Error: Insufficient Disk Space (but my HD has plenty of space)

I am getting the following message when trying to import my vacation photos from SD card to Aperture.
"Insufficient Disk Space
There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 447MB of additional free space."
Does anyone know what this means?
I have plenty of room on my HD. How do I add to my Aperture Library volume?
Just looked and my Aperture Libary is 53.77 GB.

Please advise your hardware and workflow info in some detail. Specific Mac, RAM, hard drives or SSDs, where the Library is located, how full (in %) each hard drive is, OS/app versions, etc. so we can help you to troubleshoot your problem.
Folks have lots of good reasons for not upgrading OS or app versions. Personally I try to always delay updating versions, and did not go to Lion until 10.7.4. However if you are still on 10.7.1 like it says in your sig I do suggest that you seriously consider upgrading to a newer version of the OS.
Given that you are currently having problems I do recommend that you report the full hdw/sw/workflow info here before doing anything dramatic like upgrading the OS. Any suggestions that we make while ignorant of your full info may lead in the wrong direction.

Photoshop Installer Error "Insufficient Disk Space" but I have more than enough.

I am trying to download the Photoshop CS6 trial. My computer has 2 hard drives, one is full but the other has plenty of space. Yet when I try to install Photoshop, and set it to save on that hard drive, it's not working and says that there's insufficient disk space when there's more than enough on that one. Photoshop tells me I require 1 Gb, I have 600+ Gb, I don't know why it's giving me this proiblem. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I've reinstall the Download Assistant several times, I was sure to assign it to the correct hard drive. Same for installing Photoshop. What else can I do to try and solve this problem?

Keep getting errors from application log that indicates transaction log is full but it has plenty of space

Dealing with a 4rd party application that inserts into its log table, but watching sql profiler i see a ton of the same traffic. Its trying to insert into the table, but generates an error that mentions the transaction log for that DB is full.
Well, earlier I had reset the recovery mode to simple, from full since this is a test system and dont really care about recovery.
So the message mentions to check the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases and there the value is 'CHECKPOINT'. At least at that point in time.
There is plenty of space in the transaction log and the physical disk has plenty of space as well.
What could be causing the error that seems to suggest the transaction log is full, when in fact it is not?

What is the setup for autogrowth on the log file?

Office 365 Error: We're sorry, but (program name) has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. (Program name) will need to be closed as a result.

Today we had this error code on starting Office programs out of the blue. We've had this error in the past and we know what caused it, but that action wasn't taken. I've already read other posts, but no "Answer" provides a real solution to a clear
problem with Office 365.
The error: "We're sorry, but (program name) has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. (Program name) will need to be closed as a result."
It offers "Repair Now", then the two following options: "Online" or "Offline". Neither are effective.
In the past we used the Office 365 Fix It tool, but uninstalling and reinstalling Office on a regular basis is unacceptable. Resorting to web apps is also not going to happen.
Running Win 7 Pro 64 bit, fully updated.
We're starting to get fed up with this broken software. Paying monthly for programs that don't work is ridiculous. Any real answers would be greatly appreciated!

Locate your Office application and check the setting of Compatibility.
For example,
Right click on Excel (.exe) > Properties > Compatibility > uncheck all the boxes, click Ok and check if it helps.
To access Excel (.exe), open the following location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Excel.exe
Or
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15\Excel.exe
Try to open Excel and check if it opens.

Can't record passed 4.59min? drive has plenty of space.

I'm recording to HDdrive with plenty of space but my audio recordings are cutting off at around 5 min. In the Progress Window while recording the time right off the bat starts at around 5min and goes down until it stops recording. Do I need to set up a different parameter somewhere?

Do you have that default song bar at the top of the screen pushed back?
Besides the problem already being solved, the end marker makes no difference when recording. If you record past that the marker will just move with it.

Error: Insufficient disk space & file write permissions

when my client edits a page and the click save i get the following error:
the permissions for the includes folder are 755.
I dont have this problem on other websites however and they are setup the same way.

I am having the identical problem this week with incontext editing of a website I could edit fine last week with incontext editing but this week I cannot save changes to any page I try to edit, even though I've not made any changes to the site in the week since.
If I Edit one page and try to save the changes, I get one of two errors:
"The operation could not be performed because a problem occured while attempting to connect to the server. Please check your connection and try again."
or
"The operation could not be performed because there is insufficient disk space or the file write permission is not granted."
I then went to the Incontext editing control panel, Manage Users, Configure Site and there I can click Test Connection and it reports it can successfully connect to the site using FTP. But when I try to Save that Configure Site (even though I've made no changes except to click Test Connection) I get two different errors each time I try...
The first error reported was the unable to connect to the server error.
"The operation could not be performed because a problem occured while attempting to connect to the server. Please check your connection and try again."
or
"Configure Site Error. An FTP error occurred. A test file could not be copied to the specified Host Directory. Your FTP user may not have sufficient permissions to access the folder and/or its content."
I am 100% certain there is no problem on the server with insufficient disk space or file permissions, so this is an incorrect error message being reported by InContext Editing. I can connect to the site and make and save changes with Dreamweaver with the identical FTP settings. This site is on a server at GoDaddy that has plenty of disk space and I can see that all the permissions on site folders are set correctly.
At this point I have a very frustrated client who is anxious to edit web pages but cannot.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? It is telling me I need 6MB of additional free space but despite deleting an abundance of other photos and seemingly freeing up the space I still cannot import and get the same error? HELP!

Even assuming that the GB was a typo and should be MB you're still on the hairy edge.

The message is referring to not having enough space on your iPad, not to not having enough space in your iCloud account. Purchasing additional storage in your iCloud account does not give you more available space on your iPad.
You can check how much space you have available on your iPad by going to Settings>General>Usage. If you don't have enough, you'll have to delete or sync some data off your iPad to free up additional space.

Final cut express error insufficient disk space to render.

I have my final cut express projects saved to external hard drives. When working on a project and I try to render the file I am receiving the error message of insufficient space to render but I have over 25 gigs on my external hard drive. I can save the file but not render it. I have tried restarting computer and hard drive but problem continues. Any suggestions? I only have 4 gigs of space on my internal hardrive.

Make sure System Settings is correctly set to the external drive. You do not have enough space on your system drive. It is heavily fragmented and likely to cause serious problems. You should keep about 10% or more of the system drive free for the OS to work with.

False error insufficient disk space

i got a false error msg "safari culdn't save the file xxx because there isn't enought available space in disk" (y have 100 gb free) this is a 2 mb file.
last things i made is install a httpmail software. i delete this programm files, and keep same error.
i don't want format disk.
i would like a restauration point way.

That misleading error message can be the result of moving a Safari download while it's in progress.

Error insufficient disk space

during i install oracle fusion application when i am Installing Oracle Identity and Access Management components in the stage of weblogic 10.3.6.0 installation i face the error INSUFFICIENTDISK SPACE and mention that installation required about 3GB in a specific folder where i am installing the product and when i checked this folder i found the free space is about 400 GB

Render error: insufficient disk space

I have a scratch drive which FCP shows having 100gb.. and I am trying to render 5 seconds of video and it's giving me this error!!
Is there some place I am not seeing where render files are limited to a certain size?? I doubt this, because I even opened the render manager and removed a 2gb render file and I still get this error.

Of course you have verified the location FCP is sending render files?
You checked this and reset it to make doubly sure?
If not, do so.
If you did, TRASH your FCP preference files using FCP Attic and reset the scratch render disk target.

how do i deal with this?

Did you reset the scratch disk - if not, trashing the prefs will result in your renders being placed on your boot drive. Not a good choice...

What extra HD space are you referring to?
I'm not very familiar with this type of data output, but I would read it this way:
There seem to be two disk drives present, a 250.1 GB Toshiba, presumably the internal drive and current startup disk, and a second 499.4 GB disk drive.
The 250.1 GB Toshiba is disk0, and contains two partitions:
disk0s1 - a small 209.7 MB "EFI" partition which is unnamed.
disk0s2 - a 249.72 GB "Apple_HFS" partition named *Fly HD*, mounted as the current startup volume.
209.7 MB + 249.72 GB = 249.93 GB
The second 499.4 GB drive is disk 1, and has two partitions
disk1s1 - a tiny 32.3 KB "Applepartitionmap" partition which is unnamed
disk1s2 - a 499.4 GB "Apple_HFS" partition named Fly
32.3 KB + 499.4 GB = 499.4 GB
