  • What is Windows Azure Pack

    Hi Friends,
I'm a .NET Developer and stated computing on Windows Azure.
I'm curious upon Azure API - where I could able to Create - Configure windows azure virtual machines using azure api & .net code.
Now I'm looking towards billing & usage information, after going through couple of blogs & posts its is found that API related to billing and usage can not be done, but some told  using enterprise azure portal login - and some are talking about
    Window Azure Pack.
I also tried in installing Windows DataCenter - and installed Windows Azure Pack but couldn't get any idea.
Could any one can tell me what is enterprise azure login & what is Windows Azure pack.
Is there any way I can get information about usage and billing to windows azure.
    Thanks in advance. @Phaneendra

  • Windows Azure Pack - Server returned HTTP response code: 500 error while accessing the public tenant API

    Hi,
We are facing the following error while trying to access the given Windows Azure Pack Public tenant API to query the virtual machines list along with network adaper details -
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10000&$skip=0
The response is proper when we access the following URL -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines
Only on adding the $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters, url parameter we are getting the above error.
Where can we check for the error logs on the Azure Pack server ? We checked for the logs using Windows Event Viewer but did not find any for the public tenant API.
What should be the cause for such an error and how can we fix this to get the proper data?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, we tried this, $top=10&$skip=0 works for the following url
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$top=10&$skip=0
It is only when we add $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters,
the server returns the mentioned error response -
URL for which the server returns the 500 error -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10&$skip=0
    Can
you point to the error logs for Windows Azure Pack and SPF ?

  • Cannot install Windows Azure Storage Emulator - 3.0 Error: No available SQL Instance was found

When trying to install Windows Azure SDK for .NET (VS 2013) - 2.3 from Web Platform Installer 4.6, the install fails because  Windows Azure Storage Emulator - 3.0 (Dependency) does not install successfully.
Possibly relevant lines from the install log are:
CAQuietExec:  Entering CAQuietExec in C:\WINDOWS\Installer\MSI1223.tmp, version 3.6.3303.0
    CAQuietExec:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Azure\Storage Emulator\WAStorageEmulator.exe" init -forcecreate -autodetect
CAQuietExec:  Windows Azure Storage Emulator 3.0.0.0 command line tool
CAQuietExec:  Error: No available SQL Instance was found.
CAQuietExec:  Error 0xfffffff6: Command line returned an error.
    CAQuietExec:  Error 0xfffffff6: CAQuietExec Failed
CustomAction RunInitialize returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
Action ended 11:50:13: InstallFinalize. Return value 3.
Action ended 11:50:13: INSTALL. Return value 3.
In terms of SQL Instance, SQL LocalDB is installed and working properly.  SQL Server 2012 is also installed and working properly.

    Hi,
It is a SDK version issue. I suggest you could remove all azure sdk form your PC and use WPI to install the latest version again.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
    Regards,
    Will

  • Azure Pack Websites - Create from template fails

    Hi,
I have implemented a full production version of Azure Pack Websites, and creating blank websites works fine, but if i try to create websites from templates it doesnt work. Only error i get is "Provisioning failed" - "Unable to connect to the
    remote server"
I thought the issue was because the servers couldn't retrieve the packages from the web Pi feed, so i create an offline feed according to this article (http://blogs.technet.com/b/privatecloud/archive/2013/11/26/off-lining-web-application-gallery-feed-for-windows-azure-pack.aspx)
but i get the exact same error.
I have looked at logs and troubleshooted for 3 days, i really could need some help.

I think i can help you but first, are there any firewalls between your WAP components (Even between your browser and the WAP servers, anything)

    Hi Ryankorock,
Sorry to revive an old post but is there any update on compatibility? We are running SCVMM 2012 R2 Build 3.2.7768.0 with an F5 BIG-IP
running "11.6.0 Build 0.0.401 Final". We see the exact same error

The plugin creates everything on the F5, pools, nodes, and virtual server. We have tried with and without a health probe with no luck.

  • Release Management Azure Pack (website cloud)

Is it possible to integrate Release Management 2013 with Azure Pack? (as in deploying to for example an on premise website cloud using the controls that Release Management provides?)

    Hi Kameel88,
    Thanks for your reply.
    According the information in this
document, we can download the publish file from Azure Pack web site to deploy TFS web application to Azure Pack, so I think you create the PowerShell script to run that publish file, and invoke/run this PS Script in your release template to complete the
    deploy. http://www.visualstudio.com/get-started/deploy-no-agents-vs.
For more information about deploy to Windows Azure Pack, please post in
Azure Pack forum for the better response.

  • Does windows azure service management APIs work for windows azure pack setup as well ?

Does Service Management REST APIs(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/ee460799.aspx) for Azure work with
Windows Azure Pack as well ?

    Hi,
Windows Azure Pack is basically a proof of concept.
So, it will not have all the features that Windows Azure has in the cloud.
Some services such as Cloud services & storage services are not available.
    for some available API support:

  • Can't install windows azure storage sdk on windows phone 8

From Visual studio 2013 ultimate, I opened Nuget package manager console and typed following command for my windows phone 8 solution:

I get the same problem using UI version of package manager as well.
Did something change with the newer version of windows azure storage?

The package you are trying to install does not include the Windows Phone library. Please use the following command instead:
    Install-Package WindowsAzure.Storage-Preview -Pre
Thanks for this. It worked for me. Can I just add, for those that don't know how to run this command. You go to tools > Library package manager > package manager console then paste in the command and hit enter.

  • Cannot install Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool on Server 2012 w/ SQL Server 2012

I went to change a user password on the server today and after changing the password I logged into the SQL server to run “Import-module dirsync” & “Start-onlinecoexistencesync” in powershell in order to sync the new password with Exchange Online. After
waiting ten minutes I tried setting up the email on the user’s PC but the new password was not being accepted. I logged into Office 365 and I got the following warning.
"Warning: Last synced more than 3 days ago | Troubleshoot"
So I pressed troubleshoot and the site installed a tool on the server to try and find out what the issue was. After the tool ran it told me that the version of dirsync.exe was out of date and that I should download the new one and install it. So I downloaded
the new dirsync.exe (version 7020 I believe) and tried installing it. I kept getting error after error, different ones to boot.
First it told me I wasn’t part of the FIMSyncAdmins group (so I added myself), then it told me that it could not connect to MIIS server,  so I tried starting it and windows said that there was a problem with the sign on used by the service so I had
to reset the password for the local user named “AAD_bfd1d6f0cef7” which was being used by that service. The service started successfully and when I went to install it told me I could not and if the problem persisted I should uninstall the old version and reinstall.
Looking in the log file, before I even install the software I see the following Information...
    Level: Information
    Date: 2015-03-24 12:49:17 PM
    Source: Directory Synchronization
    Event ID: 0
    Task Category: None
"The current configuration of the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool is invalid. Please reinstall the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool."
So I tried to reinstall (i even manually uninstalled the old version and removed the folder in C:\Program Files\ called "Windows Azure Active Directory Sync") and on reinstall I get as far as "Installing Components" and then after a little
while it errors out with the error "The install was unable to setup a required component. Check the event logs for more information. Please try the installation again and if the error persists, contact Technical Support. "
Looking at the log file there are a bunch of new entries, created by the installer. There's over 300 new entries and I can not post them all here due to character count restriction. you can find the log file here...
    www.clarkfreightways.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dirsync_log.txt
Can anyone tell me what is going on, I've been looking through the log files and I can see errors but I'm not sure what to do to fix it.

    Greetings!
Wanted to know if you've hosted the DirSync tool (latest version) on a VM? Also, if this is deployed in a Production or Lab environment? If it's a lab setup, you may
try installing the DirSync on a new VM / Server (suspecting that it could be some machine related issues).
Here's a Support KB helping with different errors:
    http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2684395
If its a production environment, would suggest to raise a
Technical Support Ticket for assisting further with break-fix.
    Thank you,
    Arvind
