Error invoking ioracle in ins_rdbms.mk - help please
I'm installing 9.2 Enterprise on a Gentoo Linux system (dual Pentium 2). At "Linking Oracle 9i Database 9.2.0.1.0" (82%, drat!), I get this error:
Error in invoking target ioracle of makefile /opt/oracle/OraHome1/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk
The last thing in the installer log just indicates the same installMakeFileName, but it also refers to the appropriate make.log, which has this at the end:
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.3/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /opt/oracle/OraHome1/rdbms/lib/lracle: hidden symbol `__fixunssfdi' in /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.3/libgcc.a(_fixunssfdi.oS) is referenced by DSO collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Obviously, I doubt Oracle is certified on Gentoo, but my gcc version is 3.2.3, recent enough, eh? If the gcc -o command that precedes this error will help I'll post it. It's the second command under the "-Linking Oracle" heading, preceded by an rm -f /opt/oracle/OraHome1/rdbms/lib/oracle

Down grading the "binutils" package does not appear to be all that simple. I've seen that other people have had this problem, just wondering if anyone has had any success?

Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
You could just update or uninstall the security software on your computer and then test again. -
i forgot the password of my iphone 3g and when i try to restore it it shows the message"my iphone 3g could not be restored an unknown error occurred(1015)" can any body help please..

Tried to upgrade as instructed and after uninstalling and reinstalling (even back to the former iTunes which I was happy with)several times, keep getting message "Procedure entry point could not be located in dynamic link library" followed by "iTunes was not installed properly" "Error 7". Help, please??
Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Error code is 2738...help please asap, anyone?
When I try to install iTunes v7, i get the error code is 2738 message. I tried doing what apple and others said to do to fix this problem and nothing has worked. When i try to register VBscript i get a message that says it failed return code was: 0x80004005.
When starting up windows, i get an an error that says "Can't find script engine 'VBScript' for script 'c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs" Could this have anything to do with the error i keep getting when i try to register VBScript??

A mail client program is something like Outlook, Outlook Exoress, Thunderbord, Windows Mail etc - standalone mail programs on a computer.

Download error on PDFs--can't find helper--please help!

I'm trying to use USPS.com to print labels. It used to work great for me until I downloaded the newest Firefox version and also installed the new CS3. I have Mac OS 10.5. When I go make a label at USPS (or try to download any PDF), I get an error like this and the document won't open, I can't print anything:

/Users/heidinylnd/desktop/statement.pdf could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences
I have Acrobat 8 Professional. I downloaded Acrobat Reader 8 to see if that would put the required "helper" back in place. No luck. I even made that the default program to open PDFs. I used to get "Preview" to open the PDFs, but that's not working now, either. Erg!

HeidiI did! I had to fix it through Firefox. Apparently something doesn't install automatically with the new CS3 or 10.5--whichever is the culprit.
Try this:
Go to Firefox in your top menu options
Scroll down to preferences
When the "Main" screen comes up, click on "Content"
Hit the last button on the page, "Manage"
You'll then be able to see what program is linked to PDFs. On mine, no action was set once I installed the new programs and deleted my old version of Acrobat.
I didn't fix this in Explorer, but I'll bet there's a similar process. I worked on finding the answer for 4 hours--finally getting help through firefox's volunteer forums! I even downloaded the new Acrobat reader and that didn't do anything before this.

U44M1P7 error fix without re-installing? Help please...
I just bought a new iMac and migrated all my stuff from the old machine. I've spent hours re-entering passwords etc. to get my 3d party plugins going. Now, after trying to simply upgrade Photoshop I get this error and I'm told to uninstall then re-intall Phohoshop. I will have lost all my plugins and presets and lose a lot more valuable time. Now, also, Photoshop won't boot so I'm dead in the water. Adobe please help; this is not something I did wrong.
Migrating Adobe products from one machine to another is not going to work. You need to install Adobe products so that the installation process can manage tying the machine to the software license.

After upgrading to itunes 10.5 itunes.exe - entry point not found message appears. The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQlite3.dll (this mesage appeared) Reinstalled 3 times then I get message itones not installed correctly error 7. I started up and plugged in my iPad and then the following message came up:

Itunes could not connect to the Itunes store. An unknown error has occurred. (-3212). Help please!
I have tried many different things to solve this issue, but nothing works! I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes as instructed by Apple support. I have checked my firewall, but that wasn't the problem. I have changed my proxy settings and that didn't solve the issue. When I plug my Iphone into my laptop it doesn't detect my phone and when I try to check for updates a different error message occurs. Please help!

Getting a error message 6 on PSE 8 Help please?
I downloaded PSE8 to an external hard drive and now I am recieving error message 6 when I try to open on my laptop. Please help.
I believe this is a licensing error.
I don't think you can run Elements from an external hard drive. I'm pretty sure it has to be on the internal hard drive since the two allowable activations are tied to specific computers. Be aware you can only have it on two computers...activated...at one time. If you need it on a third, you'll have to deactivate it one one of the others before it'll let you use it. -

Try restarting the iPod touch by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPod back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again.
Also, try testing after connecting to a different Wi-Fi network.
The general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1513 will resolve most iTunes store related issues on the iPod touch.
