Error installing Salesforce Chatter via Adobe Air

     I've been trying to install Salesforce Chatter on a users computer and keep receiving the error, "Sorry an error occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."
     I've tried to uninstall everything adobe, reboot, reinstall air and try again with the same results. I've tried putting the install file on a thumb drive and installing it from that with no luck. Any help, here is the install file;

We are having the same issue.  I'm  not an expert with Adobe Air, but it looks like there's an expired digital certificate or signature with the installation.  I've moved the PC clock back a few weeks to January and have been able to get it to install.  We have a support case open with SalesForce letting them know about this, but no response yet...

  • Tried to install latest version of adobe air using file hippo, this didn't work so uninstalled adobe air in the hope of reinstalling but this didn't work either.

    Hi,
    I tried to install an update for adobe air 11 yesterday, at the end of the process I got the message "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
    After I click close, Windows Program Compatability Assistant opens saying "This program might not have installed correctly" and offers to "Reinstall using recommended settings".
    When I click on "Reinstall using recommended settings", the same message comes up about the error and contact the administrator.
    I use Google chrome and FileHippo update checker, I have also uninstalled the version of adobe air that was on my computer in the hope I could install the current version but unfortunately the error message is all I get.
    If you need any further information I will be happy to help, although I have forgotten how to do a screenshot.

  • Install and test of Adobe Air on Mac OS X did not go well

    I downloaded and installed Adobe Air onto my Mac OS X 10.5.5
    machine. I then downloaded about six different Adobe Air apps, and
    tried to start each one in the usual way (double clicking on them).
    The error message I got in each case is the following:
    "Adobe Apollo
    This application requires a version of the Adobe Apollo
    runtime which is no longer supported. Please contact the
    application author for an updated version."
    I wonder what the odds are for me to have picked, out of the
    30 example apps, the six that don't work?

    The problem is indicated by this line:
    The certificate of the installed app fails to match either the signature or migration signature of the AIR file
    Based on the error message above, it would appear the app's published since the latest version with a different/newer signature and did not migrate the older signature when creating the install.  Adobe AIR will complain as above when that happens.
    The easiest solution I believe is to uninstall the current version of the application and then install this new version.  If there is no previous installation found then I would see if memecrusher can be found in the Programs folder where you can manually remove it from your machine first. I'm not familiar with the application so have no idea if uninstalling will cause you to lose data from the application.  You may want to check that first.

  • Pls install latest version of Adobe AIR-something went wrong

    When I try to open an episode in Photoshop CS5 Feature Tour () http://tv.adobe.com/watch/photoshop-cs5-feature-tour/terry-whites-favorite-things-about-cs 5-design-premium/) an AIR error message pops up saying:
    Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again.
    I have downloaded the program from that site, uninstalled AIR and reinstalled the downloaded version to no avail. It just keeps popping up. I click OK on the pop-up error message and the video plays just fine. But it is an annoying pop-up that just won't go away.
    What gives.
    Roxy

    No, I bloody hate that feature of Vista and turned it off long ago!
    I think you’re on the money with the permissions thing because the digging around on the net, which I read seems to points to that.
    But as I say there is loads of conjuncture and advice but no solutions

  • How to custom install Acrobat XI via Adobe App Manager (I don't want Office integration)

    Hi
    I am a Creative Cloud paid member with access to the Adobe App Manger. When I download and install Acrobat XI (also happened with older versions) it just installs the full version of the software, so it messes with my Microsoft Office program sepcifically with Word, installing macros or whatever. So every time I run Word, I get errors.
    I need to install Acrobat XI as a stand alone program, so I can choose CUSTOM installation. But, since I am doing it via the Adobe App Manager, I have no control over this.
    Please help, thanks

    Hi alexanderschek,
    After installing Acrobat via Adobe App Manager, you can go to Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features(windows 7, something similar should exist for other OSes too). You will see a list of all the applications installed on your computer. There you can select Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and click on the change button above. A windows Installer dialog for Adobe Acrobat will be shown. Select modify and click next. Now you will get a dialog similar to the CUSTOM installation dialog.  You can select/deselect features as per your requirement and that should solve your problem. As per your requirement you might want to deselect the feature: "Create Adobe PDF-> Acrobat PDFMakers->Microsoft Office". Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sanmukh

  • Installing Photoshop CS5 requires Adobe AIR to be installed

    Hey Guys (I'm new so sorry if I do anything wrong here),
    I just installed Windows 8, and while it was very confusing I accidently deleted all of my programmes (I got confused with what the Reset Tab was) and when I went to go and install Photoshop Trial, it's telling me I need to update Adobe AIR because It's not available to my system.
    I've installed it before, the only change was from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and I've seen other people with Windows 8 use Photoshop CS5? Please Help!?
    Message title was edited by: Brett N

    No No, Sorry aha I installed Windows 8, which was fine. I didnt like it much so I tried doing a system restore assuming I could just go back to Windows 7 (What my friend told me). I found out eventually I couldnt obviously, but before I found out I figured the "Reset Your PC" option would be like a system restore and would go back to Windows 7. All my Programmes got deleted, which I was fine about so I just went to go install them again but Photoshop is telling me I cant install it due to not having the system requirements. But the only requirement I believe I dont have is Windows 7, but like I said before... I've seen others with Windows 8 having Photoshop..
    A system Image Backup, nope.. I dont. My friend told me that it was just a trial and I would go back to Windows 7 once the trial is up. (I should do my own research in future)
    I hope this was clear enough, again it's pretty late and I'm just stressed over loosing everything. Thank you for getting back to me so soon also - Any other tips on how to maybe get it? I dont think I have any traces of Adobe left since all my programmes got deleted, the only other thing I have is Adobe Flash.

    Greetings Appelonians
    I am privileged to have attained a brand new Macbook Pro 2010. I am not completely new to Apple and have used 'boot camp' on my other iMac's have have owned previously. In the process of installing Windows XP on the new Macbook Pro, I came upon a few challenging errors, some I have solved, but others getting the best of me at them moment. I am going to run through my situation I am at the moment, starting with my initial challenge, the solutions I came up with and at last the cul de sac I am at the moment.
    The family of errors all evolved with me trying to install Windows XP on my Mac
    A) Windows on my Macbook
    1) I used Boot Camp to create a 50gm partition for Windows XP.
    2) I booted up with the WinXP Install CD (original)
    3) Deleted the Boot Camp Partition, recreating it and formatted it as NTFS.
    4) Rebooted and got my first error after choosing to have the Macbook reboot with the newly installed WinXP partition.
    Error
    Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    <windows_root>\System32\hal.dll
    Please re-install a copy of the above file.
    windows_root\System32\hal.dll missing or corrupt:
    Please re-install a copy of the above file.
    Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
    Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.
    Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information.
    Error Fix
    1) I used a Bootdisk created by BartPE and changed a line in the Boot.ini file. Apparently this issue is due to the fact that the Macbook Pro has a 200Mb partition, the Boot.ini refers incorrectly to the wrong partition when trying to complete the WinXP installation after rebooting.
    2) I changed the line in the Boot.ini that refers to the partition as 3 to 2 (see bold below):
    [quote][boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect [/quote]
    3) This fixed the issue and Windows started after the reboot, remember still that my WinXP installation is still incompete.
    B) Blue Screen of Death
    1) During the WinXP run screen, my second error popped up as one of the dreaded [URL="http://justasktheitguy.com/software/blue-screen-unmountablebootvolume-stop-0x000000ed-0xaaaaaaaa0xbbbbbbbb0xcccccccc0xdddddddd/"]Blue Screen of Death[/URL], as found at the mentioned link.
    2) It seems that this error is caused by a problem with an IDE cable or the BIOS in which case you just replace the cable or reload the fail-safe default settings in the BIOS. However, most of the time this error is caused by some sort of problem with the volume.
    3) I booted again with my boot disk and ran 'chkdsk -r' and there after 'fixboot' to fix any errors regarding the volume of the HDD. (Fix can be found at the above mentioned 'Blue Screen of Death' link.)
    4) Now I know that Mac does not use a BIOS but a EFI and this is where I am stuck.
    All I need is to get WinXP installed properly on my New Macbook Pro. I had no trouble installing WinXP on my other iMacs and this has been the first time I had this issue. I do own a copy of Parallels, but I would like to run WinXP on a seperate partition with the option of either booting up with WinXP as well as using WinXP as Virtual Machine in Snow Leopard.
    Hope some one out there can assist me, please.

  • IPhone App via Adobe AIR and Webservice

    Hi Forum,
    I am trying to deploy a iPhone App developed with ADOBE AIR. This gets data from SAP via a webservice. When I test it on the iphone simulator provided by Flash Builder it works fine. But when I try to run it on the iPhone, it just does not get any data. It does not ask for the user credentials also. I was wondering if any one has tried this route and succeeded ?
    Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
    rgds,
    Rajvish

    Hello,
    Just try to open the any sample sap webpage sitting on SAP server ,where the webservice is residing on the iphone browser,if
    the webpage is opening,then there is problem in the application or else,your SAP server is not exposed on internet,so the webservice is not called.

  • Kindle Fire MIDI file play via Adobe Air

    Kindle Fire can play MIDI files via native Amazon MP3 player, but couldn't got it to play in Air (as an external file, checked with MP3, works fine, used same method to load .mid too), what can you suggest? I definitelly need .mid file to be played, not converted it in mp3 etc.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Video encoding is very important.
    For example, use baseline profile level 3.1 for H264 for mobile
    (and not High profile level 4.1 recommended for desktop).
    For more information, see the MAX session of Fabio Sonnati:
    "Encoding for Performance on Multiple Devices"
    And if you have an Android phone/tablet, there is my AIR application
    to watch Adobe MAX 2011 videos :
    https://market.android.com/details?id=air.fr.inway.maxVideos2011
    Search "Sonnati" for this session's video.
    (For info, i use a video player based on OSMF 1.6)
    The pdf presentation is available on Sonmati's blog:

  • Sending Tweets via Adobe AIR iOS Apps

    Heya everyone.
    Is there a way that I can implement a tweet function into an AIR iOS app? I'm currently developing it in Flash Professional Actionscript 3. I understand that there's a method of doing it in Flex, but I have no knowledge in that area.
    Thanks .

    hey kglad, thanks for your help. things are a little clearer now.
    I had a look at the REST API Resources, and dug out the "POST statuses/update_with_media" which requires authentication. So I shall proceed with using tweetr's oAuth class.
    I've chosen to make the authentication a PINless one, since I'm currently dealin with an iPhone app, and I do not wish to disturb the user with a browser opening up everytime whenever an authentication is needed.
    I had a look through tweetr's pinless authentication tutorial and found this piece of code:
    oauth = new OAuth();
    oauth.consumerKey = "YOUR_CONSUMER_KEY";
    oauth.consumerSecret = "YOUR_CONSUMER_SECRET";
    oauth.callbackURL = "http://your.callback.url";
    oauth.pinlessAuth = true;
    oauth.addEventListener(OAuthEvent.COMPLETE, handleOAuthEvent);
    oauth.addEventListener(OAuthEvent.ERROR, handleOAuthEvent);
    var rect:Rectangle = new Rectangle(50,50, 780, 500);
    htmlLoader = HTMLLoader.createRootWindow(true, null, true, rect);
    oauth.htmlLoader = htmlLoader;
    oauth.getAuthorizationRequest();
    I'm guessing the above code goes into the constructor? Or into a private function itself where it'll be called when a button is pressed or something.
    Another question is, what is a request URL? It seems like the default address (according to my application details in dev.twitter.com) is http://api.twitter.com/1/. But that doesn't seem right at all.
    Cheers

  • Error Installing xmlplsql.jar via patch 1453927

    Hi,
    I am new to this XML piece of Oracle Applications. We are currently upgrading from 10.7 to 11.5.8. We finished the AutoUpgrade and are on the 11i Post Upgrade step. It appears the first time I ran this patch I had no issues. I ran patches 2843058,2408149,2344175, 2855600 and 2885384 prior to running this patch. This time through I have only run 2673262 and 2885384 and 2673262 should have included all the previous ones. Patch 1453927 is applied and I get the following:
    $ loadjava -user apps/apps -verbose -resolve -force xmlplsql.jar
    Class not found: oracle.aurora.server.tools.loadjava.LoadJavaMain
    It appears the file is there, and that adovars.env is set up correctly? Anything else to check?
    Thanks,
    Kristin

    Thanks Steve. I got installed properly. I works now. I beleive you are the author of the book "Building Oracle XML applications". Infact i am using your book to start my XML carrier. It is really a good book. Good Job. Please reply when you get a chance. I am surprised about your reply.
    Thank a lot.
    Leo.

  • Windows Xp Cannot Uninstall or Install Adobe Air.

    I installed a new application that when I booted it It displayed the "This application requires Adobe air wich cannot be found" error. I already have adobe air, so I tried installing the latest version of air (didn't work), then after that I tried unstalling air but got the "This application requires Adobe air wich cannot be found" error again. I even tried manually uninstalling it and then reinstalling it but to no avail.
    If any body could help with my promblem it would be much apreciated.

    Please share the exact error message which you are getting while running the application? My guess is an appropriate Adobe AIR version is required for running this application. You can use the documentation http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubleshoot-air-installation-windows.html and use the check the determine the version  of Adobe AIR on your computer.

  • Help! Cannot install Adobe Air

    I just downloaded the Adobe Air exe(version 1.1) and upon
    clicking on it, it doesn't anything. Nothing happens. I am running
    Windows XP Pro and have 2BG of ram.
    Does air require anything to install it such as flash player
    or Java run time? I'm pretty sure I have java installed but not
    sure if I've got flash player.
    what else can I do?

    You can either send the data contained by clicking on the
    "see here" link or, even better, grab the minidump file (in
    c:\windows\minidump, usually) and post that.
    OK....got the report error thing working. So yes, it is in
    fact crashing.
    Under error signature it says:
    AppName: adobe air installer.exe AppVer: 1.1.0.5790 ModName:
    adobe air.dll
    ModVer: 1.1.0.5790 Offset: 00101c70
    Then when I click the click here link, it get a box
    containing the error report content, but I cannot copy the text
    because it cannot be highlighted. Is there way I can obtain the
    contents of the error another way? Like say, instead of having
    windows send the error report to microsoft, I can send it to you?
    The minidump folder does not contain anything by the
    way.
