Error installing vRealize Log Insight pak file in vRealize Operations
I'm trying to install the vRealize Log Insight addon\solution into vRealize Operations 6 and its giving me an operation failed error. I'm assuming this file is meant to be used with vRealize Operations 6 (VMware-vRealize-Log-Insight-2.5.0-2347850.pak). Ive noticed the documentation on some of this stuff is not too clear and I cant find anything on if I'm doing this right or not.
VMware-vRealize-Log-Insight-2.5.0-2347850.pak is used to upgrade Log Insight.
The Management Pack for Log Insight for vRealize Operations can be found here: Cloud Management Marketplace | Solution Exchange

Error installing CS4 from downloaded .dmg file
I work for a company that receives upgrades from Adobe and most recently was given the downloadable CS4 upgrade from our IT department. When I went to open up the DesignPrem_CS4.dmg file it gives an error of "The following disk images failed to mount" reason "not recognized." Have you heard of this happening before?
We are currently running CS3 on Mac OS 10.5.6 which was installed from a CD. I've done some searching on this error, but the only thing I have found is that the file might be corrupt. We had IT download it again, but had the same issue. I've also tried to run the .dmg file through Disk Utility and tried to repair it without any success. Any thoughts on fixing this? Should we download directly to our Mac desktop? Could a file become corrupted by downloading to the Windows environment and then transferring over a network to the Mac?
ThanksHi Buko,
If it is a corrupt file, what steps can we take to insure that it doesn't happen again? Our IT department has downloaded it twice. Could it be the method or program in which they are downloading? What causes corrupt downloads?
Thanks -
Error: missing ck-log-system-start file
Hi,
I'm on a fully updated Arch_X86-64/KDE system that works fine.
I occasionally check by boot log (journalctl -b) , and found the following error:
Failed at step EXEC spawning /usr/sbin/ck-log-system-start: No such file or directory
As said, my system works fine.
Should I fix it?
If Y, by creating the missing file (using touch) or otherwise.
Please advise!

Here's the requested output:

Oracle instance terminated with no error in Event Log
Hi all,
We are running ASP with VB COM 6.0 via Oracle Service for MTS against Oracle DB 8.1.7.4.1. As we always found the IIS down with error "New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator." in IIS server. At the same time, we found lots of error "Oracle Instance has been terminated" in event logs. However, we didn't find any error in alert log or trace file. Can anyone help to tell what's the instance error?
Also, we are running oracle client 8.1.7.4.7 and OraMTS 8.1.7.1.0.
If possible, please also help to solve the error "New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator.".
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
JoyceAre you able to get the explain plan of the same statement directly at the sql*plus prompt?
This could be related to the bug:
Bug 3043373 : Abstract: MALFORMED EXECUTION PLAN IN V$SQL_PLAN WITH FILTER OPERATIONS
There is a patch available on top of the 9.2.0.6 version. The bug has been filed on the base data dictionary views in the database. To confirm, I would suggest that you verify the problem from sql*plus first.

RAC crashed - errors in messages log
2 node RAC. running 1 node config.
OEL 5.
Oracle 11.2.0.2.0
RAC crashed this morning with following errors in ASM log
ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:semget failed with status: 28
ORA-27301: OS failure message: No space left on device
ORA-27302: failure occurred at: sskgpsemsper
Found blog notes to up the semaphores in the kernel. http://arjudba.blogspot.ie/2008/09/database-startup-fails-with-ora-27302.html
bumped up to the following as per note but didnt fix
from: kernel.sem = 256 32000 100 128
to: kernel.sem = 256 32768 100 228
then tried 258 - didnt work
found another blog note that said to try 288 and that DID work so appears to be a semaphore issue. 2 questions:
1: How can this happen all of a sudden? no changes on box for last 5-6 weeks, nothing else running except RAC.
2. Error in /var/log/messages log file. RAC came down at 10:02, messges in the log file from 10:01, must be related. anyone know what they are? Looks like storage to me.

Why do you think it's a problem with kernel semaphores?
There are 2 other issues that I suggest to look into first:
SCSI layer issued Device Reset (0, 23)
ORA-27301: OS failure message: No space left on device
To me this looks like a hardware problem with your EMC storage
Also please provide exact details about your OS version and system.See the errors in the ASM first of all. A few notes are thrown up when we look for those errors. Upping the semaphores resolved. My task now is to get to root cause.
versions: x86_64 2.6.18-194.el5
While increasing the semaphores resolved, I too think it looks like a problem with the storage as we get the same issue in the messages fil eon both nodes at same time.

Error installing Images for 3.2 into XE
I am receiving the following error messages when I am upgrading APEX 2... to Apex 3.2 in Oracle XE.

As you can see, the images were NOT loaded...can anyone help? I've tried moving the folder to different locations and get the same error when I try different paths, quotes, and double quotes. This is done on a Windows XP sp2 machine.
When I try to login to APEX, the login page does not respond to the login button.

LyleOkay..I found the answer...yes..in this forum
I needed to move the extract file to C:\apex
then issue the command @apxldimg.sql c:\
And this worked.

ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed (The data is invalid)
Dear All,
I am trying to insert a image file (gif) to one of my field.
1. Here is my table structure and trying to insert gif image file to PIC file.
SQL> desc cis2.david_pic
Name Null? Type
ID VARCHAR2(5)
PIC BLOB
2. I using sql command to create directory and the path is pointing where the DB
server was installed.
SQL> create or replace directory MY_FILES as '\\hkqaa-db1\TEXT_IMPORT';
3. Written a script to insert empty blob first and than trying to use the dbms_lob.fileopen
to upload the gif file.
SQL> declare
2 l_blob blob;
3 l_bfile bfile;
4 begin
5 insert into cis2.david_pic values ( '1', empty_blob())
6 returning pic into l_blob;
7 l_bfile := bfilename('MY_FILES', 'bess_signature.gif');
8 dbms_lob.fileopen(l_bfile);
9 dbms_lob.loadfromfile(l_blob, l_bfile, dbms_lob.getlength(l_bfile));
10 dbms_lob.fileclose(l_bfile);
11 end;
12 /
4. After I ran my script I got this error message.
declare
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
The data is invalid.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 475
ORA-06512: at line 8
Can any tell me what wrong? is this the way to insert image?
ThanksKnow this is an old post: (for sharing sake.)
Please try avoiding
1. the 'hyphen' in between the path (hkqaadb1 instead of hkqaa-db1)
2. Give direct path like 'C:\TEXT_IMPORT' instead of network path.
create or replace directory MY_FILES as '\\hkqaa-db1\TEXT_IMPORT'; -- Not working.
create or replace directory MY_FILES as 'C:\hkqaadb1\TEXT_IMPORT'; -- Working.
and this worked fine.

Kindly help.I had the same problem on centos (RHEL 5.2). It think maybe it is something to do with permissions with the folder to which you extract the software. I unziped apex download in the home for the super user /root then changed directory to /root/apex to do the install. In sqlplus connected as sys as sysdba the command @apxldimg.sql /root failed with ora-22288. My workaround was to copy the images to a different directory and then it worked. rm -rf /tmp/apex/images/ then mkdir -p /tmp/apex/images/ then cp -r /root/apex/images/* /tmp/apex/images/ then back in sqlplus @apxldimg.sql /tmp. This time it worked!

Problem configuring vRealize Operations Manager
Hi there,
I have installed VRealize operations manager version 6.0 (trial version for 60 days) and ever since I have installed it, it says collecting data but not able to see any details of my vmware infrastructure in there. When I click on reports, it says no reports generated. I am not sure if it is configured correctly or not. Can you please help me with its set up?
Thanks,

any solution?

Good day!
I'm just new with using databases, and i'm enjoying it.
So I read that you can insert images to a table, and so i decided to try it... and here's where I'm at..
*I made a directory
CREATE directory image_dir as 'D:\Images';
--Directory Created.
*I created a table
CREATE TABLE animages
(aname VARCHAR2(40),
breedno NUMBER(10),
image_file BLOB,
image_name VARCHAR2(40),
CONSTRAINT aname_fk FOREIGN KEY (aname) REFERENCES clist(aname));
--Table Created.
*Then I made a procedure for inserting the images
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE insert_image_file (p_aname VARCHAR2, p_breedno NUMBER, p_image_name IN VARCHAR2)
IS
src_file BFILE;
dst_file BLOB;
lgh_file BINARY_INTEGER;
BEGIN
src_file := BFILENAME('IMAGE_DIR', p_image_name);
INSERT INTO animages
(aname, breedno, image_file, image_name)
VALUES (p_aname, p_breedno, EMPTY_BLOB(), p_image_name)
RETURNING image_file
INTO dst_file;
SELECT image_file
INTO dst_file
FROM animages
WHERE aname = p_aname AND image_name = p_image_name
FOR UPDATE;
DBMS_LOB.fileopen(src_file, DBMS_LOB.file_readonly);
lgh_file := DBMS_LOB.getlength(src_file);
DBMS_LOB.loadfromfile(dst_file, src_file, lgh_file);
UPDATE animages
SET image_file = dst_file
WHERE aname = p_aname AND image_name = p_image_name;
DBMS_LOB.fileclose(src_file);
END;
--Procedure Created.
*So i was able to do those but when i was trying to execute the procedure i get this error..
execute insert_image_file('African Elephant', 60, 'African_Elephant');

I've been looking for a solution for a day now, hope someone could help me, thanks.
BTW, I got the code for the PROCEDURE from a user named Aparna16, just did some minor editing so it would fit my tables, thanks.

server - Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 Enterprise edition
Server OS- LINUXWhen accessing a file in the file system through the database there are two layers of permission.
Layer 1) The database user needs the right to read (or write) from this directory. Your user probably has this, but you could check it by looking at the data dictionary view all_directories and all_tab_privs.
Layer 2) The database itself needs access to this file. Database itself means the OS process runs with a specific user. Usually this OS-user is called oracle. The user oracle needs access to the OS folder and the file. If the file had been created by another user (e.g. root or user8731258) then somebody must give oracle the right to read this file (including folder).
I guess your problem comes from this second layer. -

Granted read priviledge on XML_DIR to user sales.

Bokaro Steel CityHi guys,
Sybrand, aplogoies, the second line of the error stack was on one line in the first post, full error stack below:
ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
The program issued a command but the command length is incorrect.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 716
ORA-06512: at "JLMS.LOAD_DATA_UTIL", line 417
ORA-06512: at line 2I have looked at that error code as you mentioned, but the second line here doesn't really help much.
Hoek, i took your advice and tried to replace FILEOPEN with OPEn but got the same error.
Just to clarify as well, I am not using UNC or relative file paths as I know that these can cause problems.

"Error opening installation log file" when installing Photoshop Elements 10
I bought Photoshop Elements 10 , Premiere Elements 10 .... I got the Premiere to download no problem but i can't get the photoshop to download. This is the msg that I am getting when I try to dl it "Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exsists and is writable". Not sure why I can download one and not the other since they are both on the same disc. Plus in the program that I purchased I has 5 DVD's. Any suggestions??
Thanks
