  • Error installing Portal 9i

    I have the following error installing Portal 9i
    "An unexpected error occurred during install process. Check the install.log located at <Oracle_Home>/assistants/opca for more datails."
    So I went to the install.log and I found this log:
    "PLS-00201: identifier 'owa_vpd_ctx.set_ctx' must be declared
    error encountered in the install process. Installation aborted."
    Please replay to me if you know what should I do. I have been trying to install the Portal 9i for a week without success. Thank you very much.

    Do you have a good reason to install this version of the application server? It is several years old.
    Here you find the most recent version, Oracle Application Server 10g.

  • Installing Portal Platform: Error "Portal Exist"

    I am trying to install the Sneak preview. I am now at the stage where I have to install the Portal.
    However, I get the following error:
    Analyzer found the following mismatch
    Pre-installation/J2EE/Portal Existence Check that portal exists
    The error description: "Portal exist"
    Does anybody know how to continue?
    I have already installed:
    - Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.4.2
    - the SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 SP9 and MaxDB 7.5
    - the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio SP9

    Have solved it. Contrary to what is said in the FAQ, there is no uninstall in the SAPINST program (the one you can download). But there's an uninstall executable in C:\USR\SAP\J2E\JC00\UNINSTSAP.EXE
    I uninstalled the J2E, then reinstalled it. After that I could install the portal... Maybe it would have been enough to re-install the J2E.
    But anyway, I can continue the installation.

    I got the same error.
    but only in one of the instances of the database (I installed to application servers, one for development, one for production).
    One of them worked fine. But in the other installation (I tried to do it with the same computer) I keep getting that error message.
    Please let me know if you find out how to fix it.
    I4ll keep searching the OTN database for a solution

  • Installing Flash 9 on XP SP3 with IE6

    Hi
    Please could you let me know why I can't install Flash player 9 on an XP SP3 with IE6?
    I am the QA Manager, and I need to test a website this combination but when I try to install the player, it comes up with a security error saying ...
    'The version of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit http://adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the latest, most secure version'
    I am aware that it is not the latest version but it is for testing purposes only. If archive versions are available to download, why can't they be installed.
    The version I am trying to install is 'flashplayer9r260_winax.exe'
    Hope you can shed light on the problem.
    Kind regards
    Chas

    Hi
    Thanks DemonDelight for your suggestions but I have tried both to no avail.
    Chris - Thanks for the link, this seems to be exactly the problem I am having.
    I followed the instructions shown in the srticle but I am still unable to install Flash 9. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
    I put the uninstaller exe in C:/ and then ran the command from the RUN prompt 'C:/uninstall_flash_player.exe -uninstall' I then checked if I had Flash installed and it said I didn't.
    Is there anything I can manually change in the RegEdit?
    Thanks again for everyone's help.

  • Errors Installing Portal Components using 9iAS Enterprise on 8.1.7 SE

    We are getting an error installing the Portal Components using
    9iAS Enterprise on a 8.1.7 SE database. The log indicates that
    the error is:
    ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Function-based indexes
    Errors encountered in the Install process. Installation Aborted.
    While I know that Function-based indexes are not supported in SE
    this should not prevent the installation of Portal.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thx, Paul

    Its also working in our case where we have used 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition. We installed 9iAS 1.0.2.0 on NT. So if you have any issues regarding this then let me know.

  • Error installing Oracle 10.2.0.4 with CRM 7 / NW7.01

    I am in the process of installing CRM 7 with Netweaver on 7.01 on a Windows 2008 64-bit system.  I would have preferred a windows 2003 system, but according to an OSS note (1326698 and 1320013) CRM 7.0 isn't supported on Windows 2003.
    SAPInst runs just fine until it discovers that oracle is not installed.  I go to the right directory and find the sapserver.cmd script.  When I run it, it fails returning an error saying that the operating system isn't supported by the installer.
    Checking operating system version: must be 5.1 or 5.2.    Actual 6.0
    At that point the Oracle Universal Installer halts.
    I found the oparams.ini file where I included 6.0 in the list of supported operating systems.  Not surprisingly, the universal installer failed shortly afterwards complaining that it couldn't modify the registry.
    I found an OSS note (1303262) that says I have to install 10.2.0.4 (part #51036975), which exactly the disc I used.  I am installing the 64 bit version and not the 32 bit version.
    Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

    The statement in the note is valid for CRM 7.0 SR1 only!

  • Error installing 8i on P2 3 Processor with RAID

    I am attempting to install 8.1.7 on and older server with 3-
    200Mhz Pentium II processors. The drives are configured as a
    RAID.
    While installing I got the following error
    cannot copy .../bin.orancrypt.dll to ..../bin/orancrypt.dll.bak
    also, the same message with orancrypt8d.dll.
    Net8 installed but the remaining installation went on for 3 plus
    hours with no CPU action visible.
    I've installed ORACLE 8i on an NT system before. But, it was a
    beefed up desktop. I've done this 2-3 times with no problems. I
    take all defaults and install a sample database with the typical
    installation. This server is for developmental purposes only
    I stopped the install after 4 hours
    Any ideas what may be getting in the way?
    Thanks

    Edited by: user4306972 on Dec 9, 2009 1:02 AMI've already given you several suggestions: "surely you realize that Win 2000 server didn't even exist until long after 8i was fully *DE*-supported ..."
    That means 8i was never certified on Win 2000. That means there's no guarantee that you can install it, or that it will work after installed.
    But if you are determined to go down this totally uncertified, unsupported path, my only suggestion is to go back and read ... and heed ... all the points in the fine installation guide. Particularly the part about installing the loopback. Don't assume "I don't need that". Just do what the install guide says.

    You may want to try a few different SD cards, there are apparently some which do not play well with Vista.
    Personally I haven't had any issues with a 2GB SanDisk SD card running as ReadyBoost in an X61 under Vista Ultimate x64.

  • Error Installing SQL Server Express 2014 Advanced with Tools (SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe) Missing "cc8246.msi"

    My system passed every element of the: "System Configuration Checker" but the installation process encountered an error when it got to the: "C:\windows\installer\cc8246.msi" file.  The Microsoft Help service didn't have any information
    on the error code.  I did some checking and the file (cc8246.msi) isn't on my computer.  I did search the ZIP and CAB files, too.  I did a search on Microsoft.com, MSDN, Microsoft downloads, BING, and Google.  None of the searches turned
    up anything.  I even tried looking for "cc8246.ms_" and "cc8246" on each search site.  I wasn't able to find anything on this file.
    I looked in my nightly system backup files, too.  It wasn't in my "U:\Nightly Backup\windows\installer\" folder and a search of the backup drive revealed nothing, too.  (I keep copies of deleted and updated files for 60 days.)
    Apparently, I need this file to install this version of SQL Server.  Does anyone have any information on this file or where I can get a copy of it?
    ValiantSon

    Below should help in identifying the missing cc8246.msi file from windows installer folder. You need to identify which component this
    belongs and copy that from the SQL Server setup and rename it to this file.

  • Portal Platform SR1 install hanging

    Hi,
    I am currently installing Portal Platform on J2EE 6.40 SP11. the install is "hanging" at phase 2 of phase 13. the machine is still running, processor usage doesnt go past 2%. is this normal because of deployment or something else?
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Check the sapinst_dev.log and see which step it is hung at.
    Often you can simply stop/start outside of sapinst and then retry inside sapinst - BUT - always make certain that no deployments are ongoing or you will end up with a worse problem.

    I'm getting an error installing the ruby-json AUR package with yaourt. Here's the error https://gist.github.com/EvanPurkhiser/5409110

    Technically that is not the problem, the problem is that the PKGBUILD was doing bad things in build(), which makepkg will now refuse

    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks it worked this time I gues was an issue with username having spaces. I know we need to start DB Services first when starting up and Shut Down AS Services first and then DB.
    Under services I see the following services related to oracle now in which order should I be starting and shutting down these services. On shut down of my laptop I want to shut the services first so in which order should I do and on startup in which order to start the services. Following services I see in the windows services.
    Oracle Fulfillment Server VIS_maper      ----------------------->                                                       Automatic
    Oracle Process Manager for VIS_maper              ----------------------->                       Started      ----------------------->   Automatic
    OracleConcMgrVIS_maper          ----------------------->               Automatic
    OracleJobSchedulerVIS          ----------------------->               Disabled
    OracleServiceVIS                    ----------------------->     Started     ----------------------->Automatic
    OracleVIS_db102_RDBMSTNSListenerVIS     ----------------------->          Started     ----------------------->Automatic
    OracleVIS_maper_TOOLSASControl          ----------------------->          Manual
    OracleVIS_maper_TOOLSProcessManager          ----------------------->          Manual
    OracleVIS_maper_TOOLSTNSListnerAPPS_VIS     ----------------------->     Started     ----------------------->Automatic
    Oracle-VIS_maper_WEBOHProcessManager          ----------------------->          Manual
    As I want to make all of them manual and restart/shutdown when needed.
    If I want to start/stop these services from commandline what scripts do I need to execute and there location as I want to a batch file to start/stop all the services.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks
