computer and then upload them to the cellphone, as opposed to transfer them directly from the disc as I was able to do before.
I know that the version of PC Suite I was using was old, but the new version only lets me transfer the songs using OVI, and OVI won' let me transfer from the CDs. which is the root of my problem. If there is any other way of doing that, using the new version of PC suite, then I'm all ears. I'm desperate.

Installation error installing pc suite

Hi All,
am getting a specific error when trying to install pc suite, and am hoping someone can help!
am using winxp home edition with sp1, have the nokia 6630
have tried to install using the disk that cam with the phone which is version 4.8 (i think) and also tried the newest version off the website. I even tried the disk that came with my partners 6680, but all are giving the same error....
error reads:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {303994ba-6487-47ae-af1d-7af6088eebdb], HRESULT:- 2147024894
ive successfully installed this software on my works pc, using the disk, cable etc, but need to put it on my home pc too.....my home pc is a mirror of the works one, so i cant see what the problem is.....any help much appreciated!

saracen, if you copypast the error message to goole, you will get loads of links that handle similar problems, I suggest you read those and try to figure out what is identical to your setup and find a solution from there.
